Great bike shop and friendly staff! We took in my son's toddler bike in to get the chain fixed. They had it ready the next day and ended up doing the labor for free. Highly recommend! read more

Mike and Michael are very helpful and courteous. They let my kid take a spin in the parking lot and looked out for cars for us so we could pay attention to the ride. Great selection of high quality bikes and lots of tempting accessories. They came out in the cold December weather to ensure I had the bike attached to my car rack properly. True experts and professionals. read more

This place is great! I drove 40 miles from my home (and my local Trek dealer) because I was so impressed with the folks at the shop. Shout out to Drake and Hans. I had a somewhat unique situation with bike size and compatibility with my rack and they worked it all out for me. I am VERY SATISFIED with the product and service. Thanks so much! read more

Top tier shop! Plenty of options for biking in the area but the customer service and friendly atmosphere of Prairie Path does it for me. When it was time for an upgrade I placed an order online through their site. Not even 10 minutes later got a call from the owner to give me a timeline for the bike and when I could grab it. They beat that timeline by 5 days!!! Ordered on a Thursday, assembled and in my possession by Saturday night! Great service, great people, my new permanent shop. read more

Prairie Path Cycles - Batavia - Roscoe 7 - Bikes Near Me - Batavia, Illinois

I bought an e-bike there last fall. At the time of test riding I felt a vibration in the peddles and mentioned it to salesperson which basically was shrugged off. Never having ridden an e-bike before I thought that maybe it was normal. I did like the salesperson. I then went and purchased a carrier returned to store the next day to complete purchase. As it was getting close to closing I got some bum rushing. First they couldn't find original charger and suggested any will do and offered another. The owners manual wasn't present either they suggested just searching and downloading a pdf online. Mind you the bike was 3200, had been received at shop a few days prior and I also bought a helmet, phone holder and pannier bag for an additional whatever. I even told salesgirl she missed charging me for 1 of the items as she was hurrying everything along. Not a stellar experience. Long story short my wife also purchased a trek E bike at Michael's cycles in Janesville and had the complete opposite experience. Knowledgeable staff and orderly well stocked shop. We took both bikes there for preseason service last week and they found on my bike that the lock ring was cross threaded and the front sprocket was wobbly because it wasn't tight. Vibration resolved lol. I understand Prairie Path Cycles wouldn't have assembled this portion probably occurred at factory but maybe they should have found it before selling. read more

Great service!!! Thanks to the tech people. Always the best attitude and amazing customer service.

I have been to many bike shops, and I would rank this one low on the list. They only sell Trek bikes, and after trying several of the road bikes, the quality is just not there compared to other brands. While I was bike shopping, the staff was not helpful at all. There were three guys just standing behind the counter chatting. You'd think that if a customer was considering making a $1000 purchase, then the staff would be more helpful. Don't waste your time here if you're bike shopping. It might be an okay place if you just need a part. read more

About five years ago I stopped into this store to find a saddle. It's hard to know what kind of saddle you need until you do some riding..a predicament I explained to the shop owner. He showed me several that I might prefer but ultimately, there was one that he recommended the most. I wasn't convinced so he told me to take it home for a couple weeks, test it out, then bring it back or pay for it. This while not having to leave any cash or deposit. It was a leap of faith that I really appreciated, so I tested it out and ended up paying for it. Went back in today for yet another component. Gone are my days with an SUV at my disposal so I was in need of a trunk bike rack. The guy who helped me looked up the make & model of my car to ensure that he was only recommending a rack that would work. My car is anti-bike rack....other bike stores in the area couldn't find a single make to accommodate. PPC was not only able to locate a rack that worked with my car, they had it in stock, and the gentleman who helped me also took the time to show me how to install it. Top notch service here, these people truly care about their customers and their needs. read more

I got a call at home tonight (that was a bit strange) from one of the owners (Mike) and I really appreciate that. He said someone had sent my comments to me and he wanted to do what he could to make things right. Please see my blog for more details and reviews. He invited me to stop back in and said he would give me a refund or store credit. That is the RIGHT way to do BUSINESS and I appreciate it. Maybe its time to dump my 30+ year bike........lets see after I stop back in. read more

So, I have been wanting a better bike than my Schwinn, and hubby dragged me in there to just "look". The staff was friendly and showed interest in how I would be using the bike, price range etc. They had me test ride a few frame sizes and styles till I found a good fit. And of course, I bought (a Trek Verve II). Loved the bike and had a little gear rattling. They made adjustments quickly for me, but then had a little mishap on the River Path. Let's just say I brake for scenic vistas and hubby does not, lol. So he rear ended me and broke the plastic chain guard. I took it back later that day thinking it would cost a few bucks and I would have to wait for a part, and they fixed it immediately and did not charge me! How nice... I think I will bring them a box of cupcakes to let them know their kindness was not lost on me. I very much recommend them and even though the accessory inventory is a bit small they know their stuff and will get you whatever you need! read more

To be honest, I've never purchased anything big here. It's just too far away to be convenient. That said, I have purchased smaller items and accessories periodically. Once, on a ride picking up signs from a charity bike ride, we needed something to secure the signs in our trailer. They didn't have any rope handy, but offered a defective inner tube which worked fine. Their staff is friendly & helpful. They have plenty of stock and can support it well. The fact that it's right on the fox river trail keeps it at the front of my mind when riding there in case of problems. read more

Small shop with a limited selection, but it's well worth stopping in for the service here. I couldn't find what I was looking for in a helmet so they ordered in a few for me to try. I ended up picking up a few odds and ends I needed and the prices were fair but not the lowest in the area - but the couple of dollars extra were well worth it for the solid advice and help they offered. Definitely a small business that I'm happy to support. read more

I went in to take a look around...it's not bad but not good - I overheard the sales folks talking to a customer and they just didn't seem to know very much...and seemed a little pushy. Like this man said he needed to think about it (he was looking at a bike) and the sales guy wouldn't let it go...bikes aren't cheap, some people need time. When I walked into the store I felt like I was in the Walmart bike department...it seemed rather unorganized inside so it was hard to focus on any one thing. A salesperson did greet me with a hello but then I kept on getting harassed the entire time I was in there which was only 10 minutes. read more

Super friendly and fair price. Did a brake repair on the spot. What else can you ask for.

This is a great shop that I'm happy to patronize! I bought my mountain bike and my husband's mountain bike at this shop. We also bought a 'bones' car mount, sunglasses, watter bottle holders, and a variety of accessories here. The owner and staff are knowledgeable, accommodating, and friendly. Whenever I have friends or associates in town, I direct them here for bike rentals. They always tell me they're treated well and have a great experience. If you need to buy or rent a bike or bike accessories, go to this place! read more

Nice staff. We went in with some questions about tires, and you could tell they knew what they were talking about. They offered different opinions than other cycling stores in the area, so it allowed us to do some research. They were very no-nonsense yet friendly and accommodating. We will go there in the future for our bicycling needs. Albeit, I will say, that my husband and I are not avid bicyclers. Our version of "biking" is riding our bikes on the Prairie Path to an Batavia Creamery. Nevertheless, we ARE biking. My husband has a performance bike, and the guys at Prairie Path were able to help him. read more

This is a short review; I will try to get something to more adequately express my thanks to Mike and Liam shortly. I was riding on the Fox River Trail with fiends and my freewheel broke on my 49 year-old Schwinn Super LeTour 2. Although they didn't have the 6 speed part in stock, they rigged a 7-speed unit that would get me home, offered me a discount because I'm a member of a local bike club, and got me in and out in a matter of 20-some minutes. I'd never been there before, but this is how a great bike shop treats people who respect bike shops. I will be back I can; Mike runs a hell of a store and Liam quickly showed himself to be a great and knowledgeable mechanic. Thanks! I will be back! read more

I dropped off a bike Saturday, June 6th and was told 7 to 10 days and stopped by the shop today the 22nd of June, and my bike hadn't been touched wasn't even in their system and was very rudely handed back my bike and told they were too busy to work on it, and then told 3 employees (technicians) had gotten COVID-19 over the weekend. Then I was told they got it during the previous week. But to have a bike for over two weeks and then to be treated so rudely by an employee named _ _ ke with a huge attitude is no way to treat the public who is trying to support local business. Glad they are so busy and don't need my business, hopefully, others think before they drop off their bike. Since I own my own business if I had an employee like _ _ ke, I wouldn't have customers very long. read more

Prairie Path Cycles is the place to go for great bikes and service at fair prices. This is THE bike shop for cyclists of any age in the Fox Valley Tri-City area of Batavia, Geneva and Saint Charles! whether you're athletic level, riding for fitness, or a recreational rider, you'll find the ownership and staff to be friendly, honest and knowledgeable. They have everything from kids bikes, through recreational bicycles, cruiser bikes, hybrids, electric bikes, mountain bikes, cyclocross bikes, road bikes and all the accessories and bike repair services you'll ever need. If you're taking cycling to the next level or need training, they have a cycling club named "Athletes By Design" you can join and they're involved with cycling events throughout Chicago land. I've found that the ABD cyclists are friendly, helpful and fun to hang out with at the cycling events and group rides. Whether you're a member or just checking it out, this is not some snooty bike shop, these are real down to earth folks who make you feel welcome and are into this for the passion and lifestyle of cycling, in other words, they're not just another place to buy a bike. This is a real "bike shop". Awesome bicycle shop in Batavia!!! Highly recommended and definitely 5 stars! read more

Excellent service and professional. They listen to what I need and very patient. I will buy all my accessories there.

Always staffed with friendly, helpful, and patient employees. We stopped in yesterday and John (I think) kindly fixed my husband's handlebars. Then, after I decided to purchase a seat, he installed it on the spot. The seat comes with a 30 day guarantee. We are always pleased with the service we get from Prairie Path in Batavia. read more

Fast, skillful work by friendly people. You get a work order with pricing and a call when the bike is ready. The location is convenient to the Illinois Prairie Path but even if you're well off the path and need to drive the bike to the shop it's worth the trip. They put new shoes on my old Schwin, cleaned the drive train, and took the squeak out of the brakes. I'm a happy rider again! Their pricing is reasonable with good buys on a wide variety of Treks and other brands as well. If my 40-pound Schwinn gets to be too much for me, I'm looking at Trek! read more

Been going here for many years for new bikes, maintenance and repairs. Know their stuff, clean store, helpful and very knowledgeable. Used them since they were in Winfield. Keep up the awsome job!!!!! Hard to find a good bike place. Right off the fox river trail too. read more

Bought a trek madone 5.2 carbon road bike 2 years ago. Had some deterioration in the frame and trek replaced it with a 5.9. Bonus! Really appreciated both trek and prairie cycles for coming thru. Job well Done! read more

There are tons of bike shops in the area and lots much closer to me, but I'll definitely be making the trip to Prairie Path instead of closer options. I can get parts anywhere, and even more online, but where it counts is customer service. When I go into the shop it doesn't matter if I'm there looking for a super expensive road bike, or in my case yesterday, a bell for my daughters bike, I'm treated with genuine caring and kindness. Great shop, very knowledgeable staff who want to help no matter what. read more

The shop issued the refund in full today and apologized for having not taken care of it sooner and for miscommunication. I am satisfied with the resolution. read more

Can't say enough good things about this place. I bought my son a used bike here last year and we've needed a couple of minor adjustments on it this year. They took care of the adjustments, cheerfully and quickly, and refused payment. When I needed a new wheel for my bike, same great service at a very reasonable price. They also handled a repair that I didn't even know was covered under a warranty so that I didn't have to pay for that either :) I wish everyone ran their business the way these guys do. I'm a loyal customer from now on. read more

I visited a number of Fox Valley bike shops but as soon as I walked into "Prairie Path", I knew I was going to purchase my next bike here. The staff was friendly and knowledgable and didn't overwhelm me with too many choices. And I know this might sound like a little thing....but it's a dog-friendly shop. As I bike with my dog (he has a custom bike seat), it was important for me to know that I could stop in here with my pooch. One of the Geneva bike shops has a big sign in their window "No Dogs" and while I'm sure they have their reasons, it's a little off-putting...didn't even go inside. With my bike purchase, I got a $50 gift card and 10% off accessory purchases. When I went back to spend my gift card, the sales guy helped me pick just the right bike helmut and even though he knew I was using my gift card, he spent lots of time with me and made me feel very welcomed. Gave the dog a treat too! :-) So go visit Mike and his staff; you'll be glad you did! read more

My boyfriend and I were in the market to buy new bikes and a little overwhelmed with the options. This is the 2nd bike we have bought from Prairie Path Cycles. Liam was very knowledgeable, friendly, and not at all pushy. They also have another store in Winfield. Good people work in both locations! Good bikes at good price! I highly recommended checking them out! read more

Bought my last two Bikes from Prairie Path Cycles and couldn't be happier with the experiance here. Deciding to move up to a road bike and seeing that they had a 2010 Madone on sale I went into the woodfield location. The first thing I really enjoy about this store is they didn't pressure me into getting anything I didn't want. They showed me the different road bikes and explained the differences to me. When I decided I wanted to go with the 2010 Madone Mike met me out at his Bativa location and showed me the bike. I really appreciated the amount of time he spent with me. When I was ready to pick up the bike he took well over a hour with me fitting the bike and getting me setup with shoes and clip in peddles. I also really appreciate the fact that I can come back at any time and they will adjust the bike. All in all great service. read more

Made my third visit to this shop today - close to closing time. I stopped in because I thought I needed new clipless MTB pedals - I received new biking shoes as a gift and tried to transfer the cleats from my old shoes; successfully got one done but a hex screw in the other was stripped. Because the set was so old I assumed I needed to get new ones. Despite being close to closing time, one of the guys, possibly the owner, took the time to ask me some questions, took a look at my current bike pedals and shoes and determined I only needed one cleat, he had a spare in the shop that he not only gave me but put on the shoe for me! We tried it out and it worked! My other two visits to this shop were for a bike tune up and to buy a chain/lock - positive visits all three times. read more

Mary Lee, Mike and Rob were all wonderful. They built up a custom frameset for me at a great price. Mary Lee carefully listened to my needs, ordered all the parts and cut me the deal. Rob assembled my bike with great care and Mike made the final tweaks and fitting. It is great to do business with a local shop that truly cares about their customers. I'll be back and sure to send my friends there! read more

My wife and I recently needed some service on our bikes. We both needed a tune up. Shortly after, my wife had a tire problem where the stem valve broke. Prairie Path was professional and prompt, just like you hope your local bike shop to be. I would recommend buying a bike here because they stand by what they sell and repair. read more

As bike shops go... this is it! I've been an avid cyclist for over 30 years and over the last handful of years have had the good fortune and pleasure to work with Mike Farrell and his crew... I've been in a few shops. I've bought all types of bikes from Mike's place. From a 'bike path' friendly style to the very top of the line road bike by Trek... The bottom line is that when I need something done to one of my bikes, Mike and his crew get it done. I never feel pressured (as one post suggested) but always find a welcome ear and a depth of knowledge that runs very very deep. Their pricing is fair. They take care of their customers. And they are just generally great to be around and to deal with. Mike has fitted me on several bikes and here's the deal--- perfection. If something is a tad out of line... fixed. Done. You know when you have a great fit. How? Because everything works and your neck, back, arms, hands and butt (knee's too) aren't killing you. People spend $3,000 on a bike and then hurt all the time... nuts. Go see Mike Farrell, tell him Ross sent you.... tell him what you want and need, let him direct you to a perfect solution. Did I say cheap? No. Because in this world--- you really do get what you for. So if you want a place that gets you in the right bike and gear, grows with you, helps you with your training goals, backs up their promises with actions.... Go see Mike at Prairie path Bikes. read more

Prairie Path Cycles is great.I will never go to any other bike shop. Well maybe the winfield store nice that they have two locations !

Needed a chain guard for my son's Huffy. We live in Batavia, so stopped here first. The young lady was friendly at first. She didn't think they had one, but she offered to check. She asked the two gentlemen working on bikes behind the counter. One of them asked what brand of bike. When I told him Huffy, he told me that they only had parts for the bigger brands. I read between the lines that if I had a $500+ bike he would have been willing to help. Since I haven't kept up with the ever evolving bike industry, I chuckled and said Huffy was big when I was a kid. The young lady replied that she didn't know Huffy was big back in the day. I'm only in my 40s, but she made me feel so much older and insulted. That was over two months ago. I found the chain guard at the third place I went and I just $400+ on a new bike and accessories from that shop. Prairie Path Cycles missed out on that sale. read more

Went to purchase new tires and shop for a new road bike for my son. Their website shows that the tires are in stock. One employee couldn't find them. She asked another employee who said that their website is often screwed up. I informed him that it clearly says "in stock". He said "I guess it is too good to be true" and walked away. They clearly didn't want my business. Sure it was for cheap tires, but they didn't need to be so rude. It is their website that is wrong. Didn't even bother to look at bikes. Will be going somewhere else for that. read more
