I've been to Vaca a few times now, and typically have a good experience. This time was just bad. I'm not sure if it's because it was a weekday, I was dining by myself, or something else was going on that day but the service was absolutely terrible. I was trying to order food for quite a while and was being blatantly ignored by the waitstaff, but one waitress in particular was serving the table next to me and had to pass inches from me. She still ignored me! I was getting ready to walk out and let the hostess know that I had tried to order, but just couldn't speak to anyone. Another waiter came over, finally, to take my order. I got the brisket Benedict. It came out very fast. Unfortunately, and maybe it's because I was already in a bad mood, but it just had no flavor. The potatoes were good and salty, but the Benedict sauce was watery and flavorless. There was barely any chimichurri either. Trying to get the check was almost as bad as trying to order. All in all, I'm not sure that I'll be back to Vaca for a long time. The space is fun, but the staff attitudes are hard to deal with. read more

Decided to try a new brunch place instead of the regular place we go to. We came here around 1pm on a Tuesday and there was no wait which was surprising to us since we saw a lot of reviews complaining about the long wait times. We figured it might be due to the day/time we arrived and those long wait times might be during weekend hours. Right away we got greeted by our waiter Yoan who sat us down near a window. The table had a real fresh flower center piece which gave it a nice touch. The seating and overall restaurant is really nice and clean. To start, we ordered a mimosa and a chocolate licuado. The licuado in a bag was so fun to see but the mimosa for the price of $7 was a bit too small for me. Either the price needs to come down a bit or the glass needs to be bigger! I'll include a picture below of both drinks. Overall, the licuado drink was very good and I would definitely get one myself next time. The mimosa was okay but I don't think I'd go back for another. For food, we decided to share a stack of 3 Leches pancakes and oh how good they were! The pancakes were very fluffy and when we received them they were definitely fresh off the grill which was obvious due to the steam emerging from them! Fresh fruit was placed on top and coconut sweet cream was all over them, it wasn't enough to make them soggy but enough to give them that moist taste. Our server Yoan even offered to bring us some more on the side but it wasn't necessary. Once we finished with those we ordered our main meals, I had the enfrijoladas and my boyfriend had the chilaquiles. We opted to add protein and went with porkbelly which was very well cooked and the taste was a sweet one. We both tried each other's food and agreed it was delicious. The enfrijoladas came with four tortillas with queso fresco on the inside and extra frijoles on the top with a jalapeno on the side. The amount was generous and I was only able to finish two and take the rest home. For the chilaquiles we asked for both red and green sauce to try them both and we decided the red sauce was more to our liking with a spicy kick whereas the green sauce had a more mild and lemony taste to it but just a good. They also have this chili oil sauce and it brought me back to my mom's cooking, it is very delicious, make sure to ask for it! To summarize, the drinks were good, the food delicious and the service was great! We'll definitely be coming back again soon! read more

Been here a few times, and got lucky to get a table right away. Normally the wait is pretty long because the dining area is pretty small. Tried the steak and eggs which came out so fast! Steak was cooked to a perfect medium, and the banana fosters waffle was super tasty. The reason for the 3 stars is because the cafe de olla seems to keep getting sweeter every visit. It wasn't really enjoyable and the service wasn't great. We had to keep asking other servers walking by for things because our server kept forgetting. Also, they let us know that coffee refills and any salsa, or request will have an extra charge as off January 1st. read more

Wow! This place is LIT!!!! Really delicious and authentic Mexican food with a brunch flair. The music in here is popping, the decorations are beautiful, and the staff are friendly and efficient. I ordered their strawberries and cream pancakes and they were so fluffy and delicious, and not too sweet. We got here and only waited about 3 minutes to be seated as they were cleaning down some tables. We got here right between the breakfast and lunch rush. We sat with menus and looked through all the pictures before deciding to start with the queso fundido followed by the chilaquiles with green salsa and birria as well as the double waygu burger. Maria took care of us and she was so sweet! She helped us pick out which licuado, the banana is AMAZING!!!! We did not talk for several minutes as we were amazed at the huge portions and deliciousness of each plate! The quality and portion of the food definitely matches the cost. Great food and experience. This was the second time we've been there and it got even better. We had the chilaquiles and the combo steak/chorizo/chile relleno. Amazing. Service was incredible. Our toddler loves the little chicaron that came with the plate and we asked if they could somehow get more even though it wasn't on the menu. They went above and beyond to make it happen. Our kid was ecstatic. Definitely recommend! Come early because it gets busy fast! read more

I ordered an Iced Horchata Matcha Latte and Birria Omelette and loved both things. The second time, I ordered a skillet and was not as impressed. The steak was good and soft, but the dish as a whole was just okay. Most recently, I ordered the omelette again since I loved it the first time, but it was different. The bacon wasn't in the omelette, I had to open it and add it myself. The potatoes were salty and missing the bell peppers they were cooked with last time. We weren't brought chips other than that the first time. Most recently, we overheard one of the managers (I'm assuming) scolding a staff member for not understanding Spanish well, which I thought was a little weird. I appreciate that you can get both red and green sauce. I got the chicken as the added protein. That was the weakest part of all the dishes I've had. The chicken was dry and barely seasoned. So we came to this restaurant on Mother's Day and it was notably very busy. That's a great sign as a good amount of people means they're doing something right so the food must be good. We had about an hour wait before we were sat, but were entertain with live Mariachi's performing The place is relatively small, but get it work done. Very clean, organized, and the staff are extremely courteous. The food is well presented on its plate and has great flavor. The coffee was delicious except we found a piece of paper that was from a wrapping of a sugar package. Interestingly enough, we had no sugar on our table how we requested any. All in all the prices were a little on the higher side, but the food was delicious as was the experience there less the paper in the coffee. Good location with both indoor and outdoor seating, can handle large groups but beware, they do have a 90 min stay limit. The tacos were incredibly disappointing, dry, expensive and overall very sad looking (we had to ask for sauce because it was so flavorless). The steak is nicely prepped and cooked and the scrambled eggs are done right. It was delicious. The interior of this place is nicely decorated and there's like a cow outside and like a pink tree inside. The roof also has a nice decor to it. Service in the beginning was okay but it just started to get worse as I was getting more into my meal such as getting a water refill was difficult and getting the check was difficult. The server just disappeared into the kitchen and didn't come back out like 10 minutes later. Overall, good food, priced decently, all day brunch, and nice interior. As we arrived, we were greeted promptly by a young hostess who turned out to also be our server. She offered us the seasonal atole, which sounded delicious, we asked for a sample as we weren't sure of which option to go with and she said they weren't allowed to give samples. So, we ordered both so we could try them both flavors. We also ordered their cafe de olla which was a bit bland on the taste. The cheese platter came out and it was a very fun dish trying several Mexican cheeses, the salsa had the perfect spicy level to combine it with the beans and tortillas. I've had jocoque before and this didn't taste like it, it was almost like plain sour cream. The smoked brisket was flavorful, but it was only one slice per each English muffin. The chimichurri sauce gave it a complete different taste which was surprisingly tasty. Lastly the dessert options, they have several, but we opted for their fall seasonal pan de muerto French toast, the horchata ice cream didn't taste like horchata but the bread was fluffy and tasted amazing. This dish came with a small portion of the atole de fresa, which we thought was ironic since we did ask for a sample size at the beginning of our meal. The server was attentive and she checked in on us serveral times, they play Spanish music which brought back a lot of memories. The decor is super cute, great job. read more

We came pretty early... around 9AM and there was no wait and food also came out SUPER quick. We noticed it started to get busy around 10AM, so if you wanna skip the lines come when they open.
