We trusted PPL Motors to sell our RV, and while it eventually sold, the experience was nothing short of frustrating. Throughout the entire process, communication was almost nonexistent. We had to constantly reach out for updates, and even then, getting any real information was like pulling teeth. We were told that there was a buyer at one point and they were waiting on funding that would take a couple of days. After a week, I called to get a status from the sales manager. He informed me that the buyer couldn't secure the funds, so the deal fell through. He then stated that he forgot to call me to let me know. It felt like they had no interest in keeping us informed except to encourage us to lower the asking price. On top of that, they tried to charge us for unnecessary repairs, claiming work needed to be done that was unnecessary. It felt like a clear attempt to pad their profits at our expense. For example, after initial delivery to their lot, they tried to charge nearly $250 to "install" a sliding screen door that took me literally 30 seconds or less to do on my own and fix a closet door that was supposedly not opening. When we went to the lot to see for ourselves, the closet door was mysteriously working. When the RV did finally sell, they did another inspection prior to the buyer taking possession. This revealed another $450 in needed repairs (estimated before cost of parts). Seeing this, I again went to see the need for these repairs for myself. Low and behold, 2 of the 3 identified repairs were proven to be false. The third I could not verify one way or the other and ended up having to pay $400 in parts and labor. However, I'm not sure if they actually even did anything. In the end, the RV did sell after several months, but the lack of transparency and poor customer service made the entire process far more stressful than it needed to be. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone looking for an honest and professional experience. Look elsewhere if you want a dealership that actually communicates and respects its customers. read more

We dove about 13hrs to see an older Class A. They held it for us. I had been honestly represented online and in conversation. The online sales person hooked us up with Sheldon for a Saturday walkthrough of a couple units. He was prompt, friendly and knowledgeable so we committed to have them do their inspections. The next weekend we returned and inked the deal, part of which was the installation of a washer/dryer stack. We were a long way from home so they got right on it and by the next afternoon, we were ready to roll. Now here's where it gets kind of amazing .. We went back into the bedroom where there had been 3 types of cabinetry in the corner, louver doos, a drawer and sold doors. I just saw the W/D stack and thought "that's cool, looks great" but the installer sez "wait .." and proceeds to close a single door that had all the fronts of the original cabineets mounted on it. You could not tell that the original cabinetry had been changed!!! We are bowled over, I mean WOW, what an extra effort and on a rush timeline. We were around the dealership parts of two days and everybody went out of their way to be friendly, water, coffee, etc. At the end they had come in under budget by $500 and actually told me about it .. who does that!?! The $$ had been part of the loan so we went through their accessories dept and I loaded up on some much needed stuff. I think I'm a decent judge of character and I saw a lot of that here. read more

Bought a 2022 SandPiper from here and had 3 leaks on the first trip. The washer and dryer were broken and we spent most of the trip making repairs just to use the bathroom. Sold that unit and decided to give them another chance as they had a unit that appeared to be what we wanted. Got there at 3:58 on Saturday and they closed at 4:00 our honest mistake. A lady met us in the parking lot and stated they were closed. We called after she walked away and asked nicely and said "we drove an hour can we look at the one unit we came to see?" They set the phone down and did not mute it. They said that "the people in the parking lot are bitching and want to see 1 unit they drove an hour to see is anyone here that can show them?" I then said "never mind we will take our business elsewhere because it's ridiculous to say we were bitching." She tried to deny saying "bitching" and that she said we were "pissed" which we weren't buying for a second because it was clear as day. At the end of the day I should've done research and saw they closed at 4:00, but I feel like our request wasn't ridiculous and I honestly would've been fine with a no. Take your money and RV to consign elsewhere, they obviously don't want it. Will call the manager on Monday and see how they wish to make this right. The front desk person needs a new position/job or just learn to mute the phone. read more

Just got home from picking up our 2019 vintage vista cruise and we are so happy with our experience. We are first time buyers and Andrew and Robert were so unbelievably nice and friendly and treated us family. The shop techs were amazing and walked though everything with us and went above and beyond to make sure everything was working properly and safe for us to drive. The cashers ( front desk) women were so enjoyable to talk to and also were so amazingly help full. Out over all experience was everything anyone could hope for. PPL Motor Homes - New to me travel trailer - RV Dealers Near Me - Cleburne, Texas

We called before driving 2 hrs and 45 min, about the motorhome we wanted to see. We were told it was there, and we could see it. Once we were on the road about an hour we received a call from the salesman saying they were working on the water pump for the motorhome dry camping(not engine), but we could still come and look at the motorhome. We new the water pump wouldn't interfere with us checking the motorhome out and possibly test driving it. We got to dealers, while looking over the unit we see that they were working on the water tanks which he had told us. But we were never were told that the slides, the bunk over the driver seats, the plugs in the kitchen, the fan in the living room DIDN'T WORK. And the generator exhaust pipe was held up by zip ties. Needless to say you can't test drive with slides out. We went in to talk about it, that's when we are told they would need $699.00 to do a 30 point (not how many points) make ready. We had already done the 30 point inspection. And then another 600.00 to clean. CROOKED SCAMMERS! read more

Warning: Do not buy from PPL. I did and it was a big mistake. I bought an RV and the further away I drove, the more problems showed-up. They did not disclose any of the issues. They know how to mask, cover-up, and hide all the issues. The brakes were destroyed, and A/C did not work. Why does the hydraulics leak? It is overfilled. I had more than 18 specific issues that were covered-up. FYI, they have a full-service dept. that is trained for this deception. Warning: Do not buy from PPL. read more

Unfortunately PPL was not able to sell my camper. The folks there are very cordial. My review is based on the facts that when we brought the camper to them there was a minor mechanical issue PPL service agreed to fix and would "take about 15 minutes" to place a couple of bolts into a brace on the slide cover awning. I assumed that was done. After the unit was there a few weeks I was also called and offered a one time charge ($139) for washing the outside on a repetitive basis. When I picked up the camper I was charged at the service counter over $200 for that 15 minute fix only to find out they never done the job. It was fixed AFTER I pointed it out and I watched, it took about 15 minutes. The camper had black streaks running down it but since it was raining I didn't think it was worth complaining. My point is I would ask for proof there was actually washing done on a repetitive basis and do a follow-up on service to make sure they do what they indicate they would do. read more

Tom who is the "Sales Manager" at this location is an absolute jerk who is unwilling and/or unable to help someone who is educated enough to knows their way around a motorhome and knows how to review a contract. Communication was always an issue, he refused to click reply all on emails so that husband and wife could both be included on email responses and he always had an excuse. The service department and techs ended up saving this deal and they did have their own words to say about Tom and his mishandling of customers. Tom obviously got his experience from 1980's used car sales and is a total chauvinist who has no respect for women. PPL is a great concept and does have some great prices on used units. This location just needs to get rid of Tom, and they will actually have a good thing going. read more

We picked out a camper, applied for a loan and was approved. After PPL inspected the camper, we were told they would not sell it because of the massive amount of damage/problems (major fiberglass issues, battery fire, etc) the camper had. We did not see anything that we liked and asked the salesman, Craig, if he would get the commission if we bought from one of the other locations. He told us he would not and advised us that if we bought from one of the other locations, we would have to re-apply for the loan. Because we did not want another hard hit on our credit, we worked with Craig to find another camper at the Cleburne location. Craig told us the owner of that camper was no longer selling. We then discussed one and Craig did a walk through. He said he would get the contract written up and forward it to us the following day after his doctor's appointment. We did not hear from him the next day (Thursday). Friday, I reached out to him, and he stated the originally camper we chose, the one with all the problems, would be completely repaired and restored in a couple days. Even though they had refused to sell it two days before! Because of the many issues on the camper, we no longer wanted that camper. Craig then told us that if we went with another camper we would have to run our credit again. None of this makes sense to us. We have bought several new and used campers over the years and have never had this kind of experience. Why would we be told PPL would not sell a camper because the condition it is in and then a couple day everything was fixed. If you company has multiple locations, why would a credit check at one location not be good at all the locations? And why would one location need a different credit check for different campers? This all seems like your company is running some kind of scam. Craig used multiple reason on why he was not getting back with us when we had questions or were waiting on him for information or something he said he was going to do. We had to call him instead of him getting back with us. He is by far the worst salesperson we have ever had. I wish I had found the reviews on yelp and bbb before we contacted them. I only gave them 1 star because it would not let me give zero. Beware. Total scam! read more

A friend had recommended PPL about a year earlier but I hadn't considered getting an RV until it was necessary. I first looked in the Houston location, but everything I liked was either pending, sold, or went into contract before I could consider it. So I started looking in the Cleburne location and found several RVs I really liked. I chose one, drove up to buy it, but found some water damage, so I immediately found two more that I liked even better and went into contract that day, closing the next week. Even though the sales attitude is no-pressure, the purchase was fast, efficient, and the walk-thru proved extremely valuable so that I could learn how to operate and maintain my new-to-me rig. Best of all were the people I dealt with - Justin was the first person I spoke to by phone and he explained how the choosing/buying works, then Tom helped me with the contracts, and Wayne Ballard closed on the deal. Each person I met was friendly, personable, they all seemed to like working there, and everyone who handled my RV did a great job in their field of expertise.
