We tried contacting the sales person and their email suddenly no longer works. We missed our 30 day return window waiting to hear back and now they're charging us $500 just to pour chemicals in the black tank - which didn't actually fix anything. Horrible, awful company. A 5th wheel was listed at $13,996 online and we sent an offer online. Attached screenshots for proof of the pettiness. They called within 5 minutes and told us to come look at it. We just looked at the listing again, NOT MORE THAN AN HOUR LATER and they RAISED the price to $15,999!!!! You had the ad listing up for 16 days on another website and it matched the price on YOUR website. But you change it once someone sends you an offer. Mark called every few days to check in on us and kept us updated on things. Mark went out of his way to be positive even when things didn't work out as hoped. Two stars is being generous. I drove an hour or more in high stress traffic to look at a camper advertised online for a decent price. After looking at the unit, I went inside to make an offer. I showed the salesman the screenshot of the price that was advertised a few days prior. I told him I didn't need any tricks and wanted a total out the door price. I told him not to come back with a full price offer, but that's exactly what he did. Plus a "doc" fee that's $125 higher than Texas deems as reasonable. That's before you head to the finance office where they fast talk most people into expensive protection plans, maintenance agreements and "service contracts." (Don't call it a warranty! They aren't warranties and if they're honest, they'll reiterate that fact! Well after 10 minutes for what should be a two minute visit at the management desk, the salesman comes back with an offer that's ridiculous! The offer was not only higher than the price a few days ago, but it was even higher than the current price right that second on their internet page. The sales manager said "we don't discount these." He said it with a straight face too. Unbelievable. Most of these sales managers remind me of defense attorneys who defend murderers who they know are guilty. I don't know how they sleep. I guess they sleep fine in their luxury houses and drive home in their $100k+ Shelby Ford Trucks (there was one parking employee parking.) They (sales mgrs) make hundreds of thousands of dollars a year and act like they'll go broke if they don't squeeze every penny possible out of the common working man. They must be narcissists with no empathy or compassion for others. I actually stopped selling cars because of the lies and shady behavior of the sales managers and finance managers. There's a special place for some of these liars who look at people with a straight face and legally rob them of their money by using some fast talking psychological manipulation. They're so nice, until you call them on their BS. Then they get mad and act like you're betraying a life long friend. So narcissistic. They play the victim and try to put a guilt trip on you if you dare try to get a reasonable price from them. I see why the Camping World reviews in print, online and YouTube are so negative. It's because most of these Camping World dealers are like the used car shysters of the 60s and 70s. Anything for a buck. No concern for their fellow man. Plus they've run other hometown honest dealers out of business by either threats or by putting a dealership right down the street and promising the moon, yet delivering a flashlight! It's one thing to make a fair profit. It's another to take advantage of people if they are vulnerable and let you. I gave two stars only because the actual salesman was nice and just trying to survive until he (probably) decides to quit! (Have you seen the turnaround at these dealers?) Not one salesman out of 3 Camping Worlds I visited had a business card. (Because they were all newbies.) I bet there might be 1 in 20 salesmen who stay more than a year there. Bye bye CW Alvarado! I'll be spending my money elsewhere and warning others of this location's shady practices. Stay away unless you're a cash buyer who has done their research in price, options and add ons they try to sell you. You can get a warranty elsewhere that's probably cheaper and better. The interest and extras are where you really get screwed. Don't finance an RV for more than 5 years. If anyone is looking to purchase a travel trailer or motorhome I strongly advise against purchasing from Camping World. I bought the unit about 10 days ago. I was already working with a sales guy in North Carolina so I stuck it out with him when the first deal fell through, I had him searching for a used unit with pretty specific search details from other camping worlds to which he didn't find on his own somehow. So I sent him the info myself to a unit located in Illinois. Everything fit, I electronically signed what I could online gave them the $16,800 down payment and paid $1500 to transport it to the Sherman location for pick up which they originally wanted $3000 and I told them I'd split it with them to which they agreed 10 days ago. I've called and text and left voicemails, with no call backs emails or text for 3 days. I was originally told the unit would be delivered Monday or Tuesday then Wednesday or Thursday then Today. I called Sherman Yesterday evening since North Carolina ghosted me and they had me an ETA in 2 minutes. They assured me they would handle it from here on out and the unit would get there today. I guess because they already have their full financed amount in hand they don't care about me anymore. So I called Sherman camping world today in sherman secretary seems lost and not sure what she's supposed to do, tells me finance guy isn't there and general manager doesn't know if it's been delivered. It's a 13foot tall 30 foot long $175,000 motorhome you would think they'd know if it arrived the lot isn't that big. So North Carolina decided to call back after 3 days to say it's arrived what day NEXT week do I want to schedule for them to do my walk thru? I wasn't very nice by this point, I said it was supposed to be there Monday and then Tuesday and then Wednesday Thursday and now Friday I want it scheduled for today. You left me hanging for 3 days not even knowing what state it's in or if it ever even left Illinois. I get the usual of I understand, I'll see if I can get someone to show it today and I said I'll figure all that out myself I don't need anyone to show me what it has in it, I knew before I made the purchase. He said ok I'll call you right back! That was 3 hours ago. Am I being impatient and expecting too much? I would have bought local but this RV was about $30,000 cheaper with less miles than anything local. They gave me a 3 day window for transport last Wednesday which would have made it arrive Monday IF they don't drive on Saturday or Sunday. Anyone have thoughts? Also their website says they ship store to store for free but my sales guy said it's only for small items. This is actually my second bad experience with them. The first time I ordered a camper toilet and it took 3 MONTHS for them to ship it to me. I've been patient and calm until today but now my blood is boiling. Another bit of info is I told them my husband has to take time off work to pick it up for me so I needed a 24 hour heads up and then a 3 hour window for pick up. I still know nothing other than the unit is in Sherman now and it's not detailed, checked over or a special coating I paid extra for put on it yet to preserve the paint longer. ****AVOID CAMPING WORLD SERVICE DEPARTMENT****   Short version: Beware of being lied to and being sold services that you do not need. The technician was caught in a lie. Corporates response was weak and not acceptable. Do not used CW for your RV repair/service needs. The Service Administrators cannot be trusted. I was lied to and they attempted to deceive me for services I did not need. Terrible experience with their service department. First of all, I was never told there would be a charge for an estimate. After a week, I received the first call with the estimate of $17k for the repairs. I am very knowledgeable about repairs, so they later kept changing what was the actual problem with each issue, once it became clear that I could not be fooled. (Example: at first they said entire floor needed to be replaced, then after being questioned, it changed to just needing the supports replaced). I was especially skeptical about the supposed roof problem, so I arranged with Scott multiple times for a walk through with him (by the way he used his cell phone so that these conversations are not recorded) and he agreed to do the walk-through with me, and to get on the roof with me. I arrived for my appointment (noting the "free estimates" on the service door as I walked in) and met Scott at the service counter. He told me that I owed $215.50 for the estimate. I was charged in order to get my trailer back. I asked Scott again about the walk-through, he "forgot" despite the multiple conversations we had. I stated that I wanted him to show me the cracked roof. He did not go over the technicians notes with me. Scott told me to retrieve my trailer and he would meet me outside to walk the roof as well as inside the trailer. I hooked up my trailer and pulled it up to the service department. At this point, he completely disappeared. The receptionist agreed to get on the roof with me. Not to my surprise, she didn't find anything wrong with the roof besides a little dust. She pulled the technician notes and went through them with me, another indication that I was being lied too, as Scott did not do this. Noting that the floor didn't need to be replaced nor the roof completely redone. I asked her what this looked like to her, and she nodded when I said that it looks like I am being lied to. She apologized for his behavior.   Scott lied and was trying to sell me on services not needed. Since I am younger and am physically able, I wanted to climb on the roof. Most older generation RVers cannot climb on the roof and are likely getting scammed into services they do not need.   Corporate originally agreed to send me a refund check for the $215, since I was not told I would be charged. But they also backtracked and later tried to change it to a $100 Camping World gift card. I will not be taking or recommending any of my RV business to CW. If they are ok with this behavior to make a buck and prey on those not physically able or knowledgeable enough to verify their claims. read more

Zero Stars really! My previous review got their attention as I suggested that someone look at this pattern of behavior as a sales scheme. The short version of my issue is that when I took the trailer to set it up, I had nothing but trouble with the electric. An electrician came and set up a dedicated breaker and plug for my camper and It worked great for a couple of days. But the converter was fried and slowly the electric died and the trailer went dark. They told me that I fried it (Did not as I bought the power strip/surge protector from them that I used so They really owe me for more than that!) but they would cover the cost if I agreed to NOT talk about it and no one was going to accept responsibility! SO, they wanted me to give up my first amendment rights for a few dollars. NOPE! Keep your money and I will look at legal action to bring them to the county I reside in and everyone knows me. So, don't think that Camping world is a good place as all they want to do is limit damage. I will continue to tell everyone I can about how shitty this dealership is!! read more

Absolutely the worst place to buy something from. If I could zero stars I would! I had reservations, but they had a used Thor Palazzo 33.1 and we figured it had low mileage let's look at it. They tried to increase the cost of the coach from a listed price of 57k in Nov 2023 to 94k in Feb 2024. For what you may ask, we'll we asked the same. Seems if you do a crappy re-covering over the over fabric you can get 30k. Not to mention when we came in they said we'll thoroughly examine the coach and change/ service the fluids. After making us 3 weeks to get it after we signed the papers for a control panel, I'm fairly certain nothing like that transpired. 1. Wood screw in the arm that attaches the extending lower step that fell off on the drive home. 2. The complete ignorance in reassembing the pull out couch, they put it together backwards. 3. The awning end caps were attach with the same wood screws came loose the second time it was used. I could go on and on. Listen to me, DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM CAMPING WORLD! You have been warned. We had an rv there for several months. went to pick up and not everything was completed. Went second time to pick up I was billed for things that were caused by technicians on location in which they removed part of the charges but as I went to get the rv no one came out to do a walkthrough. Some things were done but others were still not. I spend almost $6000 and the trailer was dirtier than I left it on the inside and the anode tube was completely removed from water heater and had not been replaced. The batter was still dead even though that was part of the service package. A part on the propane tank lid was missing. I was charged freight like 6 times that added up to over $1000 but they had an excuse different parts and packaging. If these parts were gold they did not leave me the other parts but I guess used them elsewhere which was paneling. They told me they would not take a credit card because too many people do charge backs on them. Well I know now why they take money orders only because the only way you can get a charge back against you if you cannot prove the job you did and yes I could probably do the same at this point because i did a credit card in which they took at this point. It would be easy with pictures I took to prove all the work that was missed. I did not want to leave or drop off at this point because twice already not all work had been completed after 4 months almost. I would imagine at some point they would start charging storage fees or a lien or something so I just paid and left. I will fix all the other stuff myself at the very large labor rates etc for such poor work. read more

What was supposed to be a fun purchase was ruined by sleazy sales tactics, fast-talking finance people and completely incompetent sales floor employees. First of all, the salesman could not answer a SINGLE question about the RVs features without having to look it up. I was told my trailer was "pre-wired" for a back up camera, it wasn't. There were just so many issues with this experience it just ruined the excitement of my new "toy". Just looking at the trailer in my driveway, enrages me. YOUR TRAILER WILL BE BROKEN IN TO AND ROBBED and THEY ASSUME NO RESPONSIBILITY - DO NOT EVER USE CAMPING WORLD!! Our trailer was being repaired under insurance for two tires blowing and ripping through the floor. It took 6 months and when we came to pick it up after being told it passed Quality Control inspection (which it didn't they forget to repair the complete other side), we notice that both doors were damaged from a break in! Someone stole over half of everything in our trailer from clothing, boots, shoes, tools, food, pans, medicine, linens and even fishing tackle! They were sleeping in the bed, cooking, eating and even left behind their old shoes and clothing! We contacted Corporate after the manager said they assumed NO responsibility because of the waiver you sign when you leave it, and corporate would not do anything either! They would not replace the damaged doors, but they did bang them out with a hammer! The manager told us not to call the police, that they would resolve the issue, and the resolution was, they refused to do a thing! They couldn't find the camera footage because it was parked in an area where there were no cameras, as it sat waiting forever for parts! Bought a trailer in July 2022 with multiple warranty options included with the purchase. I recently sold my trailer, and wanted to speak with someone in finance about transferring the purchased warranties. The front desk lady said she was emailing the GM, guess the great customer service flows down from him. 6 calls later, not a single call back. This half a star goes to the service department. I purchased a washer and dryer here two weeks ago. The install was actually very quick (5 star) but the actual install was unpleasing. The mounting hardware holding the washer and dryer down was horribly crooked and poorly installed. The washer know was all scratched up thanks to the install team (1 star). I called the day after I picked it up and was told they would order me a new knob and would call me back the next day. I've called multiple times and got the same answer but no call back. They damaged my new washer and can't even fix it........ This 5 star review is only for the employee mike in the parts department that went above and beyond to help me. These guys were excellent to work with and very refreshing from other dealers who I've worked with and gave me the runaround. My situation is I wanted to sell a used motorhome. Throughout the entire process, Camping World treated me fairly and politely and ultimately we agreed on a good price for both sides. A better price than other dealers were willing to offer me. They made a fair offer, conditioned on an actual inspection of the motorhome, which is totally cool. The ultimate price we agreed upon was very fair to me and at the same time was a price that Camping World can make a profit on. Which is totally fine with me, they are in this to make money and I respect that. But, they weren't greedy like other dealers I dealt with and were honest and straightforward in their dealings. purchased a brand new camper from them, and while Doing final walk through we found some messed up trim, speakers and some lights that needed to be fixed, we were assured that their will be a mobile tech sent out to fix once the parts arrived. we took camper home "2 hour drive" and the next day open the entry door and it shatters. contact the store and they "submit" a claim and it was denied, now this took 2-3 weeks to get any answer and was like pulling teeth. I reach out to manufacture and they without hesitation send a door. now this is going on 4 months since the first call was made and I ended up using the Tyler Texas store and lemme tell you the difference in respect give to the customer! Alavarados store employee "Chris Korsmeier" was the gent that stated they would send out a tech once parts came in, now he won't respond to any of my calls nor the Tyler Texas stores calls for them to pay for the mobile techs fee. So if you use Alvarado store make sure you don't leave with missing parts or everything is 100% on your BRAND NEW CAMPER, or they will drag it out and screw you Out of Even more money and not return any calls! read more

I searched online for an rv supply store and found Camping World of Alvarado. Mind you, I've been to five Walmart stores seeking a heated rv water hose for our motorhome. No luck. I called this place on a Saturday and the lady on the phone said they had a few different sizes in stock. I was thrilled and said that I was on my way from a few towns away. I arrived to Camping World and the turn into the parking lot was extremely sharp and small. I was in a car, I don't want to know that that's like taking a motorhome or a truck pulling a trailer. Anyhow, I walked in and was immediately greeted by three employees. Two were men standing and one was a receptionist lady who was on the phone. One of the gentlemen asked if I needed help finding anything and pointed me in the direction of the hoses. Once I had found the location, I didn't see the size I was looking for. I grabbed the 50' as it was more desirable than the 12' since I couldn't find the 25' that we wanted. I walked around with the huge box to shop a bit more and another employee (smiling, chipper guy) offered to bring the box to the front counter for me and asked me for my name. What a gentleman! I shopped around a bit more, found a few more things and brought everything to the register. I asked the cashier about if they might have any 25' hoses in the back and she smiles and says, "I have it right here for you! " She had saved it for me under the counter as I said I was coming and they only had one of that size left. So thoughtful and kind! Wow. We're said to have a high of 30 degrees on Thursday so I'm grateful they had this in stock, helped me to get it, offered me a warranty in case of defect, and I was on my merry way back to the motorhome on no time. Thanks for taking care of a total stranger! I wished I could have gathered everyone's names who were so helpful so I can mention them here, but I can say there were more than five people who made themselves available to me on Saturday, January 29th between 4pm-5pm. read more

Bought a brand new 2022 trailer in may 2022. I took it home and the TV didn't work. I gave them the TV and they told me it would be 2-3 weeks. A month later I asked about it and they said it's not here yet. I waited a week or so to follow up. Byron stopped replying back to me. I finally got a call on June 26th saying it's ready for pick up. Once I brought it home I checked the tracking number. It showed that it was delivered on June 15th! I asked about it and they said that they were waiting on confirmation to know for sure that it was my TV. Here's another thing. Now my fridge stopped working and they told me that the warranty doesn't cover the refrigerator! Overall a bad company and will never step foot on their site again read more

By far the worst experience I have ever had! Let me start by saying that they really trick you into buying. Everything was good up until December 3, 2019, the day I actually purchased my travel trailer. December 5, 2019, the location calls us and has lost all of the paper work that we signed and wanted to make sure that we didn't take it when we left. One thing they didn't lose was obviously the check to pay for it though! December 23, 2019, one of my stabilizer jacks bent/broke. So I called and got no help obviously. I called Marcus Lemonis' office and that is a joke. Nothing but runarounds. Very disappointed with Camping World as whole. January 7th, 2020 update: guess what, no help yet. They do not want to pick the cost up of a mobile tech coming out to fix the issue. February 26, 2020 update: Still haven't gotten our issue resolved. Finally convinced them to pay for the mobile tech, but "there aren't any mobile techs willing to come out and do the repair". Still fighting this issue, hoping to have it resolved soon. Worst dealership I have ever gone to. Sales people are SUPER SUPER aggressive. Asked me to leave a deposit on nothing. Hey just leave us some money. For what? Why would I leave a deposit with random sketchy sales people. The whole lot had some nasty water running down it with bits of toilet paper in it. The entire experience was horrible. My name is Gilbert Vega Today is December 21, 2021 I have now had my trailer for 6 months I should have read the reviews for this location, this is our 2nd travel trailer we purchased and decided to go to Camping World , that I sooooo.., regret. I understand that person are busy and our salesman had another customer while finishing up with us, Now before I drove off with the trailer back in August 2021 the salesman and the service department had the list and pictures of all the things that needed fixing or replaced, and they did absolutely nothing, I was promised to have issues taken care of in the days following, waited for a call from them (yea right!!) I called and was promised ((((a call back, time and time again, they are not in, sorry I didn't know you had called, someone will call you back ASAP)))), which nobody ever did, but now I'm there in person December 10 2021 went back and talked to the service department and they said they didn't know anything, and the parts were never ordered, they still have not gotten approval for work needed, which was, half my shower wall and all caulking was yellow and the rest was white!!! In Thanksgiving we had a clod front and realized the heater/ thermostats was not working and all but one plug was working, I was told by Vino Rey's (manager) they were going to Rush all parts, and get it fixed, brought my trailer in and went back and talked to the service department and the lady who checked it in and they said they didn't know anything, about parts rushed or even ordered. I never get updates from anyone, called yesterday they were waiting on approval and they were going to call me right back, called today and still couldn't talk to anyone all managers were either busy or out of the office they said they're going to call me back, so tired of all the BS with this store . Went in looking at trailer and they stayed 2 hours late to help us find what we wanted. Brian was great! Keith the finance manager was clear and helpful. Robert in service and the service guys bent over backward to help get our trailer out for a first trip and then fixed minor issues we found during the shake down. We read the reviews and expect less helpfulness but got more than we ever thought. read more

I thought I would send a thank you to Camping World of Alvarado, TX. We purchased a Splendide stackable Washer/Dryer from them and had it installed with their mobile technicians. The Techs were there on time and seemed to do a good job. When they left we found out that they forgot to leave the bag with teh extra parts, there was a partition that allows you to either use Powder or liquid soap that was in the bag. I called the service manager Chris and by the next day he called me and let me know he pulled the part out of another new unit and I could come an pick it up or they would deliver it the next day. A few days later I realized that the bracket that conencts the dryer to the washing machine was not done correctly. I called the service department and they setup and appointment the next morning to come fix the issue. While They could have done it right the first time, I would have to say that there was no hesitation to make it right and fix the issues. Called and left my name and number a week ago Saturday 9/4/2022, was told they would be open Monday for service. Still have not been called back (today 9/12/2022). At this point you have lost a customer forever. Everyone in the store needs to be retrained on customer service values. Yes, I found someone else on Monday to take care of my issue. read more
