We made it very clear to the sales team that we were selling our home and would be living full-time in this RV. They knew this wasn't a weekend camper--it was going to be our home. We also purchased every warranty and service plan they offered for peace of mind, because the sales team did tell us "it's not if something goes wrong , it's when something goes wrong." Within two weeks, the front air conditioner stopped working; and the lights still continued to flicker. We called Fun Town service department multiple times and received no response. When we went to the dealership in person, we were directed to the service department but were told we couldn't speak with anyone without an appointment. We explained that we had already called and emailed several times without receiving a response. The representative even acknowledged that she had emailed the service department as well. Around the same time, we discovered that the fireplace also didn't work. Since we had no functioning front A/C, we were forced to purchase a portable air conditioner just to keep our RV livable. After another two weeks, we finally reached someone who gave us the contact information for a mobile service technician. The technician has been helpful and has worked hard to resolve the issues, but the problems have continued. Along with the AC issues, the inverter failed and went out causing us to lose all the food in our refrigerator and freezer, and the batteries also failed. The technician replaced the inverter and addressed the battery issue. The repair process has been frustrating because the dealership repeatedly sent the wrong parts. The technician initially received the incorrect A/C part, delaying the repair even longer. The A/C was finally repaired on July 10, 2026. Unfortunately, the fireplace still isn't fixed because the wrong replacement part was sent again. To make matters worse, we have to pay the mobile technician $200 every time he comes out. We can submit our invoices for reimbursement, but we only receive $125 back, leaving us to cover the remaining cost ourselves. Since purchasing this RV, we've had to spend hundreds of dollars out of pocket, including: $700 for a portable air conditioner. The cost of replacing all the food that spoiled when the inverter failed. Multiple out-of-pocket service call charges. Ongoing inconvenience from electrical issues, including lights that still flicker. A fireplace that still does not work. What has disappointed us the most is the complete lack of communication from the dealership. We never received a follow-up call after the sale, and despite all of these issues, no one from Fun Town has contacted us to check on our situation or help resolve our concerns. This is our first RV purchase, so we can't compare Fun Town to other dealerships. What we can say is that our experience has been extremely disappointing. When you're making such a significant purchase--especially one that will serve as your home--you expect quality customer service and support after the sale. Unfortunately, that has not been our experience, and based on what we've gone through, we would not purchase another RV from Fun Town and definitely would not purchase another Forest River.

I spoke with the salesman that stated the R/v was still for sale; we scheduled a meeting for the next day Friday May 29th. We met with the salesman at their location who got us in the golf cart and drove us to the very back of the property where there were only 5-6 R/V's. The R/V looked super nice, good sounding engine with low milage and generator with low hours. The A/C's stopped when on batteries, they were replaced. The salesman and Management even pushed 3 warranties, after turning them down they offered all 3 of them for one lower price. It seems that the warranties cover everything but the chassis. The sale was complete and when I drove off the lot I realized I just purchased a dangerous and highly UNSAFE vehicle, the steering system was uncontrollable and almost impossible to keep in a single lane. I contacted the salesman that said he would check into it. Never heard back anything regarding assistance from the dealership other than they don't cover the chassis. Also, we were told that they wanted us to let them know where we were going to have the R/V so they could come and replace the Ice maker. It took 4+ weeks before Luxury Coach in Rockwall Texas could get me in. After another two weeks without my new to me coach and $7,347.42 the coach drives awesome and don't think for a second those crooks at MHS R/V Specialist didn't know they sold an UNSAFE R/V to endanger the lives of any and everyone on the hiways. If you want you and your family to be SAFE, Do " NOT " purchase from these crooks. Lie, deny and LIE again. They never contact you about the problems they knew about.

Sadly, those previous techs just cost us hundreds of dollars for nothing. After two days of serious towing struggles, we finally turned to the service department at Holiday World, and they were a breath of fresh air. Sam, the Service Department Manager, was sincerely caring about our concerns, but he went way beyond that. He made sure our hitch was fixed properly and permanently so we could feel safe on the road again. He even came over after hours (no kidding!) with his son to make sure everything was completely squared away. This is hands-down the best service we have ever received. Even though there is a Montana service center (Ron Hoover) much closer to us in Georgetown, we will happily make the trip up to Alvarado from now on. It is well worth the drive to know the job is being done right by skilled, genuinely caring professionals.

The day we stopped by this location was short handed because of a RV show in Dallas. Went out of their way to find someone to help us and made sure we had an employee with us to show what we had come in for. It was a great team effort for those that were there. First to help was Amanda the Service Mgr which was nice because could answer more technical and maintenance type questions. When she had to take care of something in maint., Franny who is in sales showed up to show us rest of what we came to look at. At one point a service tech was called out to answer a question. Settled on a used 5th wheel which was in good shape but had a few things we wanted fixed and they even noticed a few items. Made a detailed list of items and had a call after we left for any clarifications, anything we thought of later or may have left off the list. Had grandkids with us on one visit back to look at camper again and start the deal in progress. Sheila did an awesome job of helping keep the gkids occupied by coloring with them so wife and I could devote time to taking care of business. Spoke with a tech and several others in service and parts about a hitch. Went through several and with their information was able to make the best decision for us. Ramon in finance was very nice and enjoyed talking with him while finishing paperwork. Franny was with us through the delivery process and went through everything on the list to make sure was done to our liking. Got a good walk through with a tech who was able to explain things about the camper and answer questions. Tech who installed the hitch came out went through the process of hooking up the camper and explained well how to unhook. All during this time Franny had cleaner and a towel and was touching up a few things and made the camper sparkle like a new one. To me, this Holiday World location has a great team that works together and keeps the customer in mind. This is our fourth camper and wished we had come here for the 3 previous ones because Holiday World was that much better of an experience. When time to get another one hope that Franny is still there as well as the rest of the team. Don't typically give 5 stars unless absolutely deserve it and for my experience with Holiday World they earned and deserve it.

We had to constantly reach out for updates, and even then, getting any real information was like pulling teeth. We were told that there was a buyer at one point and they were waiting on funding that would take a couple of days. After a week, I called to get a status from the sales manager. He informed me that the buyer couldn't secure the funds, so the deal fell through. He then stated that he forgot to call me to let me know. It felt like they had no interest in keeping us informed except to encourage us to lower the asking price. On top of that, they tried to charge us for unnecessary repairs, claiming work needed to be done that was unnecessary. It felt like a clear attempt to pad their profits at our expense. For example, after initial delivery to their lot, they tried to charge nearly $250 to "install" a sliding screen door that took me literally 30 seconds or less to do on my own and fix a closet door that was supposedly not opening. When we went to the lot to see for ourselves, the closet door was mysteriously working. When the RV did finally sell, they did another inspection prior to the buyer taking possession. This revealed another $450 in needed repairs (estimated before cost of parts). Seeing this, I again went to see the need for these repairs for myself. Low and behold, 2 of the 3 identified repairs were proven to be false. The third I could not verify one way or the other and ended up having to pay $400 in parts and labor. However, I'm not sure if they actually even did anything. In the end, the RV did sell after several months, but the lack of transparency and poor customer service made the entire process far more stressful than it needed to be. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone looking for an honest and professional experience. Look elsewhere if you want a dealership that actually communicates and respects its customers.

REVIEW UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2019:…read more RV Depot's owner, Steve, took time to get on a call with us personally to discuss the issues mentioned below. One of the things touched on was his dedication to ensure training was provided to his staff to ensure they are not forcing or expecting a review prior to completion of paperwork, as that should never have been a requirement. Further, Steve provided for the cost of the damage part as well as shipping, fulfilling their responsibilities of the delivery of the Puma. REVIEW UPDATE: First, before we go into this update I want to make it very clear that we were advised multiple times we would not be able to complete the paperwork and, subsequently, take possession of our RV until we showed proof that we wrote this initial review found at the bottom of this page. Is it not a violation of Section 5 of the FTC Act to force reviews prior to receipt of product, as would that not be considered an "unfair or deceptive [act] or [practice] in or affecting commerce"? We complied to get the process over with, however we want to ensure other consumers are made aware of this behavior due to what we have to add now. We utilized the company's 30 day layaway option, during which the company showed very little interest in answering our questions over the phone regarding our travel trailer and pick up arrangements. Each conversation was met with condescension and a lackadaisical demeanor. For example, when arranging a time to pick up our trailer we had to explain multiple times that we must travel up I-35 as we are from out of town and we expect to run into construction which would delay our travel time. We set the expectation of a 2 hour arrival window. The representative from RV Depot could not accept that as an answer and proceeded to tell us that he would set us up for a 12pm appointment as their time was valuable and our sales person would be busy attempting to complete other sales. Once we got to the final day of pick-up, we were eager to take our RV home and, as such, were quick to disregard the hurried treatment we received through our walkthrough. During the walkthrough a bent-up, damaged floor vent cover in the living area of our Palomino Puma was found in the kitchenette; when we asked Alexis and the technician (who was there performing other minor maintenance) about this, we were reassured this was "an extra after repair," and to disregard it. While we continued inspection we were asked multiple times prior to being clearly done with our walkthrough if we were ready to finish paperwork. Being a used RV dealer, I would expect them to understand the importance of inspecting the product. Well, a few days after our arrival home we discovered the damaged floor vent cover belonged to the gaping hole of exposed ventilation in the flooring beneath the portable carpet that our recliners reside on. Once we discovered this, we immediately notified RV Depot with pictures, asking about getting this replaced (since it is still under its 6-month warranty). This was sent on 31 July. On 5 August I followed up again, receiving a reply simply asking we give them a call. After being unable to reach anyone via phone multiple times, I emailed them again on 8 August stating the same. Their reply was "My manager said that we wouldn't be able to ship you a new vent cover. They are very inexpensive and can be purchased online or at any place that sales rv parts or hvac parts." While this may be an inexpensive part, why are we expected to cover the cost of something not only under warranty, but also something the dealer lied to us about and that was not fully looked into when we first brought it to RV Depot's attention during our (rushed) walkthrough process? Unless you have no other option than to do business with this company - stay far, far away. Original coerced review: "Great purchasing experience - lucked out with a 2018, single-owner travel trailer!"
