REVIEW UPDATE SEPTEMBER 2019: RV Depot's owner, Steve, took time to get on a call with us personally to discuss the issues mentioned below. One of the things touched on was his dedication to ensure training was provided to his staff to ensure they are not forcing or expecting a review prior to completion of paperwork, as that should never have been a requirement. Further, Steve provided for the cost of the damage part as well as shipping, fulfilling their responsibilities of the delivery of the Puma. REVIEW UPDATE: First, before we go into this update I want to make it very clear that we were advised multiple times we would not be able to complete the paperwork and, subsequently, take possession of our RV until we showed proof that we wrote this initial review found at the bottom of this page. Is it not a violation of Section 5 of the FTC Act to force reviews prior to receipt of product, as would that not be considered an "unfair or deceptive [act] or [practice] in or affecting commerce"? We complied to get the process over with, however we want to ensure other consumers are made aware of this behavior due to what we have to add now. We utilized the company's 30 day layaway option, during which the company showed very little interest in answering our questions over the phone regarding our travel trailer and pick up arrangements. Each conversation was met with condescension and a lackadaisical demeanor. For example, when arranging a time to pick up our trailer we had to explain multiple times that we must travel up I-35 as we are from out of town and we expect to run into construction which would delay our travel time. We set the expectation of a 2 hour arrival window. The representative from RV Depot could not accept that as an answer and proceeded to tell us that he would set us up for a 12pm appointment as their time was valuable and our sales person would be busy attempting to complete other sales. Once we got to the final day of pick-up, we were eager to take our RV home and, as such, were quick to disregard the hurried treatment we received through our walkthrough. During the walkthrough a bent-up, damaged floor vent cover in the living area of our Palomino Puma was found in the kitchenette; when we asked Alexis and the technician (who was there performing other minor maintenance) about this, we were reassured this was "an extra after repair," and to disregard it. While we continued inspection we were asked multiple times prior to being clearly done with our walkthrough if we were ready to finish paperwork. Being a used RV dealer, I would expect them to understand the importance of inspecting the product. Well, a few days after our arrival home we discovered the damaged floor vent cover belonged to the gaping hole of exposed ventilation in the flooring beneath the portable carpet that our recliners reside on. Once we discovered this, we immediately notified RV Depot with pictures, asking about getting this replaced (since it is still under its 6-month warranty). This was sent on 31 July. On 5 August I followed up again, receiving a reply simply asking we give them a call. After being unable to reach anyone via phone multiple times, I emailed them again on 8 August stating the same. Their reply was "My manager said that we wouldn't be able to ship you a new vent cover. They are very inexpensive and can be purchased online or at any place that sales rv parts or hvac parts." While this may be an inexpensive part, why are we expected to cover the cost of something not only under warranty, but also something the dealer lied to us about and that was not fully looked into when we first brought it to RV Depot's attention during our (rushed) walkthrough process? Take it home to our property, AC died suddenly, toilet leaks continually, tankless water heater no longer working. Door missing, missing screens, refrigerator does not get cold. These people are full of lies & empty promises! I purchased a 2018 Grand Design Reflection in March of 2020. They knew I traveled for work and had to pick it up on a certain date. I dropped off my old RV a month prior to the pick up date of the new one. We went over all that had to be fixed , replaced . They had a month to do it! When I got their nothing had been done! Did not even clean it. The fire place that was missing had been replaced with one they took out of an EV that was on the lot. It did not even fit or work. The floor had a spot that the tile was damaged, they were trying to repair the day I picked it up. As soon as they slid the slide in the flooring was jacked up again. I had some other issues that they promised would be repaired but didn't happen! In September I noticed the bathroom exhaust fan was leaking water. I climbed up on the roof and almost fell through it. I paid 40k for this RV! I called they said bring it in. I could not take it anywhere else or they would not cover any of the cost! I had to drive from Selma NC back to Cleburne Texas 1650 miles. Dropped it off told them I would be back in 30 days. They said they would call me on Monday to tell me what all they found with the list I gave. They sat on it for 2 weeks and did nothing! I called 8 times on the 9th I finally got to speak to someone and they still had not started. They do not cover any of the material cost... they do not repair what they say they will! I would not recommend them to an enemy! I also contacted the BBB. If you can do anything else I would before I went back to these dishonest people! When I picked up the RV they not only installed the wrong size fireplace so now the cabinets will not open they also ran screws through my ceiling on the roof warranty work. read more

I called to tell my complaint on the trailer they said if brought it back they would not put it on my credit if I gave them another 2500 dollars after I gave a 3000 dollar down payment . Well , the salesman was great and friendly. However our trade in unit was bid at 13k less than payoff. I understand depreciation once you drive it off the lot but similar comps on the $104k unit we were looking at on RV Trader were $30k less. I guess if your a full timer they know they have you if you want another RV. (To top off it is what it is... no negotiating... Banks don't typically loan $ to full timers) Fortunately for us, we know the difference between wants and needs. We passed on this one. It's beautiful on the inside but it started breaking down as soon as I got it home. Literally first day ac went out. It was a loose wire and it worked for a week after that, then the compressor went out. There is holes on the rubber seal at the bottom of one of slide outs. I reached out to RV manufacturer and was told it needed to be replaced not cut some more, like the RV depot service manager said. Theyre a family owned business but they have no problem putting other families on the street with their deceitful ways. According to the salesman we were approved for a 36 month loan so we put down $1k non refundable holding deposit then they take the RV for a full inspection which takes 10 to 14 days and afterward you pick it up with your additional down-payment and sign loan documents. We go to pick it up and the monthly payment is the amount the sales person said but the loan was for 77 months we put all our eggs in one basket and Feeling like we at this point have no other choice we sign the loan documents.. that was 3 days ago and have been using it the last 2 days well we go to take our FIRST RV shower and the entire gray water tank falls off the RV we can't even move the thing cuz wires and pipes are hanging and exposed! They also didn't dump the trailer prior to us picking it up because the black tank is already full. We can't move the trailer to dump the tank and RV depot act like they were going to help but is giving us the run around and not calling us back. Finally their conniving operations manager calls and admits it was their mistake while mocking my husband. They sold us a lemon and they have ZERO care that we have children pets in a waterless RV in the middle of summer and even suggested us to drive with all those hanging parts putting ourselves in danger for their screw up, 2 hours. We purchased a 2018 Gulf Stream travel trailer from RV Depot on October 2018. We were rush through the whole process being told this was the best trailer on the lot it was in new condition and then when we were told it was $27000.00 which was the price for a new trailer we signed the documents and gave a deposit of $5000.00. They had us go through the trailer quickly and then I had to come back on my own and go over the trailer and look for any issues. We have never owned a trailer so i going up to Dallas from Houston on my own to go over a trailer and have it moved down to Houston was very bothersome but My husband was unable to do it since He just recently started a new position. So when I starts looking at the trailer I found running caulk on the bottom of the outdoor kitchen, the screws to the door of the outdoor kitchen we're loose and caulked in. There were metal shavings inside the door but no one would tell me why. The back corners of the trailer did not meet, the blinds in the bedroom were ripped the air wasn't working so i told them these needed fixed before I left. Well they said the caulk was going to dry, they didn't fix the screws they did nothing about the corners nothing about the blinds and the driver who took the travel trailer down to Houston actually found that none of the windows closed and there was no battery cover or propane bottles and he made the remark. I can't believe this stuff for a new Trailer. HE ACTUALLY FIXED MY WINDOWS. They then brought me two used propane bottles which one leaked and I had to replace it. When we got the trailer to Houston we found the front door did not lock. It needs replaced. Now we have found the fallowing issues where I have asked them to correct them: After only using the oven 4 times we cannot cook in it any longer due to the flame not being controllable. I called them about this and spoke to Kendrick the salesman who sold the trailer and he asked me to send a picture via text. I did. No response. I called the manager and explained to him. He said he would get back to me No response. Bathtub leaked out of wall to kitchen area. I had to totally recaulk the tub Now the kicker. I lifted up the couch to get an item out and it was all moldy. We took the couch out and it was all wet. Mold on the wood. My husband went out to look at the trailer and the slide on the front left side the caulk was cracked. I removed the LOOSE SCREWS and the corners of the slide did not come to match up and it was all wet and moldy. Now I have severe asthma and cannot be around mold and I have been very sick we haven't been able to figure out why. Now we know. I have been breathing in mold. So My husband called the manager at the store and explained all the issues we have had and the guy tells me he wants me to drive the travel trailer 6 hrs up to Dallas on my time. Leave it there for a minimum of 7 days. He said and where are we supposed to live since we are full time RVer's? Well his response was get a hotel. First off we have all of our belongings in here, that would cost a fortune especially since we have a dog and we can't bring it up there because we don't have a vehicle able to tow it. But his response was well what do you do when you take your car to the shop to be fixed? Well I usually am given a vehicle to use from my dealership my husband told him. Not here you won't. He said. We also found out that this trailer was in an accident and that is why the back corner by the outdoor kitchen is in the shape it is. They decided not to tell us this. As of turning them into the BBB and trying to contact them 3 times since February 1st they now will no longer take our calls. So my health does not matter to them they have what they wanted a sale! Ive had my 2018 gulfstream trailmaster 2 months none of the outlets on door side work none which means can't even close slide. THIS IS REALLY A -0- STAR REVIEW - Do not do business with this company! My sons purchased a used 2015 Toy Hauler from them as they work in the oilfield so they needed a place to sleep while in the field. We showed up to pick up the trailer on February 23 and the condition of the unit was vastly different that what had been described. They did discount the unit and made some repairs prior to my sons taking the trailer. HOWEVER they pulled off the lot after closing time and quickly noticed that there were NO brakes working on the trailer. They called their salesman Skyler and he said he would call them right back but never did. There was an event going on at TX Stadium so the traffic was awful and they couldn't get anyone from the dealership to call them back. They had no choice but to tow it to my home 30 miles away and leave it as they were driving to OKC that evening. When we spoke to the GM Matt about the situation first of the week, he said WE had to get it to them to fix the brakes. Mind you this is after my son grilled him on the brakes prior to leaving with it and Matt said "brakes are working and there is no way we would let a vehicle leave here if they weren't." Well they did and then they refused to pick up the trailer to repair it. They expected US to assume the liability of towing a vehicle that had no brakes. My husband and I had to pay for a heavy duty wrecker to tow it back to them to be repaired. When we asked if they would refund the towing expense the answer was no. When the trailer was returned to them they acknowledged that the brakes were not operational and made the repair (alledgedly we won't know until my son hooks it up on Sunday). They are in the process of moving so we had to pick up the trailer by tomorrow 3/2. So AGAIN, not having vehicles that can tow it, we had to have the wrecker service bring it back. NOW that it has been brought back to my house the tongue jack has been damaged and the really good set of chocks that were with the trailer when we sent it down to them are gone. All through this process our only expectation was for them to do the right thing and they didn't. I put $1000 deposit on and RV purchase (used)...but when I got there, they did NOT fix what they said they would fix prior to picking it up, OPENLY admitted the unit was priced $3,000 over book, and refused to give back the deposit when I decided not to buy. I notified the Better Business Bureau and am currently beginning a claim to file for small claims court. I am a retired teacher on a pathetically small retirement check and thanks to back surgeries, actually living with a friend while seeking a home. Now I am even further away from getting a home thanks to this companies dishonest policies. They'll respond and state that I knew...they are lying. Service is off. I came in to look at a few trailers I had seen from the road as I was planning to upgrade to a larger trailer. After being told to wait for someone to unlock the trailer I waited about 15min and they came up with a credit application. I was told there was no use taking me on the lot unless my credit and terms were approved. I explained that I had already spoke with my bank and would bring my own financing if I found a trailer I wanted and was happy with the price offered for my trade. They told me there really was no use to take me on the lot unless they knew they had something for me to buy. And asked what my price range was, and how much i would put down. I said ideally 20-30k but it was flexible and I won't need the down payment because I'll have my own financing. They said I really don't know that there's anything I'll have for you so I don't want to waste time showing you something you can't buy. No problem I went down the road to another RV sales and ended up deciding to invest in a long term trailer and bought a 60k trailer. I would not recommend to anyone read more

DO NOT BUY OR TAKE YOUR RV TO THESE PEOPLE! They are dishonest thieves who tell you one thing and then rush through the paperwork with as many people as they can bouncing around you trying to talk that you don't catch that they have changed the condition on your contract to used and that they are selling you a camper using deferred tax forms so when you think your paying 32K for a brand new camper it's really a used camper valued at 21k and the deferred tax paperwork is done so the taxes are not calculated in the number they show you that is listed like the sales price but it's really 37K. Oh and that warranty they told you about... well likely it will be half of what they originally said now that you have signed the documents but that doesn't really matter because they aren't going to do anything y'all have discussed anyways. If you get lucky and it looks like they did it... keep looking because it's a mirage. Now what they will do while it's in for service is keep it for multiple days and use it as their personal bathroom. They were supposed to reseal everything on the camper it was only sealed to eye level. Then we took it back in for service only to get it back with absolutely nothing done to the roof but a full black tank and stains to clean out of the toilet. Since they didn't do the sealing we spoke about on the roof and didn't even touch it when we left it for service the ac drained into the roof and ceilings totally destroying our " brand new (used on the paperwork)" camper or rolling mold box now as I call it. Had a meeting with the owner who as it turns out is also the owner of the finance company. Also they have caller ID so once you have called and expressed your grievance apparently the screening process is more rigorous. 20 calls in 2 weeks between the 2 of us and have spoken with someone maybe 5 times and 3 of those we had to call the lender who would do a 3 way call with RV Depot to get them on the phone. They denied that there was any water in my unit even though it became so soaked with water it was too heavy to haul and the insurance company came out and noted significant water damage throughout the unit. If you have nothing else to do but file complaints with the FTC, OCCC, get the news involved and an then find an attorney then this is the snake den for you.
