I actually looked into quite a few solar companies before making my decision 1. to go solar and 2. who to go with. There are a TON of options it seems but really very few GOOD options. I ended up deciding to buy the solar system instead of leasing (which I am very happy I did). I was considering leasing through SunRun, SolarCity (which primarily lease) or buying through The Solar Company and Solar Universe. Let me just start by saying, you can have all these people over to your house if you want but you really are wasting your time. No company stands up to the quality of Solar Universe! I had Jeremy Lux who is their energy consultant come over and he was SO HELPFUL. I was able to break down with him objectively what the other companies were offering compared to what my goals were (obviously save money and produce solar). Once again, let me save you time and headache, if you dont want 5 different people coming over to your house trying to sell you garbage, have Jeremy consult you! He is a straight forward guy who is extremely knowledgable and helpful. He was so helpful I ended up asking him for recommendations for some roofing I needed done (which was also great). I didnt work with any of their other consultants so I cant speak to that but he was great. Finally the time came to install my solar and just like my preceding experience, the work that was done was once again top notch! It's the little details that matter from installing great looking low profile panels to painting the conduit (my neighbor has solar done by SolarCity and all the conduit is not painted and exposed, looking not great) it all looks great. In the end they were fast with the installation (1 day!) and the permitting (next day!). The only downside which isnt their fault is that it takes PG&E a couple weeks to get their stuff together before it begins running the meter back. So I am very very happy and cant wait to be free of PG&E's RIDICULOUS BILLS. Thanks Jeremy and everyone involved and I am super happy to show off my house in Livermore. read more

Holly cannoli I wish I had started with Jeremy and the entire staff/crew at Power On. We decided to get solar and I was going to get all the quotes - we had gotten three, and were just not getting answers, lots of solarese, and it was exhausting. I spent so many hours listening to sales pitches and not getting much info. I made one last call - and found Jeremy. It was a breath of fresh air. He sat with us, explained everything so we could understand it. Told us what we could and couldn't do with our roof line, our different product options, and he was the very FIRST to mention the True-up bill. He didn't try to hide it or gloss over it. We purchased our first 20 panels and then another 10 when we could afford it, and no issues or hiccups. I've told so many folks about how awesome this company is, it's truly a gem. They might be the 'big name' but that's exactly what is great. They treat you like family, and are a pleasure to deal business with. If you want to buy solar system from RePower, please pay attention to the warranty terms in the contract, and ask RePower to show you the evidence that they can really achieve the warranty BEFORE paying any deposit and signing any contract. Here is my story, hope it can help you avoid my experience. My project started from May 2017. As usual, I received the onsite consultation and proposals. Finally, I choose the "Panasonic" solar panels + Solar Edge Inverter and Optimizer, with 25 years solar panel product & labor warranty from "Panasonic", 20 years warranty for Inverter and Optimizer. Because RePowe is a small company, I have concern that the company might go out of business in the next 20 years, but I got confirmation from the salespeople that the 25 solar panel warranty(Labor + Product) would come from Panasonic instead of RePower, which is much safer and better, then I signed the contract and paid the deposit. After that I searched online, I found that RePower is NOT part of the Panasonic authorized premium installer, while only the  Panasonic authorized premium installer has the ability to offer 25 years product + labor warranty from Panasonic to customer. Then I forwarded my search and concerns to RePower, and asked them to show the evidence to offer the warranty from Panasonic. From this moment, the project gets stuck! Whatever I emailed them or called them, I won't get any response more than the words "Sorry, .... They are trying to figure it out...".  On *Sep 8th*, I got confirmation that RePower couldn't work the warranty out, instead, they wanted to offer a different brand system to me, but I declined. And the refund process gets started, but the refund is not easy. After back and forth for many times, I GOT the refund deposit on *Oct 16th* EVENTUALLY! read more

This is actually a 4.5 star review. We were originally leaning towards going with SunRun through Costco, but after a bit of research realized they used inferior materials and everything was sub-contracted out. We were referred to SunPower (Power On Solar) by a couple of friends and really liked our Sales Consultant, Mike. He did a really good job of "giving us the rundown" on solar and what it entailed and how he could help us save money on our power bill. Also had many discussions with the sales manager, Brent, who was also very informative and didn't give us a line of BS. We were still a little skeptical on how the costs were broken down, but here again, Brent spent alot of time with us informing us on what the costs entailed. The sales process went very well and everyone was very professional. The reason for not getting the full 5 stars is after we signed the documents to move ahead, communication was a little off between signing and getting the on site inspection and then installation. I know they are extremely busy this time of year and also with the NEM 3.0 changes coming soon that added to the communication gap, but there could have been more notice about when they were coming. Once installation day came, the install crew was awesome...very courteous and got it all done in the one day. We are now on the grid and I'm glad I can tell PGE to kick rocks (at least a little bit). read more

After receiving the bids and doing more research on the companies, we decided to go with Repower. Jeremy, our sales person was amazing and great to work with. He was knowledgable and very patient in answering all our questions and was not pressurizing us to buy at any time. Natalie in the office was incredible in ensuring that the project was executed seamlessly. The entire installation crew was very professional and courteous. We recently had solar installed. We got many bids and choose Repower for many reasons. First was our sales person Maria Chacon. Maria was very knowledgable and also brought Brian the owner out to our house to make sure we were completed satisfied with the plan before it began. Once our job started on time as promised their crew was awesome (Dan, Jeff, Nick and Danny) so professional and polite. We have a new puppy and they were careful to make sure our gates were shut and nothing was left laying around for him to chew. Natalie is the person in the office doing all of the coordinating. She is very friendly and helpful. Maria also stopped by yesterday (a month later) to make sure we knew how to use the app for monitoring and how to understand pge's website and the billing. RE Power is the best. We obtained bids from several solar companies but Jeremy was the most informed and had the best solar options for our needs. He really understood what our goals were and created several proposals for us to review, even a complete last minute change. We never felt pressured (we definately took our time) and he was always available to answer any question or concern we had. Once we made a decision the work was done quickly and everyone on the installation team was terrific down to every detail...such as making sure we were 100% satisfied with were the conduit was going to run and the utility boxes would be placed. I've been meaning to write this review for about 3 months now, and finally got the time to do it. I gave Solar Universe, Livermore 5 Stars because of the excellent customer service I received from Jeremy and Dan. I had my 4.5 kW, 17 panel, Emphase micro-inverter, LG 265 system installed the end of May. I've been very happy with the system so far and my new $15 a month PG&E energy bill. The panels look great and have brought my energy bill right were I wanted it....cheap! : ) I shopped around for other companies in the Tri-Valley area, but Jeremy Lux, the sales person I was working with, impressed me as an honest and hard working person. I asked a lot of questions...but Jeremy stuck it out and with no pressure to buy right away. He wanted me to do my research so I was comfortable with the purchase. Solar Universe had the better price and better personal feel to them. Now I won't say everything went perfectly smooth. There was a problem getting the black mono panels I wanted. But the main reason I gave them a 5 star, and its rare I give 5 stars, is because of the way Jeremy and Dan handled the problem. They explained there was an industry shortage on the panels I wanted and understood I wasn't happy. They bent over backwards to find similar mono panels, better than the ones I wanted, and gave me a great deal on a new quote. It's their excellent customer service and wanting to make the customer happy which is Solar Universe's (Livermore) winning combo. I would recommend them to my family and friends. read more

Solar Universe installed panels on my roof a few years ago. Thanks to Enphase Energy, if any of the panels needed to be replaced due to microinverter malfunctions, they quickly came out to my house and replaced any problem panels. They also verified performance on the spot. read more

We have used RePower for two different homes and can not recommend them any more highly. Everyone is a pleasure to work with, attentive and keeps you informed throughout the entire process. On both occasions we work directly with Jeremy. For our first home, he went through all of the options and break even points. In that case we knew our time in the home would be less than five years and lease was the better option. Everything was set up through RePower with lease payments and with zero money down it was perfect for what we were looking to do. Before solar, we regularly had bills in the $350+ range and even with the lease payments we paid less than $125 every month. Transitioning the lease to our home buyer was a breeze as well. A phone call, DocuSign, and all was done. Our new home is one we plan to be in for quite awhile and knew that we would be buying solar. Jeremy was the first person we called once we had the keys. Once again it could not have gone smoother. Jeremy went over all of the options and how much output each level of panel would provide us. Even when our selected panels were on back order Jeremy took care of everything within hours to transition us to a comparable priced option with slightly higher output, and oh yeah, came with a free TV! Not sure I have ever been so excited to file taxes and collect on the tax credit coming back to us in the Spring. If you are at all considering going solar, RePower should be your first call. Did some research into solar companies before starting this process. It seems one of the common problems is companies are quick to sign you up and slow to deliver. That was not the case with Power On Solar. They were with me the whole time without a pressure sale. Jeremy was great, he was honest that if we weren't adding an electrical car, solar wasn't really worth the investment. They helped find a roofer and coordinated and tracked that effort. They also informed me of rebate opportunities without putting pressure on, and did all that paperwork. The installation was flawless, the system worked as expected, and Jeremy was very patience with all my questions. The only negative was the TESLA salesman they connected me with to discuss batteries was very pushy, and when I said I wasn't comfortable with TESLA, they said fine. Don't let them touch your Thermal Solar, They moved our pool solar and plumbed it wrong, causing 4k in damages so far to roof, solar pipes, and house flashing. They would not help pay for any of the damages unless we referred customers to them. Needless to say, they dint pay for any of the fixes. Cannot refer them. read more

I called in to get a quote for panels, I used the name Valerie Ruiz. It went wrong from the start. I was on hold for 10 mins before I was transfered over to a sales rep. I told the sales rep I was on hold for 10 mins and he blamed it on the new guy. It gets better I told him I wanted to see how much it would be for 21 panels b/c I have already gotten two other quotes which I was serious I am a shopper I want the best deal. I also want to buy or finance if that was a option. He told me they only offer PPA's whatever that is which was not explained. I wish I wrote his name down, what he said next really was unexceptable. I told him my neighbor down the street which is true is already installed with them and she was why I was calling since she had hers already installed. He asked me to let him finish and that he didnt like when a customer spoke over him. For one I am the buyer and two I would have a serious talk with my employees if I ever heard them treat a potiential buyer like that.
