I just received a sales call from this company. The guy tells me they spoke to me and my wife about a roofing job. I asked him where that took place. He told me in Sam's Club. It reminded me that I owe the company a review. I was, indeed, approached at Sam's Club some 5 months ago and, did, in fact need roof work done. My wife was NOT with me. The sales guy had asked me for all kinds of information and I said to him that I would provide that info as long as it could be done in just a few minutes as I was in a hurry. I also told him I would not schedule an estimate if both my wife and me had to be home when they come to look at what needs work. For one thing, my wife doesn't get home until nearly 9pm at which time we eat a late dinner and 10pm is too late to have anyone pitching us a sale. I also know that requiring both to be home means a high-pressure sales pitch. He promised me my wife would not need to be there if I am the owner of the home and empowered to make sole decisions. I am. After taking down all my info, he called in to his office, was put on hold for 10 minutes while I waited and then handed the phone to me. The manager insisted that my wife would need to be home. Long story short is that I wound up hanging up on the guy who was high-pressuring me as I stood in the aisle of Sam's Club. I was so annoyed at the lies, the high-pressure tactics, and the waste of more than 20 minutes of my time that I spoke to the manager at Sam's about my experience and told her I hope I never have that experience in Sam's Club again. It was tantamount to harassment. I don't want to come shopping and have to deal with low-integrity third party sales pitches. And now they have the audacity to call me, lie to me again (that they spoke to me AND my wife) and talk over me while I'm trying to relate my prior bad experience. If you wind up speaking to someone from this company, beware. read more

Used PHRG for all new windows....5 years later the windows are all breaching due to a "manufacturing issue". Trying to get them replaced with the warranty is like pulling teeth and the customer service girl is a complete bit-h!! Stay away from this company. Good reviews are all fake. read more

I found this group highly professional and motivated. From sales, pre-install and installation, everyone was courteous and help. The company, as described by the sales person, seems to be fairly enlightened and the products of high quality. I had insulation installed and am looking forward to the effect on my energy bill. read more

We opted to go with Power Home Remodeling for our window replacement and attic installation project after spending 3 hours with an extremely compelling salesman. Apart from our experience with the salesman, I've been very disappointed working with this company. The communication is nonexistent. The project manager never answers the phone, and there is no way to leave a message. The crew has shown up at my house on days we weren't scheduled for multiple times. The second time the crew showed up unexpectedly on a Saturday morning, I called the project manager to express my frustration. He said, and I quote, "I'm sorry for the inconvenience but since you're home and the crew is already there, can they just do the job?" Ummm no? I had several appointments and plans for my Saturday and had explicitly told them that that date didn't work for me. For my next project (attic insulation), I never received a call to give me a window of time for the installation the day before my project date like they told me they would. When I tried calling, I was on hold for 20 minutes, no answer. The installation of my windows also left much to be desired. My sliding back door was taken off and left off for about 3 hours. No tarp was put up to keep bugs out and my house filled with flies. Maybe this is normal, but for the money I spent, I expected more. Lastly, clean up was guaranteed by the sales person, and he emphasized that Power will leave your house looking like they never touched it. I picked up at least 30 nails and screws from my yard and inside my house to keep my dogs from choking. Window debris/dust got all over my bed so I had to wash everything. I don't know, I just expected more for the money spent. I would've communicated my concerns to the crew before they left but there was a language barrier, and no one could understand me. With that said, I can't say much about the quality/duration of their products as they were just installed, but the lack of communication was so off-putting to me that I will probably never work with this company again. read more

Today we had a couple of windows installed, done with Power. The crew that came in was wonderful, very respectful and efficient, they walked us through the phases of the installations. We had Michael the Project Manager come by during the installation to check in on progress and to answer any questions we had. Additionally we had Alex the Quality Assurance Manager come by to have another check in on progress, he gave us suggestions on other windows he spotted that needed replacing. After discussing about the conditions of our windows we decided to continue our project and replace the remaining windows of the house with Power (except for a large bay window that we'll save for next time). We are so happy with the time Alex took to walk us through this very important investment for our house. We will definitely continue to work with Power with any future work we decide to do. read more

I'm with Colleen N - wish I'd come here FIRST..... Unfinished Work and Empty Promises. The barrage of people that come and sit in your home are all very nice when they come to your home. But when it comes times for the rubber to hit the road, they have come up short EVERY time. For whatever reason, no one can find the sales manager, Bailey Wilson when I call the number on her card. She is who promised me the delayed billing that now seems non-existent. My install rescheduled 3 times BUT only when I called to say "hey, where are you?" Installers stepped all over and ruined plants evey after I stressed to all involved how important my plants were. The stone is cheap looking and installed horribly. And the stone is the WRONG COLOR! Yes, the stone I was shown and the stone I got was not the same. I sent pictures to my project manager about the work and color of the stone siding. I called and called and called. And now after a mountain of phone calls INITIATED OF COURSE BY ME, more than enough warranty reps (among them Mike who chose to be condescending and argumentative), they are coming out 3 months later to replace the stone BUT in the meantime I've gotten a bill - to pay for unfinished work along with a promised from the Customer Service manager that has YET to happen. I will NEVER recommend Power to ANYONE. Beware of the people that canvass your neighborhood. My next call is the State's Attorney's Office. read more

We recently used Power Home Remodeling for siding. The sales pitch was great, so we decided to go with them. First, they changed the days for the project without letting us know. For a big project like this, when your house will be a mess for a few days, you need to KNOW so you can plan (leave the cars outside, etc). We knew they were starting the project earlier because they came to drop off a big dumpster on a driveway a week earlier (which they were going to leave in the middle of the driveway, blocking our garages, luckily I was home and was able to stopped the guy and ask to please place it on the side- we have a big driveway....why would you drop it right in the middle? how are we supposed to take our cars out of the garage during the week?). Then, they sent a crew of two people to do a project that was promised to be done in four days -well, of course it took longer than that. The crew left hundreds of nails and junk all around the house! I have two dogs, so I had to pick up nails every evening to ensure my dogs didn't get hurt just by walking in and out of the house. I can't imagine having little kids trying to play outside during that week -or the following weeks, when I was still finding nails all around the front and backyard. At the end, the project manager came and we pointed out all the things they needed to fix...the job was not done. Of course, they left things undone, and we are sill waiting after three weeks...still calling the customer service line and waiting for at least 40 minutes to find out when they are coming back to finish they job. I don't recommend them. You are paying a lot of money for these type of work, only to receive a very poor customer service. read more

I did not need to resort to legal proceedings, but they had more unnecessary hoops as part of their sales techniques that I had to waste my time doing. The sent a man out to "void the work documents" I had. The claimed they couldn't just cancel it or accept a statement in writing from me... they HAD to send someone out to my house to write on my copy. Of course, when the guy showed up, he immediately tried questioning my decision, and trying to figure out why I didn't want such an obviously great service. He tried to make sure the sale person mentioned all the "great" benefits of their product. I did not engage him in discussion. I simply asked him to do what he needed to do and leave. He made multiple attempts to reopen the discussion but I continued to tell him to do what he needed to do and leave. I felt like such a jerk having to treat him like that, but it was the company that put me in that position! I did NOT want to waste more hours of my life discussing something like this. They had already taken 7 hours of my time by this point. PLEASE... just go somewhere else. Don't even consider these people or let them waste a single moment of your time. Save your time, money, and sanity. If they're so great... they wouldn't need to send people to neighborhoods with their high pressure sales techniques to keep their business up. read more

My experience with Power Home Remodeling has not been a positive one and I would not recommend their services. I think it is important to share unpleasant experiences with others shopping for window installation services as this is a major investment. Power Home subcontracted out the work. The crew started the installation on August 4th, when work was originally scheduled for August 5th one month in advance. The day before they asked to come one day early which ended up being one of the hottest days of the summer. They were not able to complete the work because of an incorrect window order. While signing my contract, I was told that the Quality Control Manager would be on site most of the day. Reality was that he only visited the site for a total of 20-25 minutes maximum during which time he was more interested in selling additional services for a complete roof replacement, or anything else I might be interested in purchasing. This QC rep. never returned to the site to inspect the installed windows, caulking, cleanup or site conditions. He later explained that it was not possible as they have too many jobs to visit each day. I have since called and written to Power Home several times to let them know I am dissatisfied because of the following five reasons: 1. the window installation was not completed 2. the cleanup was sub-standard, glass pieces still in bushes, pieces of window frame debri in rose bush, screws in the driveway, 3. the caulking was rushed and does not look professional, the caulking was over applied and dripping 4. some screens are ripped, 5. several azaelas trees and areas of grass area were burnt (dead). The response on the dead azaleas was "This is unfortunate and hopefully they will regenerate". The company refuses to do anything about this issue. After following up several times, the QC representative for my region returned to my home to see the deficiencies. He said they would fix the work but he developed a condescending attitude towards me. Then it was radio silent until today on 11/11/22, when I called for an update, I was told that they still do not know when the missing window will arrive and they will not replace the dead azaleas trees because it is a chance taken during window installation. I really regret that I chose Power Home Remodeling over the many Window Installation Companies that complete with them. They give a great sales pitch prior to signing; they send 3 different people to convince you about their quality and customer satisfaction on which they pride themselves. Much to my disappointment, once the work is complete or shall I say partially complete, the level of attention declines tremendously. I am very frustrated and suggest you consider carefully who you really want to hire before signing the contract. read more

These overly aggressive A-holes with their sales pitches came swaggering into our neighborhood twice to pawn their overpriced roofing estimates. (The second time was pitch black outside.) They're trained in asking personal questions, walking through my lawn, and being generally nosy. I would never hire this company due to its complete lack of ethics. read more

Excellent job on roofing, trim, gutter, and downspouts to our home. Impressive work from start to finish. Very informative on primary concerns that needed immediate attention. Workers were on time, clean and professional work. Entire staff from top to bottom gave you us the attention and time to review all aspects of our home remodeling projects. Couldn't be anymore happy with the results of all their hard work. Would highly recommend them to family, coworkers and friends!!! read more

A couple of salesguys came to our door last week to schedule an appointment. My husband told them a stern "NO" before they even started their script but they were undeterred. The guys were nice, but extremely aggressive to pursue an appointment. They were told we already had a company and a quote, but they insisted to come for a free estimate. My husband relented and finally set up a time and one of the guys asked us to make sure we don't cancel the appointment because it really looks bad on them if we do. Okay fine. Appointment time rolls around and guess who is nowhere to be found? No phone call. No show. Before looking here, I decided that we would never use this company's services even if they were the last company on earth to provide the services we needed. The brochure seems more like a cult or pyramid scheme with its daily affirmations than a home remodeling business. Then, once I did a little research online, I saw that I wasn't alone. Now I'm glad they never stepped foot in our house based off some of these reviews. As another user mentioned, we have an in-depth security system in place, dogs, and an extremely pissed off husband for having his very precious free time wasted. Your brochures talk all about veterans, but I guess respecting active duty doesn't count. Do. Not. Come. Back. To. My. House. Ever. Again. read more

Quality of materials seem good. Things started out great. Warranty sounded good, but trying to get them out to rectify the damages they caused to my siding when they replaced my entire gutter system has been a challenge, and I wasn't a "small job" customer. I replaced all of my windows, gutters, downspouts, fascia board capping, soffit, etc. with Power Home. I guess I'm still considered a small and unimportant customer. Can't recommend at this time. :( read more

I'm surprised how negative many of the reviews on Yelp are for Power HRG. We just had a new roof and attic radiant barrier installed. I found their sales process reasonable, and their service, product, and installation was top notch. The 50 year transferable warranty was also very valuable to us. Erin Stuckenschneider was our remodeling consultant, and she was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Alex Ilie was our Quality Assurance Manager, and he answered all our questions during the installation. If you're seriously considering a new roof, and you don't mind sales negotiations, I'd highly recommend Power HRG. read more

Power r-r-r-r-ripoff ! Power Home Remodeling descended on us quickly the nigh before last. As I closed the door on their rep. the phone rang and an appointment was set up for the next day. Yesterday the salesman, who claimed he was not, was intelligent, entertaining, and knowledgeable. He quoted a price of $24K and came down to $18K. I enjoyed the show. We signed the contract. However, this morning I called two reputable roofing companies that give me signed guaranteed bids for $10K and $8.5K, for exactly the same materials, manufactured by the same company - the same everything. Without the State of Maryland's 3 day recision law we would have been up the creek. I faxed in the notice of cancellation, followed up with a phone call, and the cancellation was acknowledged by email at my request. read more

I bought windows from this company about a year ago. My experience with the salesman was similar to others, so I won't re-hash it. He was very nice, but I wouldn't say high pressure because I didn't feel that pressured other than the "buy it now at a significantly lower cost" deal. Like others, the salesman I had was at our house for a VERY long time (I think he finally left at 1am). I am pretty happy with the installation - it went smoothly and quickly. I was under the impression that they would be in contact with me more than they were, but other than that it went as planned. I've since had issues with the silver coating in the windows - it started showing through. During the sales pitch, I questioned them hard on their warranty (because they claim to replace *anything* that goes wrong) and so I figured it's no big deal - just call them up and get them replaced. They did just that. No questions asked - they showed up about a week later and replaced them. I have since had two more windows have the coating show through, so I will get those replaced soon as well (the fact their windows are having these issues already is why I'm leaving 4 stars). So while I'm disappointed about this, they are holding up to their warranty so I can forgive it as long as they keep that up. The guy who replaced them said the coating in these windows probably was not done properly and over time it shows up. I can say, the windows have helped keep the heat/cold out much better than my previous windows did (though they were definitely failing bad). I did expect a bigger difference, but overall I'm pretty happy with them. read more

So I am giving this company a 4 star rating. It should be a 5. Let me start by saying the crew that talk8mg to me about setting up the in home consultation was very nice and respectful. They didn't walk through my yard and they actually talked to me as a person not just a lead. The in home consultation was fun, personable, and no one tried to force me into a contract. I told them what i was looking for and they made it happen. The project manager met me to measure my windows and we discussed some aspects of the job. Then the crew came out and was simply amazing. They were fast, clean, respectful, and informative. Everyone made sure my window install went smoothly and that I was happy before they left. Up to this point I give a 5 start rating. The reason it dipped is the follow up meeting. I was told it would not be a sales pitch just a manager stopping by to make sure I was happy, and I really was happy. The person helped me with one small issue I found and even helped my girlfriend understand how to use the windows properly. Then it turned into a sales pitch and got a liitle pushy. Had it stopped the 1st time I said no thank you this would be a 5 star rating. I will absolutely still use them for future jobs I will just say no to the after job consultation. read more

Exorbitant - I overpaid and have regretted the financial burden of my error. Nice people, professional, quality workmanship, but they will try to charge you Lamborghini prices for a Toyota. I cannot comment on any work because I will never hire this company. I had a scheduled apmt which I confirmed 2 hrs prior. We got disconnected when I was asking some basic questions. Again, I had already confirmed the apmt. I went into a meeting and missed more of their calls. I rushed home for the scheduled apmt and called them back. They said they cancelled the apmt because I didn't answer. I said I could schedule again the following day. They asked if anyone else in the house would be present aside from myself and my husband. I explained my husband was available for the evening apmt that they had cancelled but not for the apmt I was trying to schedule the next day. They refused to schedule without my husband present. I am the decision maker and my husband is not involved in our remodel. They still insisted. I needed to hire a company before I returned to work in a week. I scheduled several other consults with other companies and purchased fiberglass windows for every window in my house along with a front door. Maybe you should listen to your customer next time rather than lose business. read more

My wife was approached in Sam's for a free estimate for window replacement and reasonably thought that what the rep offered - free in-home estimate to replace some or all of our windows - sounded good. No obligation, right? Figured he'd come over, take a look at the 30 or so windows we have, calculate an estimate and be done in an hour, 90 minutes tops. Wrong. The appointment was scheduled for 6:30 p.m. which I thought was kind of iffy but whatever. My wife called the rep the day of the appointment to make sure this wouldn't take long since it was going to cut into family time. The rep assured her that they "would be very respectful of personal time". So the guy show up, comes in and after a few pleasantries walks the house and measures our windows. So far so good. Then he sits down with us (30 minutes into the appointment) and launches into a speech about how "12 of your windows are dangerously leaking and could contaminate your home with mold and most of the rest of them need immediate replacement as well". He follows with his sales pitch that he has on an iPad. In between slides - which he lingers on forever and it all goes to basically point to how wonderful a company they are, how all others are crap and how they are also the most reasonably priced for the money spent - he asks some very personal questions: How long have we lived here? Where do we work? How many kids do we have? What are their ages? Where do they live? How many grandkids? I have been asked less questions for my work security clearance. Now I am starting to get a little put off - not only by how we are almost 90 minutes into the appointment with no estimate and dinner is getting cold but at how intrusive he seems to be about our particulars. "Respect for our personal time" no longer seems to be a consideration and the depth of personal questions is a bit creepy. Then he starts pulling out props. If I'm being fair this was interesting because he demonstrated with a heat lamp how different window structures block heat. Cool. Science experiment, I can relate. But not at 8 p.m. when I just want to eat dinner and wind down after a long day at work. So he gets through the pitch and I'm getting ready to just tell him to forget it. I asked him if he could just email me the estimate because "It's getting late" and he responds with, "No, my company does not allow us to email estimates (Ummm...WTF?)" and adds, "Oh, do you guys have plans you need to leave for?" To tell you the truth I was so shocked by the audacity of that question that I just kind of mumbled something about having to get ready for bed soon (it was around 9 p.m. by this point - yeah, I'm an early riser). I politely asked him when he could just figure up an estimate and conclude our business. He said "Give me 10 minutes" then started furiously working up a worksheet. 30 minutes later he's still calculating and I'm tired and hungry and at nerve's end so I told him we need the estimate now or we can conclude the appointment without it, thank you very much for your time. After some huffing and what I perceived as attitude in his demeanor for being rushed, he told us that if I signed up right then (I had already told him I would not be making a decision that night since I wanted to get other bids to comparison shop) the total would be $38K but if he left it would be $50K. My wife and I just kind of looked at each other as if to say "What, is this a joke?" It should be noted that when my wife first made this appointment she asked the rep if the price would be more expensive than a roof replacement (we know friends who have had their windows replaced and it IS pricey). The rep assured her that it would not be. Needless to say we thanked the guy for his time and ushered him from the house. This was not easy to do because it seemed he hesitated and drew out his departure as long as possible to give us a chance to reconsider. He kept repeating that if he walks out the door that the $38K was off the table. At this point it was past 9:30 and I just wanted to be rid of him so the word "No" was used a lot and he finally left. I immediately googled and yelped this company and was stunned to discover so many reviews that mirrored our experience: the long drawn out sales pitches; the hard-sell, pushy (bordering on rude) sales people who linger in the occupants' houses past what is comfortable and becomes more of a getting rid of an intruder situation (at one point I considered calling the police to get the guy to leave; one person who wrote a review said they did that exact thing but the rep called also to preempt them and told the cops he was threatened at gunpoint - he wasn't, the couple didn't even own a firearm - and the cops almost arrested the occupants); the outrageous cost of services. If you want to entertain yourself for an hour or so, look these jokers up yourself. Judging from some of the reviews we got off relative easy. read more

Power home just started working on the siding today. So far everything is going smoothly. I can't wait to see it all finished!

I'm giving them one star because it is impossible to give them no stars here. I hired Power Home Remodeling here in Maryland to install new gutters. Fast Forward five years and the gutter fell off one side my house! After having several contractors look at it, all determined that the likely cause was that the gutter was installed into bad wood (common practice is to replace bad wood which potentially had been rotted) or had installed in incorrectly. Since there is supposedly a warranty, we called and sent them pictures. They proceeded to state that replacing bad fascia was not a part of the contract and that if we wanted that done, it should have been in the original contract. Keep in mind that they did replace rotted wood around windows, etc. that they were capping so it should not have been outside of the scope of work. Why they would expect any home owner to know if the fascia under their gutters needs to be replaced without Power notifying them of the issue is beyond me. Instead, they installed the gutters and now refuse to cover the fix. Their reasoning being that anything could have happened over 5 years. Do not use this extremely overpriced company who will not stand behind their bad work unless you want your siding, gutters, etc., to fall off your house. read more

They come to your house for several hours and proceed to hard sell you on their products and process. They gave me a hard time booking the appointment because my wife wasn't available. Would not recommend. read more

I was working from home last week when the doorbell rang. It was these guys. I got the spiel about being in the neighborhood for free estimates. Once I found out that the estimate involved the guy coming into my home and sitting us down for a sales pitch, I was not interested. I said as much to the guy. I said new windows were not on our to-do list and I didn't want to give up time for a sales pitch. He did not take no for an answer. He then proceeded to keep pestering me about when my husband would be home, when we could schedule a time, etc. I just wanted rid of him and he clearly wasn't going to leave, so I said fine. I gave him a date and time. Then he had to call in to confirm the appointment. I then had to go through the exact same questions with the guy on the phone. Now that I think about it, I find it pretty creepy how many times they asked when we get home in the evenings. If my house is ever robbed, I know who my main suspect will be. Before he left, he said that if I cancelled, it would reflect poorly on him. Well, maybe Nick, if you had just taken my original No for an answer, I wouldn't have had to cancel. Because 1st thing the next morning, I called them and did just that. And the person on the phone was pretty rude to top it all off. Just a thoroughly unpleasant experience all around. This is the first time I've ever written a Yelp review but I felt compelled because it was just so awful. read more

I read the reviews and I have to say that I respectfully disagree with anyone who gave less than five stars. With that said, we are talking about home improvement services ladies and gentlemen! Meaning, most people don't do major things to their home when they are in a great mood and/or financial situation to do so. It is sort of like getting a prescription filled when you are sick... Anything short of immediately getting you your medicine from the pharmacist, so you can go home and sleep, is going to feel like a bad experience. For what it is worth, here is my experience: Sales associate comes in and I tell him what I need. Did he try to sell me on other things he thought my house needed? Sure! However, I knew what I wanted and I told him the same, so he wrote up a quote. After some questions the sales associate could not answer, I found myself talking to a manager of some sort by the name Ramsaas. He was awesome and helped me get everything that I needed ordered and booked. He even offered to come out to my house again if I needed him to! Fast forward to when my 17 custom Windows and custom sized French door were ready to be installed in my house built in 1954, and the install crew arrives on time! Now, I generally worry about strange men being at my house when my wife is home, but the crew chief Bart was friggin' awesome. Just a normal human you could tell was just a hard working guy. He actually just bought a house for his family nearby to where I live! I have to be flat out honest, and you can certainly disagree, because I am basing this on my own life experience. If you expect Power, or any other company, to magically fix problems with your home, especially when they maybe had been let go for far too long, you are setting yourself up to be unhappy. If you want a good and honest company with hard working people, that do good work, I feel obligated to say that is exactly my experience with Power. My home looks 30 years newer because of the work they did! Glen read more

Thanks to Power Home Remodeling, I can now check "tell a salesman to get the F**K out of my house" off of my bucket list. I won't go into details, because my experience was virtually identical to pretty much all the others here. Super aggressive and relentless sales pitch (including an almost three-hour appointment) culminating in my having to literally force the salesman out of my home. Wish I had checked Yelp first. After dealing with this company, I can confidently say that I would rather set $20,000 on fire then dance around in the ashes before giving a dime to Power for any sort of services. read more

I scheduled an estimate with this company and then called to cancel as I decided not to do the window replacement. They called a few times, I told them I wasn't interested. Then they called a few months later, and I decided to give them a shot on an estimate. We started the schedule process, and the rep says "I assume your husband will be home at the same time." "Excuse me?" "Your husband. We need him there to do the estimate." I told him I didn't have a husband and I thought it was a very rude assumption. "Okay, then your boyfriend then." Now, I understand that it may be their policy that all homeowners must be present for the estimate (I don't understand why, but that is neither here nor there). I just find it very rude that in this day and age, it is assumed that a woman can't own a home by herself. Or perhaps I have a wife (legal in this state). All he would have had to say was "All homeowners need to be present." Easy peasy. But no. He had to go the sexist route and that is why they will never get my business. read more

My interaction with Power started off strange. As I'm driving home from work I get a call "confirming" an estimate appointment this evening with my wife and is the time ok? I don't know anything about this and assumed my wife made the appointment as we discussed replacing our windows. I get home and tell my wife " The window guy will be here at 6 for the estimate". She doesn't know what I'm talking about either. She never made an appointment. I tell her it was Power. "Oh Jesus Christ! They have been calling me nonstop all week. ". Just then, the rep shows up. I have to say, the rep was friendly and personable. I told him right away what happened. He chuckled and said "Yeah, our call center staff can be.....". Aggressive? I added. I was not ready for the 2.5 hour sales pitch. My wife wasn't feeling well and never came out of the bedroom. After all this, he drops a $20k estimate to replace 11 windows!! Follows that up with the "First visit discount"... It's now 8:30 and I need to put my 5 year old to bed. None of the overly aggressive behavior that I see in other reviews, but he knew I was fairly pissed that I agreed to a "confirmed appointment" that was never booked. The shady behavior of the call center staff is the reason I give 2 stars. read more

Kind of a bunch of criminals. The guy they sent was very nice, but I kicked him out after 2.5 hours. Interestingly, through his presentation he tossed out a couple of numbers looking for a reaction, but I gave none so the numbers kept getting higher. At the end, he said a new roof for my 1,040 square foot home would be $29,000 if I signed right now or $36,000 if I let him leave. Right, well that is about 4 times what a new roof should be and mine isn't leaking or anything. He was an incredibly nice guy, but where do they get these numbers. I really think he had documents to support any price he thought I was stupid enough to pay. To make it worse, it started with the people claiming to be doing windows in the neighborhood. As I know I need a new roof I told them I won't be getting windows until after I get a new roof so they offered to give me a free estimate good for a year and pressured me to have someone come right away. I don't like being pressured and I don't buy anything more than cookies or candy from anyone going door to door. The company called me the next day to make sure we were still on for the day after. Then the day they were supposed to come by they called something like 5 times while I was at work never leaving a message. When I finally answered after I got off work I have no idea how I had the restraint to not tell them to shove it bothering me at work all day. I guess I needed a roof estimate. Now that I lost that entire evening, not that the guy who came out was not pleasant and fun to talk to, but I could have done so much more with my evening than trying to get robbed by a criminal organization. Also, I can't tell you how many times they asked if I live alone, under the guise that any other decision makers need to be included. Well, guys case my house as much as you want. There isn't anything of great value in there and my television is too large to walk away with given what you would likely get for it. read more

We decided to give Power Home Remodeling another chance and had them come out to the house to give us an estimate of what it would take to reside the house. The salesman arrived on time, but I was annoyed with how long it took him to give us a quote. He walked around the house with my fiance and took some measurements, but then he gave us a lecture on different types of siding, insulation, and waterproofing. He brought an iPad and walked us through a canned presentation (PowerPoint style) on his company. It was a tremendously long sales pitch, complete with demonstrations (he showed water proofing by pouring water down through two sheets of glass). My fiance is fairly familiar with home repair and remodeling, and I'm fairly familiar with the basic steps and products, so it was insulting when the salesman asked, "Are you familiar with X product" and, even though we said yes, he proceeded to explain what it is to us. We were also very disappointed in the selection of options. Power Home Remodeling Group seems to sell premium, ultra-premium, and uber-premium shingles with nothing in between--which is great when you are looking for something that will last and look great spare all costs. We are looking for something that is acceptable quality at a reasonable price. Price! The grand finale of the consult was the bottom line. The estimate was WAY more than we had received from others--thousands more. In the words of Yelp: "Eek! Methinks not." read more

Aren't you glad you Yelped this first... wish I had. They promised a no obligation quote that would be good for a year, but sales people are trained to offer all kinds of "first visit" and other discounts which expire that day (false advertising anyone?). After the 2 hour sales pitch (seriously 2 hours, and the sales rep said this was the shortest one he'd ever done) they try to get you to sign right away. I don't care how good your windows might be, if you treat customers like this, you've already lost my trust. Instead of answering simple questions, the sales rep would spin some great tale and lengthy explanation. Get plenty of quotes before investing in something like this, but just don't get a quote from Power Home Remodeling. No thanks! read more

The salesman who spent almost two hours was useless. I insisted on seeing the terms and conditions of the contract and he kept trying to deflect a response to that question, first claiming that the terms and conditions weren't available until I had signed the contract. That behavior is consistent with deception. The salesman also was not bright enough to not reemphasize points I considered irrelevant. We wanted to get an estimate for a side door and the initial estimate was for almost $4,500 but he could drop the price to $3,350 if we signed the contract that day. I don't think so. I patiently explained that I was going to perform due diligence on his company and that made him nervous, which is consistent with deceptive behavior. I think I'll stay away from this company. Thank you Yelp reviewers for confirming my suspicions. read more

The two people who visited to give me flyers and the two people who actually showed up to explain everything in detail all very polite and friendly. I just wish we knew that this explanation process is going to take 5 hours!!! I mean seriously 5 hours. Plus if I knew the cost of siding and roof estimate will be $ 86,950, I wouldn't sit through the process. They should explain this ahead of time so they can better target their clients instead of wasting the customers and their own time. The material and presentation seemed legit but When I said that they have a 2.2 review on yelp and why is that!? They said that yelp is for restaurants and not for other businesses. So it kind of throw me off continuing discussing future talks. And soon after they realized that I am not that much interested, all the laugh and kindness ended with them start packing quickly and leaving. Anyways I recommend shopping around, there are lots and lots of other companies who are licensed and insured with all sorts of zero percentages financing options that are not offered by Power home improvement though it is covered by others. When I asked the rep about zero percent APR, they said no we don't have it; its 12%!!! But if u pay within a year; its like you didn't pay much interest!??? But as I opened the penny saver magazine front page to the very end there were about 6-9 companies who have legitimate business with same or better credentials than power who not only offer better deals but better financial terms to pay for your future home project. I hope my review helps you deciding on your projects. read more

First off, I cannot comment on the quality of the windows. However I am going to write a review on the sales pitch regardless to try to save you a few hours of your time. I never answer the door for solicitors however my husband unfortunately does. They were 'just in the neighborhood' apparently. He set up an appointment I tried to get him to cancel and if I had known the name of the company to do research I would have decided to not be home so they couldn't do the sales pitch. First off, I was told this would be fifteen minutes and they wouldn't even come inside. At 6pm on a Friday he came over and he was very young about 27 and came inside. He did a sales pitch about the windows and went to go measure all of ours. Then tried to sell us a sliding glass door and basement door. He was throwing in shutters ' for free'. He stayed for 4 hours and even ate dinner with us. What bugged me is the sales tactics of the company. For 19 windows it was 22,000$. Then a buy it now price of 16,000$ if we signed up that day. He then preceded to take 2,000$ off if he could take before and after pictures and if we wrote a review. If it's 14,000$ make it that price not with all these discounts and buy it now. As everyone else has said he even said he wouldn't take commission. Clearly they are told to say all of this for the sale. Even if it's the best windows ever I wouldn't order because of the sales pitch. My husband was offered a job and I would never have him work for a company like this. read more

Criminals, plain and simple. Is there a negative star option? Upsold my mother who is 87 and has dementia an astronomically expensive new roof that was unnecessary 2 times, November 2013 and April 2014. Both times went door to door, explained that she needed a new roof (of course hers was fine) and then proceeded to get her to sign a contract, first time for $18,000 second time for $9,000, both way over the real cost of a new roof for her home ($5,000). This scam also involves getting people to sign a line of credit with Wells Fargo Bank, which proceeds to issue an unwanted credit card. When I called to cancel both times they didn't even ask for a copy of my Power of Attorney (!), rather agreeing to cancel a contract on the spot without further evidence. These people prey on unsuspecting homeowners to upsell unnecessary home improvements--stay away and report activity to the police. read more

Our window install by Power was a horrible experience and I will not recommend Power to anyone that I know. It all started with a crew of two coming to the house and not even introducing themselves. We constantly had to check on them and what they were doing. The window was suppose to be "paint ready", the finish job was far from. The trim did not match the edge of the window, there were numerous hammer marks on the wood where they tried to pound finish nails in. At one point they left to "get some supplies from home depot". We went into the living room to find a giant dig in our wood floor from their contractors. Apparently they dropped a 3-inch screw on the floor and didn't realize it. It left a big gouge that they "tried" to fix. We ended up having to get quotes to refinish the floor after they left. We settled on a set amount for the damage. What was supposed to be a one day window install turned into four days, of fixing mess-ups. The shingles they put on the roof over the bay window did not match, they had caulking all over our brick, they had spray insulation foam all over our door handle from coming in and out. ZERO attention to detail. We are still not happy, but got sick of dealing with them. Oh, and the best part, our $5,000 window that was not suppose to retain moisture has condensation in it almost every time it rains. If there was a "no star" rating, they would get it. read more

Never in a million years would I ever do business with this Company! They are disrespectful and unethical. The door-to-door salespeople have no respect for the families that live in the houses. They bang on the door over and over. It makes no difference if you have a "No Soliciting" sign. They will tell you the sign does not apply to them because they are not "selling" anything. Our entire neighborhood has requested that they cease to solicit in the neighborhood because of their behavior. Uneducated and disrespectful. STAY FAR AWAY. read more
