I built my home in 1983. I have lived there since. My home was half brick and half siding. The siding consisted of a concrete covered particle board. Masonite I think it's called.. Awful stuff as it gets older. Anyway, the day Power knocked on my door in 2019 was a great day because I was needing help fast. We installed a insulated siding that was installed by these wonderful journeyman that seemed to know what they were doing. Maybe I paid a little more than I should have but the results were worth every penny. Our electrical usage has gone down and rain water no longer seeps through the siding as it once did. The absolute worst experience I have ever had with any company since having a home. When they first come knocking on the door we had been discussing getting new windows so we decided to listen to their pitch - DO NOT LET THEM IN. They stayed for I don't even know how many hours and I made it clear I had just gotten home from work and hadn't eaten and they still disrespected my time trying to use every sales tactic in the book. They annoyed me so much I told them no. Well then they came knocking on my door again - I didn't realize it was the same company. Once we realized it was the same company I told the guy I chose not to go with them the first time because of the time they took. He promised it would be much shorter since they didn't have to go over everything. It was a little shorter. We decided to just go ahead and do the windows - even though I had already gotten a bad vibe from them and all their sales tactics - lesson learned to listen to your gut. Then we scheduled the appointment. I initially wrote down the time we discussed- 7am, but then I looked at their app and it said 8am. This normally wouldn't matter, but my house had previously flooded and I was staying in a hotel so I had to drive to be there. They arrived and got to work around 7:30 once I let them in. We initially hired them they told us they only take about 3 hours to install. They were in our home from 7:30 to 4pm. As if that wouldn't have been frustrating enough - I noticed about half way through - they were installing the wrong windows. And they already had busted out all the windows so they had to finish installing all the wrong ones. Honestly, I would've just kept the wrong ones so I didn't have to deal with this company anymore but it is against my HOA so I had to let them know they have to be fixed. We let them know and of course they apologized - but it took another month to get the new ones installed. Which I understand mistakes happen but if it were me running a company I would've tried to make it right without me having to chase them down and call them constantly to figure out when they are fixing them. Also keep in mind - my house is under construction so this adds another day I have to take off to make sure I can be there ALL DAY. I am a musician - when I take off I lose money I don't get paid time off. I already at this point would've thought a discount would have been offered or something in exchange for the fact they made a major mistake and cost me a lot of my own time (which I have no extra time in my life because of having to live out of a hotel and constantly dealing with insurance and contractors.) But of course they did not. And I decided just to not bring that up because like I said - I wanted to deal with them as little as possible at this point. Then once the job was "done" the power rep on sight showed me that the siding was messed up. Even though they took photos and measured (twice!!) they had no idea the frames would have to bend around the edge of the house. Which looks crazy. And in his words "this never happens." Then he proceeded to check the windows and knocked out the screen in my back window. And if you think we are done - of course not! LOL. They took all of our alarm sensors, which of course need to be removed. The guy who installed them came and asked me after they removed them if I wanted to keep them. Which of course I replied yes to hopefully reinstall them. Considering they costs $600. After all the mess of the wrong windows I didnt realize they never left me the sensors. We called to ask if maybe they left them somewhere and we didn't realize it. No response. We called again. Still no response - until we saw on our ring camera one of the guys come back so we assumed he returned them. We got home (keep in mind if was a night storms and tornados were coming through) they were scattered and most were broken on our porch. Not in a bag, nothing. So even if they would've been usable they definitely were not anymore after the way they just threw them down. So - once again keeping in mind I was currently not living in my home. And now I have windows with no blinds that people can easily see inside of and clearly see no one is living there. There was no way I was not going to have some kind of alarm. So now because of their mistake I have to pay ADT to come by and install something, have them take it off the next time they come to finally install the right windows, and then have them come back out to put on the final sensors. All costing me extra. This is when I finally decided I'm going to quit letting all of their stuff slide. I called and talked to someone. They promised they would talk to their manager. I didn't hear from them for probably a week. So I called back. They promised they would call me back the next day. They did not. Okay well I have reached my character limit - wish I could tell more of the story. Just know, NEVER use this company. read more

The window they originally installed had stains in multiple parts of the glass that could not be removed. They had to replace the glass altogether but the glass panel they used as replacement was chipped/broken in one corner and the crack is visible. I would not recommend this company. They came to my house numerous times telling me it would only take a few minutes to get a quote. The sales person was at the house for over 2 hours never left the quote was upset when I told him I was not signing with them today. BEWARE the supposed "LIFETIME WARRANTY" . We purchased windows in 2018 with a "lifetime warranty that covers anything"! The seals have now failed in 3 of the windows so we called the warranty department only to be told that 2 YEARS AGO the manufacturer changed hands and PHR would no longer subsidize the full cost of replacement of these windows from this company. (NO notice was ever sent to customers from PHR that they were changing the terms of the warranty as sold). Corporate states they pay most of the cost and they only pass on a "small fee". If we want to replace the windows we have to pay $180 each. I was also told this price "will go up" if we don't do it now. If that fee were "small", why not cover it? For as much as these windows cost in the first place, this is absolute nonsense. So much for the "customer bill of rights" they supposedly uphold! read more

I read most of the reviews, and I would say that they are spot on at least when it comes to their selling tactics. I got a knock on my door about free estimates, so I set up a consultation for 5 May 23 at 4pm. The salesman didn't leave my home until I called my male neighbor over to get him to leave and it was 8pm. They will engage you in seemingly pleasant conversations, but all the while are eagerly convincing you to purchase their overpriced product. I was offered at least 6 different quotes ranging from $83,000 all the way down to $11,000 for just insulation in the attic. Well, you can buy insulation at Lowe's and complete a similar project for approximately $2,000. His evaluation of the issues in my home was thorough and he built a really nice estimate, but I would have to be on drugs to pay $2000 a month for 15 years for a siding installation- may as well purchase a new house at that point lol read more

Was going to get an estimate and likely replace at least a few now and the rest later. Never got the estimate as they refused to come unless both of us were home. I told the guy the windows were going to look just like the old ones, and every other window in the HOA controlled neighborhood. Only options were going to be glass type and number of panes. They didn't want to come if my wife wasn't home. My wife does not sit through sales talks, never has, never will. She is only interested in options and prices which I always give her. The system has worked for us for over 35 years, They refused to give the estimate our way, that tells me it was going to be a high pressure sales situation (which is exactly why my wife doesn't attend the estimate meetings). 1 probable customer gone. If they can't be flexible on getting the work, I have to question the quality. Their way or the highway, we chose the highway. I wish I read the reviews before I wasted 2 hour of my life! Please note I DID NOT use them for any work, but if you are looking for good customer service and a quick quote, this is NOT your company! I had a rep knock on my door and set up an apt, which took about 15 min for him to ask me for all my information and then he had to call his home office where they asked me for all the same information again. The guy that came to do the quoate a few hours later was very nice, but was like a robot. They have to follow a script, no deviations, no exceptions. So even though I looked them up online I had to listen to all the details about the company. After he was at our house for 2 hours, 30 min of measuring and 1.5 hours of talking, we finally said we just want a rough idea of how much. Give us a range. He said he could not do that and if he did not finish his script, he would get fired if he did not go through all the options. We finally told him to leave. 2 hours I will not get back and we have no idea how much it would cost to replace our windows. I highly suggest this company rethinks customer service. read more

I'm really disappointed in the fit and finish with all the windows. I was told the color (which comes at a premium over white) was not a coating, but was imbedded though the vinyl on all the outward facing pieces. Insult to injury to find out out this wasn't true and then to find out the vinyl behind the screens is white, clearly visible from the street view. I really thought Pella was a top rate window, but the ones supplied and installed by Power Home remodel is anything but!!! HOME POWER. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. We have spent thousands of dollars with them. We purchased their top of the line windows, remodeled our entry way, and had them put in a "high tech thermal blanket" in our attic that was supposed to decrease our electric bill significantly. We are happy with our windows, although I feel like we could have gotten the same quality with a different company for cheaper. The attic blanket made absolutely no difference in our electric bill. When my husband checked the temperature in the attic, it had not changed since the "blanket" was installed. We have been arguing with them for four years now. Their people would come out, spend just a few minutes in the attic, and said that they had fixed it - or tell us that it is the right product and installed correctly. When they came out to try to get us to purchase solar panels from them, we were out. We discussed the issue with the salesperson, who used to be an installer with Home Power. He went up into the attic and said that what they installed was not the right product. We have a signed paper from him stating as much. We finally spent $500 and insulated the attic ourselves. It dropped our electric bill significantly. After my husband called three times yesterday, Power finally called us back today. They want to either come out and reinstall the product, or not. Either way, we have to keep paying them. We don't want the product. We took care of the problem ourselves, but we don't feel like we should have to keep paying them. What we would like is for them to apply what we have paid toward the attic to be put toward our windows that we are still paying for. NOPE! They won't do it. THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE, AND THEY DO NOT STAND BY THEIR PRODUCTS. They have a quote on their website that says, "We have a natural inclination to be honest. We're good intentioned, and our actions are guided by morality." I HAVE TO DISAGREE WITH THIS STATEMENT! Any advice would be much appreciated! read more

We never got to the estimate because my husband could not attend the sales pitch when at the initial call it was made clear we are just price shopping at this time and would not be making a decision that day, so I would relate the pricing to my husband and together we would make the decision. The guy confirming the appointment was rude and said we were not a good fit. The office called today to offer me a lower price than what they quoted. What??? lower than what? We were never quoted. Try to charge cancelations a restocking fee that exceeds Texas limitations of 10% Also there is no restocking fee on a custom manufactured product that hasn't even been manufactured. We replaced all of our windows and doors on our home. Less than 2 years in the front door (double panel glass) just shattered the outside pane out of nowhere. The company refused to replace the glass of the door. What is the point of a lifetime warranty that does not cover the glass on a 90% glass door. Now i must buy a new door. This is infuriating. We found out the windows are two-pane, not the triple-pane windows that we discussed or witnessed the sound & heat test with the triple-pane window. The number they keep posting & #2 option is no help, just a very nice person apologizing for the miscommunication. The model is just for demonstration purposes. I would give a zero star rating if it was possible! This company scammed me! The sales rep lied and said the warranty covers everything, even accidental damage. I tried to replace a broken window that I was willing to pay out of pocket because the warranty didn't cover accidental damage! customer service never submitted my request, finally called again after no word for a week and made the payment and requested the replacement be submitted. Then when I ask for this issue to be escalated to management the rep "Taylor" tries to minimize the issue and acts like this is not a big deal that I have to go out of my way after I approve work to be done, to call again only to be told that nothing has been done to fulfill my request.
