Scott exterior came to my rental house, measured the windows and recommended a window brand, they sent me the estimate by email. I was very happy with the results of replacing the windows. The crew came and they replaced 10 windows in one day and now the house looks so beautiful. I am happy with the quality of the windows and the price I paid for them. I received a two-part quote from Scott Exteriors to fix a leak on one of my rental properties. Option 1: just fix the leak. Option 2: Move the vent pipes and coordinate with an HVAC person to do a thorough job. Without contacting me, Scott Exteriors showed up on the property. My renters let them onto the roof. They did option 1 and just fixed the leak, even though the quote explicitly gave me the option to choose. Scott Exteriors never contacted me about which option to go with -- and I didn't even know that the job had been completed (or started) until I was emailed a reminder to pay the bill. My first three emails with the person who gave the quote were combative. He denied everything. It wasn't until the owner of the company, Mr. Scott, contacted me that I encountered any customer service. As a side note, the person who gave me the quote refused to give me a quote for putting a metal roof on the property, even though it is listed as a service on their website. He said that his previous employer of 20 years would do a much better job. I contacted that other company. read more

Great experience with Scott Exteriors. Lesson learned the hard way: It's almost been a year since the big storm that hit parts of the Dallas area on 6/9/19. Straight line winds hit up to 85 mph in some areas. One area hit hard was our neighborhood in Lake Highlands. As clean up began the next day, it was evident that every house on our street was going to need a new roof. The door knockers offering discounts for new roofs were out in full force. One got my neighbor and I was invited over to the conversation. The next thing you know, paperwork was signed and a new roof was completed. Fast forward almost one year later: After the rainy season this spring began, I started noticing leaks appearing on the inside of our home. Instead of going back to the 'door knocker', I called up Scott Exteriors. A local Lake Highlands roofing company. The owner, Kirk Scott showed up the next day. After examining the work that had been done, it has been determined NONE of the flashing around all of our exhaust fans on the roof had been flashed correctly. Furthermore, the gutters were not hung correctly which has already caused water damage in the form of wood rot. The next day Scott Exteriors solved all of our problems with the roof. I can not recommend Scott Exterior's enough for all of your roofing needs. Get it done right the first time, and you will save thousands down the road. I had a small, pain in the ass gutter problem. I contacted Scott Exteriors and Doug Moon contacted me by phone. We discussed my problem, Doug came by within 24 hours, looked at the gutter situation. He called me with two solutions. He offered me two choices, repair a gutter leak that looked like it had been attempted to be "fixed" multiple times before I purchased the property or replace the gutter section. After our discussion and Doug's suggestions to keep costs minimal, I chose to replace the damaged section. 48 hours later the section was replaced, you could not tell anyone had been on my property, no trash, nothing! Last year I hired Scott Exteriors to install all new windows (34) and siding (Hardie-Board) on my house. It took them about three weeks to complete it and they did an excellent job. Their crew was professional and every morning the foreman would brief me about what they planned to work on that day, and when they finished, I was quite satisfied with their work. Also, their pricing was very reasonable. And, from a customer service standpoint, this company is also superb. During the cold spell last Christmas, it was apparent that some of the new windows were defective (no fault of Scott Exteriors). I sent them pics & info, and they came out and inspected as well. The windows had a warranty but it did not cover the cost of installation. However, Scott Exteriors graciously covered that cost. I cannot say enough good things about this company & highly recommend them! I do have a caveat tho: do not purchase Don Young Windows! They were extremely reluctant to replace their defective windows (18 of them) and were difficult to work with during the process. Many thanks to Scott Exteriors for handling that mess! After an extremely heavy rain I found out I had a couple of leaks in my roof. After finding out that plugging the leaks with my fingers wasn't nearly as fun as it looks on cartoons I decided to call a professional. Scott Roofing came recommended by a family member. Someone came out to give it a look. He told me all the things they'd need to do and I was worried it was going to be really expensive. He gave me the quote right there and it came out to about $500 (phew!). A few days later a crew came out and made the repairs. They seemed to do quality work and they cleaned up after themselves. The original guy came back to inspect their work and collect payment. He even gave a friendly suggestion about some damaged duct work in my attic, which they don't work on. I appreciated it. It hasn't been long but the roof hasn't leaked yet. I'll update this if it does, but I'm betting it won't. I'd definitely recommend these guys if you need a roofer. read more

Fantastic! Patrick Pearson, our salesman, showed us several types of roofing that he recommended, and we chose a DaVinci roof, which was beautiful. The work was completed in 3.5 days without a glitch. Patrick has a dedicated crew of 8, all of whom arrived at 7:00 am each day and worked very hard and very well together. (The same crew has been with Patrick for 8 years.) They also assigned a quality control person who regularly checked with us and kept a close eye on the work. The result is amazing! My husband and I agree that we've NEVER had such great customer service; everyone was very professional. During the work, a couple of people came by to get Patrick's contact information; one of them said they had been watching how well the crew worked together and were very impressed. read more

We had pieces of wood from our soffits on our roof that were dangling off. Every time it rained it got worse and worse. The previous owner had patched it and panted it to look nice, but did not use the correct wood. Scott Exteriors removed all the old rotting, wood, replaced and painted it. It looks great and the workers did an excellent job cleaning up all the old wood that was removed. Now the house is protected from varmints and the elements. Excellent work product for our new 3D shingle roof, what's more important is customer service after the installation and after we paid, there were a couple of minor issues ( dented gutter, damaged landscape light), we called Tony and they were Johnny on the Spot on customer service, coming right out and taking care of the issues. Kingsley also great with customer service as he came out after the job to do a walk through including walking in our attic to make sure everything was good. Following a hailstorm, we needed new gutters and decided on Scott Exteriors after reading several good reviews. I liked that they insisted on providing a quote before seeing the insurance proposal; and when their quote came in a bit high, they worked with us to make sure we could get the work done. We called Scott Exteriors after north Texas had experienced a record amount of rain. It was perfectly acceptable that this company had received more than 800 calls, and that it might take until the following week before we got a call back. Nobody called, so we called back again-twice-and was told that our names would be given to the guy (not naming him), again. Our neighbor said that they do good work at a decent price. It has been two weeks. We are going elsewhere and will, unfortunately, not be able to review the quality of their work. Maybe they are still busy; maybe it's just poor customer service. read more

We would not recommend using Scott Exteriors if you are considering having your roof repaired or replaced. Three weeks later on a "one-day" roof replacement and we are still waiting for caps/vents to be replaced (the chimney chase cover is just a piece of sheet metal and took two weeks to replace such a simple thing that was measured beforehand). Never before have we had such a horrible experience with a company. We went with Scott Exteriors based on our realtor's referral. We were promised in the first line of our quote that the landscape and premises would be protected. We still, however, wrote an email ahead of time asking that everything be really well protected. We even offered over the phone to put out our own tarps, but we were continually told everything would be covered. Not a single covering or tarp, though, was laid down as thousands of pieces of asphalt, rusty nails, roofing shingles (often in tiny pieces), and old staples were hurled down directly on our newly planted bushes and grass, as well as our children's play area. For weeks we have been combing the area only to find that we will never be able to pick up all of the little pieces. Instead of being apologetic, their rep Patrick changed his story and literally said to me on the phone, "It's a major construction site" as the reason we were forced to deal with thousands of old rusty nails and debris that damaged our garage door, security camera, bushes, pavers and left our yard unusable for children. NO, Scott Exteriors, this is not any old "major construction site;" this is our home and should have been taken care of as promised. The fact that today it was still referred to as a "major construction site" by the company amazes us. This company is full of the most arrogant and rude people you will ever meet. The work was at first sloppily done in one day with large materials left in our driveway and backyard for days afterwards which we had to call and ask to be removed. It then turned out they punctured a gas line (which required the removal of a closet ceiling drywall to get to), and shoddily touched up the marks left by them on our siding with mismatched paint, left large grease spots and scratches in the driveway, left asphalt marks on the pavers and all over the facade, and only replaced HALF of the vents & caps they promised in person to replace. It then took those two weeks to have one piece of sheet metal installed on our roof for the chase cover even though we were informed of the corrected dimensions two weeks earlier (they should have measured correctly before the project). We are still missing caps and are having to fight for each little vent with the most arrogant people in the world. The workers who have seen the site all tell us readily that our flue caps are original, but we got an email from the company stating they were all replaced. What?! You can see that they left old vents and caps and left our chimney open and exposed for two weeks (including during hail storms) for a new chase cover. They act like you should be thankful for their shoddy efforts (such as the fact they painted over their own damage on our recently painted siding with ugly, mismatched paint that left huge blotches or the fact they spent a few minutes coming back with the same inadequate magnet to pick up a few nails when the truth is the nails should have fallen on tarps to begin with). Never again. We want our home back. We held off on writing reviews, but we have lost patience and do not want anyone to have a similar experience. read more
