He's one of the expert baristas here, he's able to be very creative with drinks and make everything on and off the menu. In my case I usually don't like ordering coffees off the menu because I'm not your stereotypical coffee person, I don't like coffee as it's supposed to be enjoyed. And so I gave santi a long winded description of the kind of drink I dreamed about, that didn't even make sense, and he came up with something in his head and made me one of the best drinks I've ever tasted, curated down to my sweetness profile. A little coffee shop in my area is a welcomed addition to Shoppers Lane. It is listed on Yelps Top 10 coffee shops in the area. I didn't have my mind made up on what to try, but quickly focused on Pumpkin Cream Pie Latte on the menu. Keith informed me they make the pumpkin puree in-house. I was sold, so much better than a simple dash of pumpkin syrup. He asked if I would like Pumpkin Pie Cream Whipped Topping added. Heck ya! The drink was great! On Sundays, they have a "pop-up" mini breakfast burritos available until they sell out. I'm making a note to go earlier next week to give the food a try. Came here a couple more times since my first visit and I order the same pumpkin pie latte each time. The drinks have been consistent each time. I have also tried a morning bun and everything pull apart. Morning Bun is like a little cinnamon roll without all the frosting; definitely a favorite of mine. For my drink, I got the pour over coffee. It took about 5 minutes or so before it was ready. It was delicious and vibrant coffee that helped me get through the morning! There were a few seating available itself and two spots outside the store. There was an outlet available as well. Restroom is a shared one with local businesses down the hallway; make sure to grab the key from the staff. American Express is accepted here. I got the Dulcita with sweet cream on top. My first coffee came out sour but they were helpful and offered to remake so this review will be for the remade coffee. The Dulcita with sweet cream 5/5, made the consistency like an Einspänner. It was surprisingly not too sweet and has a hit of cinnamon taste. The cafe is in a cool (temperature) spot with lots of clean and comfortable seating. The first coffee took a while to make and I waited around 20 minutes which is why overall my experience would be a 4/5. Stumbled here needing matcha before running errands. I love going to try new cafes and luckily this is a spot next to my favorite record store! Food/Drink: I got the matcha latte and it was alright. I usually drink coffee with no sweetener but be aware this place charges $1 for a sweetener. I found this to be a little absurd especially in Covina, in a tired plaza. This ain't art district... where rent is much higher. Your sweetened coffee shouldn't cost nearly $8 for a OK latte. As others say this is too much of milk. It is pretty new so they don't have the name of the coffee shop up top yet, but it is printed on the glass. When I arrived, I think they had just opened up. Now onto the coffee- it was ok! Not the best latte I've ever had, but both the hot and iced brown sugar lattes were good. I arrived at Pouryou Coffee (Covina) on Sunday (around 8:28AM). Parking is easy. There's a big lot with plenty of parking. Staff is very charming and professional. Staff spoke effortlessly with a bright smile. Staff is very knowledgeable, and Staff worked hard. My drink took about three minutes. As mentioned, I ordered the Iced Latte ($6) with Brown Sugar Syrup (additional $1). In addition, it's a 16oz cup with two shots. I felt awake and alert after sipping. The coffee is also not watered down nor bitter. Rather, it tasted very FRESH. It flowed like cool silk with an almost honeyed sweetness. I felt tears slowly well up as I continued to drink. On ambiance, Pouryou Coffee (Covina) is modern while providing utility. There's about five accessible electrical outlets. There's also customer internet with password; customers must talk to staff for details. Also, the business is very clean and shiny. There's even a self-service water station in the corner. In addition, Pouryou Coffee (Covina) has about three round tables, three miniature stool-sized tables, and one counter. There's also two outside tables. However, if you need to use the restroom, customers must talk to staff for the restroom key; the restroom is slightly outside and nearby. There are both indoor and outdoor seating, and the weather was cooperative (at that time) so we were able to sit outside, which allowed more breathing room. There are a few seating areas inside but it is still a bit on the small side. As we were there, there was also someone taking wedding/formal bride photos as well. Espresso Tonic $7 Since we were seated outside, they did actually bring my drink to me, which was very kind. I wouldn't have been able to hear otherwise since we were outside. Overall, coffee was good and their baked goods display looks delicious! My friend ordered a matcha (which she liked and it is not easy to do) and a croissant. She liked both as well. By the time we left, hours later, their baked goods display was mostly empty and my friend ordered a few items for her husband. What a pleasant coffee shop! It's so clean and nice. A great place to enjoy coffee, catch up with a friend, etc. There was plenty of parking nearby, especially on a weekday. They use Counter Culture coffee beans, which honestly I haven't had great experiences with counter culture coffee, but I like that Pouryou coffee uses a dark roast for their espresso drinks. The aesthetic Pouryou has is cute. Definitely reminds me of a vibe that some coffee shops in LA have, but it's not quite there yet. It seems like a lot of people love their drinks, especially with the cream top. I wish they had more variety of milk besides dairy and two kinds of oat. Personally, I do not think their menu clearly specified these milk options on the menu -- only mentions "(brand) oat/(brand oat)." I ordered just 2 drinks, including one milk change on one drink and that rang up to $20. Seeing that total, I immediately thought to myself: "these drinks better be the best drinks I've had in a minute to be worth these prices." Sadly, they are not.
