UPDATE FOR SERVICE FOR JUNE/13,3025: What can I say? This is definitely my go to location for service to my vehicle. Yes. I purchased a vehicle certified used in 2016 and have done all my servicing, including oil changes with Poughkeepsie Nissan ever since. In full disclosure, I am not a fan of the sales organization based on my purchase back in 2016. That may have changed so I cannot speak to that. This review is regarding the service team Led by Danny Tubbs. Maria is a beacon of light even when she has to deliver unfortunate and sometimes expensive news. She is no Grim Reaper - just doing her job to keep the vehicle safe. And I do trust them. This time around was for basic maintenance - oil change, and New York State inspection. I asked them to take a look at the air filter to see if that needed changing which would've added to my costs. They did so and told me that my air filter was perfectly fine, particularly since I'm not a smoker, I believe. I did need a rather expensive repair to the suspension which required ordering parts and leaving the vehicle overnight. I wasn't in need of it that day so I didn't ask for a loaner which they may have offered. They automatically offered me a ride home and a ride back when the vehicle was finished. This service is very helpful and the two drivers are extremely professional and pleasant. They don't expect it, but it's nice to tip the drivers whatever you can. I'm sure is helpful. This may be a big shop with corporate name put in this case, They never forget my name or my face even when I put on a few pounds. So it feels like an old school neighborhood repair shop to me. The only negative I can say is that I wish they would turn off right wing media. It's upsetting to me. I don't think that's the Service Department decision but rather the Dealership management. So Management, please change the channel for us. read more

Absolutely amazing job by saleswoman Brittany Rice. BUYERS PLEASE HEAR THIS: I had scheduled to see a specific car, but by the time I drove 45 minutes to their dealership, the car was sold. Brittany was there, she was ready to show me others but I insisted I wanted that car. Instead of her pushing me to stay and look, she saw how badly I wanted to buy a vehicle within my price budget So instead of the classic car sales tricks, she said "no problem. I purchased a car 3 mths ago, no issues at all, other than the awkward 15 min of them trying to sell me a warranty and me repeatedly saying no about 25 different times. But other than that it was actually a pleasant car buying process. They gave me a free oil change. 3 mths later I go to get my oil changed on a Monday , no issues, no cost. I leave and go home .Tuesday and Wednesday I sporadically would hear some sort of weird sound but it wasn't the whole time I was driving but granted I didn't drive far and I had music on , I turned the music off but of course I couldn't get the noise to replicate so I'm thinking maybe I'm hearing things or maybe it was the music. Thursday I'm driving on 84 and everytime I drive over where the road joint is ( like where the road connects to the overpass) I hear a loud scraping. I get to work and get on all 4's and see something hanging ! I call them up and immediately make an appt for the following day . I go and they say oh it looks like you hit something and it hit your heat shield . I 100% did not hit anything! My car was perfectly fine before I brought it in. It's clearly been hanging for 4 days since I had my oil changed of course it's going to look like it's been hit! He said we would have noticed if it was like this when you came in for your oil change and brought it to your attention. So after a "free" oil change Now they expect me to pay for parts and labor to have it fixed?!? Highly unsatisfied with their service department. I do NOT recommend . Very disappointed with this dealership. We literally just came home with a car from there. We were told they conduct a 36 point inspection before pick up. The car has a tiny crack in the windshield- not to mention we were also told it would be detailed with a full tank of gas. When we left, there was a half tank of gas and the salesperson told us they only fill the tanks halfway for used cars. We also had to haggle for a 2nd key, as they told us the car was only turned in with one. The original and only key was covered in tape, which the salesperson took off when I asked about it, and by the time my son drove the car home, the key fell apart. We are shopping for another car for our younger son and my husband is ready to trade in his car. We were considering buying both from there but that will never happen. I hate shady dealerships. This Poughkeepsie location did an excellent job of following through on their word of upholding my contract of the lifetime powertrain warranty of my vehicle that i purchased from this Nissan dealership in 11/2015. I brought my pathfinder in for a routine oil change and replacement of a serpentine belt on 7/26/25. Zack was the representative that took my initial call to schedule my Saturday appointment. He was very polite and courteous. After the service was complete Mark reached out to inform me that upon closer inspection of my car I was in need of a new transmission gasket. Mark conducted himself professionally and was clear in communicating the process to investigate if this new repair would be covered. I have serviced my Nissian for routine maintenance at this location since 2015 and have maintained my customer records of the service completed on my car. There was a concern I did have during this visit regarding my warranty that I needed to be addressed and investigated for. As a customer there are times during a business/ client relationship further escalation is needed and there are bumps in the road. Since I have a lifetime warranty, I am one of those clients that is maintaining that long term relationship. I appreciate that Phil the general manager of the Poughkeepsie Nissian was able to take my call and absorb my concern regarding my warranty still being in effect. Service manager Vinny Distefano, whom has helped me in the past reached out to me and listened to my concerns regarding the warranty. I want to point out he exercised patience, respect, professionalism, and empathy that made me leave that dealership as a valued individual. I was not an easy client this visit, and was frustrated at times just like anyone would be. He took care of the repair, discovered another needed repair which displayed to me that safety is a top concern for Nissian which made feel good. He requested sometime to get back to me which is reasonable, but wanted to make sure my immediate concerns for the visit were addressed which they were. Vinny took care of me, and left me feeling that this dealership is making good on their promise of our original contract. It's the people that make the business, and people like the crew at the route 9 location are resilient and come out redeeming their name with me each time. read more

I purchased my 2012 certified used frontier back in 2021 for PK Nissan... upon sale I was told I would have PK Nissans lifetime limited power train warranty, well I recently had a mechanical failure (the factory weld on the exhaust manifold failed) that according to the nice little brochure I was given regarding the warranty should be covered, however when I contacted the warranty department they told me one that my truck does not have the warranty and two even if it did the issue I'm having still would not be covered although the paperwork I have states that the warranty program does in fact cover intake and exhaust manifolds read more

Reviewing Poughkeepsie Nissan's service department. I went in for an oil change and tire rotation. After waiting, the Service Advisor told me everything in the vehicle looked good, except my cabin air filter was dirty and something about needing a coolant flush. $80 for the cabin filter, $160 for the coolant flush. Like a dummy, I agreed to the coolant flush, but said no to the cabin filter, because I could change it myself, like I did a few months ago. When I got home, I said, wait, why would I pay for a coolant flush on a car that's still under warranty and nearing the end of its lease? I went to the owner's manual and saw that coolant doesn't need to be changed until 105k miles! I'm at 33k. Further, I popped out the cabin air filter and it still looks almost brand new. This made me review the dash cam footage from my car and it showed me that the technician never even checked the cabin filter! How can they sleep at night knowing that they're blatantly lying to customers and ripping them off? I will not be back. read more

brought my 2017 sentra in for rear brake shoes, after an hour i was told they had to use after market shoes and i would have to buy new drums or brakes will rattle, aside from that they said i needed a wheel alignment and brake fluid flush. well after working for aamco transmissions for 25 years i heard all the shake down lines. i said pull the car out now. i went to jimmys auto they installed after market brake shoes and the stock drums were perfect no need for new ones. no rattle at all by the way. the alignment of front end was also dead on perfect, and condition of brake fluid was perfect. nissan has lost me as a customer! read more

Terrible experience I would caution anyone from buying here. I'm writing on behalf of my father and sister's experience here. My sister bought a 2008 Versa more or less 2 months ago. You would expect a car from 2008 to have issues, but little did we know we were buying her a huge lemon. The car came with a brand new inspection sticker... briefly within the first few days of driving a check engine light came on. After back and forth visits to the dealership and the facade of them "trying" to fix the car, problems kept occurring and the check engine light stayed. It reached such a dangerous point that her car turned off in traffic and she was almost hit by a truck (mind you this was after they said it was fixed for the 5th time). The problem here is they sold her a lemon and refuse to make things right by taking the car back or fixing it properly. But it is clear the bottom line here is all they care about and bolstering their bottom line even if that comes at a cost to public safety as I just mentioned in my sister's experience. This has to make you think if they don't care about the consumer as it pertains to this low end $5500 purchase, what makes you think their newer cars have any integrity. My sister is currently in med school studying to serve underserved communities. She's the type of person that makes do with less, but this just isn't tolerable. After this terrible and life threatening experience, we are going to file complaints with the better business bureau, petition claims with the attorney general, and communicate to all outlets where consumer protections are heard. read more

Do not, and I repeat, DO NOT lease or buy a vehicle from PK Nissan. Looking back, I was pretty unhappy with the initial transaction in leasing our vehicle back in Dec 2022 but the return of it in August 2024 has caused me serious headaches. Long story short, we were unhappy with our Frontier so we went with Chevy. We arranged for the return of the Frontier at the end of August 2024. I confirmed it was returned but they failed to ground the vehicle until September 11,2024 (conveniently the day after Nissan finance told us during a phone call with them on 9/10/24 that they would contact the dealership to see why they had not yet grounded the vehicle). In early October 2024 we received a bill from Nissan finance seeking an additional month payment on the Frontier. We sought to dispute it because we did not have possession of the car at all during the month of September. Nissan Finance told us to request a copy of the odometer statement from PK Nissan and assured us that dealerships should have copies. Well PK Nissan destroyed the odometer statement when the grounded the vehicle. This was the proof Nissan finance needed to waive the charge and they destroyed it! Not to mention that dealerships are required by federal law to retain odometer statements for 5 years. (49 CFR 580.8, for reference). Buyer/lessee beware! You too may get additional charges as result of the negligent and unlawful behavior! read more

Please do not go to Poughkeepsie Nissan for a used vehicle purchase. I bought a 2017 Nissan titan from them in April. Within the first month of ownership I had noticed a upper oil pan leak. I brought vehicle into dealer when I was told it was a 9hr labor job. Some how a 9hr job turned into a 7 week job where I was told I needed a new engine. Turned out it was a fuel pump. When tech dissemble vehicle they forgot to install part of fuel pump back in truck we late found the part laying on the skid plate of truck. They had to remove skid plate on truck which the bolts had broken in farm. There answer to this was zip tiring my skid plate back onto frame instead of using bolts. They said they would give me a truck payment since they had the truck for so long which never happened also. A couple month go by and check engine light comes on. This time for a cam shaft position Sensor which I'm told will be $900 and not covered under warranty. I bought a extended warranty that was suppose to cover truck bumper to bumper which sales staff sold me. So I ended up having them fix this issue. Not even ten miles from leaving dealership the same code comes back on and this time they reset computer and did nothing. Please do not purchase a vehicle from this dealership. If you want to get into an accident or die on the road this is the place for you. Not only did the poughkeepsie Nissan give me a faulty two year old battery when I went for service in May 2023, they refused to replace it with a new one in April 2024 when I had warranty. This dealership had my vehichle for 2 days and said the battery was perfectly fine allegedly. Not longer than a week after, I needed a jump to start the car. I took my car to a reputable mechanic and I was informed that this Nissan brand battery was corroded and dated two years old "2021". Do not go to this dealership, very unprofessional. read more

My car needed an inspection, I brought it to Firestone, they told me that I my car wasn't safe and that I would need to pay almost $4,000 to fix all the issues. They took my sticker off, and told me that I needed to get the work done. I told them NOT TO TOUCH MY CAR! I took my car to Poughkeepsie Nissan, because I had to go back to work, they had a driver drive me back so that they can have time to inspect my car. I only needed tires, my car was fine, Pough Nissan, picked me up from my job and drove me back to the dealership to pay, but because my car wasn't ready (they had to get the tires from somewhere) they drove me to my second job. When my car was ready, they then had someone drive my inspected car with its new tires to my place of employment. WHAT PLACE DOES THIS!!! I felt like family. My review is for the service center. I had my car in a few times for service. It was easy to make the appointment and just drop of the car. The work was done in a reasonable amount of time. When it was finished they gave me a call right away to let me know and there was no pressure to rush over and pick up the car! The work is not cheap but that's not them- that's just Nissan. My check engine light was on for over a year and another mechanic could not figure it out. I was impressed that they found the solution within an hour and happen to have the replacement part on hand. I'm currently leasing a 2019 Sentra, my brake lines went bad after 24,000 miles, had to get it towed from my home. Their roadside assistance is "24 hours" but only if you call before 8pm , other than that there's nobody who can get your car..even if you tell them you're willing to wait up until 2am. Got another call back at 2am saying they couldn't find anyone and they would schedule a Tow driver to come at 6am. The following morning, I got a phone call at 5:57am asking when I wanted them to get my car because nobody was available for the 6am time slot I selected. I said as soon as possible, then at 10am the driver finally showed up,exited a "enter only" road, and somehow locked my keys in the car (which Nissan told me could not happen at the time of me leasing the vehicle and even showed me how the car beeps at you) so I had to go down with the spare. they replaced my brake lines and I had asked them to do my oil change and tire alignment. The woman said she had a coupon for both to be $71, I thought "cool, I have $11 in service points I can use too." Got to the dealership, nobody's wearing a mask, and it turns out you cannot use points that you've earned on top of coupons, which I personally think they should have done anyway just based on my brakes dying at 23k miles. I can't wait for this lease to be over. My car has stalled three times, it sputters, and it's just been hell all around. This is my first Nissan and I'm NOT impressed. read more

Don't go to the pk nissan dealership. They totally suck and attempt to scam everyone they can. They illegally removed my inspection sticker (that was good til the end of the month but i was trying to get ahead of things) and then tried to withhold my vehicle by telling me I needed to spend $720+ for a new tie rod in order to get a new inspection. My phone died and they refused to let me get my phone charger from my vehicle. Had I not gotten someone kind to lend me a charger, I would've been stranded. Once my phone charged enough, I got a man on the phone. They wouldn't release my vehicle without speaking to him, even though he said all the same things I told the dealership. Maria and Danny in services are sexist scammers. I'm bringing my car to another spot for inspection. Nissan will not be getting any more money from me. I don't even know where to begin somehow I ended up choosing them to put a transmission in my car. They wrote in the paperwork that the customer said check engine light was on which I never did. They said that the code showed a purge canister valve need to replacing at $300. Service manager Danny also said that they discovered an oil leak that I had a cracked timing belt cover it was leaking oil. When they cleaned the dried up oil off the cover there was no crack so he wrote that oil off to a previous leak. Don't mind you I've never had an oil leak issue with this car so I don't know. What I do know is that if you suspect that there's a leak wouldn't that lead you to check the oil? If you did a 20 some odd point inspection as indicated on my paperwork wouldn't checking the oil be one of those points? So the day after getting my car back home and it was sounding a little louder than normal and there was a slight vibration in my steering wheel so I checked the oil just to see and I was a quart and a quarter low. So I put a quart and a quarter in and car still seemed loud and so I went to Jim's mufflers and he said yeah after I told him what had happened in the last week with the transmission and he said yeah they most likely did this ( broke my exhaust 216.00 to repair) when changing transmission The original quote that I got to put the transmission in with 3,081 that went to 3281. For the record Jenny at Kingston Nissan was prepared to beat the 3081 quote and give me a loaner car for free but against my better judgment I went with Poughkeepsie basically because the loaner car wasn't a deal breaker. I also could have got a remanufactured transmission from Smart transmissions with a 36-month unlimited mile warranty versus the 12-month 12,000 that I got from Nissan. Again my bad for trusting these people with my car. 10 days after getting the transmission in my check engine light goes on and it's for the same code (p0456) purge valve canister leak. I was going to take it back over there but the old saying fool me once shame on you for me twice shame on me. Today I'm driving and the check engine light came back on and I was in the parking lot of the Hudson valley Mall and the car stalled. I started it again it's stalled right out. I turned the AC off and started it and I could move it about 5 ft and it would stall. So needless to say it's on a flatbed to my mechanic. One other thing in closing I had to pay I think it was $45 for a rental car -9-dollar discount that Danny the service manager gave me yay Danny but in the glove box of the same car was renter before me who got it for $30 a day so did I really get a deal? Car salesman service managers and lawyers all in the same family. I would never go back to this place again if it was the last place on Earth. Can't wait to read their lying reply. read more

I have problem with the service department. We leased a car in Dec and part of the deal was to install fog lights. They had to be ordered. I got a call that they were in only to go and find out they were not in. I got a second call that they were in. I went there sat for 1 hour only to find out that they didn't order a switch. I made another appointment to get them installed, they never said they are not in. They made the appointment. I followed up to check if every part was in and they told me they were on back order. I don't know what their problem is but I will look for a different place to get the car serviced and lease from next time. read more

The dealership service department is dishonest, lacks customer service, and seems incompetent. Stay away, take your vehicle to Nissan newburgh they're awesome, friendly and know what they are doing. I took my car to Poughkeepsie Nissan to pin a cover that came loose underneath my 2017 maxima and to check my window that squeaked. I was charged $190 or so for a diagnosis for my car. Got it fixed and paid nothing extra as the issues were meager that it was covered under the diagnosis cost. I get my car back and all of a sudden my A/C stopped working properly. I go back and tell them my issue, they want to charge me another $199 for diagnosis and tell me they can give me a discount on it for $145... Why are we doing another diagnosis on the vehicle when the initial diagnosis did not mention any AC issue and now all of a sudden i have ac issues and you want to charge 199 then discount it to 149???? What they wont tell you is the diagnosis is not to check the entire car, just the part you have issues with. But then how come other areas on the vehicle for the 1st diagnosis were checked without my consent if you diagnose specific areas complained about? I turned down those servicing offers as they were completely unrelated.They wave the fee after a back and forth with the service manager who initial words were, "we cant just fix it, this is a business and it could be a coincidence". Long story short, they checked thw issue and said i need a new condenser. For a 2017 maxima with just 42k miles? Ok then let's fix it. I wait almost 2 hours thinking I'll be out of there in a few. The cost was about $600+. They come back and say yea sir, it's actually not your condenser we sealed up the condenser from leaking (even a novice knows if the condenser is leaking or faulty just replace the entire thing), its your compressor and it will be $800+ dollars to fix. See where this is going? Incompetence and dishonesty. So who's knowledge, expertise, and quality care/service can I rely on? Definitely not this dealership. took my car away from there to newburgh nissan and got the issue rectified in less than an hour. They pinpointed the issue and it was my condenser not compressor that needed to be replaced! What if i paid $800+ to Poughkeepsie nissan for the compressor only to find out that wasn't the real issue. Then they'd say, oops sorry it's your condenser sir $600+??? Before I purchased my 2022 Nissan Leaf, I was told they had this great app called Nissan Connect. The sales person told me all about how I could start my car and warm it up from my bed, how it would show me everything going on inside the car from the app, how if I were running low on charge it would warn me and lead me right to the nearest charging port, it was the main reason I bought the car. The salesman even put the Nissan Connect app on my phone for me before I got the car! Well.....i couldn't get it to work. I tried and tried for 3 days. Finally I called the number on Nissan Connect's app and they took a bunch of information including my VIN number. Come to find out, my car doesn't come equipped with Nissan Connect. I was beyond disappointed. I called the salesman and he said "Whoops I made a mistake" and that was that. I was out of luck. So I called Nissan Connect back and told them what happened. They suggested I call the sales manager, which I did. He was sorry about the "misunderstanding" and offered me all weather floor mats to make up for it. I dont want all weather floor mats, I want Nissan Connect! That's why I bought this particular car! He told me for $7,000.00 more I could buy the car that came with NIssan Connect but basically I was out of luck. He was nice though. He called me "Sweetheart" and said he was sorry. But that doesn't help me. I am really ticked off. I have no choice but to tell others about my experience, including here on Yelp, the NYS Attorney Generals Office and the Better Business Bureau. I also have over 7,000 followers on Twitter, many of them local. If I tweet about this, 7,000 people plus whoever they re-tweet will instantly read about it. PS My location still says Yorktown Heights. I moved to FIshkill, NY. I am going to change that in my settings now, but just in case you were wondering why I traveled to Poughkeepsie NIssan, its because they are right down the road from me. read more
