About 10 minutes later, at 8pm, the live music started. It was wonderful music, but where we were seated was in front of the speakers and two of our party wear hearing aides. When it looked like we were going to have to cut our celebration short, our server, the wonderful Marcy, and another gentleman, worked to get us seating in the lower dining room in front. We were so grateful for the accommodations, and everyone was super nice about it. The food and drinks were outstanding, of course. Our party ordered the chicken bowl, the chippy chicken, the curd burger, a cheeseburger, and the turkey avocado. Everyone was silent as they ate! The service was friendly and impeccable (even when we really weren't being easy customers), and our night, which could have gone south so quickly, was made! And hopefully a younger, hipper crew moved into our table and enjoyed the wonderful music! The band was great and we really enjoyed it still from where we ended up! So cheers to the staff at AG! It was nice to see two very friendly and super attentive servers for what turned out to be a pretty busy lunch. We were seated and then drinks delivered, order taken, food brought over, water refilled, and being checked on regularly. My hamburger was excellent and my friend's steak salad was declared delicious as always...the steak being perfectly med rare. My only complaint was that I asked for no mustard and it came with mustard.....I had no allergies so I did my best to wipe it off. I am glad to say Duskees is as good as ever.

The terms presented online at the time of reservation did not match the terms presented at the restaurant. We had an in‑depth, thoughtful conversation about the complexities of New York State restaurant laws, particularly those governing how front‑of‑house staff may be tipped and how back‑of‑house employees may be compensated. While we were in agreement that the language surrounding the service fee was confusing, our discussion gave me a clearer understanding of the intent. I now feel far less certain that the discrepancy was malicious or deliberately deceptive. That said, it should have been made much clearer to diners that the service fee included what is traditionally understood as gratuity. Transparency in this area is crucial for maintaining guest trust, and clearer communication would have prevented the confusion I--and likely others--experienced. I want to commend the owner for reaching out directly and taking the time to address each of my concerns. His willingness to engage, listen, and provide context demonstrated genuine integrity. We also discussed my other critiques in depth, and it was evident that he was sincerely interested in my perspective and committed to further elevating the experience they aim to provide.
