Rox Cafe is located in the Colesville Business Park, and it's on the front side. These little cafes connected to businesses are worth exploring, I tell ya! The ladies in here were very friendly, and they have great prices. They have sandwiches, smoothies, desserts, drinks, the works. One sandwich stood out, and it was a breakfasty one called the Bernard sandwich. It was described as having egg whites, spinach, turkey, a special mayo, and more on rye bread. It... was... DELICIOUS. I came to find out later that it was named after a pretty regular customer who came up with that. So awesome! I want to give a special shoutout to the international foods Trader Joe sources. This is generally a TJ strong suit, but here I want to mention a few they absolutely nail: Mini samosas: most Indian restaurants in the US serve samosas that have thick doughy shells and are overstuffed with potato filling. But the ones I really love are the Gujarati kind, with thin exteriors and better proportioned, more flavorful filling. This is the kind TJ carries. Oh my heart! Beef Birria: cooked long and slow, so the tomato, vinegar and chili meld into a deep, complex sauce to flavor the beef. The meat itself is so tender it falls easily apart, perfect filling for a tortilla. Takes me right back to Mexico. MultiPurpose Japanese seasoning: I originally bought this to make a seaweed mayonnaise that I wanted to serve with salmon. It turned out beautifully, but pretty soon I was sprinkling the seasoning on all manner of dishes, bringing them alive on my tongue and giving me a new reason for being excited about food!

Soft music playing, gorgeous paintings, the decor was very authentic to the culture. SERVICE: I noticed that the waitresses there were efficient, and patient, but appeared nonchalant. No smiles, no personality....I just attribute it to cultural differences. All of the other guests there were Ethiopian too. I got a lot of stares (out of place). FOOD: I ordered the injera with the beef tips and vegetables. It was so good. I'm not a big fan of injera (I hate the texture), but the meat was well seasoned. I wish I would've had it cooked HARD (dark in color). Nonetheless, it was very good. Overall experience: 9/10. It was definitely a nice vibe with relaxing music, the bar area was STACKED, and it was a spacious place. Additionally, there was a small stage (drum set and band). So, I know they have nights of LIVE ENTERTAINMENT. Plenty of free parking out front.
