That being said, if you're looking for a spot to get passport pics, print quality photographs, get internet access or pack and mail or ship stuff, I think PostNet might just be your spot. I stopped in the other day because I needed photos for my International Driver's Permit and Jamie helped me out quickly, thoroughly and for the most reasonable price I found. He ask what size of photo I needed but I didn't know so he helped me look up the website for information on one of their computers. Then, he took 2 pics with a high quality digital camera and printed them out on a very impressive, high-end looking machine. If you're looking for convenience, this is it. They will take the photo, help you with forms and ship stuff for you. How great is that?! Ask for Ed or Jamie... they're both really nice and seem to work well as a team. I got two passport photos and a load of self-righteousness from them. The grey-haired man rushed me through with a hand-held camera. He clicked the shuttle once and declared: "Great!" Yes, I was expecting a couple of shots like Costco used to do. He then told me it'd be 15-20 mins before the electronic version arrives in my inbox. When I asked him for the original version instead of cropped version, he said he can't because "it's illegal": "What if you modify them?" After I tried to reason with him based on the fact that he was already emailing me an electronic version (of cropped version), he wouldn't budge and started lecturing me. I finally gave up. Before I left the store, I decided to wait in the area to see if he actually emailed me the e-version. Sure enough, 20 mins went by, I still didn't get it so I decided to go back to the store and waited in there. Again, he greeted me by showing off his professional knowledge: "We have been around for 12 years, you'll get yours (in email) soon". Of course, I didn't. After a few more minutes, he finally realized the problem so he checked his smartphone and walked back to the backroom before coming out to say: "You should be getting it now". Then I did. The email header clearly showed that he didn't send it till after he walked back into the backroom. I am glad that I didn't trust him and hung in there till I got what was promised. I certainly didn't feel like a respected customer there. read more

This place is the absolute best place I have had experience with for printing & photography services. They have been a life saver for everything that I've needed for my wedding: save the date cards, invitations, decorations, larger prints, and more. I have also used this PostNet location in the past for high quality photo prints (18x24" or 24x36") of some of my photography that I now have framed and hanging in my home. They have been highly collaborative with me by giving me feedback on my print designs and ultimately helped me improve the quality of my prints. I've been using photoshop and illustrator for ~15 years and I can tell they know what they are doing. I'm also surprised that they have been so communicative with me over email and phone for the price that they charge. I should also mention that they are cost competitive with the same/better prices than staples, fedex, etc. I simply can't come up with any negatives. Wow! I am SO happy I found this place. I commissioned a drawing of my husband and I as superheros to give him as a Valentine's Day gift (yes, we're nerds). I originally planned to just go to Walgreens and print out an 8x10 of the picture, but I remembered not being pleased with the quality of printing of even casual photos at Walgreens, so didn't want to use them for such a nice piece of art. After doing a little research, I found PostNet and saw they had great reviews so decided to give them a try. And I can say that the great reviews are all accurate! It was the day before Valentine's Day when I walked in, and at this point had decided I wanted a poster size printout of the picture (18x24). I expected to have to pay extra to do a rush order since I needed it the next morning, but the super nice man working there just had me email him the picture and started printing it while I was standing there. He even took the time to edit the picture since it wasn't originally formatted to fit the 18x24 dimensions. He set it as close as possible to the desired size (it could go to 18x20 without the picture getting stretched out) and then he added a border around it to fit the remaining whitespace so that it ended up being 18x24. He even matched the color of the border with the background of the picture so it looked like it was part of it all along. And I absolutely loved the result! I was in and out of there in ~15 minutes and there was no extra fee to get such a large print on the same day. (Note: the cost to print here is a little higher than at a Walgreens type place, but the quality of the print is like 10x better, so definitely worth the extra cost.) Overall, I was very impressed with the tremendous level of customer service and the quality of the printout. I will definitely be coming back here for all my photo printing needs. read more

I can not say enough about this place. Customer Service can get you far. It is the night before my grandfather's funeral and with everything my mother has on her mind she forgot to ask me to print a large picture of my grandpa. PostNet was closing in thirty minutes took my call and was able to get my order placed for a pick up for tomorrow morning when they open. ALSO, Joan touched up the picture of my grandfather- it was his military picture pre-Korean War. Stopped here to get pictures taken for a Canada visa application, and had a very good experience. This place is SO much better than any Walgreens or FedEx. The service was friendly, prices reasonable and the job was very well done. They sent us digital copies via email (unlike Walgreens which only gives you a CD), and even said we can go back to get prints in different sizes any time in the next six months. read more

I wanted to find a place that could help me print about 40-50 wedding programs. I had designed them to be printed on legal-size paper and wanted them stapled and folded in half. On top of that, I wanted the cover to be printed on cardstock in color, while the rest of it was to be printed on regular weight legal paper in black and white. I have had terrible experiences with Staples and Walgreens for really simple printing jobs so I wanted to find a place that could do something like this with proficiency. PostNet was perfect for this job. I walked in and saw that they print a lot of yearbooks for local schools (which deal with the issues of binding and printing on different types of paper), and the service was fantastic. I gave them my file and they were able to print out a beautiful sample to me. I thought the sample had a printing error, but they ended up showing me that it was actually my paper that had a divot. After that realization, we were able to prevent that from happening further by taking paper from the other side of the pack. Their attention to detail is great, and their service was so fast, with a turnaround of less than a day. I dropped off the job at around 3pm and they called me upon opening the following morning. I will likely be coming here for all of my complex printing needs from now on. read more

Hot damn! In less than 10 minutes, I walked out with the best passport photo I've taken in my life. I've never been happier. PostNet offers assistive passport mailing services, and optionally stores your images should you need to order extra copies after your visit. The photographer that helped me was courteous and skilled, providing me with a glamorous image. He provided me with a small mirror to check my appearance just before the snapshot. It's amazing what he was able to do with a good camera and a styrofoam board below my chin. The photographer paid special attention to my hair, instructing me to tuck it behind my ear or shoulder. This follows passport photo regulations to show both ears, and also kept my hair from looking unruly and unkempt. The set of photos I received were cut carefully to 2'x2' and tucked into a sturdy card folder. I'll gladly return for my next passport photo, driving upwards of 20 minutes to give them my business. read more

I've been to many photo places both on the east coast and the west, from the haughty-taughty places to the crappiest of "photomats". I came here by the recommendation of a fellow photographer who actually does it for a living. I was not impressed at first sight. I thought "great, this is going to be another one of those strip-mall joints that has sub-par equipment and crappy service". WRONG!! They were so nice! And they DO A GREAT JOB. I get my 35mm and my 120mm developed and scanned. They don't charge for development, and they scan super hi-rez copies onto CD. I was paying over TWICE as much for LESS at the "really good" places like Keeble & Shucat in Palo Alto and Penn Camera in Washington D.C. These guys are really nice, they're the best value and I will continue to go here. What a pleasant experience. I called PostNet the other day because I wanted to print four 8x10 digital photos. The person who answered the phone said that each was $2.49 and that they could be printed in about 10 minutes. Score! So, I drove there with my USB drive. It was a little tricky to find in the strip mall -- it's toward the left of the supermarket and Rite-Aid, and there's a different name on the sign from the name "PostNet." That aside, I walked in and a kind employee helped me immediately. I plugged the USB drive into a computer, the employee walked me through the screens, and the receipt printed. He asked me to return and pay in 10 min., so I stopped over at the Rite-Aid next door. Sure enough, the photos were ready when I returned. Wow, they look nice. I needed a quick and cheap passport photo, so I stopped by here on a Saturday. I found the employees to be extremely welcoming and the wait was not long at all. I filled out a small form and they called me back to get my photo. Pros: - They take a couple shots of you and let you choose the one you like. - They use a high end DSLR, so the photos look crisp and sharp - They have you hold a light reflector to improve the lighting on your face - Your photos are done in a matter of minutes for super cheap (around $10-12 can't remember) - Seems to be a family-owned business Bottom line: The fastest, cheapest and best-looking passport photos I've ever seen. Disclaimer: I use a lot of copy vendors in my professional life, so my standards are probably pretty high. That said, I thought this place was horrendous. I found this place on yelp and it had so many good reviews that I decided to give it a try. I spoke to them over the phone and asked them a ton of questions about my job and they said they could handle it, so I thought we were on the same page. However, when I emailed them my job they were completely thrown off. They thought it was completely different than what it actually was. At that point, they called and informed me that the quoted price will need to be doubled. It just went downhill from there. They just kept screwing up at every step, it was pretty ridiculous. I kept taking more and more of the job off their plate, and it still took them forever to get what was left done (which at that point was just printing out my 2-page PDF double sided). An older lady who may have been the owner tried to tell me they had been busy all morning and that the guy hadn't even had his lunch yet. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand being busy, but then call me to tell me it's going to take longer. Don't wait until I'm standing in the store to give me excuses. The thing that put the nail in the coffin was, one of the other workers walks out and, I believe, looks at my email order again (because he makes a comment that sounds like he's referencing my job). Then, as he's walking by me, says "Man, that lady doesn't know how to put an order in." Oh hell-to-the-no. My husband, my 1 year old son, and I all had to get our passport photos taken. I've been here before, and always had stellar service. Today is no exception. I was a bit nervous about how my 1 year old would be "sitting" for a photo, but the final photo turned out so well! He was even smiling and it was so cute. The staff is extremely courteous and the process took less than 20 minutes for all 3 of us. The photographer was super patient with our 1 year old and took multiple shots to ensure we got a great photo. I go in there around 2 pm carrying my 10 month old daughter in one arm and a 25 pound box in the other. The employees just stand there, looking at me. No greeting, no offer to help, nothing. OK, typical Sunnyvale. I put the box on the counter. One girl comes up and starts small-talking about my baby. She's uncomfortable and seems unused to interacting with the world. Then she backs away, and stands there, shuffling her feet, looking everywhere but me. Weird, but still typical. Fuck it, I have time. Let's see where this goes. Meanwhile, the owner (I guess--there's pictures of him on the walls showing how rugged and outdoorsy he is) comes out, looks at me, and starts talking to a lady who'd been there before me. Apparently, he was sorry her business cards were fucked up, and he'd have more reprinted more free of charge. Yeah, no shit. The girl is still standing there in the background, and I've let my daughter stand on their counter. Everyone is giving the baby side-eye, like she's not supposed to be there. The owner suddenly turns to me and gives me a coupon, telling me "If you know anyone who needs business cards, you can pass these along." I stare him down. Fucking prick. Why wouldn't I myself need them? He corrects himself. "Or if you need them." At this point, I've been standing there about fifteen minutes, with two employees and the owner, and only the customer with the shitty business cards. I take the card, give it to my daughter to chew on, and ask him to ship my package. He actually asks "Did you need to ship this?" He calls some dude from the back to handle it. I guess he's too busy to take care of his store. The girl is still shuffling around. I consider asking her why she was born. The new guy comes out. No eye contact, no smile, nothing. He weighs my package and starts processing my order. Whoa there, Bucky, how about some fucking quotes and options?!? This asshole was gonna try to two-day ship a box across the country for like ninety dollars. I ask him for some prices. He reluctantly pulls something out of his ass. No lie--says USPS will charge $80 to ship. Postnet's lowest price is $50. I do it, because I'm ready to leave now. Seems like bullshit, though. Naturally, he misspells my name, gets the address wrong, doesn't know how to enter credit card info, then gets pissy when I offer to do it for him. Yes, I should have shopped around. This motherfucker lied, or can't read. One or the other. I kind of lean towards the latter. USPS WOULD HAVE SHIPPED IT FOR LESS THAN FORTY DOLLARS!!! This place is staffed by idiots who don't understand how to interact with people, much less provide customer service. Their prices are high, and you may get lied to. The best place to have baby passport photos taken! Needed passport photos for my 6 months old baby. Their service was great, they have a special reclining seat to position the baby properly so the background fits and doesn't swallow the baby (which happens if you just pad a car seat with white fabric). They even had a toy to draw the baby's attention to the camera, so taking the photos was a breeze. In addition, they know the requirements not only for US passport photos, but also for quite a few other countries. So now I have two sets of photos each matching the country's requirements. Wow! Never again will I suffer the discourtesy and frustration of Kinkos - Foto Stop, I am a convert! From the moment I walked in I was promptly attended to by knowledgeable and genuinely friendly staff. It didn't take me all of ten minutes to have passport photos taken - the best ever, I might add! - and color copies made, all without the slightest hassle. The shop itself is extremely clean and professionally maintained, too, and offers innumerably reasonably priced services. I need to get some non-US passport photos taken in the next few weeks, so I know I'll be back! The customer service at this place is really great. I had to take non-standard size passport photos and they were very accommodating. The price was also very reasonable (approx. $11 including tax). By the way, they also do photos for Diversity Visa Lottery (DV lottery). Just take them your photo requirements and a USB stick if you want a soft copy. I was applying for a foreign passport for my 20 months old son and was hunting high and low for a place that would take the photo for me in the size required and print on the mat/semi-mat paper required. It proof to be the hardest thing! 1) The passport photo requirements are different from standard US passport photo. 2) Its so hard to take a acceptable passport photo of a toddler! After running around town with a frustrated toddler who is now scared to stand still in front of the camera, I was referred to The Foto Stop by another photo shop I went to. The Foto Stop took the picture in 2 mins and helped me formated the photo to the size and printed on the paper required! The price I paid is cheaper than what the drug stores and UPS charged me for the non-usable photos. I was surprise to see that they even provide candies and cookies for patrons who use their computers to alter/modify/brightens their photos! I will Be back for all my future photo prints and shots. I went into PostNet to get some passport photos done, and I was pleasantly surprised - the service was outstanding, the store clean and well laid out, and I would hesitate to recommend this place. Unlike many of the FedEx and UPS stores that I have visited, the staff here seem to genuinely care about their work and their customers, and they made the best passport photos that I have ever seen! Compare this with Walgreens /CVS/FedEx... for any additional set they charge $12, which is ridiculous!! I needed to get passport photos done today and after reading the other yelpers here I ventured to The Foto Stop to get my pics done. They took about 4 shots of my passport...showed me the best one. I wasn't too thrilled with how I turned out - it wasn't bad at all, it just wasn't a picture I wanted to live with for the next 10 years. They took another handful of shots and let me pick out the one I liked best but they gave me their advice as well. I wound up buying two sets of photos as I wasn't sure which I would like more. Everyone was great to work with and bent over backwards to ensure I had photos I liked. About $12 for my two sets of digital photos in less than 15 minutes. I can't say enough good things about this place. Don't even bother with the cruddy photos you're going to get at FedEx or the Post Office. They will just shoot you once with a polaroid and you'll be stuck with whatever they got on the first shot. These guys rock! read more
