Most of my India travel bookings have been through Manisha of Sunnyvale travels. Did 5 tickets to India before the pandemic hit. I ended up canceling 4 and postponing 1 ticket. All were done quick and easy without any stress. Got the refund in time for 4 tickets. After few months, I ended up canceling the other ticket I postponed. Though it didn't happen on time due to some miscommunication, Manisha immediately apologized and processed the refund. Again this December, I booked 2 tickets to India and it was a breeze. There are total nine reviews on Yelp and all of them one star. So my giving them three is little bold step. I recently booked a ticket for my wife thru them. Now when I say them, I mean thru an agent called Pooja. What I gather is they all work independently and they will not serve you if your agent is not there and ask you to drop an email to her. This is kind of bad because outside people see Sunnyvale travels as a company. Luckily my agent was nice. She really worked hard to find me a good fare. Was very professional and followed up until everything was complete. Even though it was an e-ticket, I got a printed ticket and receipt in mail couple of days back. I am sure if there would have been zero or negative star rating they would have got that as well! My story - I called Sunnyvale Travel yesterday to check if they had good deals to India for the dates we were looking for (Rep Name: JAMILA) She suggested a deal and told us that she would block it for a day or so. We happened to find a better deal over orbitz and booked it yesterday. 1. As a courtesy I called her this morning to let her know that we went for another option so that she could use the ticket for someone else (I guess I was just being nice) When I told her that we went ahead with another option she started inquiring about the deal we got (VERY UNPROFESSIONAL - AND REALLY NONE OF HER BUSINESS) 2. I was kind of irritated at her tone as well. I told her that my husband booked the ticket and I didn't have much details. To that she said "Oh really, how can it be that you don't know the details". Was it so difficult for her to understand that I was not interested in giving her the details and was just trying to be polite instead of telling her "Its none of your business". 3. At this point I just wanted to get off the call and was repenting I even called her. So I told her "Anyways I just wanted to call you as a courtesy so you can unblock the ticket" to which she replied "This is not a courtesy call" At this point I was extremely irritated!!!! I asked her if it was an obligation to book the ticket through them to which she squeamishly said "No". I told her usually people don't return calls the way I did which apparently turned out to be a bad idea because of her unprofessional customer service and that she needs to work on her skills as a rep. I am really surprised that these guys don't get the basics of customer service. Just think about it - even though I didn't book the ticket through them I would still have remained a potential customer for my future trips. I might have even recommended them to some of my friends in the future. Well, now see what they got out of me - A bad review on yelp and I will also make sure all of my friends stay away from these arrogant guys. Additional pointer if you are browsing yelp to look for travel agents, you might want to check out some online options. It turns out to be not only reasonable, but also very flexible. Check kayak.com, orbitz, expedia, travelocity, hotwire, makemytrip and you will probably find better deals than what the agents would offer. Also looks like the airlines have good deals on Tuesdays & Wednesdays that you might want to keep in mind. read more

If only there was an option on Yelp to give zero starts Most tiring, frustrating and highly irritating experience. Do yourself a favor.. and simple book a ticket yourself using cheapflights or expedia etc.. instead of wating time with these travels. I booked 2 tickets for my parents. At first the lady Manisha was very responsive with fares, as soon as I decided to go for the tickets, her response became SLOW. A mistake was made in an alphabet in the my father's name. It is still understandable considering human error. But the grueling process to get the name corrected was Frustrating. Manisha told me she would 'take care of it.. " I checked with airlines to make sure alls fine and they still had the wrong spelling!!!! She was careless, extremely Rude and worst of all - if she leaves office by 2 or 3 everyday someone else should be able to tc of her undone tasks! I had to call and email again and again to Manisha to get the spelling corrected. The last resort was to call her manager and thats when she freaked out and decided to finally help. The seating arrangements were not confirmed even though I was told they were done in the first place. I made a mistake in not going through the reviews on Yelp before going to them, since was suggested by a friend. And yes, if you are lucky to have a good experience, consider yourself really lucky! read more

First of all zero stars!! I recently booked flights for my family through Sunnyvale travels from SfO to Delhi via Emirates..I am surprised they are still in business, the absolute worst customer service that I have ever encountered. First of all my agent Jamila put in wrong contact information for me and when I called with any questions-- run around like no other. Another travel agent did maintenance on my reservation and input wrong passport no. for my babies even after I send them in writing. I only found out when I called the airlines to make sure my other info was input correctly. As of now I have been trying to have someone call me back with a correction they were supposed to make for 1.5 months and no body even calls me back after repeated assurance that someone called Amar will call me to keep me posted. My flight is in 2 weeks and I guess I will have to go down and talk to someone in the office and get the correction made. So a lesson learnt the hard way.
