Never before have I been spoken to in such a condescending tone. Read on if interested: It started with an aggressive "los gatos travel" which sounded very rude and like I was bothering them. I then described the vacation we are planning, she paused, and then asked "well have you worked with us before?" I said no we have not. She then asked "okay, were you referred by someone?" I also said no we were not. She then said "how did you hear about us?" The tone on this question sounded like she was surprised we were able to reach them without having been referred. I said that I found them on yelp since they had great reviews. She then said "okay to be honest with you a client who we've never worked with and also does not know anyone who has worked with us I don't think we can take on a brand new client right now we have been in business x years and this would probably not be possible." This one was a little surprising since I was planning this a year in advance. She then said "I assume you have never worked with a travel agent before" to which I said that I have actually several times before. This is when I got upset. She said she would "send me an email for me to send dates and maybe go from there" and I responded that I was not interested in working with their business and expressed my displeasure with the interaction. Might sound dramatic but I think this was the worst interaction I have ever had with a local business. It's a shame because I was planning to give them a significant amount of business only to be turned away because of her ego. Hopefully all of you have a better experience.

It saved me a lot of time and trouble. They were very detailed and clear throughout the process from looking through my first online application, telling me everything that needed to be corrected (I had some errors since the fields weren't that clear to me), checking through my printed application again in person at my appointment (which had some errors due to the system), and making sure I knew what to correct before making the final application they could use. We met with Biksee Du (Bich Tho) @ Signature Travel and Tours. We shared our specific travel plans including destinations that we wanted to visit, and our other travel needs. She reassured us that she could create a very good itinerary, and that if her staff listed hotels that we didn't approve of, we could trade them for the accommodations we preferred. Biksee stated that she would get back to us, but several days passed without any word. We attempted to text and to call her personal cell but did not get a response. Finally we were able to speak with her. Then we received an itinerary by email. Several of our destinations were missing! We called Biksee and texted her, requesting that she get back to us but she never returned our call or text. WE DO NOT recommend using Signature Travel and Tours.

Goldrush Getaways is not for everyone but if you travel they have great deals and commissions In essence, you are buying a business just like you would a franchise, or any other business. Many people set up their own websites and expand their travel agency. There is a learning curve but that is nothing new. Goldrush is not a scam. It is a reputable travel agency recognized by cruise lines, train travel, and every other imaginable tour. They tell you this in their presentation and they do not pressure sale you. It is nothing like timeshares, but if you like traveling, I highly recommend taking a look at Goldrush Getaways. Item of note: If you sign up for yourself, you may find yourself booking travel for family, friends, friends of friends and the list goes on. When people find out you are a travel agent, they want to find out what you have to offer and the commissions you earn are not bad either.

First of all (read: before I begin with the bad part of this review), Erin was super helpful and friendly. She obviously was really familiar with Asia and her enthusiasm was infectious. When I initially called interested in visiting Europe in August, she suggested Asia instead because Europe is much more expensive that month (and partially closed down). It was an idea that sorta made sense... for Thailand anyway. Thailand is always hot so there's no good time to visit. Japan, on the other hand ended up being was just as hot and humid since we ended up visiting the worst month of the year. We'd never used a travel agent before and thought people used them to save money on travelling. We were very misinformed. We figured that we spend about $2000 more on our honeymoon than we needed to - mostly on hotel rooms. I thought Thailand in particular would be a cheap country to visit but it wasn't with Peak Travel. We would find cheap (but really good quality) hotels on asiarooms.com but our agent said she felt like she couldn't trust the site as much as going through the hotel directly. (I assume it was actually because Peak wouldn't receive a cut from the hotel.) Our agent suggested many tours and we didn't know better that we could have been just as happy or happier exploring on our own. The tours on the Japan portion of our trip were good. The Thailand part of our trip was a disappointment tour-wise. The Siam Nirarit dinner and dancing show was a snore (an expensive snore, too). We felt like the tour to the Golden Palace and Emerald Buddha were unneeded since it would have been easy to explore this complex on our own. Also, the tour conveniently dropped us off at a gem store (the big scam in Bangkok we were to find out since every tuk tuk driver wanted to take us to these, too) in order for us to catch a shuttle back to our hotel. Anyway, the gem store involvement made the tour group seem shady. Also, they arrived 45 minutes late for our tour and claimed they'd called ahead to tell us - then IN FRONT OF US we saw them quietly call the hotel to leave us a message to say they'd be late. Erin did recommend Ko Samui, and that ended up being our favorite part of the trip. However, I really can't recommend the Ko Samui monkey show that Erin had been to that must have changed a lot since she'd seen it. Basically it was the world's worst animal show (for $9/person, too!) where the trained monkeys only did their tricks half the time and the other half involved the monkeys selling candy to visitors for money. Might I mention that the monkeys failed at doing their tricks about half the time, too, and chose to defecate on the stage instead. Since their tricks involved pretending to play a guitar and standing on the heads of visitors I really can't blame them. The good thing about going through an agent is that ours coordinated everything. Travelling from Tokyo to Mt. Fuji and Hakone and then via bullet train to Kyoto might have been a little complicated for us to plan. I guess Peak Travel did a good job. I just would never use them again. I definitely recommend forming your own itinerary using tripadvisor and discount hotel room websites like asiarooms.com and skipping the travel agent.

She truly cares about her customers comfort, safety, and getting the best deals. She will find you the best deals ever. If you have troubles she is available and will solve any and all problems as you travel. She will get you home if you need alternative plans at the last minute. She's awesome!!

Then i found flyertalk.com and everyone was mentioning to use Virtuoso travel agents. Not only do they have negotiated special rates with hotels, there's other benefits like free breakfast, room upgrades, etc. So I called Virtuoso and they directed me to Luxury Travel in San Jose. I wanted to book train tickets from london to paris and 2 nights at the Intercontinental in Paris. Not only did they find the same low rates that I found, they also include a room upgrade and free access to the club lounge. On top of that, they answered all my questions and did all of the bookings for me. Sue was so professional and did a great job. very quick turnaround on responses and I'm very impressed. I've had some misses with another travel agency but Sue and Luxury travel have really changed my mind. I'm already talking to them about our next vacation in hawaii
