This is hands down my favorite place to get work done during the week. With free Wi-fi, a pleasant staff and a dynamite tea collection, I pretty much get all I need from the Postmark cafe. I find the facft that they don't seem to be overdoing it with the space to be refreshing. It's not pretentious and there are very few invasive aspects to the environment. Sure there are kids around, but when are there not kids around in Park Slope. Perhaps the worst time to go is between 11:45 and 12:45 when wild packs of Junior High girls run rampant inside, but afterwards everything is peaceful and pleasant. So if you can stand a mini onslaught of adolescence, then Postmark is the place to go. If you can't, that's fine...I'd rather less people be there when I'm trying to be productive. read more

This unassuming little coffee shop is simplistically and tastefully decorated. The food and drinks are both delicious and inexpensive, its a great place to bring a book and the free wifi makes it ideal for doing work on a computer. My first experience here was pretty awful. They only take cash. It's 2015. There's no excuse not to take credit cards. There are startups that have figured this out for low-dollar transactions like coffee purchases. One example is Square. This is why Starbucks dominates: they get the basics right. They don't make it a hassle to buy their shit. So, I ran to the surcharge-free credit union at McDonald's (ironic location). When I came back the attitude had changed, and they were surprised to have me back. They let me know they they actually have a benefactor (?!?! don't ask me...) who provides free drinks. I said I didn't want charity but apparently it's just for people who don't have cash. They donate their tips to charity. I'm inclined to view this in a highly positive way. There are too many cynics in Brokelyn and I believe in these sorts of dollar-at-a-time efforts. The coffee is good, but very expensive. $3.25 for a small iced latte. Staff aren't warm or friendly. The second time I came the barista seemed distinctly disinterested; annoyed at providing service. It frustrates me when people working in service industries do this. So many people hate their jobs but they act with dignity anyways. Their Wi-Fi is open and free -- no password required. What a relief from the hassle of pretty much any other Wi-Fi, which requires a password (independent cafés) or constant authentication and even giving up your email address (see Starbucks). It's average speed for an independent café (no Google Starbucks). Music is 2010-era dope. Lots of Vampire Weekend. It's better than the bland jazz of a much better-known chain. There's a distinctly loungey feel to the place, with plentiful couches and tons of seating. Great hangout spot, for relaxation (I've been playing games) and maybe some work too. What stops cute places like this from excelling is a number of tiny mistakes. They'd become a big deal if they got the basics down; it's how Starbucks wins. read more

What a cute spot! Gives you that warm and cozy feeling. It's a tad on the cramped side but they have additional seating downstairs. I was able to find a spot to do some work and sip on some coffee on the main floor. Everyone here was busy doing some work so it was really quiet except for some calming music playing in the background. For those coming here to do some work, they have ample outlets to plug in your electronics. Cool vibe, nice place and the coffee was pretty good. The staff was also nice. The Chai I had was EXCELLENT - not too sweet, good cinnamon, great flavor The ambiance here is a bit weird...they need some help designing the space a bit -- i don't think they have much of a design sense really. Searching for a place with coffee and wifi on a Saturday morning to get some work done, I headed to Postmark Cafe and enjoyed a nice leisurely morning on the couch completely my Saturday morning agenda. Waking up by 8am on a Saturday morning to do work seems less than enjoyable but Postmark Cafe makes it all better. My coffee was tasty. Not the best I have ever had but definitely did the trick. Bring some cash. Bring a laptop and hit up this Park Slope coffee shop if you need to get some work done! read more

This is a great little out-of-the-way coffee shop with free Wi-Fi, friendly staff and most importantly, tasty beverages! The Espressos are great as are the Chai Teas that they make from a mix which can only be described as awesome and addictive. Plus when you buy 9 drinks you get one free. With a small but high quality selection of food and drinks, and an emphasis on local coffee, if you share the popular opinion that Starbucks is nothing more than a distribution center for corporate baby gravy, you'll be happy to know that this place exists. All tips go to charity, local bands/comedians are actively promoted, and the staff is always friendly. Prices are reasonable, and the decor is outstanding. There's lots of couches, free WiFi, and a nice location with lack of road noise. Not accepting credit cards is annoying, and they don't have as many options as the big franchises, but it's a beautiful spot for someone looking for a good cup of coffee and a great place to relax. read more

Can't believe I haven't reviewed this yet. This is my new favourite spot. So many great things about this place: 1. Good coffees! I am a filter coffee kinda gal, but in many cafes, filter coffee is the neglected stepsister to the mighty espresso. Too often, it seems that cafes brew a big bucket of filter coffee and let it sit there all day so that when I think I'm buying a coffee at 4pm, what I actually get is a mug of congealed tar. Not here. It doesn't matter what time of day, their filter coffee is always fresh-tasting and just the right strength for me. They also make a great cafe au lait, and if you've followed my reviews, you know how much I care about cafe au lait. 2. Wonderful staff! Everyone here is so friendly and nice. It's a real joy to order and sit in a place where the staff are clearly happy to be there. They don't get tips (see 5) but clearly management is doing something right. 3. Low-low prices! Everything here is super reasonable. I really don't know how they make it work, but it's great. 4. Great atmosphere! This really is a home away from home. Cosy furniture arranged in a way that is snug, but not crowded - they fit a lot of people into a small space without you feeling crammed in. 5. Heart in the right place! While there is no tip jar, there is a charity jar and every month they select a different charity. It always seems like good cause to me and it's a really nice idea. 6. Yummy snacks! It's a tiny serving station, so understandably the menu is short but they have lovely bagels, pastries from nearby Coulson Pattiserie and do sandwiches, grilled cheese and smoothies. Plenty of options for breakfast/lunch. 7. Good for work and play! There is free wi-fi (no password) and a communal working table with outlets, a great place to spend a few hours working. It's not the fastest but will do for most stuff. There is also a lower floor with even more space that is super child friendly (this is Park Slope!). This division works really well and while there is always pleasant activity and talk, the noise level is never bad. 8. Making use of the outside! The fact it's on a quiet street makes the small outside yard pleasant and not noisy. They also open up the large shutters when weather allows so you can sit inside and look out on the courtyard. All in all, a real rarity. I find it hard to point out any flaws. I guess the furniture could be more comfortable (it's second hand, it seems) but honestly I find that part of the charm and it adds to the homely feeling. Also the wifi could be faster but really, I am nitpicking. I love this place. I have been coming here most every day since discovering it a few weeks ago. read more

The coffee is good and the place is friendly, however I walked in a hot day and noticed they didn't have air conditioning on. If you want to grab something to go its great, but if you plan to stay it might get pretty hot. Everyone having there own Laptop/heater didn't help either. This small quaint charming cafe has the remarkable quality of an old time small town mom and pop coffee shop - complete with wood floors, hand made wooden counter and brick walls, with a mix of old time & new age menu. Of course it has all the standard coffee cappuccino drinks, nothing fancy but solid good. Treat yourself to their iced Jasmine Green tea - wonderful! Every cup brewed fresh by the nice sweet lady that works at the coffee bar in her tie dyed tea shirt and 1960's flowered bandanna - Perfect! The Jasmine Tea is flavorful, a cold cup of flowers and caffeine -very strong and very cold. Served in their standard and only size large glass - refreshing that I don't have to go through the Nouveau Cool game of Large, Grande' and Venti - This isn't Rome - It's Brooklyn, There's free wifi and electric plugs, and QUIET - so for the price of a cup of cold tea ( $2.00) I can sit on the comfy mix matched chairs at one of the many little mis-matched tables and enjoy working quietly. The energy here is mellow and friendly. A safe haven in the middle of a tumultuous city. Have a home made muffin - or a home made sandwich. But don't miss the Jasmine Tea! I have to go relax now.. Love this place. The atmosphere is cozy and can inspire some creative thoughts (which is what I usually go in for). The reason this place is a 4 and not a five is because the coffee is just ok (some would argue that is the main point of a coffee shop). They do have a good snack selection from the local bakery Colson who's almond croissants are awesome. Pro tip: One other thing that takes a little notch off of the review is if you happen to be here around 11:30 until about 1 or so, the local school lets kids out for lunch and they rush this place like mad. It can quickly become overwhelming if you have trouble concentrating. read more

This is one of those great little hidden gems of New York and more specifically Park Slope. I've only gone a handful of times, but it is one of my favorite coffee shops purely due to it's simplicity. Coffee drinks and small snacks, really all you need. There is no flashy business going on here, no neon signs, nothing trendy about it. It's just that coffee shop on the side of 6th st. 100th review! I LOVE this place. Not only is the coffee amazing, this establishment is everything Brooklyn claims to be about, without falling short like so many other places. Postmark is a cozy, warm, friendly space that effectively acts as a community gathering space. Lots of seating and even a nice little outdoor patio. Very diverse clientele and no elite hipster douchbaggery. They even have free stand-up comedy every Friday and welcome comics of all colors and orientations, and often have semi well known comics drop in to do a set. Also, it's wonderful that the comics are welcome to be controversial, but that cursing is frowned upon. I also love that the cafe donates their tips to African charities. So wonderful to encounter a place like this. read more

Great place to study or work! It is cozy, has great lighting, nice smooth music in the background, good air conditioning, great coffee and a killer grilled cheese for $3. I read some reviews about this place saying they wouldn't feel comfortable talking here. I can understand that since it is so quiet (why it's perfect to get quality work done), but there were some people talking and on the phone and it wasn't much of a distraction. Considering this place is only half a block from my apartment, it's a wonder I haven't been more. Small and cozy with a great staff, it's a wonderful place to hang out with a coffee and do work or read. They're now open on Sundays and have a nice front with a few tables and chairs you can sit at if outside. Coffee is from Brooklyn Coffee Roasters, who's a solid (but not great) roaster. Prices are reasonable and on point. I'm not a latte person, but the maple latte with syrup from Corner of Vermont is awesome. Recommended. read more

So far my first and only experience with Postmark was that my iced coffee came out of a plastic pitcher in the fridge... and they didn't tell me first. I even asked if they had iced coffee, looking around for the machine. "Yeah of course". OK, no. You have cold leftover coffee from the day before that you charge more for. Not, "iced coffee". At least be real with me. That being said, it didn't taste bad (it wasn't amazing either). and the seating is great. My boyfriend likes coming here to sit for a while and do work or read and his experience with the non iced coffee has been positive. I'd go back, I just wouldn't ever order the iced coffee. read more

There are numerous tables, a great window bar-top counter to view the street, and lots of cozy niches to relax while using the free Wi-Fi and savoring The Postmark's beverages, homemade muffins (Morning Glory a must), and other tasty treats. Their beverage menu is extensive, with perfectly prepared coffee drinks being the hallmark. Cooling summer-type drinks like watermelon Italian soda, lemonade and everything else you can imagine await your quenching needs. The staff is very caring for your satisfaction and will go out of their way to assist with any information you might need regarding the neighborhood businesses & providing directions. I came upon Postmark Cafe on a bucolic fall day and was immediately drawn to the cute, rustic atmosphere and friendly, unprententious feel of this Park Slope coffee shop. Their coffee and hot chocolate is good, iced tea freshly made, and all tips are donated to good causes. The music her is a mix of indie and popular music and my only gripe about it would be that the music tends to be very sad. Is this playlist called "Studying while Crying" or "Generic Melancholy Creative"?? Overwhelming wistfulness thanks to this playlist of acoustic Passion Pit covers, Adele and Ben Folds can be a deterrent to being productive and getting work done. Good, reliable internet. I'm in love with this coffee shop! It has a welcoming/cozy atmosphere. Delicious coffee/pastries, strong WiFi, and accessible outlets. It's the perfect place to get some work done. It is usually pretty quiet, and many people come to work on their laptops all day. The staff is friendly, and don't seem to mind this. With that said, occasionally people do come here with friends to catch up. In my experience, they have always been respectful of others and chat away quietly. It should be noted that Postmark is no longer cash-only! I hadn't been here for a couple of months due to a busy work schedule, but I came back last Saturday and (to my delight) saw that it now accepts credit card payment! read more
