I love this Postal Annex. Great service. Always super friendly, great hours and so helpful. I have to drop off packages and get receipts and there's no problem. I had trouble with a scan code for a return, and one employee offered to drop it off at another location for me on her way home! Amazing. way beyond the call of duty, but so much appreciated. The older lady working there seemed really disconnected, even though the place was empty. I mailed a package on Thursday last week and it is now Tuesday and still hasn't been shipped. I just called several times and was sent to voicemail even though the store is probably still empty. The owner should take a closer look at the business practices in there because there's no reason why my package wouldn't be mailed by now. I'd use another location or post office. read more

I just use them for a couple of very simple print jobs, including something that was out of the norm from what they are used to. I had to have that print project picked up by a Lyft driver and delivered to someone else and they handled everything beautifully. It was an exceptional experience. Very rude customer service! I walked in around 1:45 pm on a Friday. When I walked in, I saw one lady sitting at the counter with eyes closed. I thought to myself, maybe she's resting her eyes? Maybe she's praying? I let her be for a moment as I continued walking into the store. I hear a voice say, "can I help you?" To which I replied, "yes, I would like to drop off this envelope" (to be shipped via FedEx) The lady then scans my envelope and asks if I would like a receipt, which I replied "yes please" Her response was "oh well you need to communicate that and not just stand there" (she still had the scanner and my envelope in her hand! It did not appear that she was done with the collection process!) She hands me my receipt and walks away. I walk out of the store, take a few steps, then turn around and go back in the store to ask her if it is normal for people to just drop off packages and not get a receipt. She told me "yes because the receipt has the same info as the label you printed and put on the envelope" I told her that my envelope came to me with the shipping label already attached! (It was a return shipping envelope I am sending onboard behalf of my employer) The tone, attitude, and body language of this employee was very negative, and unfriendly at the least. Bad experience all around. Unfortunately, I may use this business again due to the very close proximity to my work. But who knows, I may go out of my way to another store with better customer service! read more

As I search for this location it's not a shock to see that it has the lowest reviews of all the locations in San Diego. I've tried this place twice for basic UPS return and USPS sending. The first visit they treated me so rudely. I couldn't wait to get out of there. Today I thought I'd give them another chance and I'm so sorry I did. This older Mexican worker was late to begin with. As I patiently waited outside she frantically was trying to open the store and she unlocks the front door and doesn't even acknowledge my presence. Rediculous. I come in and it turns out she doesn't accept UPS returns this time around even tho the other staff member accepted previously. I bring in 5 small packages to send out via USPS and now she tells me there's A LIMIT on usps. Wtf!!! I guess this is a SEMI postal annex. Do your job! The worst service. Incompetent staff that have just given up. DO NOT GO UNLESS you just wanna buy the useless stuff they sell on the boutique side cuz apparently they don't like to handle parcel service. read more

This was my first time using this Postal Annex location. Went in to print out a letter. Found a typo on the original e-mail I sent. So I fixed it and re-sent it. Asked Alexandra to print me three copies. The pricing was $3 plus 25¢ per copy. But since I had sent her a previous email she charged me for two emails plus the copies I made. I questioned the cost when I went to pay. She just patronized me and even turned the computer and showed me "see two emails, here and here. I paid $8+ for three pieces of paper. I know it's only a few dollars but the principle of it just showed how poor the customer service is there. I will not be using this Postal Annex location in the future. read more

Customer service was terrible from the older lady with short black hair and glasses. Clarified if the store was an authorized fedex shipping store but was met with a really condescending response and associated eye roll. Would not recommend this location. You'd get better luck driving down the street to the postal annex in Mission Valley. You've been warned. read more

I used their passport service several months ago and had a great experience from a lady with a European accent. Yesterday, I entered the store with two packages that needed posting. A hispanic woman was behind the counter on a FaceTime call, talking to someone about dental work. I stood there for a few minutes, waiting for her to finish, but she made no indication that she had even seen me, even though I was no more than two feet from her--I could have touched her. Her conversation continued on and on. Finally, I just turned around and started to walk out. As I reached the door she then said "Can I help you?" I said "I'll come back later." I then went to the Post Office, shipped off one package and then stopped at a UPS store to drop off the other. It's hard to believe the level of rudeness displayed by the middle-aged, bespectacled woman with the dark curly hair. Astonishing display of a don't-give-a-$hit attitude. read more

The person who rang me up tried to force me into the most expensive shipping option. I realize shipping at any third party postal place will be more expensive, but the cashier tried to tell me that the cheapest option was overnight service and that it would cost more than twice the standard post office rate. She wouldn't offer me ground service or any cheaper option, so I chose to ship my packages somewhere else. I'm not opposed to paying a bit more for convenience. I am opposed to having a sales person aggressively up sell me on the most expensive option and refuse to discuss more mid-range options. read more

Will never go to this place again. Customer service used to be great and then a few months ago or so new younger lady started with brown hair and it all just went bad. She was so rude and had an attitude every time I went in. I used to get my cashiers check through navy and then go into postal annex and send it out. They had all the info on file for who I needed to send it to and never had an issue and then ever since she started it was a hassle every single time I went in to just get the info pulled up. The last time I went in she claimed they didn't have the info. I had to find the address and write it on an envelope and got it sent out...few days later I got the check returned to my mailbox with the zip code crossed out with a different color pen like someone intentionally crossed it out. I don't know what her problem is but just steer clear of this location. They have another one just down the street on magnolia that the people are way nicer at and actually want to help you unlike here. read more

I usually frequent the postal annex near my house and have had good experiences. However, ended up using this one since it's near my work. This will be my last time. Usually when I drop off a package, it goes out the same day or next day which is why I had confidence that my 3 packages would get to their destinations in time. Turns out my packages were just sitting there and didn't leave until 5 days later. Not sure how they can even justify this. Keep in mind they charge you $1 for using their tape while other stores only charge 50 cents. They also don't have packaging slips for your shipping label like other postal annexes do. read more

During this pandemic I used their services many times and was always greeted and assisted by someone that was not wearing any face covering at all. I pointed this out and they acted as though I said nothing. This made me feel disrespected and unsafe to be in their store. I have since stopped coming and do not plan on ever returning to that location due to the fact that their employees do not care about the safety of their customers or even their coworkers that did decide to follow public health and CDC guidelines. I will gladly pay more money elsewhere to feel safe, respected, and not made to feel small for trying to protect both myself and the maskless employees of their establishment. read more

I suppose many people don't know the difference between a Postal Office and a Postal Annex. The annex is going to have a surcharge because they are a convenience stop. Think convenience store compared to the grocery store. So if you don't want to pay a little extra, be sure to go the the USPS when they are open and stand in the long lines. For me I like shopping here because the staff is always helpful and nice to me. Maybe I just bring out the good in people, who knows. Plus, I like the cute gifts they have at this location. I have purchased many stocking stuffers and quick gifts for my friends here that they have all loved. read more

I'm not exactly sure what caused for the cashier to have a rude and disrespectful attitude towards me, but it's unfortunate that two simple requests made her raise her voice and shake her head and roll her eyes at me. I simply asked if she could put clear tape all over the paper shipping label, on the box that I was mailing out, to avoid any damage to it. Very simple and easy request. I even offered to do it myself, to which she replied, "if I said I'm going to do it, then I'm going to do it." I offered politely in an attempt to not cause more work on her. It's a shame customer service is not what it used to be. People are losing their jobs while those who have a job are not grateful for it. Terrible service I just came in to drop off a package and Alejandra at the counter was very rude. All I needed was two pieces of tape to close my package. She tried to get me to buy a whole roll of tape. I asked her if she could just charge me for the tape, she used, which is already ridiculous when UPS has no problem taping up your package for you. Not only that but she charged me 2.50 for two pieces of tape and I had to give her cash instead of used card because there's a five dollar limit. The Cherry on top had to be the fact that she gave me all my change ($2.50) back in coins. I'm sorry and what world would you give anybody back their change in strictly coins when you could have clearly given me two dollars and two quarters which is what I requested for right after she handed me that laughable change. I will not tolerate for people purposely being assholes. It is not my problem that this is your place of work. I will never be coming back here ever again. I will continue to use the UPS store right up the road next to the Grocery Outlet they have always been so friendly and helpful. read more

Never going to Postal Annex again. Their entire marketing slogan is they compare the best rates across all the main courriers in the United States, to give you the fairest shipping fare. Well, today couldn't have proven their slogan more wrong. I came in with a light, small purse to ship to Florida. I was told it would be cheaper to ship with my own box than buying one of theirs. So since I brought my own medium size, I used that one. Postal Annex ended up charging me $39.83, via FedEx Ground! And yet FedEx's direct website estimates that same package at $31! I paid nearly $40 to ship a small purse weighing less than one (1) pound. What further baffles my mind is the fact that Postal Annex chose FedEx over USPS as the carrier for this item. Shipping the same item through a USPS rate would have been $13.60! And that's through their medium flat rate box! I know, I verified! This was an EBay shipment which was estimated at $12 via USPS Ground. So naturally I thought Postal Annex would simply ship it that rate. I hadn't known it would cost so much to ship my item! The woman at the counter kept telling me $39 was the cheapest option and honestly, I am just so shocked, appalled and livid. Most of all, I feel so cheated. To top it off... I had to buy tape. Couldn't just use their. This is very shameful Postal Annex, and clearly a poor reflection of their moto. I will only go to my direct courrier for shipping in the future. read more

This place is a huge rip off! I came with my package and asked what the cheapest way to get it to Miami would be. I was told USPS would be $112 for 7 day shipping. When I was shocked they said "it is going a far way". I left knowing how ludicrous their quote was and went to the post office down the street. What do you know, the 7 day shipping only set me back $42! This was the same exact package, shipped the same day, getting their the same day via the same carrier. Somehow postal annex was charging over twice as much. I made the mistake of thinking they would have competitive pricing for all carriers, but with a UPS store up the street and a post office down the street there is zero reason to ship something from here. read more

I've used Postal Annex's for many years, but I would suggest you avoid THIS location at all cost. The owner/cashier is the rudest person ever and acts like anything you ask is beneath her to answer. I had an item to FedEx and asked her where the sleeves were, she said we don't have any. As I was about to leave, I noticed a big FedEx sign in the window "pack and ship store". So I marched back and said "I want to send this, give me the sleeve...you are an authorized FedEx store! " The old beeatch begrudgingly gave me one she had behind the counter and I said "now I want you to print a receipt". She only responds to rudeness. I WILL NEVER SET FOOT IN THIS STORE AGAIN. Yeah.....the other reviews do not lie. This place doesnt seem to understand how to retain customers. I bought a padded envelope FROM THEM to shipping a small item. I had a prepaid label. When I asked for tape to attach the label to the envelope I bought from them she told me it cost a dollar for tape. The envelope is only 8"x5"- its not a giant box AND I bought something from them- don't be so greedy. I hope you enjoy the extra bit of tape on your roll - it cost you a customer. read more

Great experience! The young man behind the register was very personable and well groomed. He is bilingual which I find to be incredibly important and helpful in Southern California and beyond. This postal annex destination is clean and has so many little trinkets and thoughtful gifts for friends, family or even your coworkers. Highly recommend as the gentlemen helped me with finding the least expensive shipping price. He really took his time and was even nice and generous to a solicitor who walked in. She was extremely annoyed that I was there and gave me bad service and when someone that she knew walked in she was friendly and courteous and basically try to get me out of the store as soon as possible so she can have a conversation with that person.
