Came to postal annex to get a notary done and mail something. Carol is very nice and friendly but the guy in the picture is RUDE. Bad manners and lacks a lot of patience. He did not even show any friendliness or greet us when we arrived but he said "what do you want?" And when we were filling out the notary papers he threw a little fit saying how he told us to write XYZ but wasn't even clear in the first place. This one asian lady who always work there gave me a rude service the last time I met her and today was the last straw. She was using a louder voice at me and acted like I was dumb. Whenever other customers came, she was really nice and didn't sound like she hated her job. If you don't like your job, then quit. You ain't got to be a bitch, but I feel like she was targeting me specifically. I also feel like she was talking shit about me in her dialect with some other usual customer because she greeted them so kindly and like side glanced me when she was talking in their dialect. This rating is for their notary service only, since I did not use any other services they have there. I needed 2 powers of attorneys notarized for a loan refinancing. Had called first to see if I need to make an appointment. The lady who answered the phone said, "I can't guarantee the notary is going to be here, I can't keep him." That should've been my first clue. So then I asked if I should call an hour before I arrive, just to make sure someone is there to do notary, she answered, "that would be better." I called again before coming, and was given a bit of "I would be too busy" from the notary public. I told him it was only two pages of power of attorney. So he agreed to do it. At this point, I started to feel like I'm begging for them to take my business? Anyway, we got there for two pieces of single-page power of attorney, and then the notary public asked me why there are two of the same thing? Now, I'm a notary public too, but obviously can't notarize my own stuff, so I explained that the document is for the bank to transfer vehicle titles, but then commented that a notary public's job isn't verifying any documentation but simply confirm the signer in front of him/her is the said signer. To which, the lady who was next to the notary, and I assumed the woman who initially answered the phone said to me, "No, as a notary public, he needs to know what he's notarizing." That's when I told them I too am a notary public, and what she's saying is wrong. She then asked me if I argued with governmental officials! Omg, who do these people think they are? I think they need their refresher course in notary public to understand their roles better. Anyway, so their attitudes were already rubbing me the wrong way. Then, as the notary public, A-Hamid examined the power of attorney, he said he had to use an attachment as the paper I brought does not contain the right notary language. Mind you, I have used these same forms for other customers and NEVER had another California notary public said it was NOT ok. He crossed out the bottom portion of my original document and put certificate attached. I told him it was unnecessary but it's fine as long as he doesn't charge me extra money. Really, I just hope that my bank does not reject the document because of what he did. Bottom line, making money doing notary is easy, all you are doing is verifying the person in front of you with proper ID, and voila, charged $15 per signature in a few minutes of time. But what I didn't appreciate was the attitude from the moment I first inquired about the notary service to the interactions I had with A-Hamid and the other lady. I don't like people who think they know better than you when they lack the professionalism or the actual knowledge to perform the job correctly. Not to mentioned they acted like they were superior than you. If I wasn't in a time crunch to get it down, I would've easily gone to another place that offer notary services. So be forewarned - use someone else who actually know how to do notary correctly. I actually had an overnight mail to send out right after the notary, but because of their attitudes in performing the notary, I decided to take my package elsewhere to be sent. I just needed to drop off a FedEx package since it's not accepted at UPS stores and it was on my way to my next stop. Went in on a Wednesday to just drop off but due to Covid, only 2 employees working and of course they were both helping people who had complicated issues. Just my luck and 1 other person was already waiting. Tight quarters. So I waited. Then another customer came in and was waiting but the. Just asked to leave her package on the counter. So I did the same thing since it was prepaid. I just hope it did get mailed out since I didn't want to wait either because they were slow. SYOY! read more

Wow, so many bad reviews, I should've checked yelp before going here. Very gruff service from the older man working the counter. I needed to send a prepaid package and asked for a receipt. He said that they had nothing to do with the sending, UPS just picks it up and they send through 50-60 packages a day... ok now I really want a receipt in case it gets lost. He says that I can just track it online with the tracking number (duh), but I wanted proof that I dropped it off there in case it gets misplaced. He then says "what you don't trust me" and I say "I literally met you a minute ago" and that if they don't provide receipts, I'd be happy to go to UPS. He then tells me it's a waste of paper and then begrudgingly, obviously annoyed, prints me out a receipt that is literally 3"x2" big. Lol And not a thank you or even a word out of his mouth even as I thanked him and left. What an ordeal for such a small request, who the heck knows how he'd deal with an actual problem(I'm now even more glad that I got a receipt). I'm not looking for a conversation or to make friends, just someone who'll tell me straight up that they don't want to do something, so I can take my business elsewhere rather than acting like a cranky child. If you'd rather give your business to people who are better at customer service, check out the UPS in the Ralph's shopping center on Irvine & Jamboree about 5 minutes away. They provide excellent service and receipts are freely given :) There's a also ton of better rated Postal Annex stores in the area too. read more

The two people who were present were rude when I indicated I was have difficulty forwarding an e mail label to them. The woman actually made fun of my lack of technical skills. Then added I shouldn't spoil their day. I then could not get the email to be sent due to poor reception. After at least 20 minutes I was advised to stand by door for better reception. An asian lady that works here is very very rude. Her tone was just angry the whole time she was talking to me. Came here for a drop off and the lady just grabs my box and goes "IS THE INVOICE INSIDE?" I was confused at first since they don't usually ask for what's inside and I just explained to her that there was clothing that I need to return back. Then she goes "I DIDN'T ASK WHAT WAS INSIDE , I ASKED WAS THE INVOICE INSIDE?" Then she does her thing after and out of nowhere she goes "OK DONE!" She really needs to fix her attitude. While waiting in line I don't see scanning of anything so it seemed like all shipping are entered in manually at the store. I needed my fingerprints done. I called prior and was told to come in any time during business hours. When I got there, there were 2 staff. I was told approximately 15 min wait since the gentleman that does the fingerprints was helping someone. I only waited about 5 min. The fingerprint process went smoothly and was quick. No issues and staff was professional. There were regulars coming in and out and seemed like they had a great relationship. I would definitely use them again. Definitely much friendlier than a UPS store down the street. read more

I asked him how much is the stamps and I did not hear him clear and when I asked him again, he got irritated and said to me I told 20 stamps for $ 13 dollars sarcastically. I went in to take my passport photo here and the lady was very in a rush even though it was not busy inside. I only had two tries to take my photo and that felt a little unfair. The photos ended up not being able to be used because they were CUT wrong, so I wasted my money for nothing. I had to pay again to get photos done at the passport office I went to. I didn't think I needed my photos done. They also gave me an expired passport FORM from years ago. Waste of money and time. read more

My experience today was not a good one. The man helping me was unhelpful and rude to me and the woman was on edge and yelling to him to tell the people on the phone that she'd have to call them back because she couldn't do it right now! When it was my turn I asked for stamps and he just said "stamps?" And so I clarified and I asked him if he could help me get my two letters to Texas by Friday and he said he could and it would be 120 cents... I was caught off guard because he said one hundred and my mind thought $120 dollars, but then I realized that was only $1.20 and I thought he was making a little joke so I laughed a bit and he straight faced said "that's the price." So I pulled out my card and he informed me "we don't take cards" so I waited for him to give me options but he didn't. I told him I didn't have cash and he point blank said "well you'll have to go get some cash". And just stared at me... I completely understand that CC machines are expensive and if he had asked me to even buy $10 worth of product to get those letters mailed I would have. I don't think it's worth it if they can't give options or be kind. I ended up going down to the FedEx Office and spending $22 to get Friday delivery. Customer service is priceless. We went there to get notary and without knowing made a mistake by signing the form before hand and he started treating us like we are criminals. I usually don't write reviews but Ms. T.'s review on 9/2/21 caught my eyes since I was the person who brought the cake that day. I remember that day so vividly because I was so shocked. I just stopped by to check my mail and dropped off a cake for Mr. Hamid to wish him a Happy Birthday and all of a sudden I hear someone yelling at us saying "I was here first." Mr. Hamid then said "I'm just thanking her for the cake and at the same time I'm attending to you." Since I was shocked seeing Mr. Hamid and I being yelled at, and all I said is "life is too short; let's just be nice to each other." And later I told Mr. Hamid "don't let this ruin your special day." I've been a customer of Postal Annex for the past 20 years. If I recall correctly, Mr. Hamid and his wife, Mrs. Carol (referred to as the Asian staff lady) took ownership about 7 years ago. I've seen nothing but kindness from Hamid and Carol. They go above and beyond as far as giving you the best customer service. There's clearly been a misunderstanding here, and to demand respect one must respect others regardless of their nationality, ethnic background or educational achievements. The United States is a beautiful country full of bilingual people of different origins, and I know we all love that about America. I have a special honor for US veterans and sincerely thank Ms. T. for having served our beautiful country. And I want to thank Hamid and Carol for their exceptional service all these years. I came here because I was too late for the post office, and I needed postage to mail a parcel envelope first class with tracking. To begin, I have a sense of humor. So when the obnoxious, Asian lady (I'm Asian too so no racism here) tells me the customer she's helping currently is more important than I am when I didn't say a word and was just patiently waiting in line--no problem. Because she was making a Big Deal about the customer being pregnant--whatever. But when it's finally my turn, I asked her how much to mail my item. She weighs it, it comes to 1.3 ounces, and says $4.39 or something over $4. I declined to mail it there since I thought that was kind of high for postage. Next day, I go to the regular post office on League, price for postage for same item, $2.67. Obnoxious customer service and a rip-off when it comes to postage, I'll stick with the US post office. read more

As of yesterday, this place has lost me as a customer. I've been a loyal patron of this Postal Annex since I moved to Irvine two years ago. Yesterday, I took them a small, light package (8x4x4) that needed to be sent to Canada. I told them I wanted to send it via FedEx or UPS so it has tracking. They quoted me ~$83. I said that's way too much and that I just wanted to send it via a ground service. They said FedEx and UPS only send to Canada via air because it's international. That's a load of bullshit. I politely asked them if they realize that it's possible to drive to Canada. They weren't amused. So I said: "Fine, send it via the US postal service." They replied, "That'll be $49." What?!? Forty nine dollars to mail a small package to Canada with no tracking, are you joking? Do I look like I was born yesterday? I picked up my package and walked out. I got in my car, found the nearest UPS store on Google Maps and went there. Their charge to ship the same package: $21.95. read more

I had a weird experience here. I came in to buy postage for a letter. The man behind the counter seemed nice and friendly. I told him what I needed, and he told me the price. I replied that this was fine. Then he asks me for my letter and says he'll mail it out later or by tomorrow. I'm thinking, "Wait, I need to mail this out today. And how do I know he's going to mail it out sometime soon?" So I ask him for the postage -- I figure, give me the stamp and I'll mail it myself. He answers back something that I can't understand. So I just politely tell him, I'll pay you for the stamp. He replies that I need to pay first, then he'll get the postage for me. So I'm left with the thought that once I pay him, he'll keep the letter behind the counter and mail it when he wants to. I tried to explain to him that I wanted to see the postage before paying. After a weird exchange, I told him I would mail the letter elsewhere. Not sure why it was so hard to buy postage here. read more

This PostalAnnex location wins for worst customer experience ever provided. I called the location to ensure that I could use my FedEx account number to ship my parcels at this location; at which point, the male attendant confirmed - yes. I arrive at the store with my 6 packages and an excel sheet of all the addresses they need to be shipped to. I informed the attendant that I wanted to ship the items utilizing FedEx. He asked me, "are you shipping, or is the company shipping?" I asked for clarity - and he provided the clarity and appeared frustrated. He then took down the name, the address, and phone number. At the time when he asked for the phone number, i told him the phone number (xxx)xxx-6700 He looked at me, and said "impossible".. at this point, I just repeat the phone number, and he said "no, that's not possible". I am very confused at this moment. I articulated the number for a 3rd time.. and he said. oh. ok. He beings entering addresses and generating ship labels. After the first package, I clarify with him - "I am able to use my FedEx account number, correct". He looks at me, and angrily says "why would you say this now" "why are you here then!?" I tell him "i called earlier, and a male attendant told me this was possible" He shakes his head, tells me curtly "fill out these.. we didn't need to do this". I took my packages and left. The entire process took 15 minutes. I will never get those 15 minutes back. I will never return. read more
