I went in to FedEx overnight a 3.6 lb box. It's the same size I've been sending at other locations…read moremultiple times this year. The most I've ever paid was $210 for Saturday delivery. Upscale mail quoted me $340 to arrive by 4:30, $360 to arrive by noon. I was shocked and questioned it, but was told all costs everywhere had gone up. There also isn't a way to put in my FedEx account number anymore, it's all under their own. I paid the ungodly amount and later looked up the cost on the FedEx site using the same info from my receipt and the cost was $206 to arrive by 8 am, $155 to arrive later. I called back to ask them to double check the rate and was told it was correct. I asked why in the world the markup was double and was told that only the owner has access to what the rates are so he couldn't answer. He was not rude in any way, so I do not fault the employee, but the store itself is an absolute rip off. I send these packages multiple times each year and usually drive to the valley. I decided to drive to this place which was slightly closer and it's a small business, so thought I'd support them. I'm fine with a markup and making a profit but this was an absolute rip off and I told them I'd never come back. If you don't mind shelling out a ridiculous amount of money for something you can go elsewhere for less, cool. This is your place. However I will never set foot in there again.

A Google search (https://www.staples.com/sbd/cre/noheader/about_us/corporate-responsibility/environment/index.html) showed me that they would take my printer! Not a surprise as I have used staples before for recycling. I called first because hey, maybe they have specific hours for that. Recycling confirmed! I arrive and am told it costs $20. What? I didn't see that online nor has it cost me elsewhere. Would be nice if that had been mentioned when I called. A more thorough search online does show that printer is excluded from free recycling at this location and requires a $9.99 fee. Get it together, Staples. I know you usually cost more than other places for office supplies, but at least I know that upfront. Fortunately I have a lot of other options for recycling and office supplies and won't have to return.
