There is a gentleman at the front counter that is amazingly welcoming and makes the experience a good one. The line sometimes may be a bit long but it's not horrible. Super rude service by Postal worker Michael for no apparent reason. I stopped in to drop a letter containing a gift card off in person. He told me I needed to add an extra stamp because it wasn't machinable. His tone was extremely rude, unprofessional, condescending and uncalled for. Especially when he was incorrect. I've sent gift cards in the past with only one stamp. I told him this and he rudely shouted at me to put it in there then. He should find a happier place to work because working with the public isn't his specialty. read more

Today was my first and last time at this location. I scheduled an appointment to take a passport photo 2 weeks in advance online. When I got to the post office, there was a handwritten sign that read,"Passports have been cancelled for today". I understand that things happen, but I drove 20 minutes to get here. I was sent a confirmation email when I made the appointment, they could have sent an email notifying me of the cancellation. I ended up going to Walgreens, no appointment required. read more

Taped a delivery attempt notice on my door and they didn't even try to deliver to my front porch as requested! My wife and I both sitting on couch when the alleged attempt was made! If I could give zero stars I would. Suffice it to say this one star was earned one - one million million million billion billionth at a time. On March 23 I mailed a simple letter, with delivery scheduled for 25 March. Seems reasonable, it's only going to ATLANTA! According to the lies on the usps website, the package at allegedly scanned departing that same day. I say allegedly as when I called they could not tell me WHERE it was in the SYSTEM! It is now 3 April, and said letter is nowhere to be found (with no status update in TWENTY-FOUR PLUS HOURS!! Of course the USPS says "oh, we'll investigate this and let you know in THREE BUSINESS DAYS that, guess what? We cannot find it. If you definitely want your letter or package to make it, DO NOT use the USPS in general AND the Mableton Post Office in Particular. NINE DOLLARS WASTED! Think I'll get a refund when this letter is delivered too late for the VERY perishable AND time sensitive contents? Oh, hell no. Use the USPS at your own risk! Why is USPS still in business? They are not reliable! Amazon needs to take over this business. I moved into a new apartment complex and USPS has not put in the locks for the mailboxes so we are forced to go this post office to pick up our mail. Wow just wow!! i ordered a new computer for my car worth $580 on priority mail express it was expected to be delivered in 2-3 days now it's already being over 2 weeks my package haven't arrived and when i got on usps app it says "delivered picked up by individual at 7:58" pm which make no sense since the post office in my area closes at 5 pm i went to the post office just to be told that they cant help me they dont know where my package is. Then i went & file a claim they never responded anything. These usps guys are stealing peoples packages and scanning them as "picked up" or "delivered" I done lost $600 to usps in top of that i had to rebuy the computer but this time my mechanic ordered it from napa so i dont get scammed by usps again this whole mess costed me over $1,000 and i think its messed up how usps is scamming people now days. Because you pay for an insurance that works for absolutely nothing in top of that they say Priority Mail Express cost extra because is faster shipping bs thats a lie packages don't ever arrive in 3 days I had chose this option because supposedly was going to arrive faster than ordering it in napa but at the end of the day napa might take a little longer but is 100% legit no scam read more

Absolutely awful! Full of a bunch of people who don't want to work! Canceled all passport appointments for a whole month and doesn't tell or contact you. Went there Friday and they said come Saturday morning they are doing a few. We get there first and people start lining up behind us. It's literally a line of 20+ people. Lines everyday reach out to the lobby and all they will have working the register is two people and they carry on conversations with everyone. This is the worst location ever. It makes me not want to do business with any United States Postal Service. I'd rather pay for FedEx or UPS. The staff, there is one in particular that makes me want to really avoid the place. She will sit there and have a 30 minute conversation with a customer while looking at everyone sighing in line. Once I was there she had the nerve to tell a customer at 4:45 that she gets off at 5 o'clock and she would not have time to process her transaction. She stated that the post office "don't pay her enough to work over her time". She then takes her items away at 4:45 and then comes back out at 5 o'clock and grabs her sippy cup and looks at the customers that are still standing in line waiting to be assisted with a smirk and walks off. I don't even know why she has a job there because she probably only assist four customers a day. I went recently and again she was sitting there in another conversation with another customer that was at another terminal and a customer said, can you assist us because you're not helping anyone and the other customer that you are conversing with is being assisted. She looked at us like we were crazy and she continued her conversation. I just left because I don't have time for Ronald McDonald today. This is my neighborhood Post Office. I try to avoid this place. Not because it's unsanitary or unfriendly conditions. In fact, I would consider this place friendly and clean. I had no problems with people who work here. They were all upbeat and friendly. Just like most Post Offices (or any government office) I've been to, it takes a long time. The lines get long, and they move slow. The staff, as nice as they are, like to take their sweet time. It doesn't matter how many people are waiting in line. They will only have 2 people behind the counter and will take their time. When I need to mail something, I try to use the UPS store or something instead of coming here. read more

When it comes to passports, this post office is the WORSE!!! I have made an interview appointment twice and, both times, someone called and canceled the morning of my appointment. My first appointment was for 11/4. Someone called and claimed that the person doing passports got pulled away so my appointment needed to be canceled and that I should go online and rescheduled. So I did that. I went online and scheduled an appointment for over 2 weeks out. However, I didn't completely trust this location and felt that they would likely do it again. So I decided to also make an earlier appointment at a different location and I figured between the two, I'd get it done. Well, that appointment was last week and it went without any issues. I still had my appointment at the Mableton location scheduled for today, at 9:00. Honestly I was going to cancel it a few days ago but was curious to see whether it would get canceled again. Eventually I forgot to go ahead and cancel it. Well... this morning, a little over an hour, before my scheduled time, I get another call saying that the passport agent is not there and I would have to reschedule. Again, this is the second time at this location that my appointment was canceled. Now I'm wondering if they are telling the truth or if they, for whatever reason, are avoiding passport appointments. Either way, if you have a dire need for a passport or are in a hurry, PLEASE avoid this location. I didn't need mine in rush but I would be so disappointed and annoyed if I did and my appointment was canceled twice. I am so happy that I trusted my instincts and drove a little further to get it done. Otherwise, I'd be out of luck again fooling around with the Mableton office. Do yourself a favor and find another location as well. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because, anytime that I have needed to mail off something, the employees were helpful and nice enough. read more

The parking is a little crappy, especially if you come off the main road, because there is no way to get through other then going through were the drop off box is right there when you turn in, so if someone is dropping off some mail you better learn some patience. For as busy as they were they were very fast. Went in to get some stamps and was out in less than 5 minutes. Very convenient if you are in the area. read more

I've been here a few times because of the convenience and location not too far from my house. I've never had a problem at this "Lost Office". But on one of my check ins, I noticed that one of the clerk's forgot to take her daily medication. She continued to talk loud over her customers and her demeanor was based from a very rude disposition. A long story short I paid for my packed material to be sent across country. At the moment of payment I proceeded to pull out my credit card and my ID- I did not sign the back if my card for obvious identity theft in the day and age; rather I write in the signature section, "check ID". This rude clerk began to talk loud and direct telling me I had to sign my card in order for her to process this payment option. I replied in a calm non provoking way, I have the right to not sign my card but before I could get the sentence out she had gotten louder and belligerent. Calmly I stepped back from the counter pulled out another form of payment and dropped a survey on my experience to the post master. I believe when I go back in this clerk avoids me, which tells me one or two things. Her meds are kicking in and /or she is not too far gone if she remembers how silly she must have looked when I was in here like almost a month ago. Common courtesy is something that you can't teach just any adult. It's something that you are either taught at a very young age, or you have self respect. Outside of this experience the lines can be long and the self service machines in the lobby are not up to date. They SELDOM WORK. This entire post office can use a makeover starting with supplies, happy service employees and self service machines that are regularly serviced and functional. I can't complain about this post office. Of all the times I had to deal with an employee here, only once did I get a somewhat rude employee. Every other time I've come in, I was always greeted with a friendly employee. So it's not enough for me to rate a one or two star for that one time experience. I walked in today and I was shocked to see how long the line was! I then realized that it was almost closing time, however, the line went pretty quick surprisingly! This review is more for the USPS than the actual location. Most of the people that work at this location are really nice and have been here for years. They are friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable; however, this is one of the slowest post offices I have ever been to. It seems they are constantly either understaffed or taking breaks. I've waited in line almost an hour because there were only 2 people working during peak hours. I love that the people here know you by face and are nice, but customer service is inclusive of how long it takes to make a transaction. Also, some of the staff can be very short at times if someone takes too long. It's never happened to me, but I've seen it happen to others. As long as we have to wait to be helped, they could exercise a little more patience. Overall, the Post Office in general must do better. The rates keep increasing but they continue to decrease staff. read more

If you only use the self service options at the post office then it's 5 stars, but if you need to go to the counter or speak to someone on the phone, consider another location or set your expectations low... I've had two major issues relating to moving and mail forwarding both were pain. I've moved in the past but for some reason the mail situation related to my move from Mableton gave me all sorts of trouble coupled with when I called the post office for assistance they were rude, cut me off, would not let me finish my questions and even hung up on me. I was very calm and polite so I was confused as to why the over the top rudeness was necessary. I'm thankful I no longer live in Mableton and have to deal with this post office. Some of the individuals at the counter are nice, but no one is really going out of their way to ensure that issues get resolved. A lot of passing the buck and should shrugs. PROS: - self service kiosk - ample PO boxes available for rent - usually a good variety of stamp options CONS: - Not helpful when you have issues with your mail - Slow service at the counter - Some "nice" employees who are not helpful - low morale in general at this post office (similar to other post offices in Metro Atlanta) I did file a customer service complaint at www.usps.gov. The Mableton Post Office employees here are soo nice! Especially Bill Phillips at the counter. He went out of his way, even after the front door was locked to look for my missing pkg.!
