I have never met a lazier group of postal workers. This location shouldn't even exist at this point I came in at two today and they had completely closed down the post office by 130 said the guy that was there before me that is absolutely ridiculous. The postal workers that work here should be a shame. They are a disappointment to our US tax dollars. read more

I'm surprised at all the 1-star reviews for this post office. I still decided to give this place a shot since it's not far from where I work and I wanted to mail something during my lunch break. I thought, surely, this post office couldn't be bad that, could it? My visit turned out to be a solid 4, arguably 5, star experience. I was mailing my passport renewal application. I already had my application packed and sealed. I just needed to pay for postage. I showed up to the post office around 11:45am on a Monday and there was just one employee working (out front) and three customers ahead of me in line. I came at the right time because a fairly long line quickly formed behind me. Again, there was only one worker so the line moved slowly. If you have to come during lunchtime, I recommend coming before 11:45am if possible. They could definitely have used at least 1 more employee to help speed things up. The employee who helped me (and literally everyone else during my visit) was John Lewis. He was friendly and got me what I needed, fast and cheap. I told him I was mailing out a passport renewal application and would like tracking. He suggested First-Class Package Service. It includes tracking with delivery within 1 to 3 business days for only $3.50. What a deal. I got a nice and clear printed receipt with my tracking info. My mail, destination: Philadelphia, was delivered 1 day sooner than estimated. I was in and out in about 15 minutes. This post office is located at the busy "The Terrace at Windy Hill" shopping center. The post office has a gaudy, bright green storefront. Parking at this shopping center can get tight during peak times. Inside, the post office is old and and it smells like an old library. You can get shipping supplies here. Some of them are free and some of them cost money. You can get a PO box here too. read more

Not sure why the low rating but I sorta a post office nerd so I have lots of love for the USPS. I came here the week of Thanksgiving and had no problems dropping off some packages...I came around 3-ish and the place was almost empty....nothing to it. I do want to say that for the service that they provide its still a great bargain. I use the USPS website to order free boxes and those flat rate boxes are a great bargain for sending heavy stuff because you can send 35 pounds worth of stuff and if it fits into the box then it ships for that rate regardless of whether going to Seattle or just down the street. If you mail it through Fed Ex even their Smart Post which is their cheapest rate..just can't compete with the USPS's flat rates. Now if you really want to get crazy because you have a bunch of stuff to send for the holidays you can check out their regional boxes and the rates for these are even cheaper...it's like $2 and change per pound compare to the regular priority which is like $4 and change per pound... Since its the holidays check out their pretty holiday stamps for all those Christmas cards you don't mail out any more...cheers! read more

Came here to buy 2500 stamps - REALLY. After getting home, discovered they only gave me 2400. When I went back, I mentioned it and they gave me 100 stamps with no stress. Good people. It was a lot of stamps and I understand how it might have went wrong. read more

I searched a post office near me and this one came up about 3 minutes from my house. I read a bunch of the reviews and saw they were mostly negative, but still decided to go because it was so close. Went on a Saturday morning about 10am. No line, no wait. I had a pre paid label and I just needed needed tape to seal my box. The station was nice and neat and had tape, scissors, and pens on display for customers to use. Taped my box right up and walked straight to the counter where I was greeted nicely, was able to ship my package, get a receipt, and head out, while being told have a nice day. I was in and out in under 4 minutes, and it only took that long because I had to tape up my box before mailing. read more

First of all, this place is filthy. But, the staff is so rude. I mean, I'm sorry if I have questions about MY package. It's not like y'all have the best track record for delivering items timely. I waited in line to drop a package but I needed a receipt. So, the attendant yells "drop off is here!" I replied, "I will need a receipt." She repeats, "drop off is here." So I repeated that I'd need a receipt. She responds, "I heard you." Listen, Linda...I didn't know if you did. I am speaking thru a mask. I KNOW for a FACT every one of you in these reviews are liars. I visit this WONDERFUL post office every other day for business and the Post workers are THEE BEST postal workers Ive ever encountered! The ones of you in these comments have to feel entitled to speedy service and thats a personal issue within. Every other day I come in there may be 10-15 people in line and the line is worked down within 5 minutes depending on the customers whom get to the front and converse WITH THE POST WORKERS! These ladies are very considerate, helpful, efficient, knowledgeable in their duties and always a pleasure to talk to. The customer service is top tier and you wont find that at any other office in the Metro Atlanta area, as those other workers always act irritated with their jobs. Its just funny to me that you entitled animals expect for these postal workers to carry the mail on their backs to the destinations! HELL NOOOOO! they have to wait for the truck to come pick up the mail, which IS OUT OF THEIR CONTROL!!! You are truly some lame ass weirdos who come to this post office, just miserable and controlling! It is only possible to give one star, but if i could I would give 0 :) I have a clothing business and live in a complex so I go to the post office to ship out my orders. The drop boxes are always broken and it takes weeks to get them fixed. Sometimes my packages take weeks to get shipped and I know they have a stressful job so I give them the benefit of the doubt because they have to deal with a lot. Although, they close early and don't post it ANYWHERE and when i tried to walk inside they YELLED AT ME so so absolutely rude. I almost cried. Even though this store is right by my house it is run so poorly and the employees are so rude when I always greet them nicely. I understand that COVID is making shipping harder etc but this is my business and I do this to make extra money besides my job and when they don't fix the drop boxes and yell at me when I ask where I put my priority package that needs priority shopping because of the label I paid for, That is extremely discouraging. I dropped a package off here and usually they're supposed to scan it in but they didn't. Instead they transferred it and now there's no way of me checking on where it is. I would think it doesn't take much of your time or energy to scan in a package that already has everything on the label. There needs to be an understanding that your actions (laziness) has consequences especially on the package owner because now I'm worried about something that could've been easily avoided, like come on. read more

if I could give this post office a negative rating I would. I have never dealt with more disrespectful employees. They are rude, inconsiderate, and not willing to help anyone. Seems the only thing they know how to do is lock the door at 4:59 pm on the dot. I had correct postage on my 2 pieces of certified mail. And all I needed was for someone to date stamp for me, as the contents of the mail were time sensitive. Mind you there was a line of 4+ people still waiting. I was told I was a security breach and I did not leave they would call the police on me. Again not 1 transaction needed to be made. I assured them I would call the postmaster, but I have since heard a response from him. It really is so disheartening that these are "Government Employees" I highly suggest using UPS or FedEx after this experience. read more

There was a long line and figured maybe the hours changed to 9:00 because I saw someone was in there working. This post office was convenient to work and I needed a package shipped pronto, so I ran up to this location on my lunch break. I have to agree with the other reviewers that the service at this location is piss poor at best. While waiting in line to mail my package there was a lady and her child in line, she asked if she could borrow a pen and the lady working at the post office told her she would have to buy one; yet there were like 4 pens sitting right there in front of her. Well the lady waiting and her child left; to probably go to another location. I wasn't treated much better when I asked for the options to ship my package. read more

I usually go to the location down the street at Cumberland Mall because the wait usually isn't that bad (the wait at the Akers Mill location is always terrible). On Saturday, the Akers Mill location was supposed to open at 9am and the Cumberland Mall location was supposed to open at 10am. I arrived at Cumberland Mall around 11:15am, and they were closed (and the opening times on the front of the location had been removed with only the closing times still shown). So I drove down the street to the Akers Mill location, since they should've been open for at least 2 hours by then. They were closed too! There were several people standing outside, baffled that a Post Office was just closed when they were supposed to be open, and even more baffled when I mentioned that the nearest location was also closed. read more

The day after Christmas. And I while at the Post Office, I encountered the mean ole Grinch. I came in with a box - with a pre-paid label - but my box was too big to fit in the drop box. SO instead of dropping it off like I would have with normal package or just leaving it on counter - I deigned to ask the person next in line if it was okay to ask the postal worker a quick question. After 100% waiting for customer to respond - Miss / Mrs. Anderrson proceeds to yell at me - and I mean yell, " MA"AM - I'M GOING TO NEED YOU TO STEP AWAY FROM THE COUNTER AND GET IN LINE." So I said, "Sorry," - and got in line. The guy next to me - commented on how rude he thought it was - and we had a quiet conversation. And I do mean quiet. I was shocked and embarrassed - but decided I would just get her name and file a complaint. No need to cause a scene, right? Apparently, wrong. When I got it was my turn to be serviced - thank goodness - or so I thought - I was waited on my the only other clerk working - not MISS ANDERSON. At this point - I didn't know her name. Based on my position in front of counter and the monitor - along with the fact that her name tag was hanging down vertically (in keeping with her slovenly appearance) - I couldn't actually see her name. So I explained to the clerk helping me, what I was trying to ask previously and also asked the name of female clerk who had been so rude - and not even in a loud, projected voice. At which point, rude clerk, aka Miss Anderson - interrupted her conversation with her customers and said, "MY NAME IS MS. ANDERSON.' So I replied, "oh - so you can stop your conversation now to answer me - but you couldn't do it before?" The conversation deteriorated even further at this point - the lowpoint being the clerk threatening to call 911 on me if I didn't remove myself from the premises. This AFTER the clerk waiting on me actually apologized for my experience. This AFTER this elderly female postal clerk continued to interrupt her transaction with not one - but two customers - to yell at me on my way out the door. Not sure if Santa didn't bring her the gift she was wanting or what - but I was TOTALLY unprepared for this level of anger or animosity from a stranger today. This is an African American woman, who appears to be in her mid to late fifties with a shaved head. My SO told me she might be sick (based on the shaven head) but I don't think she's sick - unless it's mental illness. If she's ill - she's the feistiest, sick person I've ever encountered. I think she's just a bitter, ugly, mean-spirited person who has very little control in her personal life - so she's uses the Post Office as her own little queendom to reign terror on those who dare pass through her queendom's doors. And - that's just my 2-cents worth of armchair psychology. So shame on her for being itchy and evil - and shame on me too - for allowing myself to be dragged down in the mud along with her. I didn't curse - and I didn't really even raise my voice - but I really felt like I should have just ignored her - especially when I factor in her age. I typically try to remain VERY deferential to anyone that's at least 20 years older than me - but this woman was just so EXTRA. I'm a AA female - and as I mentioned before - so is she - and the rest of the people who witnessed our 'scene' were Caucasian. So I have to admit - as I look back on this - I feel even more ashamed that our behavior almost certainly contributed to the negative African American stereotypes you often see on TV. We acted like we were filming a scene from Love and Hip Hop Atlanta or Real Housewives from Atlanta. Oh well. We live and we learn. To end on positive note - I did file a formal complaint - and the clerk who actually waited on me - was nice. read more

Worse post office ever!! Rude ppl plus they just charge me $8.25 bc by mistake I place on top of the paper label a priority tape, that I couldn't remove bc that would it damage the shipping label, is not like the tape was on the whole box!! It was just on like 2 inch on the top of the shipping label, but it looks like the lady's didn't feel like helping or provide any type of customer service at all!! One lady was working the entire front end of the building. She was knowledgeable and helpful to the extent USPS policy would let her be, and was otherwise a very fine person, which salvages a star. Otherwise, USPS apparently instructs it's personnel to be totally hands-off with the preparation and selection of envelopes. Instead, a customer must wait through the line to reach front end staff, who will then verbally explain what the customer must locate and fill out between regular mail envelopes, priority mail envelopes, express mail, express priority, return receipt, certified mail forms, signature confirmation, and who knows what else, all of which is across the room. Then the customer must try to remember the instructions given for each letter, locate the forms, fill them, and wait through line again. God forbid you forget a detail or do something wrong, because then you're waiting in line again. If USPS has to stand on its own merits and business model it would have failed long ago. read more
