I have to highlight the outstanding customer service Ashley provided at this location. Unfortunately, the AC is currently out, and not only is the AC out the heating unit accidentally got tripped and turned on. Therefore the working conditions are pretty brutal as it was burning hot. I'm saying, I started sweating in less than 5 minutes of standing in line. There was a line of possibly 7 people when I arrived and Ashley was the only employee at the counter at the time. I also came after work and the post office was closing in 10 minutes, so I know it was the end of the day for her shift as well. She greeted each and every customer with a smile and made sure their package was handled with care. If she was unable to come to a solution for a customer she sought out help from another coworker to get the customer an answer, all while in the heat. She was pleasant, assured everyone waiting in line that she would tend to them shortly and kept apologizing about the heat issue. I was the last customer for the day and she even stayed behind after her shift was over to answer all the questions I had about an application I need to send off. Customer service like this seems to be fleeting in our society nowadays so it was so refreshing to experience a person of Ashley's caliber. If anyone in upper management reads this, I truly hope you give Ashley some sort of recognition or even better a raise, she truly is a gem. read more

This post office is terrible. The steal anything that feels like a credit card. I have had debit cards stolen 3 times. They stole my son's passport after saying it was delivered. Yesterday, I was supposed to get a gift card from Kaiser according to USPS Informed Delivery. I received everything else posted in the email but the gift card. Thankfully, the card has to be activated by me. I hate that they are the only option in Smyrna. read more

They could actually deliver my mail. Every time they change my carrier which is every 6 months, I stop getting my mail.

Another LAZY DELIVERY PERSON. As usual if my neighbor's friends or family or daycare parents park on the street any where near my mailbox and the lazy delivery person can't drive their vehicle right up to the box then they just mark it as unable (more likely unwilling) to deliver at my location. It must be difficult to step out of their vehicle to complete their job. Smyrna USPS employs some of the RUDEST and LAZYEST people. And today they lied again saying the could not access the mailbox. Vendors use your service to deliver their merchandise because it is cheap. It is a shame USPS corporate allows this practice. It is a shame people don't have pride or honor anymore. read more

BEWARE! The front desk lady said verbatim that they will never accept walk-ins for passports and to book an appointment. I let her know the passport appointments were booked out for the next 4weeks and she shrugged. Don't waste your time. They are aware what the website says for walk-ins, but are too short staffed. I stopped to drop metered mail at this facility and the clerk was rude. She claimed to be the manager of the location and she would not listen to my request. She was on her phone then she called someone else to get assistance without clarifying with me what my request of service was. She was obnoxious and disrespectful and said to me, "I've been here 10 years, this ain't my first rodeo!" This statement had nothing to do with my request for service. I had a piece of priority mail that needed to be postmarked on a certain day and I came by here on my way to meet a property manager. I was able to drop it off and get on my merry way...I love USPS's website where they have these handy pre-paid priority flat rate envelopes for $7.35 https://store.usps.com/store/product/shipping-supplies/priority-mail-forever-prepaid-flat-rate-envelope---ppep14f-P_PPEP14F they have the pre-paid medium flat rate boxes for $14.35 https://store.usps.com/store/product/shipping-supplies/priority-mail-forever-prepaid-flat-rate-medium-box---2-P_PPFRB2 which are a total bargain because you can fit a 35 lb. piece of machine part in there and as as long as you triple wrap it in bubble wrap...it'll go anywhere in the US 50 states for that price... FYI anything over 13 oz. needs to be given to a postal worker and cannot be dropped in one their drop boxes...unless you bought the postage on stamps.com or USPS and already registered the sender's address with the given tracking number....otherwise it'll get sent back to you. read more

I never thought I'd have to write a complaint against a government run business but this is the worst. I run a business and have had several issues with this location that has impacted my business in a negative ways . Not all but some of the staff there is down right rude and should be fired . Also they don't pick up mail when I submit a request to have my orders pick up for delivery . Imagine the hell I've gone through with my customers . I've filed complaints on the Usps website multiple times . No one ever responds . All I've ever gotten was an email closing my complaint and asking me how the service was around the complaint . By far the worst post office I've ever step foot in. Literally watched the clerk have a conversation for over 5 minutes, there was a long line and the lady behind me asked me to ask the lady to take start doing her job. So I waited a little longer as the line watched this conversation and I finally asked her if she could see me as it was my turn and she fired off and said that we have to wait for her to finish her conversation. i cannot believe the rudeness and discrimination my wife had in this place today. My wife is pregnant and went to get a box from this USPS store , not only were the employees ignoring her during her visit , but when she asked for assistance for the she went to pick up, the person working there laughed at her and said , "yea, I'm not gonna do that, that's your problem not mine" and closed the door in her face. Its amazing to see that corporate does so little enforcement about customer service in this location. I would give this location a negative review if possible. The "employees" are the surliest, rudest group of people I've ever had the misfortune to encounter. They're never open on time, and there's no excuse for there always being a line of people with only one or two people behind the counter. It's a pity that nothing can be done to fix the personnel issues--filling out a survey is a waste of time, and the manager is as much of a problem as the rest of them. I came to the post office for a walk in appointment. The hours are from 9-10 Monday-Friday. I get to the place at 8:40 and was standing on line. There was older lady checking out customers. She made an announcement stating because she doesn't have the man power she is not going to be able to see any walk-ins. What that mean when I arrived it wasn't even 9:00 am yet. The person that came before is going to take up the entire hour a lot. Laughable! If you have customers that walk-in during the time stated then you should see all customers or reflect the stipulations on the website. But okay then so as I was leaving another customer stated "Girl that's the norm every time I come up here it's the same excuse short staff, ratchet place etc. What they don't no is I had an appointment for 11:00am that very same day I was just trying to come in during walk in time to get it out the way early. See you at 11:00 am that's just be knowing that these businesses run low level nowadays. I don't know what is going on with the people who they have delivering the mail. I have been getting I other people's mail and yesterday I had a neighbor bring me my mail (a $2000+ check). With all of the trouble of people getting their mail taken from their mailbox, the post office don't need to help them! Just wish they could get it together. Maybe we should turnover the job of mail delivery to a private company. Had a package mailed here but the sender had the incorrect address on my package. The post office personnel remembered seeing my package yesterday morning. Ms Marie and Ms Janice did an excellent job tracking and finding my package. They called me later to informed me they found my package and sure enough the sending company had the wrong address. The mail carriers associated with this Branch apparently do not understand their job: take outgoing mail and leave incoming mail. That's about it....so easy a caveman could do it, right? Well, this is the *fourth time* in 3 months I have left outgoing mail in my mailbox with the flag UP and my carrier puts the flag down and places my incoming mail ON TOP OF MY OUTGOING MAIL instead of taking the OUTGOING MAIL WITH them. I'm not sure what the disconnect is here, but I've never had this happen before in any of the other cities I've lived in. Maybe ATL just has low standards for hiring? Does this happen to anyone else or am I being singled out? I do want to know so when I make my formal complaint (after typing this all out on their website only to have it refuse to submit and delete my entire description) I have a better idea on if this is a Branch issue or just a personal one. read more

BY FAR the WORST post office I've ever had to use. Unfortunately all my packages are delivered here when the sender requires a signature. I received a note in my mailbox telling me I had a package to pick up. I went to the post office the next day and the package was missing. The clerk said that they must be trying to redeliver it (don't know why when the note specifically said to come pick it up after 9am the next day). So I signed the note so that the mailman would leave it in my box the next day (it's a very small package and I can rarely leave work during the day to go to the post office.) The next day not only is there no package but there isn't another note at my door either. Next day and still no package or note. I've called six times today and the phone has been busy every time. I have a feeling I'm not going to get my package and because I signed the slip, I'm never going to get it... I'll update this review if I ever get it. read more

You would think that since tampering with other people's mail is a federal crime, the post office would be more careful!! Nope!! The person who delivers our mail is the absolute worst. I live in a complex so our mailboxes are all in one spot. I have received other people's mail/packages so many times. I've had missing packages that says it was delivered to my mailbox and some companies will resend the products, others don't (Independent sellers such as Etsy) so I'm basically SOL. And of course they were no help in locating the mail since it was scanned as "delivered" so all they would tell me is that "it's been delivered" and that that they'll ask the mail person if they remember---of course they don't stupid. Also, if I get an unexpected package ("surprise" gifts from friends/family) it could sit in my leasing office for days since they find it so hard to put a damn notice in my mailbox. So then when I don't mention the gift, the friends asks about it- ruining any surprises- and I finally call the office to check (since my office doesn't let us know either- but that's another yelp review) Get it together!!
