Wanted to explore the tunnels. The tunnels have got to have better food. This was a miss, I can't even really explain why? It was giving cafeteria. Even the water. Two word review: no thanks.

I ate here with a few of my coworkers. They said the food was good and wanted to take me there. When looking at the menu, there are a lot of options. It's a little pricey but not too bad. I picked the Mac and cheese with chicken and shrimp and I liked it! It came right out of the oven and was really hot. Very cheese, but almost too cheesy. I did like having the vegetables in it and the seasoning on the shrimp was delicious. The restaurant was really busy because we went at lunch time. This is a very busy location, if you don't make reservations, you may not be able to get a seat. There wasn't much staff interaction or greeting from those who served us. Maybe because of the lunch rush. It was also very loud so it was hard to talk with my coworkers at the table.

Located in the tunnels under 1111 Louisiana this place specializes in salads, a few comfort foods that do not scream foul at it's sister location in the Galleria. You will not find many of the menu items here that you have had in the Galleria because here is more geared to the fast paced setting of the downtown business clientele. The hours here are 11 a.m. till 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. You will get good service here from the opening time to about noon or when everybody decides to all come in at the same time so after 12:30 pm your on your own, don't say I didn't warn you. There is an auxillery stand in front of this establishment where you can get a quick sandwich, cookie, drink or soup but do not expect to sit inside the restaurant and get the soup that is offered at the outside stand unless it is the same as the inside. Don't ask me why I just know. All in all this is your cut above place to go if you are tired of the fast food subways, McDonald's or whatever but do not expect to get any alcohol here. Average price per person I would say would be about $15 with a drink hovering with the tax and tip. Your choice of beverages are Coke, Diet Coke, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, Assorted Hot Tea, regular tea, organic bottled tea and coffee. The soup of the day almost every Monday is Chicken Tortilla, the other days it alternates depending on what the cooks decide to make.

(This review is for the Post Oak Express) Tasty, cheap and fast. Located just outside the downtown Post Oak Grill restaurant with a limited menu. Although the website says otherwise, there are at least a couple of Post Oak Grill Express locations downtown. I have a coworker who swears by the POG-Ex fish tacos. I gave them a try and was impressed. Less than $9 and includes a drink and a cookie. The tacos were very good. A couple of guys with me had chicken sandwiches and didn't think too much of them, especially when they paid more than $10 each. POG-Ex had turkey chili and chicken tortilla soup that looked good. I will have to try that sometime in the future.

Ahi tuna lunch - very fresh greens.

3.5 stars up. Rounding up to 4 stars. This was a delivered meal for an all day meeting. We had a full page to choose from sandwiches or lunch salads. I chose the Ahi tuna lunch salad. The delivery girl was super friendly and happy. Upon opening my salad I also found some other goodies. Everything was packed well. No lopsided meal! The salad dressing which if I recall correctly was like a light balsamic mix. The greens and accent veggies were uber fresh and consisted of a real good variety. Not your normal wild herbs or romaine. The only negative was that my ahi tuna was sliced quite thick and cooked medium which it could have cooked more in the container. The ahi tuna had real good flavor despite having the above mentioned issues. I would assume also the restaurant was playing it safe on a delivery. Would I order it again? Heck yeah! I would specify thin cut and rare though. I also received homemade crusty looking bread and butter which I didn't eat. There were a cluster of red grapes and a decent peanut butter cookie also. I was actually impressed overall. So many times when meals are delivered or picked up to go I have found disappointing smaller versions. I never ate in their restaurant yet but got full and really enjoyed how all the flavors came together. I would recommend them for delivery of business lunches. Yelp review #359

Chicken fried chicken w/peppercorn gravy, mashed potatoes and fresh veggies
    Kris P.

Working downtown and eating the same things in walking distance can get a little boring, I took a chance and explored the tunnels a little more today and stumbled across this place. Great for business lunches, and also a step up from your typical eatery in the tunnels. White table linens and complimentary passion tea on the table not so bad I must say! I had the chicken fried chicken w/ peppercorn gravy and fresh veggies which consisted of green beans and carrots. Really good, the chicken was thin and was not all covered in gravy which I like. It was topped in mushrooms which I'm not a fan of, but it actually wasn't so bad. The chicken was well flavored, could've used a bit more gravy but overall it was pretty good. I would give this place another shot!

I had heard great things about the cafe at this new location, and had even tried their former location on Hillcroft a couple years ago as part of TooGoodToGo. While the concept is casual, the restaurant itself is very polished and feels like an upscale cafe. There is plenty of seating indoors as well as a huge patio outdoors. We opted to sit on the patio on a (rare) nice Houston day. The tables were spacious and the patio seating was very comfortable. We ordered the Kofta Kabob and Chicken Kabob specialty platters. These platters come with your choice of two sides - we went for the Fried Cauliflower, Tabouli Salad, Hummus, and Muhammara. The meats were so good and hit the spot. The Kofta Kabob had a complexity of flavor to it; so many spices that blended together really well. I will say that the post-meal burps of these spices were...smellier than usual. The Chicken Kabob was also flavorful and had a nice smokiness to it from the grill. I liked the slight crunch provided by the char along the edges. If I knew how to make chicken like this, it would be my daily meal prep! The Fried Cauliflower had a nice sear to it with lots of flavor. The Tabouli Salad and Hummus were comparable to those I've had at other Mediterranean places. The Muhammara was my favorite of the sides! It is a dip like hummus but also incorporates tomatoes, red bell peppers, and onions, among other spices; there was so much flavor to it and I could snack on this all day. The included pita bread was large, fluffy, and piping hot - perfect for dipping between the two side dips we got. Service was quick and friendly. The employee taking our order behind the counter was friendly and gave us the recommendation for the Muhammara - great rec. When our food was brought out and we had questions on some of the ingredients, the staff was very knowledgeable and knew right away what everything was.

We went on Saturday, got two Combo Dinners as you choose two mains and two sides. Upon delivery to our table (you order at counter) I was pleased to see the generous portion sizes then as we dug in, the flavors were yum! Even though there with many people there, there was plenty of seating and a nice sized patio we should have sat and enjoyed the cool breeze as it's on the East side of the restaurant. I don't think beer/wine or available so it's probably BYOB, didn't ask. The sweets looked really good. Abddallah's will certainly be one of our regular dining spots from now on. We should have tried it sooner!

Switching her words back and forth and not believing what we had said. I asked how did we grab our stuff if I still have the device to notify when our food is ready. - Third she completely stopped talking to us and went to go help at other customers. I told her we want our money back and she said, "well I'm not going to refund for the drinks you had". Ma'am, that's not how you run a business. Just admit you messed up and take ownership of your mistakes to help a customer out. - Fourth she mentioned that other tickets have been lost today and other foods have been stolen before. This just shows how disorganized this placed is. We were able to ask for our money back but it was a battle about it. Ike's specializes in sandwiches with their Dutch Crunch bread and Dirty Sauce, both unique in its own way. Whether you're a meat lover, vegetarian, vegan, or on a gluten-free diet, their menu has it all. I personally am not a super fan of the Dutch Crunch bread since I find it a bit too harsh on the palate and somewhat dry, but love the Dirty Sauce (make it extra or on the side). I enjoy subbing the Dutch Crunch with either French or Sourdough. With over 300 unique sandwiches on the menu, there's a sandwich for everyone.
