    Oat milk cappuccino
    Brittany B.

I found myself back in my old stomping grounds with every intention to go to Nando's. That is until I spotted this Local Foods location. Although I'm a bit salty that this location replaced my former local Panera, when there is quite literally another Local Foods location 10ish minutes down the road (in River Oaks), I felt oddly drawn to the spot. So after a moderate wait, I found myself sitting pretty with a coffee, app and brunch item at Local Foods, not Nandos...for a grand total of $37.87. Mind you, that's before purchasing $65 in wine from their in restaurant wine shop. Yikes! Maybe it's a sunk cost fallacy, but I'd 100% do it again. Who knew shrimp chips paired with summer guac like chocolate and peanut butter? Who knew I'd find myself gobbling it down as quickly as my beloved queso. Who knew a pretzel bun worked on a salmon bagel, or as they call it, a salmon sandwich. Although the oat milk cappuccino was, well, just that, everything else, from the salmon sandwich, to the summer fresh watermelon side, to the check-in from the team was fantastic. I can see why they're busy. I left feeling full without feeling heavy, and nourished without overindulgent. The shrimp chip satisfied my crispy fried craving without all of the grease, and I managed to get all of my greens, protein, fruit, and healthy fats in one balanced meal. The experience is worth the (reasonable) wait and the price if you're okay with spoiling yourself every now and again. Located in the midst of the trifecta of healthy food concepts including True Foods and Chop and Shop, I'll be frequenting Local Foods a lot more.

I cannot express how much I absolutely love Local Foods! Their crunchy chicken sandwich is hands down my favorite. That pretzel bun just hits different. I love it so much that I try to stop by every single time I visit family in Houston. Their potato salad and chicken posole soup are also delicious, and everything always tastes so fresh and relatively healthy. Although not on the menu, my dad ordered the chicken caesar salad, which he enjoyed. This was my first time visiting the Post Oak location. There's plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the environment is very bright and welcoming. When I came on a Friday around 7 PM, it wasn't busy. Service was quick and friendly. I just wish that they stayed open later. All of the Houston locations close at 8 PM, and there have been nights where I'd crave it but couldn't go because of the hours. (Maybe that's just a me problem, though.) There's plenty of lot parking available. Overall, I love coming to Local Foods. This is a spot I always bring out of guests to, and it never disappoints.

I've heard of Local Foods so when I had the opportunity to try it, I jumped at it. Very clean and nice decor. They have a lot of different wines and drinks to choose from. I was kind of sad that I could only order from the brunch menu once I saw that there was a different one for the rest of the week, but my food was really good! I had the Agadashi breakfast bowl. It had egg with spinach, giant asparagus chunks, potatoes, tofu, mushrooms, and a sesame sauce. It's a huge bowl so I couldn't finish it all, but it was really good! A little heavy with the sauce, but I know that that's my personal preference and next time I would probably say less sauce. Overall, really enjoyed the meal and dining experience. Food was really fresh and there's a few other things on the menu that I would like to try.

I came on a Saturday afternoon with my mom for brunch. It was my first time so I was unfamiliar with the ordering process. You have to order at the counter and then you get a number to take to your table. You can get bottled beverages including alcohol from a fridge as well or get our own tap water. We opted to sit outside which has a very nice ambiance. The food was good as well. I think a bit pricey for the way it's set up but the idea is a fresh experience so from that stand point it's worth it. Large parking lot.

Always love coming to Local Foods. The quality of service and food is outstanding every time. The portions are huge and I typically get two meals out of whatever I order. I usually go for one of the salads or sandwiches but decided to try the shrimp tacos this time and as predicted, they did not disappoint. I enjoy visiting different Local Foods as each location has its own unique vibe, as far as interior design. Highly recommend.

Tasty fast casual brunch spot. What you expect, pay and receive is respectable and there is plentiful seating for a good experience. We tried the seared sea bass, steak and eggs, vegan queso, and then agedashi breakfast bowl. The food was well cooked and balanced. Not too salty or greasy. My steak was a lil chewier than I would like but for the spot we were at, my expectations aren't exorbitantly high. Food came out quickly even though it was peak lunch rush. The iced coffee was a good sweetness level and cinnamon-y. Not acidic either. The butterscotch blondie was soft and was a good rec from the worker for a soft moist dessert.

I was there with some friends to have a late lunch. I ordered an avocado toast and a strawberry lemonade. I was the first one to order. So I headed to a corner table but it hadn't been cleaned. We sat somewhere else. The lemonade is good but too sweet. The avocado toast has a great presentation. But I think Local Foods is trying too hard to make it fancy. I had it without the egg which would be an extra $1.50. The toast came with a fruity slightly spicy topping. It wasn't to my liking. The avocado was fresh and beautifully cut though. Though a staff person suggested it as an appetizer, it's quite filling, and I'm glad it's the only food I ordered. I later ordered a cappuccino. The serving is somewhat small. I will try other menu items next time.

Ugh! This new location is beautiful -Especially when the sun is out! Seriously! Check out the details! Came in after the lunch rush and was instantly greeted! Ordered a crunchy chicken (not pictured) with their custom aide drink. The new aesthetic is so comforting. The food is always a good too. Great place to stop in, enjoy a good lunch, and take a breather!

I was excited to see Local Foods join the Post Oak enclave as I frequented the one on Kirby quite often. I went the first week they opened and they were still going through the motions. The experience was great, nonetheless, and the staff were very welcoming. I went back a week ago and was met with the same warm welcome from the young lady behind the register. Everyone who has ever grabbed a meal with me knows I can never just order off the menu. I always have to modify the meal in some way and that requires patience from whoever is assisting me. Luckily for me, this young lady stayed in it with me as I remixed the bowl that I wanted. I got the salmon poke bowl but with cooked salmon and a host of other things. I waited for about 5 minutes and my order was ready. I didn't dine in but there was plenty of airy space, both inside and outside on the patio. The restaurant was also very clean, including the kitchen, from what I could see. I'll definitely be back!

Beautiful beautiful beautiful!!!! This place looks my dream home with the gorgeous 70s inspired decor. It's truly a clip out of a old home magazine. I decided to stop by here on a random Saturday afternoon and it was not packed and the staff were very friendly. Being a first time guest, I like to ask questions about the menu and my waiter suggested the crusted chicken sandwich. So glad I took his advice because that chicken sandwich was awesome. I loved the crust on it, the flavor was fantastic. This is definitely a place you should stop by for a quick lunch!

The food & drinks quickly came out, which is always greatly appreciated when dining with kids. The chicken was a generous portion and juicy. The butter had a unique flavor and paired well with the chicken. The pancake and waffle were also big portions. The latte was sweet and well balanced. The manager came around checking on us and was very attentive when I needed to request an extra cup of hot water for our tea. The floral wall decor and light fixture gives such a cozy vibe. Portions are large/filling and we felt the food was delicious and a good value for money. When we arrived the line was long and menus were not available so we had to search for the menu on the website to avoid deciding at the counter and holding up the people behind us. After ordering, tables were cleaned consistently and service was friendly. Only feedback about seating was outside parties would take chairs from other tables and leave them with no seating and not all tables we're shaded. The drinks being available at the bar when it is busy and then food being delivered to the table was a bit clunky. I picked up water and utensils for our party before sitting and would have preferred to have to pick everything up at the counter or have everything brought to the table to avoid multiple trips around when the restaurant is busy.

However, I haven't found myself wanting to come back even though I drive past this area pretty frequently. If I did come back, I'd probably just order the same flavor again because it was that good. The Zeppelin is very filling though and kept me good for 2 meals, I just think nothing else on the menu appealed to me (other than the Spicy Tejano) enough to steer away from my go-to sandwich/bowl places if the craving for that type of food ever came. The staff were super friendly though and parking wasn't terrible. Fun fact of the day: a panuozzo is a sandwich made of pizza dough, and that's how they do it here too! The result is a crispy shelled bread with a soft and chewy interior-- a dream to layer on topping and devour :D ** Apple walnut burrata kale salad (5/5)-- despite lacking the sautéed cinnamon apples advertised in the description (the fresh ones were still yummy!), this salad was still madly delicious! Baby kale massaged in balsamic vinaigrette was topped with creamy burrata, making each bite a balance of acidic, sweet, and creamy. Definitely a good pick for burrata fans-- mmm, so good! We used the pieces of bread to sop up the sauces of our other dishes :) ** Vodka pasta (4/5)-- a simple but well executed dish with mezze maniche or a wider, shorter version of rigatoni. The sauce was creamy and flavorful and studded with pieces of flavorful, salty pancetta. It was served hot :) ** Maialino panuozzo (4.5/5)-- the bread was so delicious, as it was chewy and airy and held up well against the toppings. The porchetta was meaty, and I couldn't really discern the crispy eggplant or taste the spicy mayo, but I loved it; the overall flavor was mild and not too salty. MT thought it was too mild and said next time we would order something heavier sounding like the truffle sandwich. But he still enjoyed it, and I thought it was the best sandwich I've had in recent memory! Ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. :) ** Arancini (4/5)-- this fried risotto ball was dressed up and heated before served to us at the table. It's rich, hot, and creamy! Not much ragu or meat in the middle (more so cheesy rice), but it came topped with meat sauce. I'm not an expert, but these were really big and tasty to share. The man at the counter was very friendly and thanked us for coming. It was heart-warming to see him excitedly speaking Italian to an elderly couple walking in too. Definitely bring a jacket for cold windy days as there's a draft inside and it gets chilly whenever the doors open. Cotto E Crudo is going to be a hit in warmer months-- excited to return and try more of the menu!
