Evelyn was a breath of fresh air. So helpful, smiling the whole time she was taking our orders. She went out of her way to explain the menu and how things worked. I felt like the red carpet was laid out for us. She also mentioned she was from another location but happened to be working here that day. I ordered the lemon-caper salmon plate. I added avocado and because they didn't have any shallots, I topped the plate with some almonds. The almonds were good and so was my plate! They focus on local ingredients and make many of their items from scratch. I especially like the quinoa and brown rice combo. And the yogurt sauce brought everything together.

After hearing great things about this location , I decided to pop in, and I'm glad I did. The new location feels like just that, shiny nearly untouched decor, clean floors and countertops, and new...well everything. I cannot speak to the dine in experience as I took my meal to go, but I can say, my meal was ready on time, packaged perfectly (bonus points for wrapping the soup and including the croutons in a separate sealed container.), and temperature was def considered when packaging! The team was super friendly, and everything tasted great. I highly recommend the lemon-caper salmon. It comes with super fresh green beans, and even without the lemon-caper yogurt sauce is well seasoned. The sauce is the cherry on top of an already solid, texturally explorative dish! If you're into tomato soup, theirs is pretty solid. It's not puréed to death and hits that sweet spot between acidic and cozy. Additionally, if you prefer a green smoothie to go, they'll keep it in the fridge for you. While mine could have used some additional time in the blender, it was otherwise really solid. All and all I was out about $30 for this meal, which I'd say fall on the expensive side of upper tier fast casual, but my meal was good, and I'd def consider returning to treat myself every now and then in the future.

So excited to see a new location pop up! Leaf & Grain has such a wonderful variety of fresh, healthy meals. Everything I have had here has been awesome; happy to have another spot to visit! Today I tried the Fairway sandwich and I loved it! They have a really good sourdough bread that they use, which I believe is supplied by a local bread company. I also had the tortilla soup, which was delicious and loaded with fresh avocado - my favorite! And don't sleep on the smoothies - the first time I tried the Health Kick I was a little skeptical, but now I have to get it every time I go. Yum!

New healthy option on the San Felipe streets! Got the Sesame Chicken Crunch and it was quite healthy. Had everything from a protein, carb, veggies and a crunchy topping. Really enjoyed the chili marinated cucumbers, had a great added tang to the bowl. Also ordered the tomato basil soup and it was quite nice and hearty. Also the added croutons was a good touch and gave it some more texture to the soup itself. Staff at the moment looked really new and in training, but provided good service. Parking - within the plaza next to MOD pizza =

The food at Leaf & Grain was absolutely fire--my Lemon-Caper Salmon with broccolini was flavorful, fresh, and came in generous portions. The service was quick, helpful, and friendly without missing a beat. The ambiance felt clean, modern, and perfect for a fresh, flame-worthy lunch. Plus, I got cashback through my app--talk about turning up the heat on smart spending! IG @ CashBackQuest X @ CashBackQuest

Leaf and Grain has become one of my favorite spots - especially the new spot on San Felipe. This Mediterranean Protein Lunch was wonderfully simple and delicious - Chicken Thigh, Hummus, Rice and Chickepea Salad.

This locally owned establishment serves up some amazing salads and grain bowls! I came here to pick up lunch during my work day, and my meal offered the perfect mid-day pick-me-up! I got the MFH Veggie Boost 2.0 and loved it--it was flavorful, filling, and not too expensive. I absolutely recommend coming here.

This place is an amazing option for healthy food. Even if you're not into salads, you will find these delicious. There are a lot of options to choose from: salads, sandwiches, soups, plates, and smoothies. On this occasion I tried peach panzanella, sesame chicken crunch, texas style chicken sandwhich & chicken pesto sandwhich. I can tell you that I would order these all over again! My favorite was definitely the Texas style chicken salad sandwich. On top of the delicious food, I love that the menu informs of calories & protein content of each item. The space is huge & if you've tried other leaf & green locations, you can expect the same great customer service and fresh health options!

"Healthy food" with a side of carcinogens. Burned food creates toxic compounds like acrylamide, HCAs, and PAHs.

This place consistently burns their food! Disappointing for a restaurant claiming to be healthy. Charring creates harmful compounds like acrylamide, HCAs, and PAHs, which are linked to serious health risks--and it tastes bad. On my last visit, I specifically asked for non-burned chicken and veggies, and they said, "No, they are all like that."

    The Alamo

Our family just visited the new Tanglewood location and the salads, the kids grilled cheese and the smoothie did not disappoint. My son had the Caesar, he had the best croutons and Parmesan. I recommend the medium dressing. The Alamo was just the right amount of kick. If you like spicy, this is my personal favorite. My wife went with the Peach Panzanilla. This is really the summer salad you only dream of making from home. Thanks Deets for bringing your family cooking to the menu.

I had the Texas Chicken Salad. It has candied jalapeño's and it gave it a great kick. Fresh bread, plenty of chicken.

A big part of the decades long success at Local Foods has been their commitment to consistency…read more Their casual setting with excellent service is one thing, but quality executed food that is simple and seasonal will always go a long way. Before their recent expansions to Austin, it all began here in Rice Village exactly 15 years ago. The vibes are contemporary and casual, with the kind of space that fits for just about any scenario. Whether it's a solo meal, a lunch date, or a group led affair, the experience is almost always an excellent one. Start by ordering at the counter and find a seat where the food will brought directly to the table. So much of their variety caters to all sorts of dietary restrictions from vegan to gluten free to nut free. Their spicy crispy brussels sprouts ($10) are a nice starter, as is the squash "onion" rings ($12). The local power bowl ($16) is a classic and I've always enjoyed the brown rice and quinoa combo. Their chicken "posolé" is solid, and I love the large hominy bits along with the clear but green tint of a broth. The chicken shawarma bowl ($20) is an interesting mix that includes pickled beets and strawberries, along with their market cheddar burger ($17) and fabulous twice cooked fries. The carrot cupcake is strangely addicting, and I think their gluten free brownie is a bit of a sleeper. Some of their items didn't jive with me previously, such as an underwhelming cashew queso ($9), a semi-laughable Vietnamese steak bowl ($22), and their semi-gringo version of a banh mi ($15). It's not that these items are bad per se, but they definitely don't live up to the same standard that I feel their other dishes do best. Where they hit the biggest home run is their customer service. Everyone working behind the counter does their best to deliver and they almost always do by staying on top of refills, cleanups, and customer greets. I've always enjoyed my experiences here and look forward to every visit.

Fabulous!! I was told by my colleague friends that this place was awesome and perfect for someone…read morelike me who is now both dairy free and (mostly) gluten free. After meetings we met and had a long lunch sitting outside on one of the two lovely patios. It was comfortable on a beautiful day. The person who took the order was very friendly and so was the manager who came around to check on our meal. One friend had the Thai steak salad and I had the veggie burger made with quinoa, beets and other vegetables. Wow...is what I will say!!! It was so flavorful and the focaccia bun (not gluten free) was incredible! Plus the double cooked fries were delicious! Oh, the side potato salad and kale salad were also delicious! I look forward to being back there next time I'm in Houston!!
