It was pretty loud indoors due to it being packed, so we kind of wished we could have grabbed a table outside; their patio area was adorable! Our server Karey was a superstar: friendly, attentive, very knowledgeable regarding the menu options. My mom said her eggs Benedict was the best she's had in quite some time. My sausage scrambler was loaded with sausage, mushrooms, peppers, cheese and green onions and it was very filling. My only gripe was when I looked at the receipt after we left and saw it cost $7.90 for two cups of coffee. And the coffee wasn't even in the realm of good, so they either need to up their coffee game or lower the price.

It was sweet enough on its own that it honestly didn't even need maple syrup- it felt like fall! I loved the crunch from the corn flakes it added such a great texture and made the dish stand out. I'm glad they didn't used sweetened corn flakes I think it would have been too sweet. The veggie omelette was also really good and gave the meal a nice balance between sweet and savory. Everything tasted fresh and filling without feeling too heavy. Loved how crispy the hash browns were fried to perfection! Atmosphere & Service: Loved the coffee, and the service kept moving even though the restaurant was really busy. Our food came out at a good pace, and the staff handled the crowd well. The coffee refill was a must after driving from Nashville overnight. Overall: Such a cute spot with that classic diner charm. Between the apple French toast, veggie omelette, good coffee, and friendly service, this was a great breakfast. Definitely a place I'd come back to! Id love to try other menu items for sure!

The grilled bread and vegetables went really well with the cheese dip. I had the Mojo Marinated Flat Iron Steak for my entree. The steak was cooked to perfection. The fried sweet plantains were delicious. For dessert, we shared the molten cinnamon strawberry chocolate cake. The service was great and our server was very friendly.

Pier 500 has grown, but it hasn't forgotten its roots. Its menu is expanding--and for the better. It's all thanks to the excellent work of its general manager, Rachel F. In just a few years, the restaurant has changed for the better while still staying true to its roots. I could list my favorite dishes, but why not let you, my reader, go and try them for yourself? You'll be surprised by how unique they are, by their quality, and you'll also see the professionalism of the waitstaff, like Bobby. It was like a cafeteria meal, including the soggy fries. My husband, who never complains, was like this is awful. The shake had the consistency of Metamucil. The cooks were watching/listening to something at a disrupting volume that completely disrupted our conversation.. One went on their phone (on speaker) in the booth behind where we were seated and completely disrupted everything. People don't typically listen to Elvis and Pitbull at the same time. After 30 minutes of rude service, a guy (who I heard dry heaving) ran to the bathroom and was vomiting. The other cook yelled for Phoebe (PHOEBE, PHOEBE, come!) who rolled her eyes and stood at the front without moving an inch. This was after terrible food, rude service (ask her about the ketchup) and pity for the elderly couples at a "50s diner" trying to enjoy a nostalgic date. This really sucks, but we're gonna have to find a different spot for our weekly breakfast/lunch dates.
