Arranged for Poseidon to do a diagnostic of pool heater. Pro: they came out the next day. Tech spent under 10 minutes on diagnostic. The tech couldnt explain the issue and said the owner would explain it. The owner said the heater is not igniting [incorrect] and they will need to do a process of elimination to figure out why. [not a very helpful diagnostic]. The follow-up was to spend $700 on multiple parts since there was not a solid diagnosis. Another service came out, immediately diagnosed the core issue, replaced the corroded part and heater has been working properly. I feel like it was a waste of $150 for the diagnostic. read more

Very deceiving with pricing, installing different equipment with little price adjustment. The reason was even more ridiculous, it was a rush job and he didn't know my pool has two lights which he totally forgot about when techs came to install new chlorinator, they weren't told about lights and the prices went up for that day. Given the shape of the pool, a single light would not be sufficient to illuminate and install took place 26 days after agreeing to proceed. He said he would reach out asap after getting parts for install. 20 days later he sends a follow up text asking if I want to proceed with install. Two Pentair microbrites costed me $2250. After searching multiple outlets, the most expensive microbrite was $569 each. The install was more than the light. Never received a manual for the Pentair chlorinator he said he didn't see one. I need to go online to see how it works, what the lights mean, how to remove/service salt cell etc. Only positive was techs were very efficient with the install of chlorinator and two days later the lights. Microbrites are not as impressive as agreed on intellibrites which would have been worth it for $600 more for two. A valuable lesson learned for myself, do your research. A one star rating is only for the techs not the company or Brad whom should have no stars. read more

We needed a new pool pump. After another company screwed around, Poseidon stepped up and installed a new pump the next day, AND saved us about $400! They also recommend a better pump (for less money) than the one we had originally selected. To top it off, they were able to get us a rebate from NV Energy for switching to a variable speed pump. read more

This business's pool cleaner broke the clamp on my pool filter during the process of cleaning the filter and after a while the filter started leaking water and I had to replace the broken part from Leslie's for $349.99 plus labor. Do not trust Brad (the owner) at all. Instead of taking responsibility Brad charged me an insane high amount of additional fees to clean my filter. Stay away from Poseidon Pool Service. Poseidon Pool Service - Pool Cleaners Near Me

When we moved into our house, we decided to stick with Poseidon because the previous owner was a real estate professional and said Poseidon had done a good job taking care of the pool. As first-time pool owners, Brad was fantastic about coming out and showing us how to do things like change the valves and turn on the heater for running the hot tub. As summer heated up last summer, we started having a significant amount of algae that would accumulate each day on the floor and walls of both the pool and the hot tub. Brad's advice was to repeatedly have the filters cleaned. The algae problem persisted. We reported the problem to Brad numerous times and the pool guy would have also seen what was happening. It would take about 30 minutes each day to scrub the walls and floor of the hot tub and pool just to keep it from getting out of control. Each day during the summer algae would accumulate on every surface where water touched. At several points during our 18 months with Poseidon, Brad mentioned coming out to do a cyanuric acid test to check to see if we had "bad water." That never happened. Towards the end of last summer Brad told us our pool guy, Derrick, was color blind. We thought that's maybe why our pool service was so bad. But as this summer started to heat up this year and with a new pool guy, we started to once again have algae problems. My in-laws who are in their 80s have a pool service here in Las Vegas and never had an algae problem where every day they'd have to go scrub every nook and cranny, wall and floor of their pool so we started to think maybe Poseidon wasn't doing the job a typical pool service does. There had been many times where they'd report they had cleaned baskets but we'd go out right after they left and there would be huge amounts of debris in, say, the pump basket. Our last day with Poseidon, my husband and I intentionally didn't brush the algae and the pool guy reported he had brushed the steps and walls but hadn't brushed anything. I'll post pictures for you to see what the pool walls and hot tub looked like after he left. At any rate, I told my husband that if we wanted a green, dirty pool, I could do that for us for free. So we terminated services. Ending services was the best thing we could have done. I went to Leslie's Pool and picked up a test kit, purchased chemicals from Lowes, and started learning how to take care of our pool from YouTube videos. When I tested the cyanuric acid levels, which probably takes a total of two minutes to do, the cyanuric acid levels were so high that it became quite apparent to us that no one at Poseidon had ever done that test on our pool. It's supposed to be closer to 30 ppm to 50 ppm and ours was so off the chart that I'm guessing it was ten times that amount. What that means is the free chlorine that kills not only algae and germs was completely getting bound up and neutralized by cyanuric acid. This means we had been swimming around in filthy water with neutralized chlorine all last summer and the beginning of this summer. To make matters worse, the pool guys had been putting two to three pucks into the pool every week. HALF of those pucks is cyanuric acid. So every week they were making the problem worse We could have been pouring buckets of shock in and never have been sanitizing the water like it needs to be cleaned. High cyanuric acid also messes up other chemical tests. Had Poseidon tested at any point beyond pH and free chlorine, the problem would have been obvious. It was NOT a dirty filter problem. We drained our pool with a sump pump, fixed a couple of spots where rebar was too close to the surface, acid washed the hot tub, refilled the pool and hot tub, and balanced all the chemicals and now we have a sparkling pool that has NO ALGAE. In fact, there had been algae in all of our vacuum tubes and skimmer that is completely gone now that we have our pool balanced and the chemicals are actually working to kill it. Places where there were tannin stains from leaves and bird poo are also gone because having the pool balanced is allowing the chlorine to do its job.The best thing we ever did was let Brad and his team go. He's a nice guy, but I question whether or not his company can do even the most basic of chemical testing and maintenance. He's a super nice guy, but he let us go a whole summer and a month into this one scrubbing a pool thirty minutes a day that a two-minute test and putting in fresh water could have made into a much lower maintenance and much cleaner swim experience. My advice if you're going to hire Poseidon is to make sure they do occasional cyanuric acid, total alkalinity, and hard water tests and report those numbers to you in addition to free chlorine and pH. They should be letting you know what the normal range is and what corrective action needs to be taking place. The other tests beyond the pH and free chlorine levels do matter and should be done routinely by your pool company. read more

I had my tile bead blasted at the waterline and the mortar above cleaned of excess scale that the previous owner had let build up. They also replaced some parts on my pump and plumbing. The last fix was acid washing my pool walls. His team was very friendly and efficient. All work was performed in a professional manner. The prices were 30% better than the competition and Brad's people skills far exceeded the other guy's. We arranged our schedules today for tile cleaning and nobody showed up or called. Text messages were delivered and then later text messages couldn't be delivered (iphone turned off or battery died?) Brad had informed us that he was going out of town and left Josh to do the service. The only number we had for a point of contact is Brads. If the owner is not available, someone needs to be left in charge that will communicate. My husband marked himself as unavailable for a "call-out" (overtime), also rescheduled a doctors appt. that was scheduled for later today. We text messages several times and called and left voicemail messages. 13 hours later, still NO REPLY. Recent messages were delivered. We contacted another company to do our service, clearly this company does not want our business. We have a pool party and other things planned, it would've been nice to get this done on schedule...considering we blocked out 2 days for this and it's not happening until the new company comes. When completed: They send me pictures and readings of the pool so I can see that they have completed it. This company came in when I first purchased the home and the pool was not being maintained and was dark green and full of Algae. They cleaned it up and it looks brand new. They are honest and do a fantastic job. Price: They are not the cheapest pool company but not the most expensive company. Busy company: however, if you text them they get back to you within a few hours. Remember : they are out cleaning pools so , I understand if they don't just pick up the phone as I would want them to do that when they are cleaning my pool. Our previous pool company had left our pool in a total mess, leaving it green for over a month while doing nothing to diagnose the cause or attempting to fix the issue. We lost the use of the pool over a holiday weekend as a result. Finding someone else to help and to provide regular service proved challenging, due in part to our location and company willingness to take on another property mid-season. I contacted Brad at Poseidon and he replied right away and came out to evaluate the pool the same day. He confirmed what I suspected, that the pool needed to be drained and needed a chemical wash before refilling. I agreed and he had John Jay come to the house the next day to begin draining the pool. It took several days to empty but as soon as it was done, he returned and did an outstanding job cleaning the pool and then beginning the refill process. My pool has never looked this good since I purchased the property 4 years ago and proved to me I didn't have a pool problem; I had a pool service problem. I called Poseidon because I needed my filters cleaned and I was also in the market to find a monthly pool cleaning service. They came out and did an alright job on cleaning my filters. I had them do a pool cleaning as well and the cleaners left marks on my deck that I had to pressure wash and they didn't even brush my pool. So I basically paid for a cleaning service where I had about another hours worth of work of cleaning after because of their sloppy service. Extremely overpriced for someone to not even vacuum your pool correctly and leave my deck to be pressure washed after. read more

my name is cathy and me and my family reside in the nw area of las vegas. i have been recieving bi weekly pool service by poseidon pool service. the owner is named brad. i fell two months behind which is 200.00 but i stayed in contact with owner brad. this past wed july 8th i recieved a text from brad that my pool basket was broke and i told him that i would have his payment by friday and that he could fix the basket. upon inspection of the basket i noticed that the floor cleaning part was removed and some champagne buckets was put over it to stop the water from gushing out. i then brought this to brad. he told me to take pictures and sent it over. he sent me over an estimate for over 400.00 including parts and labor. i became suspicious due to backyard not being flooded so i asked my neighbor ms, anna to send me over footage from a camera that faces my yard from her home. to my suprise it was my poolman that removed the part. this was done intentionally because i owed him the 200.00. im dissappointed and i dont put anything pass brad and poseidon pools. i am reporting this to the police and submitting the footage. i am putting this review on all review sites and i am putting in a formal complaint with the bbb and business licensing. do not use posiedon pools las vegas owner brad is using criminal business practices to get clients that are backed in payment to pay! read more

Contacted Brad and explained what we needed. I provided a measurement and he gave us a ballpark figure to work with. Brad asked about our pool in order to give him a mental picture of the project. He checked his appointments, called us back and said 'How about tomorrow'? The next day Brad calls and confirms the time etc....a short time later he and John arrived checked out the job, firmed up the price and went to work. The tile had a substantial mineral buildup as our water is very hard. It took them several hours to clean the pool/spa tile...meantime the pool was being drained. The tile looks like the day it was installed 5 years ago. These two guys were not only professional all the way but very nice and pleasant to deal with. They left the sump pump overnight to complete the pool drain. John came by the next day to retrieve his equipment. We filled the pool and couldn't be happier. read more
