JJ was here each day they worked on our concrete, and he texted me updates along the way which was so nice! They carefully lifted our AC unit to replace the concrete under it to match the rest of our patio; they fixed huge drainage problems and put in/replaced drains along our whole side yard (issues caused by our pool company); they bought materials and worked to run our pool overflow line where it needed to go... Overall very happy with Jeff's execution. First of all - his bid for the job was very reasonable and he provided a quote in reasonable time. My builder had his own concrete guy and I am not even sure why that other guy exists in the business because his bid was not only late, it was incomplete and lot of unknowns. Comparatively, Jeff was more thorough and gave the estimate in a very reasonable time. I liked his and his crew's work ethics. They showed up when they said they would. A lot of contractors practice what is I call "book the job" - they will come in one day, move a few things and then disappear for several days. Nothing like this with Jeff - they executed. His crew even worked very late in the evening with rechargeable lights to do the broom finish. While Jeff was executing my job, he became very sick - but he was back on my job for the pre-pour inspection and then getting the job completed even though I could tell he was not 100%. On the final billing - there were a few minor adjustments - all very reasonable for a few extra things that I had requested or for the complications that he ran into on the job. I didn't need to worry about the details, he took care to make it turn out perfect. The finish work is outstanding. Lines are straight, slopes were even and the transition to the old concrete is smooth. The concrete work definitely improved the curb appeal! Marty's concrete is not the cheapest, but there are companies that cost more. Marty was very responsive which helps a lot. Paying $4K out of $5K before any concrete is delivered or finished leaves buyer with zero leverage for job satifactory. When i explained this to the owner he accused me of disrespecting him and his business. I meant no disrespect but also explained that if he was not willing to follow CSLB and revise his terms, I was going to pass on his quote and go with another bidder that i had previous experience with. All I expect is licensed, honest and law abiding contractors who do whats legal and ethical!

They were willing to work with my schedule and met me after work and on weekends when needed. After having them pour a beautiful slab for a new hot tub, moving a ton of dirt for me, and doing some hardscape around a pool, they were able to pour an amazing driveway with textured and colored details that make it a standout in my neighborhood. They poured a concrete pad for my pool equipment and then built a beautiful retaining wall that allowed me to raise my fence and increase its functionality and aesthetic.
