They were willing to work with my schedule and met me after work and on weekends when needed. After having them pour a beautiful slab for a new hot tub, moving a ton of dirt for me, and doing some hardscape around a pool, they were able to pour an amazing driveway with textured and colored details that make it a standout in my neighborhood. They poured a concrete pad for my pool equipment and then built a beautiful retaining wall that allowed me to raise my fence and increase its functionality and aesthetic. He provided a detailed proposal with a clear breakdown of costs and installment plans based on project milestones--which worked perfectly for us. He also provides invoices upon request. The crew was fantastic. Demolition took just a day and a half, debris removal was done in a day, framing the next, and then concrete work followed--altogether about 4.5 days of solid work. Siale was also very considerate of our concerns, especially around trash day--he made sure the garbage truck could still access the alley, which we really appreciated. For us, communication was the top priority, especially with a project of this size, and Siale exceeded expectations. Paying $4K out of $5K before any concrete is delivered or finished leaves buyer with zero leverage for job satifactory. When i explained this to the owner he accused me of disrespecting him and his business. I meant no disrespect but also explained that if he was not willing to follow CSLB and revise his terms, I was going to pass on his quote and go with another bidder that i had previous experience with. All I expect is licensed, honest and law abiding contractors who do whats legal and ethical!

What made this even more frustrating was that we referred our neighbors across the street to this company, and we were told the projects could potentially be poured and worked on at the same time using the same delivery and setup. Because of that, we expected the smaller project pricing to be more reasonable, not dramatically higher per square foot. We completely understand that smaller jobs can cost more due to minimum delivery fees, labor, and equipment costs, but the pricing still felt excessive for the scope of work being requested. After we declined, the quote suddenly dropped from $3,850 to $3,000, which honestly made the original price feel inflated. We felt taken advantage of. Communication was polite, but the pricing process left us uncomfortable and unsure about the fairness and consistency of the estimate. We ultimately chose not to move forward. Well, I paid him the $1000 (cashed on Nov 29th). Checked with Placer County Property Records and there has been no request submitted to lift the lien. So he lied to me and he lied to CSLB. Talk about digging yourself a hole. Will be fun to present this to a judge. I will of course have to subpoena the CSLB agent and put together a presentation on why everything he said and did regarding the outdoor kitchen area was wrong. Nothing new, done it before. I'll post again after trial but I won't settle for the normal small claims judge so it will take several months to get a date.
