I called Auto Zone on Northwest Hwy.-I had been there during the D'Allas-ka event in January when it was snowing here, and they were super helpful, so I thought I would go back. Lloyd answered! A live human! Helpful, courteous, come on in! Lloyd makes it feel like Grapevine is Mayberry R.F.D. or Virgin River! I showed up and told Ethan G. I had called for car key fob batteries and he immediately went to work on it. Not pointing me towards the aisle, literally getting the batteries, cutting the pack open and installing them in under 5 minutes. It's not his job. He could've sold them to me and I would have spent the next two hours doing it (not kidding!) Ethan G. made my day. When I was leaving, Lloyd was in the parking lot, assisting another customer with something on his car, and he waved goodbye to me. Again, beyond the call of his job description to go outside and help someone out with an issue, but he was going way above and beyond, and it seems like this is his default. Second time was today when we stopped in their Grapevine location, asked about a very specific four-forward on their site listed as available, were told they didn't have it and as we started to ask if they had another, the lady just picked up an inbound call and started talking to them rather than focusing on the customers literally standing in front of them. Their sense of entitlement and deep lack of respect for customers is absolutely the reason they are avoided by so many and have such a terrible reputation. Avoid at all costs until you want to be treated like dirt on the bottom of their shoe.
