My car showed me I had low key battery on both key fobs and I tried calling a local specialist, but they hung up. I called Auto Zone on Northwest Hwy.-I had been there during the D'Allas-ka event in January when it was snowing here, and they were super helpful, so I thought I would go back. Lloyd answered! A live human! Helpful, courteous, come on in! Lloyd makes it feel like Grapevine is Mayberry R.F.D. or Virgin River! I showed up and told Ethan G. I had called for car key fob batteries and he immediately went to work on it. Not pointing me towards the aisle, literally getting the batteries, cutting the pack open and installing them in under 5 minutes. It's not his job. He could've sold them to me and I would have spent the next two hours doing it (not kidding!) Ethan G. made my day. When I was leaving, Lloyd was in the parking lot, assisting another customer with something on his car, and he waved goodbye to me. Again, beyond the call of his job description to go outside and help someone out with an issue, but he was going way above and beyond, and it seems like this is his default. That manager helped me and had such an attitude that I would prefer NOT to go back. Someone needs to explain to him that people who come Into his store are there for help not to be treated like 3rd rate trash. Daniel L. deserves a raise because he's super knowledgeable about cars and also seemed to be the go-to employee when any customer arrives needing car assistance. After being disappointed at an AutoZone in Irving, I came to this location to get help with the installation of a new battery, and Daniel immediately got the tools ready and changed the battery at lightning speed. Also, he also probably was the unofficial go-to employee when Spanish-speaking customers needed assistance, from what I observed. I went there to have a diagnostic run on my car. Mike took the device to my car. Afterwards we went back into the store and he attached it to the equipment and told me that it wouldn't do a read. I left there and went to a different Autozone and the diagnostic ran just fine, and the person printed the report for me. read more

Love this place. For the novice mechanically inclined, this store is a huge asset. Yes, they have the parts and tools, but more importantly they are extremely knowledgeable and the customer service at this store goes above and beyond what I've experienced other places in DFW and Texas. This most recent visit I was purchasing brake pads and a couple of small tools I needed when Edward, an Auto Zone associate, came to ask me if I needed help. After I explained the parts I knew of the project I'm working on, he asked a few questions and was happy to explain the steps I missed and help guide on me on possible mishaps I might encounter, along with problem solving tips for when I do (an example: how to properly reposition the pistons and how to best/more easily so). He was such a huge help and I not only got the tools and pads I needed, but also learned so much from him that I'll be able to use not only today, but always. While I was here, I wanted to note that I also heard and saw all of the other employees on duty working with customers, the store was organized, well stocked, and clean, while everyone present also maintained COVID guidelines and recommendations. Had my check engine light come on and needed some oil for the engine and was helped by Mark Egan, he used a car code reader to check what was up, all for free, and for the engine oil he made sure I was going to buy the correct oil (there's synthetic and regular oil for engines now a days), in the end I didn't buy anything but Mark Egan, was a huge help, ever need with a random check engine light comes on definitely ask for Mark to help you, he is the best example of customer service. 100% would recommend coming to this auto zone!! read more

Been to may autozones. Needed help picking out the right wiper blades for my Silverado. Guy behind counter said "you'll have to get them from the dealer." I said wiper blades? He said they are custom to the mfg. I said the oil change place always provide them? He said "go to oil change place." My 2014 Honda Odyssey's electrical started acting up so I went by this AutoZone. This is usually my husband's job so I'm uncomfortable dealing with car stuff. Dennis came out to check my battery, showed my all the corrosion, hooked me up with a new one (while I did a conference call - yay work from anywhere!) and changed out all my windshield wipers. I came into the store because my car requires a spring to open the fuel tank door. When it snapped off, I was embarrassed trying to figure out how to get it open in the middle of a crowded gas line. Rino was extremely helpful and took the time to work on the cable we had to use to manually override the door. He installed the new spring for me and made sure to triple check it would work and I wouldn't be stuck again. He saved me a very expensive trip to the dealer and a long weekend waiting on repairs. Incredibly helpful, kind service. I went in to get my code read on my car, the engine light was on. Barton the store manager helped me out going above and beyond. Not only did he inform me of what the code results were and why, but he even installed support lifts on my hood when he saw mine were shot and no longer working. One of the best auto parts stores I've ever been to. The store is always well stocked and super clean. I don't live in this area but I often find myself buying car stuff here because the people are just so great. I love the fact that they have everything and anything I just might need. Normally I love this Autozone location. I went in yesterday and purchased a new battery for my car. One of the employees installed the battery and it still wouldn't start. At that point the employee said "it might be your alternator or starter" and walked back inside. I had to have the car towed to my mechanic. Upon inspection the mechanic discovered that one battery terminal wasn't tightened down all the way. After calling and speaking to the manager, I was told that installation of batteries is a voluntary service that they provide and "they could have just sold me the battery and you could have installed it yourself". At least I would have done it correctly if I had installed it myself. If they are going to offer basic services - even if they are voluntary, they should stand behind what they offer. read more

Went to Auto Zone this past Saturday. It wasn't too busy, I was directed to the supplies that I needed to buy. I walked up to the check out line and waited my turn, two people in front of me. Okay, my turn next, then one of the sales persons walked up with a man and ignored me waiting patiently in line and proceeded to start checking him out. I said, excuse me, "Am I chopped liver standing here, perhaps invisible?" Quite rude of the men to by pass a woman standing in line. The sales person said, "Oh, are you in line?" Uh, YES, that's why I'm standing here! What ever happened to gentlemen even in an auto parts store? The sales person started to check me out but never apologized. So, stuff happens... I was working on getting my wiper blades on and there was a clip I didn't see. An employee saw me wrestling with it and kindly came over to help me out. While showing me where the clip was, the wiper arm slipped out of his hand and cracked my windshield. Bummer. The store manager and district manager got me taken care of. They got my windshield promptly replaced with no cost to me. It's the kind of situation where they could have made life difficult but didn't. I woke up this morning with an awful stench emitting from the AC in my car, and after spraying two cans of Lysol into the intake with no success I decided to swing by Autozone to see if they could assist. Catfish P. jumped right on it and after first checking to see if my AC was leaking, we decided to pull out the cabin air filter to see what was going on there as the smell was only getting worse. After pulling out the glove compartment and then the filter it hit us both, WHAM! The smell was overwhelming and lo and behold, a huge decomposing rat fell out into the space where the filter was. Catfish P. wasn't bothered in the least and in two seconds flat he had the rat by the neck using a pair of pliers I had in my glove compartment. He tossed the offending rodent into a dumpster and promptly helped me purchase and install a new filter and odor bomb, all with a smile so big I could see it behind his mask. Catfish P. Was with my son across the street for a cancer treatment appointment, my daughter turned the car on with the key fob and accidentally drained the car battery because she was unable to be in the office with us due to COVID. The guys at auto zone came over and jump started the car while we were getting lab draws without even making me leave my son to attend to the car problem- they just took care of it! We have to get to Hurst for another procedure within the hour and these sweet guys had us rolling and on our way without losing even a minute! Thanks so much- you don't even know what we've endured the last 24 hours, but you made it possible for us to keep on going !!!
