We really enjoyed the food here! We hadn't really researched it, we had just been told by friends it was good, so we checked it out one night when we suddenly found ourselves with a sitter and lapsed plans. We were surprised it was a counter order place, but the lady taking orders was very polite and the vibe was relaxed enough that it didn't feel burdensome. They have some pasta and pasta-making tools for sale throughout the dining room, and they have several comfortable chairs if you're just grabbing a frozen coffee (and you should - it was fantastic!) or a quick bite. We ordered two meatballs for an appetizer and two pasta dishes, one with red sauce and another with the sausage and spinach. The pastas were fresh, the meatball was flavorful, and overall this was a great meal. It's nice having a fast casual option downtown, and we'll definitely check them out again, possibly with a group. read more

Every time you walk in you are instantly felt welcomed by a sincere greeting and asked if you have any questions. The pasta is made fresh, portion sizes are great, prices good, selection good, clean, bright and uplifting space. Some really great creative dishes with all fresh ingredients. This is my "go to" Italian Restaurant in Cherokee County. I can bring anyone with me for the first timed and they all say the same thing....."I'm coming back here." And, they do. We went a while ago and I still remember my dinner and how great my tummy felt afterwards. So many times I will have pasta and then regret it. Not because it isn't good, but because of how it makes my stomach feel for the rest of the night! I wasn't even thinking about my stomach and of course, ordered the pasta! Which was outstanding! It was so delicious and light. The sauce clung to all the little nooks and crannies of the homemade pasta! What a treat! At first I was wanting bread to eat with it (I am a lover of carbs!), but I didn't even miss crusty bread because the pasta was so satiating and wonderful! A super busy restaurant that somehow manages to seat all of its guests brilliantly! A very well thought out dining experience! And we went upon the first week of opening, so I know it has only gotten even more awesome! Can't wait to go back!! First time at Pops. Let's start with the place. It's a counter service restaurant with the hope you can find a table to eat your meal. The inside is fresh with almost an airy modern library/coffee shop feel. Service is standard counter service with food runners so not much to say about service. The food: pasta is fresh made, and the dishes we had were delish. Wife had the eggplant meatball parm and I had the sausage and broccoli rabe. Both were magnificent. Prices are pretty reasonable considering a typical Italian pasta place at $19 a plate. The Caesar salad with anchovy Caesar dressing was heavy on the anchovy taste. Not bad just a FYI. I think this place has a great formula for success because the food is the best part of this place. It's quite busy often so you might want to secure a seat before you order when it's busy. The fresh pasta at Pop's has never disappointed. This place is my go to Italian restaurant in Canton.

I was initially a bit skeptical, but the food won me over. The ambiance is classy, but you order at the counter and you get your own flatware, napkins, etc. at a shared service station. There is also a little shop in the center of the dining area with the seating arranged in a U around it. There is no outside seating, and the restroom is accessed by exiting the back of the restaurant to a shared hallway. The menu variety is on the small side and despite some great looking bread on display in the prep area, there is no way to get it as a side (it's only for sandwiches). Also, drinks are in cans or bottles and that includes iced tea. So the only item with refills is tap water in a plastic cup. But on the upside the staff are very friendly and the food was delicious. I had the Norcina and the freshness of each ingredient was evident and the flavors were great. The portion was good as were those of the salads. My wife had the chopped salad and enjoyed hers immensely, while I had the Caesar. read more

I am so happy to hear of family businesses coming into the community. With the arrival of POPS there was a lot of local excitement and I had to check it out. The space is beautiful! It is so bright and clean and elegant without being stuffy and pretentious. There is a market are with some tasty options for creating an Italian delicacy at home. When you walk in, menus are available to peruse while waiting to place your order. The process moved quickly. Everyone in my party ordered the Primo sandwich. It is a roast pork with broccoli rabe and provolone akin to the heavenly roast pork sandwich from Philly. Everything on the sandwich complimented each other perfectly! You could taste every individual item but all came together in a beautiful way. And let's talk about the bread...the bread quality can make or break a sandwich...POPs bread just made the whole meal sing! I think I made sounds of yums and mmm's with every bite. The pasta chips were fun and a great accompaniment! The sauce was tomatoey marinara style but had a sweet and spicy aspect to it. It was so good! To top off the good eats, I had the Cab Driver (frozen coffee with espresso and a chocolate liquor) and it was another home run. The owner, Andy was hustling around his gem taking care of customers, clearing and cleaning tables all while greeting and checking in with everyone. This is a good dining addition to downtown Canton. When you walk in it feels inviting and clean. Brighter decor and plenty of windows it's one of this spots that could be lunch, a date night, or relaxed and casual dining with friends. My wife and I went for lunch and had sandwiches which were generous and delicious. We returned with friends another time for dinner and between the four of us had pasta, salads, and sandwiches. The food tasted of fresh ingredients and the service was terrific. Sure, you order at the counter but they bring it out to you and are very kind, welcoming, and professional. A couple of tables are community style, others are 2 or 4 tops, and then there are some cushioned and comfy chairs for just having coffee or a beverage. The background music is great, both times we've been there was some jazz playing and it was perfect volume so you could still enjoy conversation without leaning in or elevating your voice. Surprising for such an airy place. The owners are friendly and gracious. We arrived at 7:30 one evening and they let us stay past their 8pm closing (we didn't realize they were closing at 8) without giving us the fish eye, in fact they suggested we stay and enjoy as they had work to do. I moved to the canton area a year ago and wanted to try POPs with my son. I had been at home recovering from surgery and decided to give it a try. we ordered Spaghetti with meatballs and a Caesar salad with crispy chicken. Two very basic meals. The spaghetti sauce was under whelming and the spaghetti noodles were as big around as a #2 pencil. There was so much anchovy in the Caesar dressing that I could Not eat it. The chicken was also very dry. At $18 for spaghetti and $17 for the salad, we will definitely not be back. The staff was very nice. read more

Service is counter walk up which is perfect and was welcomed by smiles and a great staff. Overall decor is perfect for that great spot offering sandwiches, pasta and salads in beautiful Canton Ga where you can shop and dine. I was looking forward to trying Pops in Canton! As much as I was hoping it was going to be awesome I wish I could give it a better review. The staff were very pleasant and patient taking our order and answering our questions. The area inside is large and inviting. I ordered a meatball sandwich. For the price of $14.00, for 2 lukewarm meatballs with a single piece of thin cheese that was barely melted and presented on a plate with nothing else on it, no greens, no chips etc. I have to say I was a bit disappointed. It's possible that because it's a new restaurant there will be a learning curve as to what works and what doesn't. I will wait a few weeks and try it again because I truly hope that things improve and they remain open. read more

What now resides in the old Jones Mercantile building, is a wonderfully family owned and operated Italian resistant. I am so glad to see such a wonderful business in downtown canton! Food is phenomenal, especially for the price point. Parking is going to be tight, but it's well worth it. I think this has become all of downtown Canton's new lunch spot! The atmosphere was very elegant and absolutely beautiful. They did a wonderful job with decorating. We got the Caesar salad, which was good. But just note that it is a true Caesar salad so it does have the fish taste to it. We also got the Hey Frankie sub which was very very good. We had the choice to have the marinara on the sub or not and we asked for it on the side. It didn't even need the marinara, had enough flavor and juice. Bread was very good and toasted so had a nice crunch to it. We also got the chicken parm. It was very crispy and the chicken was full of flavor and very very yummy. The noodles were good, I personally think they were a little over cooked, but still absolutely amazing. I just wish I had a tiny bit more sauce to noodle ratio.
