I went to Poppas Place on 10-26-19 with a group of 7 of my closest amigos for breakfast. Right off the rip I knew this place was the truth because the line was stacked out the door, the universal symbol of good food. Upon leaving my name I was told the wait would be about 10 minutes, I thought no way possible, but promptly was proven wrong. The prices are right on par with other diner type establishments, but the food quantity is of the large variety. There are numerous unique menu items and a good local type crowd. The service was entertaining and great. I do regret not taking any pictures but would highly recommend the Hungry Boy Breakfast. I choose an omelette that was very good, but of the 7 plates at the table, the Hungry Boy Breakfast was clearly the champ. read more

Only been coming here a short time but the food is really good. Don't let the smallness of the restaurant scare ya away. Staff are friendly and if it's crowded it's well worth the wait. If you like Eggs Benedict get this with the brisket, it's out of this world. Gonna try the Cinnamon French Toast next time we go. :) read more

The parking lot was full when we pulled up on a Sunday morning prior to 8am; to me that's always a good sign. Breakfast was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to find a chorizo dish on the menu. Quick and friendly service. Very attentive servers. Excellent prices. I loved they had several specials for unique breakfast dishes. read more

The eggs, gyro meat arrived undercooked. Not as ordered, did not look appetizing. Rye toast with butter slathered on , looked like peanut butter consistency, not melted. Outstanding "home cooked" menu. Parking can be challenging on busy weekends for breakfast because of this restauant's popularity. If there is a line for breakfast, and there often is, the chicken fried steak is worth the wait. read more

This is one of the better choices for the area. If you've ever been out here you know it's pretty slim Pickens when it comes to dining options. Poppas is basically the local version of a Coney Island . I've eaten here a few times and it's always pretty good especially when you compare it to the area. Seems to be one of the only non chain or franchise options are far as restaurants go in the area. I'm sure there are a few bar type places that have better food but I'm usually in the area on Tuesdays hanging with my daughter. read more

Poppa's has a very Good Friday fish fry - one of the best around the Brooklyn area. I always get the fried cod. It's all you can eat, and comes with 2 sides. They have other good things on the menu, including homemade pies. They are always friendly too. It's a small place, so sometimes there's a line, but it's worth the wait. read more

This restaurant has been in business 20 years so they are doing something right. I had the omelette which was more like a big fried egg with fixings inside. Not at all fluffy. The hash browns were great, cooked extra crispy as requested. Service was ok. The ceiling fans look like they haven't been cleaned in 20 years. This small country restaurant has good home style food. They also sell whole homemade pies. But it seems to me that their air conditioner is stuck on high, its always freezing in there. read more

Pretty good homestyle cooking. It is just what you would expect from a Hometown diner. The service was OK, it was better for the breakfast than the dinner I tried. Good for a stick to your ribs kind of meal after a long day working in the yard. Not the best place for a romantic dinner or an evening out with old friends. read more

This place is totally disgusting. Their menu prices are outragoues for the "straight out of the can" food that you get. Most of their so-called "homemade" food is straight from Gordon's Food, including ALL of their pies and most of their dinner specials such as cabbage rolls. I would never suggest anyone going here. read more
