This place was stellar. Maybe tonight is a little off but it wasn't very good. The tamale was great. The beef in the enchilada was strange. It was just ground beef but seemed creamy. I love chile rellenos. This one tonight wasn't good. The pepper was tough like it wasn't cooked. The cheese had the most amazing pull but the whole thing was flavorless. It was a huge chile too. Service was nice. Place was clean. They charge $3 for chips and salsa that was not good. Chunky bland salsa that was watery and the chips were thick and over cooked. Maybe another visit will be better. Times are tough but cutting corners on quality is noticeable. read more

I ordered the Quesa Birrias taco platter. Oh my goodness, these were so out of this world delicious!! Three come on the lovely wooden plank dish and they are packed with juicy shredded beef. They truly were the most delicious I've had. The dipping juice they came with was so delicious and bursting with flavor. The guacamole was delicious too, it comes with a little dish of that. My server was Jacob. He was very welcoming and friendly. He was very professional and it was him that recommended this lovely dish! He was great! He provided the best service! So glad I came in here. Was craving some Mexican food while in town visiting my parents and they brought us to Pepper's. We were seated immediately and were greeted with chips and salsa. The chips were warm and fresh but could use a little salt (just my opinion). I wasn't able to enjoy the salsa due to a food allergy but it looked good and fresh. My parents both got the Molcajete as it is their favorite dish there. I ordered the Enchiladas Mexicanas which was good. The meat was a little on the dry side for my liking but just added more red sauce to it (which I had served on the side). The beans and rice were standard Mexican restaurant quality, lacking in flavor. The hubs ordered the Quesabirria tacos. He was surprised by how much meat was in the tacos and thought it was almost too much meat. He also felt that the meat was on the tough side. He said he has definitely had much better and would give them a 5.2/10. Service was great despite the small language barrier with our server. We would check them out again when we are visiting again but will definitely try different dishes. read more

A bunch of us stopped in here for dinner on Saturday night and wow was it amazing! First of all, I know my mexican food. I lived in Texas for 5 years which is the mexican food capital of the U.S. Anyways, to start the chips , salsa and quac are some of the best I've ever had. And the chips keep coming. The salsa is made with super freah tomatoes and cilantro. I also like that it wasn't spicy. The guac is also made with fresh, perfectly ripe avocados. I like that is has a bit of chunk in it. If you are a margarita fan, get one. Huge portions. Not just drinks- for food also! I got the quesabirria's ...and wow crispy , juicy, dip it in thw beef consome and amazing. Super flavorful, cooked to crispy taco perfection. The beef is super tender and juicy. Several others got burritos, tacos, enchaliadas and fajitas. All tasted amazing and you won't leave hungry. Plus service was friendly, quick. Owner/cook/waiter were so nice! I would def eat here again. Top notch! read more

They have free chips and salsa (I'm mentioning this because the only other Mexican restaurant here in town is Salsa Ria's and they charge for chips and Salsa) Plus they are way better at Peppers. I highly recommend you try their Street Taco combo which comes with 3 street tacos and you can pick from any two different kind, also comes with beans and rice. My wife loves their classic margaritas on the rocks. Their Chimichangas are also tasty. But their beef fajitas lack flavor and the quality of the meat is not that great. I'd like to share a few thoughts about the meal I received on 12/2/25. Let's begin with the tacos. When most people hear "tacos," they imagine flavor, variety, maybe even a little joy. Your cook, however, apparently heard "tacos" and thought, "Ah yes... beef. And lettuce. Nothing else. Nailed it." It was less a taco and more a sad architectural structure made of confusion and regret. Now, the enchiladas... those were an experience. One bite and I was instantly transported back to childhood--specifically to that phase where someone thinks ketchup can be used as a legitimate sauce for anything. It was like a culinary time machine I did NOT ask to ride. Then there was the quesadilla. Not cut. Not even attempted. Just one large, unbothered tortilla frisbee filled with cheese. It looked like it was daring me to figure out how to eat it. And the taco salad? It was basically everything else from the meal dumped together like the cook said, "Eh, close enough." This restaurant has several locations- we tried the one in Milan. Overall we had a fantastic experience. The only odd thing we didn't love is the fact that when you sit at the bar, the wait staff still serve you. There is no bartender per se- the wait staff divvy up bar customers just like table customers. And they make their own drinks. Not a big deal (and maybe it's only this location due to staffing shortages) but we like to sit at a bar and talk to the bartenders about the establishment, surrounding area, etc and we couldn't do that. But otherwise this will definitely become a regular spot for us. We had the beef and bean nachos, los compadres burritos, and tacos (Al Pastor and carnitas). All of it was very good. The beef and bean nachos are LOADED with goodness and yet never got soggy. The tacos were flavorful and like a party in your mouth. The los compadres had some good heat to the chorizo. And of course- we had to try the large margaritas- it comes in a bowl!!! I highly recommend checking this place out! read more

Like others, I like to think that I know Mexican food. This gringo spent 40 years in CA and made numerous trips into Baja CA, especially for seafood. This and I had several friends with Abuelas from different parts of the country of Mexico. This being said, this restaurant, like most in the midwest leans towards Tex-Mex cuisine. This is not a bad thing. I like Tex-Mex too. I just remind myself of where I now live. I only had Street Tacos as I visited at lunch. I will offer that the tacos were quite good!! I also had a bite of my wife's beans. They were just OK. NOTE: My wife cannot tolerate MSG in any form or amount. Our waitress was sweet and made 4 or 5 round trips to the kitchen to check things out for us - yes a hassle (she received a 35% tip on the small order we placed) but we had to be sure. NOTE: THEY USE MSG IN 95% OF THEIR MENU OFFERINGS PER INFORMATION GIVEN BY OUR WAITRESS. This includes all tomato-based sauces and salsas. Additionally, guacamole, cheese sauces, and meat seasonings also contain MSG. Some good news: they have a number of Gluten Free items - she has to avoid Gluten as well. But then the MSG thing. Although I have had much worse, if I return, it will be by myself as my wife cannot exist on beans and tortilla chips. Finally, I have given this 4 stars as OF COURSE, it is not their fault that my wife could not eat basically any of their menu items. We simply didn't know prior to asking. I didn't expect some little Mexican spot in little Milan to be as good as this was. The carnitas that I had. Was GREAT. My girlfriend ordered some chimichangas, and those were very good too. The problem i tend to see at smaller mexican restaurants is a lack of flavor. That was not the case here. Everything was quite good. Will be back. read more

On Sunday May 4th I placed a order over the phone. Was told it would be ready in 10 minutes. Showed up in 10 minutes. When I got home the order was Cold. My order was also not correct. When I called back the person that answered the phone was rude saying that I was in the wrong and that my order was as described over the phone. The fact that I ordered 30 minutes before closing time sent a message that no one cared. I have been a fan of Pepper's Grill up until now. A simple I'm sorry would of been in order. Tecumseh is a small town and I will tell everyone not to order over the phone 30 minutes before closing time. I will share my experience with the entire town of Tecumseh. Repeat again the food was cold and I am not a gold digger on leaving poor reviews. I give praise to all people in life. I'm disappointed how the employee handled the call. First time visiting and we were starving. Prompt service, but one beer was wrong- we didn't say anything. We both got fajitas (my fave at any Mexican restaurant) but it was mostly peppers and onions with a few tiny pieces of chicken and steak. We just expected a bit more for $17 each. I'm from the Southwest in Arizona - half Puerto Rican/half Mexican. Finding real Mexican food in the middle of Michigan is not easy. Happened upon this place while attending the Center for Arts around the corner. Incredible! The salsa is authentic, the beans were amazing - just like my parents make, which is HARD TO REPLICATE. I have heard a few good things about this place so we decided to try it out. Knowing it might be busy because it was a Friday night we were pleasantly surprised that it wasn't very busy. We waited and waited and waited to be seated. There was about 5 tables seated and it looked like there was two waitress and a girl working the register. The girl at the register was sloth like and the rest of the staff was blind as they couldn't see any of us waiting. Maybe the staff was dehydrated since it was about 80 degrees in the place or the fact they didn't care. Either way we left. Nice portion sizes and the food always arrives together and hot however service is a bit slow and the waitstaff doesn't follow up with drink refills often. I wish they served alcohol. The portions were bountiful. Flavors were authentic and bold without being excessive. The food was delivered hot, proceeded with homemade salsa and chips. We concluded our visit with a fried icecream that was perfect for two people, crispy, creamy, smothered in chocolate and carmel and a delightful and perfect conclusion to an amazing diner. The service was exceptional. Our waitress was friendly, funny while appropriate, professional, caring without being overbearing. The pricing is extremely reasonable. It cost us about the same as going to any chain fastfood resturant with better food, better service and better ambiance. If you are looking for food while in or near Tecumseh, I highly recommend stopping into Peppers. read more

I love Mexican restaurants, when I found this one opened in Tecumseh I wanted to try. Turns out to be disappointing, wait staff not friendly at all, food looks good, but tastes bland. Plus, it's more family friendly, no alcohol served, what Mexican restaurant doesn't have a good margarita! Will be going back to the best one around Cancun in Saline. They can have a full restaurant and still get your food out to you in no time, with a smile on there face. read more

Having eaten at the Peppers in Milan I was so so disappointed in the Tecumseh location. I get the no liquor license but the food and service was horrible. It is understandable that sometimes service can be bad, for whatever reasons it happens! Our server was just bad. We sat down and waited for him to come take our order. I ordered the vegetable fajitas and asked what veggie goes were in them. No mention of mushrooms.... We get our food and the first thing he does is take one of our entrees away saying it was wrong... it was not. My veggie fajitas were filled with mushrooms. The veggies had no flavor at all. I asked for no sour cream and it came with a huge dollop of sour cream. He never once came back to see how everything was. At the end of the meal we had to flag down a bus boy to get our bill. I would think after being open a few years, this would have been a better experience but sadly we will not be coming back! On a positive note the chips and salsa were great!!!! read more

Had lunch here last week while in town visiting family. We live in San Diego and are used to eating authentic Mexican cuisine. Pepper's did not disappoint! Carne Asada was on point.
