I visited for lunch, and had a great experience. The service was attentive and fast. The salsa was fresh and flavorful, and my chicken burrito was delicious! There was a small, but yummy, hot sauce selection as well, to add a little kick, if you like kick. (I do!) The natural light coming in from the big windows really made the place feel light and airy. Not worth it for a long wait. Came on a Friday night on a busy weekend. I placed an order online for pickup at 9PM hoping it would be ready within 15 minutes which was our drive time there. Wait time: We were given a wait time of 35 minutes on the online app. We got there about 10-15 minutes after placing the order, and I asked if there's any way we could expedite the order. The wait staff was not sympathetic. It's okay if it can't be faster but it would be nice to be kind still. And it ENDED UP TAKING 45 minutes, so close to 10PM (their closing time) for the food to come out and we had to proactively ask for it. From what I could tell, there was a lot of front house staff but not enough people in the kitchen. Taste: Maybe it's because I am from California but the food just wasn't that impressive. The taco was super dry and most of the fiesta combo was not flavorful. The beef burrito was decent but nothing to come back for. Chips and salsa were good to snack on. Even though the taste wasn't that good, it was pretty salty and I had to drink lots of water later that night. Positives: Portions were big. Parking was plentiful. The nachos came out with cold chips and shredded cheese that wasn't even melted. The salsa tasted like it came straight from a store-bought jar, nothing fresh about it. The enchiladas were just as bad. The cheese inside was cold and clumpy. Nothing was hot, nothing had flavor. The food was bland and forgettable. When we told the manager, he got defensive instead of apologizing. He just said, "Fine, pay at the register," like we were the problem. I had been wanting to try this since I heard that all their meat is halal. I went here for dinner with a friend and was so surprised by the kind and thoughtful service! I couldn't decide what meat to get so I got three crunchy tacos one with shredded chicken, one with ground beef and one with pulled beef. We also got the chips and salsa. It was soo tasty and fresh! I stopped by Bandito's for lunch on Friday around 1 PM with a friend. It was not very busy and we were told we could where we liked. The wait staff was quick but could have been a bit friendlier. The waitress was very nice but most of the time we were serviced by a man. He was rather short with responses and nearly dropped my friend's plate in front of her when he brought our food from how quickly he was moving, and then departed the table immediately afterwards. Every interaction with the male waiter felt rushed. The restaurant itself was very clean and lots of natural light. A very nice place to grab lunch or dinner with friends and family. That's about all the nice things I have to say. My son ordered Baja chimichanga with beef and chicken. It looked delicious coming out with beans that had cheese mixed in and rice. Burrito - tender meat, finished with fresh toppings, and a fresh soft tortilla that melts in your mouth. Quesadilla - steak was absolutely tender cut, and flavorful, perfectly cooked with the quesadilla. Strawberry Margarita was amazing. Modelo on draft is like sipping heaven in a glass. From the atmosphere, and creatively decorated space, I really really enjoyed this place. The service felt like you were at your friends house just eating good food, and having a drink. Absolutely WRETCHED. Anywhere that charges for chips and salsa is a red flag, but this place charges by the little cupful of salsa!! A couple tablespoons is all you get after paying $6 for chips and salsa! I don't want to throw the waitress under the bus, but even she confessed that she thought their salsa charges were outrageous; she said Bandito's is the only restaurant around that charges like that. The meat was flavorless--the shredded beef was exactly like Mississippi pot roast that anybody could make in a crock pot. You can get a better hard shell taco at Taco Bell. The beans and rice were fine but not super flavorful, either. I hate to be so hard on a local restaurant, but I just left feeling scammed. There are so many good reviews on this place, especially on Google, but I'm a little suspicious that some of them might be fake. Either that or people get drunk on the margaritas and leave a review while they still have the beer goggles on. I've eaten a lot of Mexican food in my life--I've lived in Chicago, I've helped cook in Mexican kitchens, I've even traveled to Mexico--and this is NOT authentic to any region. Stay away!! read more

I live in Southern California where Mexican restaurants are on every corner, and I've never experienced a restaurant quite like this one. The décor is very unique and quite professionally done. The food is nicely prepared and by most standards not spicy. Ask for a side of jalapeños if you want more heat. Note that this is an owner-operated establishment, not a corporate restaurant. Harshly Honest Review: The only Mexican thing in this place is the decor because even the songs weren't Mexican. The food was straight up American. The food was like Taco Bell dressed up nicely. Who does that to a customer? * The chips were delivered cold, and the salsa was weak (little spice) and runny. * My companion ordered chicken enchiladas without comment. Look in ANY recipe book for a picture of chicken enchiladas--red sauce (tomato-based) almost exclusively. This is UNLESS you order Enchiladas Suizas. The issue is that my companion is gluten intolerant, and nowhere on the menu does it state that the sauce for this dish is thickened with flour. When my companion asked for it to be remade traditionally, the waitress's reaction was that it was her fault that she didn't inform the surly gentleman (NOT her) of the food allergy. After all, she replied yes when she asked to ensure the tortillas were corn. No issue. She stated that she could not have a flour tortilla for the above reason. With reluctance, the dish was remade. Thanks... *My taquitos were overcooked and dry. My ground beef taco was good, with plenty of lettuce, tomatoes, and cheese. However, it was very bland. We will not visit again. The owner is a scammer. He doesn't itemize his receipt and charges automatic 20% gratuity, then hands you a bill with the tip section blank. Hes trying to get a double tip out of his customer without the bill showing you that 20% gratuity is already being charged. I was at Anytime Fitness to confirm their hours and access. I didn't workout, but did walk a mile before deciding to try this place. It was literally right next to the gym. I read and felt mixed, but I was too lazy to drive anywhere else. I ordered the Machos Nachos w/ ground beef and their chicken Taco Salad. I waited about 10-13 minutes. Not too long. I noticed they serve quite a bit via DoorDash and it seems they had repeat patrons. The Machos Tacos is basically melted cheese over a bed of tortilla chips. The ground beef were good, but after eating from the top (obv), the remainder of the chips were just tortilla chips since the cheese weren't distributed or layered. I did use their sides of salsa, guacamole, and sour cream to liven the dish. The taco salad was different than what I am used to - no complaints. I like the fact that they do not serve rice in their taco salad. The lettuce was crisp, the guacamole and sour cream provided a comforting and fulfilling taste. The tortilla bowl wasn't greasy.
