The shrimp taco was fantastic, and the beef taco was just as good. The corn tortillas seemed to be lightly fried, giving them a wonderful texture and authentic flavor. The dining area is small, with seating for around 20 people, but that's part of the charm. It's a casual, no-frills little spot where the food is clearly the star. Everything we tried was delicious. Nothing fancy--just fresh, flavorful, really good Mexican food. We will definitely be back!

The food took some time coming out, my wife enjoyed all three of her tacos. My shrimp taco was good and the corn tortilla was good not overly dry. Two salsas come to the table both were very good. The Gordita was solid liked the lettuce and cheese along with the meat. The thicker corn tortilla goes a longer to fill you up than a taco. Overall a good place, did not blow me away , but solid.

When I first walked in, there were two guys standing at the counter for quite a while. I couldn't figure out what they were doing until I saw the employee counting out cash. I also wasn't sure if I should sit to order my food or order at the counter. Eventually the employee handed me a menu so I sat at a table. There were other tables with native people at them so I figured the food must be good. I ordered a combo meal from the menu written in Spanish. It had two tacos, a tamale, and rice and beans. A short time later I was told they didn't have tamales. I was bummed about that so I ordered three tacos with a side of rice and beans. I was surprised at how long the food took to come out. And the portion of rice and beans was tiny, especially for $4. Of the tacos, the beef was a little tough, but the chicken and pork were good. The rice and beans were both tasty. Just not enough. Overall for over $14, I didn't think the food or experience was worth it. Maybe the tamales are the star of the show.

Immediately upon walking in we were greeted SO kindly and genuinely. The restaurant is beautiful- so nicely decorated and so clean. To start we were given chips and salsa which were fantastic. The salsa had a little bit of spice to it too which I loved. We both also loved the passion fruit Agua Fresca, another 10/10. They were so kind and brought us a sample of the cucumber and lime Agua Fresca as well which I'll definitely be getting with my next meal from here because it was SO refreshing and tasty. I got a vegetarian quesadilla and there's not a single thing I would change about it. It was hot and filling and so tasty! It had so much flavor! The guacamole and salsa it was served with were fantastic, too. My husband absolutely loved his steak burrito, too! I've been to Taqueria La Marqueza a few times now and each time has left me wanting to go back immediately. The food is spectacular, and the staff is super friendly; they were really helpful in trying to understand the best options. My personal recommendation: get the Chorizo! It's fantastically seasoned, and truly leaves you wanting to eat about 7 metric tons of it. It's great in the tacos, and their burrito is an excellent value as well. If you're doing a takeout order, my pro-tip is to get some tacos and order a burrito for lunch the next day! I'm leaving this review because of the way a mistake with my order was handled--not simply because…read morean item was forgotten. I placed a large takeout order at La Marqueza Taqueria and, after getting home, discovered that my $11.56 chicken quesadilla was completely missing from the bag. Mistakes happen. Someone forgetting a quesadilla would not, by itself, have caused me to leave a negative review. What bothered me was the response when I tried to get the situation resolved. The employee told me, essentially, "I'm not giving you anything. I'm not the owner. The owner is out of town for the next two weeks. I don't have contact with him. I'm here by myself. There is no compensation for you." My choices were to drive all the way back to the restaurant so he could make the quesadilla, or drive all the way back to receive my $11.56 refund. That means the restaurant made the mistake, but I had to absorb the time, gas, and inconvenience required to correct it. I wasn't expecting anything outrageous or trying to get free food. I simply asked whether there was anything they could do to acknowledge the fact that their mistake required me to make an additional round trip. There wasn't. What was especially concerning was being told that the person working apparently had no authority to resolve a customer-service problem beyond replacing or refunding the missing item, couldn't contact the owner, and that the owner wouldn't be available for two weeks. A restaurant can make a mistake. What matters is how it handles that mistake. An $11.56 quesadilla turned into a much bigger customer-service issue than it ever needed to be. A simple gesture or even an effort to acknowledge the inconvenience would have gone a long way. Instead, I was basically told: come back for your food, come back for your money, or there's nothing else I can do for you. That experience definitely affected whether I would choose to spend my money here again.
