Our favorite "go to" place, a dear friend of 45 years and I come to Cancun every other month to catch up. Once you eat there, you'll know why. It's just wonderful. Easy to access, plenty of free parking, quaint decor, scrupulously clean, not too loud, service as you'd expect from a family member (attentive but not hovering), and the food ... oh, the food! If it's not on their menu, you don't need it, and they're happy to make substitutions or additions (I always need more onions). Their margaritas, which come in multiple flavors, are large enough to baptize a baby and very reasonably priced. My husband and I have a house in Arizona where there's a Mexican restaurant on every street corner. I still prefer Cancun. read more

we love this place the food is great ! we eat out a lot but seem to eat here most of the time . The cheese enchiladas are great and the isamal special is to die for my favorite. Will continue with this restaurant as long as they stay. read more

The food was very tasty! Ordered the lion lunch bowl and it was awesome! The steak was marinated well and tender. The waitress was very friendly. My only down side was they didn't refill our drinks. The restaurant can be a little noisy when it's busy, but it's clean and bright inside. read more

best thing might be the serving sizes. Active 185 lb man and I brought food home. good food too

Super kind staff, incredible food, fast service, good vibe, and great price. I will always pick this Mexican restaurant over any other in saline. read more

First time. Never to return. Food was mediocre at best - horrible canned white queso cheese in "cheese" enchilada- everything so flat tasting- queso was a squirt of canned white liquid cheese with super oily chorizo- terrible. Save yourselves ugh read more

This place is exceptional. I'm from Texas, so I have a solid radar for good Tex-Mex food, and this hits all the notes. Their salsa is delicious (and abundant! i love the carafes). Their fajitas are to kill for. Their margaritas aren't joking around. Seriously - I love this spot, and it's a great value on top of everything else. The service is also great and friendly. I have to stop myself from eating here more! read more

So glad to have found this restaurant! I have lived in Saline for a year and a half, discovered this place just over a year ago, and have probably had their food 10 times. Mexican food is my favourite and this place does not disappoint. I've eaten in the restaurant and got carryout and have been happy with the food and service every time. read more

I am so surprised with the fact that this place has 4 stars. The food here is disgusting. Bland and no flavor. TO MAKE IT WORST THERE WAS HAIR IN MY FOOD. The tostada was disgusting and soggy I couldn't pick up the tortilla under. Then they threw lettuce all over it. I've never had a tostada with that much lettuce. The burrito was an entire joke. It was more like an enchilada to me. It wasn't rolled or anything. The only good thing is the flan. Everything else was disgusting I had to throw it all out read more

I celebrated my birthday having dinner with my family. It was my first time there. Unfortunately we got there pretty late but you wouldn't have even noticed that cause the food was Amazing!! The service was great and staff was Super Friendly!!! They even surprised me with one of their signature desserts to share. ( at no charge!!!) Making my Night even BETTER! Cause I LOVE MY ICE CREAM!! YES!! I recommend this spot. I will be back!! read more

The food here is delicious. I always go to Cancun when I'm craving tacos. There chips and salsa is also decent. Only complaint is wait staff sometimes doesn't pay attention to you. Last time we were there we had to ask for a lot of things like refills, the correct tortillas, etc. read more

I have driven by this location many times but have never stopped in to dine. After I heard a recommendation, I decided to visit for a early dinner. This restaurant is so bright and colorful inside even with the tables and chairs. The menu has so many items to choose from and there is something for everyone. Both me and my son picked items from the specials menu. I chose the taco/burrito combination and my son chose the two burrito meal. I really wanted to try a margarita but was driving. The service was a little slow but very friendly staff. I have a few other restaurants that I prefer but this was a good visit read more

This restaurant just continues to go downhill in terms of food quality. Last night will likely be our last visit. Three out of the four entrees we ordered were absolutely gross. The shrimp on the shrimp fajitas were so overcooked they were like hard rubber. The pork in the enchiladas was...off. It tasted like it had been cooked in something sweet and was really dry. The pineapple fajitas were bland and the proteins were over cooked. Nothing was seasoned properly and it felt like more effort to eat than just leave it on the plate and be hungry. I'm not sure why this location is so drastically different than the other Cancun restaurants, but we definitely won't be back for more than drinks. read more

I've had two visits within two weeks, definitely someone else's choice, not mine. I felt the same way after both-disappointed in service, food, and restroom facilities. Chips, salsa and queso are good. The margaritas were okay but stay away from any of the flavored ones. Chalupas were good enough, but it's really hard to mess up smashed up beans, chopped lettuce, tomato and cheese. On each visit someone at our table had to send food back to the kitchen. I was overcharged on second (and final visit). I think my friend likes the local factor and the fact that they can accommodate big groups. read more

Fast, friendly service. Delicious fajitas and margaritas! It is my go to for Mexican food while in Saline.

Holy Horchata! I think I found it... my Mexican food heaven in MIchigan. Walking in, the bright decor was inviting. Passed TV screens with Telemundo on one, and Soccer game on the other, in their small bar area. Small sign at the host stand lists the specials and happy hour. We were visiting for lunch, after hearing about Cancun from my boss. I ordered a horchata and Dad had the lunch margarita. Mine was a super tanker - 1 liter glass of pure heaven on a hot tongue - it came out to $3.99. Dad's was super lime flavored, served in a champagne glass. Lunch arrived quickly and was well done. Flavors were perfect and portions were substantial for lunch specials. I had special #1 and dad had speedy gonzales lunch. The sauce on my chile relleno was tasty but boarded on being too salty. Very smoky flavor and not too hot. Thick egg wash batter that could have been done just a little bit more but it was still good. Typing this review makes me want to go back, now, to try something else. Is it lunch time yet? read more

The number of consistent eating options is dwindling in Saline. More than a few places have restricted / varying hours of operation. Cancun may be experiencing similarly - it did seem they were a little short-staffed. Service was great though I ordered the Cancun burrito with chicken. They do a quality job, but the chicken breast doesn't taste like it's cooked-to-order. The same can be said about some of the other ingredients and side dishes. The Spanish rice was on the drier-side unfortunately. Not the biggest deal. A tasty lunch with leftovers read more

Coworkers and I randomly picked this Mexican restaurant for today's lunch spot out of the three in the immediate area, and I am so glad we did. We all had a stellar experience at Cancun Mexican Grill. The service is authentic, super friendly and accommodating; I'd go back for that alone, but the food was something to write home about. (Yes, I texted my mom the attached pic before we went back to work). Chips were warm and crispy. Salsa tasted fresh without a hint of being inside of a can. I added the habanero hot sauce found on the table to add a little kick, and it certainly took it to a whole new level. I ordered chicken fajitas, and I've had not-so-great fajitas in my day, and I've had decent ones. These were beyond decent, my friends. The lunch fajitas were priced right, but that wasn't even the best part in this inflation-strapped world: the simple, yet oh so delicious FRESH, real-deal, homemade flour tortillas served alongside made these chicken fajitas bump up from "above average" to "outstanding!" I highly recommend checking this place out! read more

I must have passed this place 50 time and always wondered what is inside. It's not often that you find decent Mexican food in a small town. When I finally found the time to stop I was pleasantly surprised to find what was inside. The restaurant is brightly decorated inside giving it an almost tacky feel. Drinks are good and not very expensive (margarita specials are fantastic), and the food was some of the most flavorful that I found outside of Detroit's Mexican Town. My carnitas were very good, tender and with a mild flavor. They had some of the best beans and rice that I'm tasted. I'm looking forward to going here again and trying other tasty treats. read more

I had a wonderful time there. I was with a big group, and the service was still incredible, and the food came out really quickly! In all fairness, we live in Phoenix and love authentic Mexican food. While in the area to visit family, we stopped in for lunch. Our server wasn't attentive and my husband's fajitas left a lot to be desired (almost no seasoning). However, my tamale was pretty good. When our server asked how everything was, my husband told him the fajitas had no flavor; unfortunately, the server showed zero concern and just brought the bill. It came across as a, "you don't like the food so pay and leave." Fortunately, the lady who seemed to be running the place stopped by our table as she made her rounds. She went above and beyond to make things right with my husband's meal, and is the only reason I'm not giving one star. read more

Hey food freaks! My buddy JP and I stopped into this Mexican place in Saline after a few hours of shop cleanup and beer because I was getting grumpy and he was getting thirsty! I'd been here one other time a couple years ago, and the place hasn't changed much since then. The decor is a touch gaudy, as another reviewer noted, but honestly, I think of it as festive. All kinds of brightly colored hand-painted tables and chairs, and walls. The staff were plentiful and they were on their game, busy and quick. Our waiter was delivering chips and salsa and taking our drink order as we sat down, and handled it in stride when my tipsy pal started blabbing nonsense. (How do servers not punch him out???) But I have to give JP some credit: he recommended the shrimp cocktail, but I was hesitant. I mean, a ring of 8 frozen shrimp with a soufflé cup of ketchup and horseradish? No thanks. I like shrimp but I opted for the super chimichanga plate. Wow! First of all, credit due to JP- the shrimp cocktail was awesome! Served in what must've been a 24oz glass goblet, there was no cheap sauce in sight! This was more like a big bowl of spicy gazpacho, PACKED with shrimps and fresh chopped vegetables!! I will order that next time, especially if it's hot out! While I was not blown away by the appearance of my chimichanga plate, the food was good. Better than most, one chicken and one beef, these things had real flavor! No ground mystery meat, rich molé-like sauce on the beef, and well spiced shredded chicken. And the queso... ahhh, the queso, mmmmm... I could go on and on, but why? You get the drift. Go try this place, bring a few friends, and sample the goods here. Maybe I'll see you in there. Hey, say hi if you see me, and I'll buy you a Modelo read more

The food was good but it needed to be hotter (temp). We got there when they first opened so they weren't busy, no reason why the food didn't come out super hot. With that said we will probably still go back read more

Been to Cancun several times the food is always good and the service is excellent. Try one of their margaritas.

The food was ok. The tables had no gum underneath them. Make sure that you repeat yourself many times when ordering both drinks and food. DONT ask for dr. Pepper or Coke because the waitress will suggest drinks that are completely different and she or he will get mixed up on your order. Also make sure to bring your own chips when ordering nachos because there is never enough to finish your meal with. Speaking of chips they limited 5 people to 2 small baskets of chips, even when when ordering queso. The hamburgers both came with cheese on them. This isn't the waitresss' fault because I watched her write it down with no cheese when ordering. The bill took 8 and a half years to come. Make sure to ask for the bill before ordering. ( lol ) Please keep in mind that a 10 year old wrote this so please don't be mean to my mom. read more

Had dinner with Mom here. Loved the salsa but had to ask for the hot salsa to spice it up a little, but be careful how much you mix in, it's really hot. Ordered the ala carte pulled pork chimichanga with cheese sauce. It was packed full of meat. Would have liked some veggies in it. But I pretty much ate it with nacho chips so it was still really good. I also ordered a shrimp enchilada with white sauce. It was yummy! I definitely will eat here again. read more

Authentic Mexican food! I love this place, the atmosphere, chips and salsa, to the service.

Great place, vibe, AWESOME salsa & chips...but drink plenty of water as the food...especially anything with ground beef is exceedingly salty. I got a triple salt whammy with the enchilada,  burrito,  tamale combo...all with ground beef. Next time,  I'll go for the chicken based on what others said of their dishes. read more

Saline, Michigan is not exactly known as a hotbed of Mexican cuisine but our first visit to the Cancun Mexican Grill turned out surprisingly good. Housed in an older building a chip shot off busy Michigan Ave., Cancun started us out with what they called their mid-sized 'Ritas. These were generous to say the least and very flavorful and quite potent to start off a Friday evening on the right note. While munching on chips & salsa and previewing the menu, I zeroed in on the Enchiladas Rancheras as my better half picked the Fish Tacos. My two cheese enchiladas were presented in a way I'd never had or seen before....topped with pork cooked w/ tomatoes, onions and bell peppers and smothered w/ enchilada sauce and served w/ lettuce, Guac, sour cream and tomatoes. My plate was 'right there' with a very cool and enjoyable mix of flavors. Because this dish did not include the obligatory rice and beans, I had to order them a la carte. For some unknown reason, my wife's order of Fish Tacos was delayed. Without explanation, it finally arrived at our table 5 minutes after mine had been delivered. I chalked it up to the Friday night rush of diners doing Cancun but it was clearly a miss. Overall, a pretty satisfying experience. Quatro estrellas for the 'Cun. read more

Yeah. No. Came in. Was seated at a table that wasn't clean. Moved myself to a new seat. The chips and salsa came. Chips are terrible. Look up and see a cobweb above me. Waiter is too busy talking with other workers at the bar. I left. No need to do that again. read more

Really cute, colorful decor lends a party atmosphere. We sat down to chips and salsa. This would be a nice amount of heat for someone who doesn't like *really* spicy salsa. Hubby got a beef chimichanga. I got the Filete al Ajo, which I guess is short for Filete de Pescedo al Mojo de Ajo. Had to look that up. I think it was tilapia fillets. Came with sweated garlic on top. The reddish rice was great. (See my photo of the fish dish. Most entrees are about this size.) I do not even pretend to know anything about "authentic" Mexican cuisine. But I did note that everything tasted fresh and light. The guacamole had a very interesting flavor. I could not discern all the ingredients. I'll have to go back and try some more of it. And we *do* plan to go back. The parking lot is full for a reason. The people running the place are very pleasant. The prices are reasonable. You get enough to split the entree, if you're not a big eater, or to take some home for lunch the next day. read more

The best way to describe Cancun is train wreck. It's a small building, and I always drive by it thinking, "huh, I should go there." I finally did. It's a gross interior, it just feels dirty. The booths and tables are disgusting- they're sticky!! If a place doesn't wipe down the table after people eat at it, then I don't trust them. I order this steak burrito (can't remember the name) and was massively disappointed. The steak was incredibly spicy, which it was said to not be. It was also very dry and rubbery- two things I do not want in steak. When I asked the waitress about getting another meal, she just shrugged and walked away. That was the breaking point- I asked for the bill and got out of there. The meal was fairly expensive, which was ridiculous. I'm not going back, and I advise you not to go there either. 2/5 read more

Food is excellent, great variety of dishes and all have good taste. You get a lot for your money. They work extremely hard moving people to get them seats. UPdate 3/7/14... Had the Shrimp Fajitas and not only were they good, but the amount of shrimp versus the veggies was the highest Ratio I have ever experienced anywhere. Some places keep the shrimp to a minimum cuz they are expensive, then load you up on GP and Onion, Rice and Beans. Nope, I was loaded up on EVERYTHING. My Margarita didnt taste too great though. Slightly weak and less flavorful than I am used to. Ill stick to beer here. Service was friendly. read more

excellent service, family friendly, reasonable prices. My ground beef soft taco was terrific...surprisingly flavorful. Good salsa/chips.

Leaving 1 star because I just placed an order online, drove 12 miles to get here only to be told they can not process my order due to a website issue they are having. Fine...these things happen. However, they offered no solution. They told me I now need to contact my bank to dispute charges. The food here surprised me. For a place in backwater Michigan, the flavors where really good, and the portion sizes where massive, for what you pay. One of the best Mexican places I've been to, outside of Detroit. read more

One of the lunch spots I frequent semi-regularly. What keeps me coming back is the decent flavor and great value for your portion size. My personal favorite is their "Ishmael Special". A full order of which, is large enough to feed a St. Bernard. Simple in the amount of ingredients, but full of flavor, Mexican rice, grilled shrimp and chicken, topped with queso is truly a beautiful combination. Another positive about Cancun is they have excellent hot sauce; not your typical Tabasco sauce, the El Yucateco is one of my favorites since it's got a pure spicy flavor with no sourness. read more

Cancun Mexican Grill is a Saline gem! It's really one of only 2 places I tell out-of-towners to go to. Been there several times, and always have great service and very tasty food. Best Mexican food I've had outside of San Diego. My go-to lunch is tamales/enchiladas, but the California Burrito is my go-to dinner (SUPER tasty, full of meat, and topped with a wonderful cheese). The chips are made fresh every day (and you can tell), and they make their salsa fresh as well. Great for a meeting, a family dinner, or dining out with friends. Wait staff has always been very prompt and friendly. Our favorite waiter makes the kids order en Espanol, since we made them order in Spanish the first time we were there (and he was our waiter). Always seems to remember us, as he still makes them order in Spanish! That is a good thing, as they have all had Spanish in school. :) In short, if you're looking for some very tasty Mexican food, you're not going to find any better place in the Ann Arbor/Saline area (I've looked). And if you're a meat lover, try the California burrito! read more
