I've been to Rochester Brunch House multiple…read moretimes and have always loved it, so while we were in Ann Arbor for a concert, we thought brunch here before heading home would be the perfect way to end our weekend. Unfortunately, I couldn't have been more disappointed. First, the restaurant was unbelievably hot and muggy, which made the entire experience uncomfortable. Our host told us our table was ready, but when we got there, she still had to wipe food and crumbs off from the previous guests, leaving us to sit at a wet table. My husband ordered the brunch burger, I ordered a skillet, and we ordered cinnamon roll pancakes to share. His burger was extremely overcooked. I specifically ordered my skillet with hash browns, but it came with home fries. Normally, I wouldn't make a big deal about a simple mistake, but when I mentioned it, our server responded with, "This is how they made it," as if it was now just my problem. We would have happily waited for it to be remade correctly. The skillet itself was also disappointing. The onions were extremely undercooked and crunchy, there was so much cheese that every bite had strings of cheese stretching across the table, and the eggs I ordered over-medium were over-easy at best. Then there were the cinnamon roll pancakes... which never came. When our server brought the check, she actually asked, "No one brought the pancakes?" Who else was supposed to bring them? She was our server. We also asked for napkins FOUR separate times, and somehow she repeatedly brought us ketchup instead. We never asked for ketchup. We asked for napkins. At that point, it honestly felt like our server was completely checked out. To "make up" for the experience, she brought us a piece of cheesecake that we didn't ask for and don't even eat. After everything that had gone wrong, it felt more insulting than helpful. Between the uncomfortable atmosphere, poorly prepared food, incorrect order, missing food, and terrible service, this was one of the most disappointing brunch experiences we've had. We came in excited and left wishing we had gone anywhere else. Unfortunately, I would NOT recommend dining he

This is a small place that could honestly use a makeover. My server came over right away and gave me a menu and took my order. The menu looked good, in fact the breakfast selections really looked amazing. I decided to order the hot beef sandwich with American fries (gravy all over) and applesauce. This is one of the only places that doesn't automatically serve mashed potatoes with open faced sandwiches, and I thought I was going to miss the mashed potatoes and I was dead wrong. My meal came right out, and everything looked amazing. The beef was tender, and the gravy tasted good, it needed a little salt, but other than that, it was good. The American fries were outstanding. They were really good with gravy on top. One thing I must mention is that they serve real coke here and it tasted like canned or bottled coke, not your average terrible tasting, watered down fountain coke. It was the real deal. This is a good place to eat with great value. The menu is large enough for everyone to find something to eat and the service was good.

The restaurant is conveniently placed right next to a free 2-hour parking lot that had plenty of spaces open at 8:45am. We were promptly seated after walking in and greeted by our server. She brought us soda and coffee and then took our orders. My fiancé asked for a side of bacon to be on the rare side (flopping), but was told that the chef precooks some items, so he probably wouldn't be willing to make a fresh to order side of bacon. Our food came out really quickly, the side of French toast i ordered was delicious and a much larger size than i anticipated. My fiancé, who claims to be a "pancake connoisseur" said his Chocolate chip pancakes were amazing. The bacon fell short of expectations, but overall the meal was excellent. The prices on the menu aren't insane compared to the size and quality of most of the food items. I think a few tweaks to the aesthetics of the restaurant, and more flexibility by the chef would go a long way. It tasted like someone went to Colombia and asked them what was the bean they hated the most and then bought it by the pound and brought back to Michigan. The hash browns were not well prepared. The cook obviously never met a seasoning he liked as these potatoes tasted as they were the kind used for boiling and served to prisoners in Dublin circa. the 18th century.
