First, this is the first time I have written a review on Yelp or anywhere else. Although ours differ from other reviews about Poplin Construction, our review is what actually happened to us. On Sunday morning, Jan. 7, 2013. our 16 year old daughter discovered a soggy carpet. I happened into the room shortly after she stepped into the soggy carpet. Long story short, the cause was a leak in the hot water line that goes from the water heater on the west side of the house, to the bathroom on the eastside of the house.(Happy New Year. Right?) I went to Naughton's plumbing and was given the name of a plumber, Dean from L&B Plumbing. Dean came out and got us started on the road to recovery. His next recommendation was Poplin Construction. From the first person on the phone, Marisol, to the finish we had a good experience. It took a few months to complete the damage. But honestly, having to deal with 3 extra other companies, we could have had a totally different experience. Poplin Construction helped with the Insurance Company also. Poplin did not do all of the leg work regarding the insurance company, however Poplin assisted us where we needed help. We want to thank L&B Plumbing, Arizona Leak Detection, Expert Restoration, Tucson Leak Detection and Allstate Insurance who also helped us with the damage. It seems to us, if Poplin Construction is not a reputable company, they would not be around. But they appear, to us anyway, to be professional, caring, reliable and reasonable. As well as the other companies. So, thank you Poplin Construction and all the other people who helped us. It was a time when we thought things were not going to start off good. But from beginning to end we have no complaints from Poplin Construction or any of the companies we mentioned. Over the course of three weeks in the summer of 2022 (with an 8-day trip to Mexico in the middle) two sections of our roof blew off during separate monsoon storms. The initial damage happened in late July and right before we left for our trip USAA approved our repair, Poplin came out and we were set up for repairs on our return. Between our return from Mexico and the date the work was supposed to begin, another storm blew off a different chunk of the roof. Fortunately, the second section of damage was within the approved area of repair so we didn't have to go back to USAA. Throughout the whole thing, Poplin was very responsive and even came out and tarped the damage so our roof didn't leak through a series of storms. They were responsive and timely, which has been a refreshing thing in Tucson, given how hard it is to get people to show up when you want to give them money to work on your house. Kylie responded to my early morning text messages within a reasonable amount of time and the work was completed quickly and professionally. That was my experience, so I would definitely go back if I needed another roof repair. I'm actually surprised to see the low ratings on other reviews, as they do not reflect my experiences at all. read more

I have had NOTHING but the BEST service from Poplin Construction from start to finish! Our house flooded (90%) at 4am and Bob and his crew were there less than 3 hours later. The workers helped us get a Pod for all of our belongings, helped us pack up and carefully explained what the next steps would be. We had to move out of our home and trusted that they would take care of starting repairs. They went ABOVE AND BEYOND!! The workers were at our home before 7:30am every morning, and walked us through the process of what had to happen. Since we were living in a hotel, they worked tirelessly to get us back in our home in 3 weeks. They never seemed upset when my husband would ask question after question or ask for "extras" to be done. When we moved back in it felt like we were living in a model home. We had a question about some floor molding, called and the next day someone came out and adjusted it. It is rare to find a company that cares as much as this one does. We lost a LOT of possessions, but they gave us back our HOME. You can't put a price on that. read more

We had a fire in out home that was contained in the furnace area. I have USAA insurance (the best). Poplin construction was better then fantastic. Their workers were skilled and did great work. My wife and i had no idea what to do after the fire, but USAA and Poplin Construction laid out for us a step by step plan that put our minds at ease. Poplin does everything from rebuilding the furnace area, cleaning and o-zoning the house, cleaning all furniture, taking everything down and painting the house. They also have a subcontractor clean all our cloths and our electronics. They also had our flex ducting replaced and arranged to have new ducts installed. Mr. Poplin was also wonderful, he visited our home and spent over and hour with us going over every detail. We have his personnel cell number and he answered or returned our calls shortly thereafter. Within 2 hours after our initial call to USAA, your crew arrived on the scene to start the remediation process -- the crew worked ALL NIGHT to get the initial/critical push well underway. The quality of workmanship and professionalism was second to none -- even our neighbors commented on how diligent and personable your crew members were throughout the entire process. All things considered, we went from a potential disaster to the gold standard of reconstruction. We were extremely please with the level of professional service from Jerod who began the mitigation process, Tony and Ray who oversaw the project and provided great recommendations for vanity and top, the carpenters, painters and installers were superb! and Shane did an excellent job installing the carpet. I have dreamed of the perfect bathroom for years. I called Poplin and they sent out Daniel and Ray to give me an estimate. They listened to what I wanted and came up with some ideas I hadn't thought of. After the bathroom was gutted and put back together, not only did I have the bathroom of my dreams, I had everything I ever wanted in a bathroom. This last Monsoon season I had my roof blown off and they immediately responded to patch The roof so me and my kids didn't have water leaking in our bedroom. following the incident there roofers installed a new roof in a timely manner and there staff is extremely professional. What a great company! I had a wonderful experience with them. I had ceiling fans installed in all rooms and carpet in all bedrooms. I also had the front door frame coming off the house. They fixed the door frame, installed the fans and carpet and did drywall repairs in a very timely manner. They were fast, kind and professional. When they left my house looked great. I was referred to Poplin Construction by my insurance company. The insurance company wouldn't pay for the repairs but I went ahead anyway. They did a great job repairing water damage to the ceiling of my kitchen and the wall and ceiling in the bathroom. They also replaced the lighting and medicine cabinet in the bathroom for me. Had damage from a water leak that occurred while we were on vacation. Once the abatement work was complete, Poplin got to work addressing all the repairs including plumbing, insulation, drywall, painting and flooring. Poplin Construction did a restoration job at my home in April and I was very impressed by their promptness and cleanliness of our home. The kept to their timeline and informed us daily. The estimator Danny walked property before and after job was done and worked closely with our insurance adjuster. Had a water pipe break in the plumbing wall between our bathrooms, completely ruining both bathrooms. Poplin did a wonderful job in restoring our bathrooms.
