Hi folks, Blue Mountain Roofing has completed the roof, as per their evaluation. The job has been inspected by Joey and Monte. I told them my concerns on side things I would like fixed due to construction, not directly having to do with the roof. This is my first big project I did by myself, and I did it without consult. Next time I wouldn't pay someone the final payment, which I did, until I am sure that all is well. My adult son John will do a final inspection when he is in Tucson in December or January, and he will be more knowledgeable than me. He and Blue Mountain Roofing can make any needed decision then. Beware! Blue Mountain Roofing was very attentive - until I wrote that final check. I did my due diligence and got estimates from three roofing companies that had decent reviews. They all had the same shingle warranty and guarantee on their work and because Blue Mountain was slightly less expensive, I chose them. Unfortunately, I was going out of town the very day they completed my roof so I had only a cursory look at my new roof and the shingles were the right color and seemed to look OK. Upon returning home, I realized that the roof turbines were making a deafening racket when the wind picked up. I got up on my roof and realized that the turbines had been replaced very askew which of course meant they did not spin evenly if at all. While up on the roof, I also noticed that the electrical outlet box next to my cooler was just lying there not securely attached to the roof. Also, when they put the cooler back in place, the water sources were not tightened and in a matter of only a few weeks, I had calcification already built up on my new brown shingles. I called the gentleman I had dealt with from the beginning and left a short voicemail explaining that I had some concerns. That phone call was never returned. After a few days, I called again and actually spoke to the man who'd overseen my project. He assured me that someone would come out to take a look at the problems. That day and several more passed and no one showed up nor did I receive a phone call with an explanation. Almost five weeks passed along with more phone calls where I was assured they'd send someone out - and I was given specific days and times. Again nothing. I ended up giving up three days waiting on them. Eventually a guy I had never seen before did show up. He looked at the obviously crooked turbines and told me I needed new turbines and if I bought them, they'd put them on. Initially they wanted to use the old turbine bases so that they didn't have to lift up the newly installed shingles. That made no sense as it was the bases that were crooked. Knowing that the turbines had been up there quite a long time (without any problem I might add), I took them up on their "deal". I called to tell them that I had purchased the new turbines and was anxious to get the work done. Again nothing. Until I sent a text outlining the problems - not only with some of the hastily done work but with my disappointment regarding their lack of response to these problems. Amazingly enough, after almost five weeks, a couple of roofers showed up the very next morning. I was pleased to see them take away my old turbines with the old bases attached. I'm sorry they had to remove shingles and replace them but that would not have happened had the work been done properly from the get go. I asked that the new turbines not be painted as they had done the first time because I was buying brown turbines. Yes, the new turbines are up there though not parallel to the ground as they should be and it looks as though they've been painted. The original man who I contracted with showed up before that work was finished and told me that there was no way the electrical box could be reattached to the roof and that I'd need to hire an electrician to update the box. Huh?? But I quickly found someone to take a look at that box and in a matter of minutes, it was secured to the roof. And I was told that it's just an electrical outlet box and updating was completely unnecessary. The issue of the calcification was NOT addressed at all. Again, this whole complaint process took almost five weeks and I am not even happy with the outcome. However, I am so done with this company and will not call them for further repairs as I don't want to subject myself to anymore of their excuses or shoddy work. I'm not normally a negative review writer. I like to save my reviews for when I have something exceptional to say about a company I've done business with. But this was all so unacceptable - possibly because I'm a woman who put her faith in the supposed experts or because they knew they would not be getting any more money out of me even if the job was not up to par. If I sound angry, I am. Roofs aren't cheap. This has been a terrible experience and I would suggest you look at other roofing companies even if their estimates are a little higher. After all of this, I'm a bit skeptical about the quality of the actual roof job. I hope I don't have additional disappointments down the road. Thank you. read more

I never received a quote for my roof repair after the owner came out and inspected my roof. Big talker but no action. Wasted my time and obviously his also! Very disappointed. Im telling everyone I know not to waste their time by calling this roofer. read more

This company cheated my elderly mother 10/2022 by not doing the old roof tear-off and underlayment repairs as stated in the contract. They did a poor job of applying the new roll roofing over a 30+ year old roof and seams are already popping up. The white coat they applied was thin and watered down. They charged $14,000 to do roll roofing on a flat roof on a 1520 s.f. townhouse. I had some major hail damage and part of my roof blew off from high winds. This company went above and beyond to immediately come to my home and assess the damage. I had a substantial leak --they quickly made the temporary repair pending the insurance claim for damage. There are not enough words in the dictionary to convey my respect for this company, their work ethic, and the integrity of the owner. Look no further for a roofing company. It doesn't get any better. I hope to have them complete all roof repairs after the insurance claim is settled. read more

6/23/2023 UPDATE: Obviously, this is a very busy time for roofing companies and it is understandable that people can fall behind on their paperwork and scheduling roofing projects. I just received a call from the gentleman who came out to do the estimate on June 5. He (profusely) apologized, and explained the issues he was having. My roof didn't leak until Blue Mountain Roofing reshingled my roof! I had to call them back after a heavy rainstorm and when they finally decided to come, the supervisor said the turbine was not sealed which caused the leak. They didn't offer to repaint my ceiling that now has water damage. We had also called them back because the other turbine was set at an angle, they never fixed it because they convinced me that it was working just fine. They also didn't reseal around the the AC unit, I called them on it but don't know if it was ever done! Also, my neighbor who recently had his roof replaced by another company commented on on how crooked our shingles were because he could see our roof from the top. They also neglected to clean up all the razors and nails which were left on our roof. The work was done in a timely manner the first time but the quality of their work was very disappointing! I would NOT recommend them to anyone. read more

I hired Blue Mountain to replace my roof, based on their estimate which was slightly lower than the other 2 I got, as well as their reviews. They ended up not doing what was on the estimate and then said "I didn't need those things done". But I paid for them to be done. They ended up charging me double for something that ws on the estimate and then they charged me for again.... I had to deal with this and then garbage was left all around my home and blew into my neighbors. Their personal garbage (energy drink cans) is till hanging out that they left because it's in my bushes, that I cannot reach. The communication was horrible. They didn't show when they said they would and showed up at random times. I would NEVER have used them if I knew what a horrid experience and what a rip off this would be. Buyer beware. Go over EVERYTHING with them and don't expect quality work. I found out that the seams to my roof are not even sealed, and I have to pay someone else to fix this. I would rather pay someone else than to have to contact Blue Mountain again. The worst experience I have had in my decades of getting home repair. read more

We had a great experience with Blue Mountain. We had a leak by the skylight and I was worried about the monsoon. The owner, Mike, got back to me within a day and Monte came out the next day to check it out and give us a quote. Our house is 24 years old and we needed a new roof. They were able to schedule us in less than two weeks. The crew was great. Very respectful of us and the property. They did a great job and finished just in time. In the past 3 weeks we in Oro Valley have had almost 8" of rain...more than we get some years. We highly recommend Blue Mountain. read more

I called Blue Mountain Roofing because I was worried about my patio roof. It looked like the facia was separating from the edge of the roof and I was concerned that it might lead to bigger issues if we received any heavy amounts of rain again. Of course I expected the worse. My experience is that anytime you ask a company to send someone out to evaluate a problem it usually ends up needing a repair of some sort (even if it really doesn't). In this case I was pleasantly surprised! When Monte got up on the roof and evaluated the problem he let me know that other than a cosmetic issue it really didn't pose any immediate threat to the integrity of the structure. He advised me to give them a call within the next few years when the patio roof will be about 20 years old and the membrane that protects the roof would normally start to wear out and crack, and they would be happy to come out and take a look at it. No suggestion or pressure to do something immediately, rather an honest appraisal of the type of repair I "might" need at that point. Wow! A totally unexpected, but really wonderful outcome. This was and is a reflection of both the honesty and integrity of not only the project manager (Monty), but the company as well. It's refreshing, in this day and age, when a company and their representatives adhere to a set of standards that sets them above the norm. I would not hesitate to use or refer Blue Mountain Roofing for any future roofing needs. read more
