This is going to be part 1 of a 2 part review since I'm writing it before the roofing has started. 1) Allen was on time. This may not sound like a big deal, but from so many of the people we've dealt with in Tucson, this is a MASSIVE deal. So many are late, don't show, don't even call or anything. 2) Allen was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. He showed me exactly what was wrong with my roof, how they'd fixed it, how they'd move the AC unit and work underneath that, and pretty much everything else. 3) His estimate was exactly on point with what we were hoping it would be. That, we've found, is also rare in Tucson. 4) He then sent us the exact estimate, with all important information, by email within a few hours. 5) They have a 5 year warranty on the job. 6) I'm looking forward to seeing the finished job and writing Part 2 as I know it will be incredible. Ps. Roof Coating Specialists was referred to us by Jim at House Butler. He's a handyman and utterly amazing also. See my review on him here at Yelp! read more

We hired roof coating specialist five years ago. The did our two story flat roof home and detached garage. They gave us a 5 year guarantee. In that five years we had to call them back 6 times. Twice the came back to fix the patio ceiling. The other 4 times it was for water damage to our home.we had to replace floors, walls and celings. It cost us dearly. Each time we had to pay our $2,000 home insurance deductible. Our insurance then went up and up. RCS warranty covers the roof but not the damages to the home.so our $5,000 roof cost us over $8,000 more in damages. Now when our 5 years ended we set up a appointment for them to come out and check the roof, like they require. First day we sat and no one came. I finally text him and he said his dog had seizures so could he come the next day. Next day, again we sat waiting. I texted again and left voice mail to see where they were . 2 1/2 hours after the time window given he shows up. Ten minutes later he is done. He never went on our garage to check. He claimed he just needed to see the main roof to see it's age . Never once did he apologize for being late or for not showing the day earlier. This was the owner himself. Told him we would go with a different company this time. He replied with "Godd, we don't need you as a costumer. " Very unprofessional and very costly for us! read more

I have been a Roof Coating Specialist customer for 20 years. In addition to periodic roof coatings, they have replaced our skylights and installed a polymembrane roof. Their workmanship has always been high quality and they use quality materials. Their 5-year "leak free warranty" is one of the best in the industry. Allen, his crew, and the office personnel are all knowledgeable, professional, helpful and friendly. I trust their honesty and integrity and highly recommend Roof Coating Specialists. Paul P. This is a very professional company. Allen came out to do the estimate and his price was very fair. He didn't try to "hard sell" us on getting a new roof which I really appreciated. The guys who did the work were very thorough. They came right on time and did the work as promised. The office staff was easy to reach and relayed messages promptly to Allen and the crew. I would definitely use this company again. I also plan to recommend them to all my friends and neighbors. read more

Roof was done in 2018 and there was a five year warrantee included. Had them return in 2019 and work was done no problem. Now, 2022 with a single year of warranty left, I needed them to do some touch ups that were brought to my attention when house was recently painted. For over a month I have been promised 3 different times they would come and each time I've been ghosted. So much for upholding the warranty. Buyer beware! 4/722 Update finally got the roof looked at and repairs made. Looks good and I appreciate the warranty upheld! read more

Had our porch roof coated by Allen & Company yesterday and really pleased with the whole experience from start to finish. I recommend RCS for any coating job you need. read more

Although the owner and office staff at RCS are very pleasant, they do not back up their work. I used them to coat two different roofs over the past few years. When one roof was leaking every time it rained heavily, I called repeatedly to have them do repairs as promised under warranty. They never did. I called them many times and they would say that someone would come and look at the roof, but they would not set a fixed time or date to do so. A few times a couple of guys from the company would come and I would happen to be around when they arrived. They didn't fix anything but "inspected" it and said it needed a repair (the second time this happened, they already knew this because it had been "inspected" previously) and they'd schedule a time to come back. I was never able to get them to do that, whether we me or my tenant. Finally, after the warranty had run out, they sent me an estimate for doing the repair that they should have done under the warranty. I won't be using them again and would not recommend them. Roof Coating Specialists re-coated our roof about 5 years ago and did a great job so I called them to do it again this May (2018). This time they re-coated the roof and replaced 4 skylights. As usual, they were on-time, professional, efficient and their prices are still very reasonable. It's a pleasure to deal with these people and I highly recommend them. read more

I am so impressed by the quick response and professionalism from John at Roof Coating Specialists. They did our flat roof 2 years ago and have had no problems. I asked them to revise the home and check the roof after the heavy rains because we had concerns. They arrived in less than a day and although there were no leaks, did retouch a couple spots as a preventative measure. I am beyond happy and impressed with their service!! I found them because of all the great reviews they have, and they really deserve all the great reviews they get!! read more

Very professional and courteous. The office gal on the phone was so polite and kept me well informed. They came out and gave an estimate quickly. The job was completed and guaranteed. We had a couple minor issues and they were right there and took care of them. No questions asked and not trying to place the blame elsewhere like many companies. We will definitely use them again and I highly recommend them. Great honest people!!!! read more

I spoke with a man named Alan about a leak in my roof. He said he'd come by and look at it. We had some miscommunication. He thought I was at work, but I wound up staying at home that day. As far as I knew, he never came by. I surprised when he called later to tell me what was wrong with my roof and what it would cost. He said he had knocked on my door and when no one answered had just gone up to the roof to see what was wrong. He may have knocked on my door. That's certainly possible. But there is no way he could have walked on my roof without my seeing him from the backyard, which is where I was. No way. He never went up on my roof but lied and said he did. Obviously, I had no interest in hearing the estimate! I was absolutely disgusted and will never use this company. read more

Professional and efficient...great crew. Impressed with overall professionalism and contact...very responsive to text questions

This is the second time we have used RCS for coating our flat roofs. This time we also used them to replace our 4 bathroom skylight lenses. I knew they were original from the 80s and fogged over. Our bathrooms are so bright now it is fantastic! RCS again did a great job in coating our roofs. The first time we used them (5 years ago) the same day of initial inspection they performed emergency coating to stop a leak at no extra emergency charge. They provide a 5 year leak free warranty and are extremely well priced. The guys who did the work are well mannered and considerate. We will be calling in 5 years! read more

I LOVE THESE GUYS! Alan and Lindsey are so professional and are spot on. I not only had my own house done by them, they have done 5 out of 7 rentals I own and there's never been a problem. I have recommended them to several people and they have been very pleased as well. And yes they are busy because they are good. Just get on the list and they'll get it done. read more

Called to set up an appointment and told them that despite having a standard flat roof ours has a decorative tile edge. Get a phone call the day of the estimate (which i fortunately did not have to be present for) stating i can't get up on the roof i have the wrong ladder for tile. You didn't tell us about the tile "eyebrow". He was miffy about it too. I'll come over next week... three weeks later still no estimate. I find this heartening however because it means that business must be very good for this company. after all they just turned down work. read more

These guys are wonderful for roofs! They originally did our polymembrane system on our roof 8 years ago and then came back last year and recoated for us. Work is excellent and warranty is great! read more

These guys are the worst. They didn't realize that my roof was lathe under the shingles, then they put on unseasoned plywood, resulting in a nightmare of warped boards and broken seals. The coating they sprayed on was so thin as to be useless, had to be re-done, twice. Very sloppy work, and they left nails and junk all over the driveway. Slopped roof coating over the edges. Still dealing with warping, will probably have to replace the entire mess. Owner complained that he was spending too much on the roof, having to re-do... I found out later that I was over-charged by several thousand $$$. They never called even once to see if the roof was holding up. AVOID this company!! read more

Roof Coating Specialist did the roof on our custom built home in 2001 we continued service with their business the entire time. They are very dependable and reasonably priced especially for the continued grade A service that they provided through the years. Lindsey is the consumate professional and always pleasant and caring. With the recent heavy rains had a small leak at one of the skylights, did I mention its been 5 years since the last roofing. Made my call at 8:00 a.m. roof was repaired by 10:00 a.m. in time for the 12:30 p.m. rain that came NO LEAK!! Thank you Lance for your thorough job and your update on the status of my roof. read more

It's wonderful to be able to give a service business five stars! We've had good and bad experiences with contractors but these guys were GREAT! They did exactly what they said they would do. We got five estimates because we had a leak and the roof had been ignored for some years prior to us buying the house. We are having a pretty extensive solar system installed and we wanted to make sure it was in good shape. The estimator was on time and my husband went up with him. He pointed out a couple things two of the other companies failed to mention. Their bid was right in the middle, but it was fair and very close to one bid. They are licensed, (with a real contractors number) bonded and insured. One contractor we considered going with does a ton of work in the subdivision, but he's not licensed. If one of his workers fell off our roof, who do you think he's gonna sue? Anyway, THIS COMPANY IS COVERED AND IS EXTREMELY PROFESSIONAL! They are a family business and everything happened the way they said it would. Lindsey runs the office and is efficient and polite. They worked with our schedule and although they are extremely busy, they worked us into the schedule in a timely business. They power washed one day and the workers showed up when they said they would be here and a couple days later they made the repairs and did the coatings. Several coatings. Again they were here on time and did exactly what they said they would do. These guys only do flat roofs so they KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING! It was a great experience and they give a five year warranty. My husband let it dry a couple days and just went up there today and is very happy with all the repair work they did and the coating. I LOVE being able to give a business a five star review BUT people don't always do what they say they are going to. THESE GUYS ARE THE REAL DEAL! I'll be using them from now on! read more

I have used Roof Coating Specialist, Inc. twice now. The first time was when we had our home's roof re-coated for the first time. We got three estimates and RCS had the best price so we went with them. They did such a great job that it wasn't until now (7 1/2 years later) that we needed to get it coated again. Again, I got three estimates including RCS. When I called RCS sent someone out the same day to do an estimate and I was given a copy on the spot. The other two companies took 1-2 weeks to get an estimate to me and when they finally did one company's estimate was $500 more and the other $1300 more! In addition, the other companies only offered a two-year warranty where RCS gave me five-years. It took two mornings to prep, patch and coat my ~2500 sq. ft. roof. RCS called the Friday before they were to begin work and gave me a precise date/time they would be there. They showed up on time both days and did an excellent job. I highly recommend this locally owned roofing company. read more

We are really impressed with Roof Coating Specialist: this is clearly a very high quality company. We got three quotes for having our roof re-coated and a few areas of ponding built up and resealed. Roof Coating Specialist's quote was the lowest by a few hundred dollars, and were also really liked Joe (the owner, who came within a couple of days of us contacting them and gave us our quote on the spot). Joe has been in the business for a long time, and it is clear that he knows what he is talking about and that he also runs a very tight ship. Not surprisingly, Joe's workers arrived just when they said they would, were polite, friendly, and professional, completely cleaned up after themselves, and also did some extra work on a couple of other small problems that they found around our recently installed solar system for no additional charge. We are already noticing that the house is staying much cooler since they redid our roof coating -- we bought the house "as is" two years ago so have no idea when the roof was last coated (probably some years ago) so we expect quite some savings on our cooling bills this summer. We also have a three year guarantee on the work that was done and couldn't be happier with our choice. read more

Roof Coating Specialists is a trustworthy reliable company. We've had them service our roof for 20 years. They fixed leaks when other companies couldn't and did NOT try to talk us into a new roof. I test them. read more
