Had few issues at the start in regards to first appointment. However, Kristen reached out and worked with me to fix things right away and keep me informed. The tech came out and was very friendly and knowledgeable. He was able to diagnose the problem and fix it. They provided text message of when the tech is coming and how far away. I previously shared my feedback and frustrations with the company. Zach looked at our pool cover in early July. He was knowledgeable and indicated that because the materials needed for the repair were in stock, the job could be completed within two weeks. He said that we would receive an email with pictures of the two different repair options and a quote for the job. We never received the pictures. After numerous calls and emails to Poolsafe and some communication with Kristin, someone else came to look at the pool cover. At this point, we were calling and emailing to say that we just wanted to schedule an installation date - we didn't need the pictures or a quote - we just wanted the work done. When I posted a one-star review on Yelp, I got a call from Kristin the next day (August 9th). She assured me that we would get on track to complete the job. There were several more false starts, including the canceling of two scheduled repair dates. I finally called Keith Forester on August 29th (after the second appointment was cancelled at the last minute). Keith explained that the materials were unexpectedly out of stock. I am not sure if it was my call to Keith or my husband's calls to Kristin, but the needed materials were located in Idaho and sent by FedEx. The repair was finally done on Friday, September 2nd. Approximately two months after our initial contact with Poolsafe. I don't know how many calls, text messages and emails were exchanged in the two month period. I say "exchanged" but the reality is that it felt more like a one-way street, from us to Poolsafe (Kristin mostly). The technicians were top notch. Keith was helpful. The fact that he answered the phone when I called, listened to me, and explained the problem went a long way. Our experience is that Poolsafe provides quality service. There is appears to be a disconnect somewhere internally - communication is poor. read more

Missed appointments, months of waiting, finally came out to fix the issue. Cover worked for 10 days and stopped working. Another 1.5 weeks for tech to come out. Tech says previous tech screwed something up and now all hydraulic fluid has leaked out. Called HQ... they say they now don't have anyone qualifies to work on this system and cannot fix the issue. Have not been able to use our pool all summer because they took on work they should never have touched. read more

In the recent deluges, our pool cover was swamped and came off the track. Poolsafe was able to schedule an appointment within a few days time, confirmed the day before with a three hour time window and Evan arrived within it with a phone call to specify the exact time. After re-securing the cover the rope broke, but Evan was quick to rectify it a reasonable cost. It took 2 weeks to make an appointment. The appointment was confirmed 3 business days before scheduled date. They were to arrive between 9 & 11 am on a Monday. I had to take off of work (I have dogs) to accommodate the appointment. They called me at 9:15 am the day of the appointment to say they are not able to make it. Totally unreliable. It is unacceptable to cancel the appointment during the time they were supposed to be here. read more

Some of our pool cover system is, shall we say, "vintage" and some brand new. Michael was able to get everything back on track (literally) and operating smoothly. Knew exactly what to do and it took a couple tries to get it correct, but he perservered! Works great again. Poolsafe is welcome back anytime! Did I mention the reasonable pricing? I love my new Poolsafe fence! It was economical and is easy to remove if we have the need. I have a great view out the back yard and the Poolsafe fence doesn't obstruct it as much as I think some other products would. My only complaint, is the communication was not the best and they seem a little unorganized. They over booked and had to reschedule, which fortunately was not a problem for us. The other issue was no one answering the phone... But it all worked out. I don't think you can go wrong with this product! read more

They were quick, friendly, returned our calls quickly, and gave us the best quote. They finished the install entirely in 1 day. They had less options (colors, designs, etc) than some other companies but still had exactly what we wanted. Devin was awesome and lives pretty close to us and told us to call if we ever need him. I don't know how well he secures pools but he is a very unsafe driver. He is driving down the freeway tailgating and keeps cutting cars off. He nearly clipped our car if we had not slammed on our breaks. His driving says a lot about what type of person this is so I would never use him to secure my pool!! He may care about protecting your safety at home but he could care less about a family's safety on the road. read more

Let me start by saying Devon is a problem. He's unprofessional (um, sagging pants with boxers hanging out? Yuck.) and lacks customer service. When my husband and I bought our new house a few weeks ago one of our most important projects was having a fence put around our pool because we have a young daughter, friends with toddlers, and two dogs with bark collars that aren't supposed to be submerged in water. This small pool gate (literally 2 fences maybe 4 sections wide) has been quite the fiasco for us right from the beginning. To start, Devon came over to give us a quote and we immediately decided to book with him. We decided on the following Thursday and were given the timeframe of 1-3 but Thursday rolls around and no one shows up. My husband calls Devon to hear that he had forgotten to put our pool fence on the books because he had given a quote to someone in Mariposa that same day who had land to hunt on (I guess thinking that telling my husband this is going to make him understand because he's a hunter too (?)) and they'd needed that Thursday so because we didn't have hunting grounds, we were forgotten- strike 1. He told my husband he would come out himself on Saturday to install it for us, which earned him a little redemption but I was still pretty frustrated. Saturday comes and Devon shows up to put in our pool fence, in the rain, which seemed to go fine until the following week when my husband turned the solar on for our pool. Right where the pool fence was in the dirt, a geyser was erupting and spraying water everywhere, he'd drilled right through our solar pipes- strike 2. When he came out to assess the damage my husband wasn't home so he talked to me and told me the Saturday he installed the fence he was hoping to be done quickly because he was taking his son to some monster truck event which showed me that he rushed through our fence in order to get to his event in time- strike 3. At this point I was ready to call the company myself but my too-nice husband said he would speak to Devon directly. The solar pipes were fixed by our pool guy and the company footed the bill, which I appreciated, but Devon had told my husband he would be back either Wednesday or Thursday to fix the fence..HE NEVER SHOWED- strike 4! My husband called him, yet again, and he says he'll come by Friday to finish the stupid fence. He shows up, great, hubby tells me to stay in the house because at this point I'm PISSED, and fixes the fence and then tells my husband "well at least you know I'm good for it," uh, sorry dude, no, you're not. Today, 4 days later, I've chased my dogs FIVE times back around the pool fence which conveniently has a big gap between that and our back fence. One of the main reasons for getting this fence was to keep the dogs away from the pool, which it is NOT doing- strike 5! I'm SO beyond annoyed at this point. Now I have to monitor the fence to make sure my dogs aren't getting through or put a pile of rocks next to it to keep them out. This is ridiculous, we had way too many issues with this company, I would love to have my money back for ALL the inconveniences that were caused by the installation. read more

I have been working with another pool cover company for 10+ years and they have the WORST customer service. Pool Safe and Devon are a breath of fresh air. I placed a call to him in the morning and he arrived later that afternoon just as he said he would. He did a minor repair on my pool cover and was very knowledgeable and informative as well as professional and helpful. One thing that was very apparent is that Devin is very fair and honest. He did not try to sell me any sort of unnecessary service nor did he overcharge for the service he provided. In fact, he was more than reasonable. Devin's design help saved us from costly reconstruction. We have a raised faux rock wall that was elevated and which other companies said would have to be removed. Devin designed and installed a hanging rail system that works great! The cover and bench were installed on time and with great attention to detail. All done at the exact cost quoted. Another year of keeping our visiting grandchildren safe while they enjoyed the backyard in sunny Marin County. Devin and his team installed our elegant fence almost 4 years ago and because our children visit us only once a year for a few weeks, we are in need of this sturdy protection intermittently. Not a problem because of the incredible and reliable service that Poolsafe provides to help two grandparents put up and dismantle the fence. We could do it, but it's part of this company's grand delivery of service and prompt attention. With them coming by once a year, they always double check the security of the fence.
