I had one issue with the frankly crappy reassembly of my captain's bed. When the movers left, the bed was bowed, drawers would not close completely and the slats were falling out or not fitting in at all. I reported the problem to Serena and it was corrected promptly. A crew came and reassembled the bed to eliminate the problems. Finally, Serena is the best. She is responsive, knowledgeable, friendly and very easy to work with. I've moved a lot in the past 5 years and typically a moving company will low ball the estimate and tack on hundreds of dollars at the end for "unforeseen obstacles" even though I've always been very upfront about the items and the moving situation. Let me start this review by saying, buyer beware. My move was scheduled well in advance. The team was 3 people, however they showed up with no truck and the truck/driver was separate in an Uhaul and 30 minutes late. The "team" was made up of what seemed like 3 young rag tag guys who were looking for extra money and not very experienced as movers. They didn't have any tools, they barely had any supplies (wrap/blankets/etc). When I asked if they could take apart the bunk bed, they said they didn't have experience doing that. Which is odd because it was just some screws and a hex key. They didn't tape protection on any of the walls, nor did they put anything down on the carpets. Anyway, the truck that came was smaller than requested so they only moved half my stuff. The lady driving played on her phone the whole time and didn't move a single thing. The move was estimated to take 7 hours. They were "done" in 6 so I had to schedule a follow up move which was days later. Keep in mind this was only for half my stuff. I was back and forth moving stuff with my truck and my guess is when I left they were just sitting around. The stuff they did move to the new house was randomly placed everywhere in my house with little regard to where things went. For the follow up move, I received a call that they would be there at 1:30. At 2p I called the lead and asked where he was. He said "oh Bellhop should have called you, they said to wait so I am on the way now and will be there in 2 hours". After being 3 hours late the 2 guys who showed up did work much harder than the first team but I was left moving stuff upstairs from the garage after they were "done". I also have to put everything back together. If you need help lifting stuff, maybe this company is good for that. If you're looking for a "moving company", choose someone else.

I worked with a different moving company 2 years ago that left me scarred for life with how rude and unprofessional they were. I ended up having to finish the job myself (moving my giant couch up four flights of stairs), so when I knew I was moving again, I did my due diligence and sought out a few quotes. Another company quoted me almost $800 and required a 3 hour minimum for the job!! $800 seemed steep and I knew the job wouldn't take that long... Along came Bookstore Movers who quoted me a reasonable $470 minimum for two hours of work and a maximum of $680 for 3.5 hours of work (price breakdown: $140 per hour with 2 hour min. plus a $190 truck fee). I received a quote within a few hours of requesting it. There was no deposit required and the date was booked. I received detailed emails leading up to the move about FAQs, tips for a seamless move, and the names of my crew including contact info for the crew lead. Abdul (crew lead), Niiwayo "Y.O", and Milly were SO fast and friendly. They wrapped every single item with care in drop cloths and got to moving immediately. Despite the 90 degree heat and a total of five flights of stairs, the job was finished in 2 hours. I was SO impressed. I was so traumatized by my last move that I literally had to walk away while they moved the couch in but before I knew it, I got a text from my boyfriend telling me they had fit it through the door and our living room was all set up. I was so relieved and happy to work with them. If and when we move again, (hopefully not anytime soon, lol), I will 100% be contacting Bookstore Movers... and you should too!

Their price was fair and everyone worked extremely hard. I would have taken weeks to complete what they did in two days. Best of all they stayed to the quote price they gave a minimum and a maximum and came up in the middle! The only words of caution I would give to you are to expect a staff with only one or two native English speakers . The other guys are working extremely hard to please and take feedback very well, though. you may need to be clear and demonstrate or write out how you would like the box labeled for them. I felt like they did their best to respect our home, not tracking too much dirt. They also ensured that they missed nothing in our previous home packing even the tiniest of things. When they ran out of packing supplies, they called their supervisor who came by with more boxes. We paid additional to have our treadmill moved, and that wentoff flawlessly. They built all furniture that was taken apart, and I can't think of any damage we found. I would recommend treasure moving to anyone I knew. The owner called me and made sure I understood the pricing and was comfortable with the work being done at my home.
