billiards pool tables
Betty D.

Came here on a Sunday evening and it is pretty quiet and not packed. It's pretty empty which is great if you are looking for a quiet Sunday afternoon and evening. They have lots of pool tables you can use for free which means you can come with a group of friends and play pool. They have a large bar. Their chairs do have rips on them and they look old.

$5 All day specials!

My friend and I just wanted a couple of drinks around 10:00, so we decided to see what our local (at the time) options were. As we were walking, I spotted a bar that had green decor on the outside, so it caught my attention, of course. From outside we could see a lot of pool tables inside, and when we got close we heard some appealing music. We decided to stop in and were amazed at how large it is! To the right, there's a door that goes to a rather spacious outdoor area which must be awesome during the day or a peak summer night. The bar is rather large, and there are plenty of high tables near it if it happens to be full. The pool tables are abundant, but I don't know whether they're free or if you have to pay for them. The music was a mix of top 40 and some Spanish tunes. Anyways, a pair of seats freed up just as we approached, so we sat down and immediately got taken care of. The environment was VERY "bar"... the bar seats all had tears in them, and there was beer everywhere hahaha. It was clean though. They have quite an abundant menu of $5 all day specials, which are great! Some of the choices are Malibu, Johnny Red, Jack Honey and Captain Morgan. These specials seem to be on top of the happy hour they already have which exists until 7:00 PM. We got a few drinks... they weren't the strongest ones that I have had, but they were decent. We finished and we were on our merry way. The bartenders were all very nice too!

Round 2.

Great place and maybe one of two places in the Wheaton Aspen Silver Spring area to play pool. Drinks are decent. I can't speak for food but definitely a dive + pool hall vibe and a great place to hangout if you just want to drink, with or without playing pool.

This place is the worst! Almost no beer selection (miller light and bud on tap) and weird crowd. I do not suggest going here...ever.

The service was great with my host being very friendly. The vibe of the restaurant also was one that should be highlighted with TVs all around a very spacious spot and everyone in there was very friendly and talking to each other about the games that were going on. The food was the only thing that didn't stand out to me it was stereotypical bar food but there was many Hispanic options but I went the simple chicken tender and fries route so that very well could be on me.

I've been to many bars in the past 20 years, but mostly in my 20's. I'll admit in most recent years, I'm not a big bar person. When I lived in Wheaton (2017-2020), I could walk to several bars, which I'd give 4-stars to including Legends pool hall and a couple of Spanish bars. Limerick Pub is decent just for the drinks, but I had some complaints with them, which led to my 3-star review. Unplugged didn't hit the mark with me. It's dark & crowded on the Thursday night we were in there. Getting the drink & paying was challenging. I'll give credit for their outside area to get some fresh air.

BarBerrys Bar & Lounge - Garnachas

We arrived around 6pm for dinner & drinks and there was only one other patron when we arrived, but since the place is open til 2 am I suspect it starts hopping later on. There were a few tables of guests by the time we left. They have a bunch of pool tables so will need to come to play pool sometime. Last night we just ate and drank. We started with a couple of strawberry margaritas, they were quite nice. Good level of sweet for me (I like em sweet!) and I was a little tipsy but not drunk after one. We ordered the garnachas and the arroz con mariscos to share for our meal. Everything was good but my favorite was the garnachas; stewed beef on a thick corn tortilla with a sprinkling of queso blanco, salsa and some cabbage garnish to put on top. Very flavorful, not at all spicy, and a nice alternative to nachos. The beef was similar to what you'd get in a birria taco but without the consomme on the side. The arroz con mariscos was also very good and was a huge portion; despite us sharing it we had over half of it left so will be enjoying it again tonight. The rice itself has good flavor and the seafood was cooked properly, not overcooked. There were some mussels, a lot of shrimp, some squid I think, honestly I can't remember exactly... I blame the margarita. I would have liked to have a drink menu as I think there was a little bit of language barrier with our server. We kind of understood each other, but not fully and I don't think she understood when I asked if there was a cocktail menu which is why I just asked directly about margaritas, to which I was informed there were lemon and strawberry. They do have a full bar and can probably make a huge variety of drinks, if you speak Spanish you might have more luck. There were a lot of other items on the menu that sounded good, so we'll likely be back. Honestly my only quibble is there was an automatic 15% service charge, it wasn't clear if that is a gratuity or one of those new extra service fees that some restaurants add. I didn't see any mention on the menu (which I didn't have in hand by the time the bill came to confirm one way or the other) and honestly I didn't have a lot of confidence in being able to ask the server whether that charge is for gratuity or not with our language incompatibility, so we added extra gratuity just to make sure since we normally tip 20% anyway. I don't want to stiff the staff, but I would also like to be informed up front if there is a service charge or automatic gratuity. I'm dinging a star just for that bit of ambiguity.

The lady who works…read moreat the front was friendly, attentive, and provided great customer service holding my mom's bag at the shelf in the front and offering to put my coat up for a coat check which was free of charge. She helped with the options for the game load cards, since it had been many years since the last time I had came here. It was nice to see a new reservation area and some fresh games. Now some of the games such as the racing games might move a little fast and some like the slot machine and the 4 way pong and Pacman games are not explained the best and can be confusing, while the basketball, skee-ball, and some of the shooter games are a bit more consistent offering amazing, fun, trilling, and exciting gameplay. Other games like the Ghostbusters and the UFC game right in the front are total letdowns. The axe throwing is apart of the fad with ax throwing and thank goodness the axes are plastic but the rubber board is hard to get the plastic axes to stick, but with proper technique it does work. I was excited with some of the new games and some of the old reliable ones in the arcade. DTSS Ellsworth Place had an adorable small independent arcade with Dance Dance Revolution and basketball game in it back in the day on a lower level, so it is great that D&B opened up almost around a decade ago to provide an arcade in a mall that was truly lacking and desperate to be brought back to relevancy. The restaurant food had improved a bit since the last time I was here pre-COVID, and the service was friendly but a bit slow and erratic at times certainly have to pack your patience, that is a running theme with Dave & Busters with the slow restaurant and bar. The place was clean and had hand sanitized wipes and clean tables throughout parts of the arcade which was splendid. Nobody with class and decorum want sticky tables with crumbs and liquid spills on them, so nice with having the tables and games clean and wiped down and floor vacuumed, big kudos! The patrons themselves can be an issue. Security had to inform a father with a kid that the dad let him climb one of the arcade machines standing on it to have the kid get off from the machine. This was dangerous and idiotic. Someone had a dog with a diaper on with a leash roaming around here trying to sniff people. That also was a poor decision even for an emotional support animal, all of the overstimulation and loud noise and tons of kids an adults, it just meant no sense to bring fido to the arcade. Why do people insist bringing these dogs everywhere these days and lack respect for boundaries especially with other human beings. It is if they have more respect for the dogs than the other patrons and not even paying attention and keeping up with the dog going around to other people there. The kids should also not be playing with balls in the actual restaurant/bar. That is the problem with the poor parenting and undisciplined children having a lot out here these days. I want the location to better enforce rules and regulations, however it has improved a great deal from its past which is nice!
