I've been to many bars in the past 20 years, but mostly in my 20's. I'll admit in most recent years, I'm not a big bar person. When I lived in Wheaton (2017-2020), I could walk to several bars, which I'd give 4-stars to including Legends pool hall and a couple of Spanish bars. Limerick Pub is decent just for the drinks, but I had some complaints with them, which led to my 3-star review. Unplugged didn't hit the mark with me. It's dark & crowded on the Thursday night we were in there. Getting the drink & paying was challenging. I'll give credit for their outside area to get some fresh air.

Multiple people have told me to try the pizza there, but I had just eaten so I was just focusing on drinks for a while. After singing some songs I worked up an appetite and decided to get a plain cheese pizza. It came and I liked the sauce and cheese, but the crust was really bland and cardboardy to me. Now I can't help but wonder if this was because it was the small personal one, which is the only round one, because the bigger sizes are square. Perhaps it's made differently, but I would honestly not recommend this pizza to anyone. I would be eager to try all the food on the menu, and I can definitely recommend the drinks. But not this pizza. It's a great bar and restaurant otherwise!

Hubs and I came here for our weekly date night last night, as it's an easy walk from our new home…read moreand it's always a treat to visit a bar without needing a designated driver. We arrived around 6pm for dinner & drinks and there was only one other patron when we arrived, but since the place is open til 2 am I suspect it starts hopping later on. There were a few tables of guests by the time we left. They have a bunch of pool tables so will need to come to play pool sometime. Last night we just ate and drank. We started with a couple of strawberry margaritas, they were quite nice. Good level of sweet for me (I like em sweet!) and I was a little tipsy but not drunk after one. We ordered the garnachas and the arroz con mariscos to share for our meal. Everything was good but my favorite was the garnachas; stewed beef on a thick corn tortilla with a sprinkling of queso blanco, salsa and some cabbage garnish to put on top. Very flavorful, not at all spicy, and a nice alternative to nachos. The beef was similar to what you'd get in a birria taco but without the consomme on the side. The arroz con mariscos was also very good and was a huge portion; despite us sharing it we had over half of it left so will be enjoying it again tonight. The rice itself has good flavor and the seafood was cooked properly, not overcooked. There were some mussels, a lot of shrimp, some squid I think, honestly I can't remember exactly... I blame the margarita. I would have liked to have a drink menu as I think there was a little bit of language barrier with our server. We kind of understood each other, but not fully and I don't think she understood when I asked if there was a cocktail menu which is why I just asked directly about margaritas, to which I was informed there were lemon and strawberry. They do have a full bar and can probably make a huge variety of drinks, if you speak Spanish you might have more luck. There were a lot of other items on the menu that sounded good, so we'll likely be back. Honestly my only quibble is there was an automatic 15% service charge, it wasn't clear if that is a gratuity or one of those new extra service fees that some restaurants add. I didn't see any mention on the menu (which I didn't have in hand by the time the bill came to confirm one way or the other) and honestly I didn't have a lot of confidence in being able to ask the server whether that charge is for gratuity or not with our language incompatibility, so we added extra gratuity just to make sure since we normally tip 20% anyway. I don't want to stiff the staff, but I would also like to be informed up front if there is a service charge or automatic gratuity. I'm dinging a star just for that bit of ambiguity.

We altered the mushroom special with half sausage. The three cheeses and the caramelized onions with balsamic made for a delicious pizza! The waitstaff was great - checked in frequently and even teased us with humor when we requested a box to take home what we didn't finish. I really enjoyed the atmosphere- it truly felt like a neighborhood pub, and it was great to see the variety of ages of the patrons enjoying their meals. We will definitely return for another meal. My only suggestion is the beer selections should be clearer on the menu.

I ordered a Lychee Mojito, which had a lovely touch of sweetness. I didn't realize that alcohol was bitter, so, to someone who really abhors the taste of bitter, this still wasn't my cup of tea. Catherine, the female bartender, took our order. Brandon, the male bartender, definitely deserves a raise! When we asked for another cup to split the drink, he split the drink for us and added two more lychees! When he saw that I wasn't fond of the bitterness of it, he also tried making me several sweeter drinks to cut out the bitterness.
