We used Pool Care Solutions for 4 years before recently switching. At best their service was "Meh" but I never bothered looking for better options. The last straw was an invoice for over $700 to do a minor repair. When I pushed back a little bit, I got an email from a VP at the company that basically said I should get the part myself. Our neighbor recommended a smaller company and we are SO much happier. The monthly cost went down by over 10%, our pool looks cleaner, and the minor repair was completed for $200. This company may be good for commercial customers, but there are much better options for homeowners. read more

How is this company still in business?! We had them service my aunts house in PS and they barely did the basics. The employee was slow and eventually left without treating the water. He literally skimmed the pool and forgot or was too lazy to dump the pool filter. Horrible. read more

Bottom line up front: the service doesn't match the price. Keep scrolling. Inconsistent service at a premium price. For $225/month, I expected professionalism and reliability. Instead, service is hit-or-miss, and you'll need to monitor everything yourself. Service techs are quite nice, but inadequately trained and not supervised for consistency and quality. Technicians far too often use my pump and filter to clean the pool, then charge $85 to clean the filter--despite their service list saying they use their own equipment. When substitute techs show up, they often say they don't know what they're supposed to do (coming from commercial side to fill-in on residential). Sounds like a management issue and not properly preparing or briefing their staff. I've called the service manager several times, but only get platitudes and excuses. Bottom line: the service doesn't match the price. Keep scrolling. read more

They charge a $150 service charge. They were not able to use the part that I purchased online. The technician was here for 10 minutes. I was still charged $150 for no work. After being threatened with a lien against my property I had to pay $75. I will never call the people again. read more

I can't honestly recommend PCS. We were with them for years and there were always issues. To their credit they always responded to the issues but seldom did their communication with their guys amount to great service. Received dozens of estimates for services that were not necessarily needed. Neglected aspects of our property that they contracted to maintain. They are a larger outfit so we went with more personal service from a new smaller company. Get other bids read more

Please see picture of damages caused by the most recent stupidity by them . This is after there tech leaving a water hose in pool . Flooding the complete back patio , damage to interior walls . So incredibly disappointed with this company. We have been their client since April 2017 and saw them as the Gold Standard of Pool Servicing. We had a great relationship with our various pool guys over the years. And we were always happy with the service provided by Kiki and especially Fernando. However, several months ago we noticed the pool was looking greenish on a regular basis. We were also noticing a yellow powdery substance on the walls and steps regularly. I reported these issues multiple times and were told it was due to the Palm tree flowers. Then, we started noticing the pool wasn't looking clean on days that the pool guy was supposed to show up. So we started checking the cameras and discovered that on multiple occasions nobody showed up to service the pool. Again, I wrote and called to complain and never really got a straight answer or a solid solution. Finally, they didn't show up again, the fourth time we noticed it, and I was done. I fired them. I was tired of paying them to NOT show up. And I was getting concerned that the pool was suffering. Coincidentally, Fernando left the company, as did our 2 longest standing pool guys. And the service simply tanked! Something appears to be going on at this coming and it doesn't seem to be good. Thankfully, we hired a new pool servicing company and discovered a number of issues. We were told by the owner of the new firm that our filters appeared to not have been cleaned in months. And that appears to have been the reason the algae problem started (that yellow powdery stuff and the greenish color in the pool I spoke of earlier). Also, we have been told that the salt system hadn't been used in months. And that made no sense to me, although I remember seeing the most recent pool guy pouring salt into the pool manually and wondered why he was doing that. Strange! Overall, the new company told us that it looked like to then that our pool had been neglected for months. And that did not surprise me at all. On a sidenote, when I fired Pool Care Solutions, I called and left a voicemail as well as sending them an email. I never heard back from anyone. No apology. No attempt to save the 4+ year relationship. Nothing. Clearly they didn't even want to try to save the relationship. That was the clincher for me. Such a sad story about the decline (in our eyes) of a once really great company. If you are currently using this company, I highly suggest you check your property cameras if you have them to make sure that they are actually showing up. The more times they don't show up and don't properly service the pool the more likely they will be complications with the equipment. We are dealing with that issue now. read more

Asked Pool Care Solutions to trouble shoot some issues we were having with our pool. Rick showed up right away, walked us through the issue's and had it all fixed within the week. He was professional, informative and left the pool equipment area much better than he found it. He even cleaned up and sorted out a mess of wires and parts left by a different company. read more

This company is insanely unprofessional. They would not even show up. And if they did, they would just skim the pool and that's it. They wouldn't scrub the sides or vacuum. Much less check the chemicals of the pool that was rapidly filling with algae and turning green. When they finally "fixed" it they shocked it and then let it go to crap again less than two weeks later. They never took responsibility and constantly blamed it on the weather. Yet no one else's pools were turning green. They swore up and down they were doing everything they were paid to do. They doubled down on their incompetence. So they either completley dropped the ball or they tried and couldn't do the job. Either way it's crap. I've never seen a company so unwilling to do what they're paid to do much less apologize for their complete neglect and incompetence. Avoid at all costs. read more

We have been using Pool Care Solutions for over 6 years in Palm Springs and now I'm Rancho Mirage. They are customer centric and provide outstanding service Recently we moved to The Springs of Rancho Mirage. The pool was built in the 1980s and desperate for a major remodel. I called Chris to see if they handled pool remodels. They do. They transformed our pool from an eyesore to a beautiful new and modern centerpiece. We removed all the old gunite, brought the drainage system up to code, new lights, new remote capabilities added waterfall and pebble tech. The best part of the experience was Chris and his staff. Chris was always responsive calling within minutes to answer my questions. He provided advice and guidance as need resulting in the exact design we had imagined. Owner of Pool Care Solutions, Chris, seems more concerned with getting funds for non-performed services than he is in caring for pools. Several months of dealing with black algae, lack of cleaning, and cloudy pool and stream water led our complex to find another company. Now Chris is threatening to lien the property over non-payment for ZERO service. I personally witnessed his worker bring the vacuum to the pool on several occasions but not use it. Chris told us we needed a new pump for one of our spas. The new company came in and quickly fixed the existing pump for about 1/5 of the quote for a new pump. Think hard before trusting this company with your pools and spas. Older reviews are misleading as this company used to be owned by someone else. read more

My experience with Pool Care Solutions has proven Chris to not have integrity nor professionalism. I have wasted thousands of dollars with this company on two pools they were servicing. To save time, I will highlight factual experiences. My pool was acid washed and the glass tiles were to be sealed. The tiles were not sealed, Chris never has replied to my emails. My Spa was green last week. An occurrence that happens every couple months. No reply. A two year old Pentair pump replaced with an incorrect pump. No reply. While I pay to have both pools vacuumed twice a week, security cameras prove that seldom happened. Some service calls averaging seven minutes. I have repeatedly asked to have my flake of a pool man replaced. No reply. Two months ago, Pool Care billing was hacked. I was the victim of significant fraudulent charges. I needed to hire an online security company to protect my data. A $750 problem. Not a word from Pool Care. One of the pools, that was acid washed two months ago ( to remove green slime ) has green slime again. In short, I have been soaked for thousands of dollars by the worst pool company you could ever find. Do not believe a word you might hear from Chris. It will not be the truth. read more

After 15 years with the same pool guy (who wasn't doing much) we switched to PCS. Our pool has never looked better. In fact, we didn't even know how good our pool could look. I made an appointment for a review of our pool needs and to get a quote for ongoing service. The day of that appointment, they called to cancel and to reschedule. We rescheduled for a three hour span today. The three hours have now passed and no call and no show. This has been a giant waste of our time. Before covid they were not bad, had 2 decent hardworking guys attending to our pool who knew their stuff, since then no more and company a rip off...in more than 1 way and will leave at that..repairs get reported but go weeks unattended, pool temp never what is supp to be, worse some new guy in last few years will either show up before 7 30 yapping loud in his cell disturbing everyone, and if reported will show up later still yapping on phone so no idea how he gets job done as it's a hand held cell; tiles always dirty, things broken and interestingly enough repeated loss of same equipment has occurred, just since covid...pool rep very rude and appears to not care how he does job since no boss with him...disturbing is he often comes in a truck not belonging to the company, the end... read more

Kiki called back and Set up an appointment for 12/6 12/6 - No show, no call, no NOTHING 12/7 - 10:15 am - Left a voicemail for Chris. Kiki called back and made some lame excuse about the weather. Said they would come today or Monday. I said Monday wouldn't work so she told me she would check with Chris about coming today and call back with the time. 12/7 - 3:30 pm - No call back, so I called and left another message for Chris. It is now 6:00 and I am still waiting for the phone to ring. Good way to downgrade your Yelp rating anad NOT obtain new business. read more

The technician just left after assessing the issue I was having with the pool heater. The tech did a great job at explaining where the pain points are, which lead up to the resolution, unfortunately for me, the heater needs to be replaced. Since there was no (NONE) sales pressure and no invoice for the free estimate, it is hard not to believe everything this professional is telling me. Per my request, PCS will send me a quote for a new heater to review. Thank you PCS and Chris for answering my Yelp request. read more

Pool Care Solutions has been terrific to work with since I purchased my house in 2015. They are great at quickly responding to problems and very sharp at trouble-shooting & fixing issues. They did a top notch job replumbing from the pool equipment to the pool - installing new PVC piping to replace the old leaking copper pipes. They have also installed new decorative perimeter tile (awesome job), power sanded off years of calcium buildup and installed the system to operate the pool and spa remotely. Kiki is always super friendly, helpful and extremely responsive - she is very knowledgeable and on top of things. She always takes excellent care of me - which is very important since I am only in PS on a part-time basis. Similarly, Chris and Jose the rest of the team are great. Pool Care Solutions = DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY!!!!! Where do I even start? We finally terminated our relationship with this company after using them for a few years. When we first hired them, they took amazing care of our pool, and there were no problems. Then they changed ownership. Since then, we have had multiple guest complaints that the pool was "filthy" and green. Our property manager has had to send their own pool service out on several occasions to clean the pool. Our contract with Pool Care Solutions says that they are supposed to service our pool twice a week, so there isn't even enough time between cleanings for the pool to turn green. One time our gardener called us to tell us that the pool was overflowing because the pool tech had turned on the filler and forgot to turn it off. One weekend WE showed up to a green pool. They were supposed to have been there the day before. We called them and told them that they needed to send someone out to clean the green scum off the bottom of the pool, and they lied to us on the phone, acting surprised, and saying that they had been there the day before to clean the pool, and some BS about the hot weather making it turn green overnight. Like I said, we have been using them for a few years, and never had a green pool until it changed ownership. After the tech came that day, it stayed sparkling clean all weekend. Out of curiosity, we decided to check our security cameras, and sure enough, they were NOT there the day before. We went further back in the recordings, and realized that they had missed additional days, and had continued to charge us for twice a week. So dishonest. So scummy. Who knows how long this company has been ripping us off? In addition to not showing up when they were supposed to, they damaged our pool skimmer basket by banging it against the concrete, and Natalie in the office had the audacity to tell us that they are not responsible for replacing it because they hadn't installed it... What?? In our efforts to recoup the lost money from missed service days, and the skimmer basket, we have been put on the back burner and even mocked by this rude chick Natalie. She was supposed to send us a refund check for the missed days and skimmer basket weeks ago. We called her a couple of days ago, and she acted like she didn't know we were expecting our refund (I have emailed her twice to ask about the status and didn't receive a reply). She mockingly told us in these exact words that "yeah, because $40 is so much money." WTF is wrong with this company? Yes. $40 is a lot of money. It look a lot of $40 dollar increments to buy this house, and to pay their crappy company to screw up our pool. We have since switched to Bella Blue Pool Service, and we couldn't be happier with their service. I highly recommend them. This Yelp review is the best $40 I have ever spent. read more

If you read the past 6 months from Oct '21 you will get a more accurate understanding of how the new owner Chris K is ruining this business. I agree with the many negative reviews as unfortunately I have experienced much of the same. Our pool tech(s) come late or on the wrong day. They leave the pool in service mode so none of the controls work. They leave the gate open so the dogs can get out. They do not explain or communicate problems. I just get invoices for repairs no one told me about or bothered explaining. We get complaints from our renters about their rudeness while working. And worst of all is Chris' defensive and condescending attitude when confronted about the low quality service. Full of excuses and never once apologizing, Chris treats people as if he is doing us a favor for being willing to take our money. I fully expect him to respond to this review to explain to you how I'm the real problem. But again, don't take my word for it. Read the last 6 months of his reviews. read more

From the estimate to the install, they were punctual, friendly, professional, and explained several options. The install went exactly as they said it would..... They started out great. Very professional. But supervisors left. Pool cleaning guys turned over. The visit before last, the guy left the top to the pool pump loose. Pump sucked 120+ degree air for 6 hours. Could have destroyed the pump. Very chatty on his cellphone though! When he was replaced, the next guy AGAIN forgot to tighten the pump cover. I found the pump sucking air 3 days later. I fired Pool Care Solutions. Horrible untrained and unsupervised employees. read more

We've been using PCS for almost five years starting with Dennis and stuck with them when Chris took over. We live in our house full time but also occasionally vacation rent. Like many in PS our pool/spa area is the key feature to the entire property. From Chris to the office staff to the techs to the service guys, everybody has been super patient, flexible and professional with me. They've helped me out of jams, some that I created some that other contractors have left me with. I've used them for all kinds of jobs: big, small and servicing. My biggest regret is when I did a project and did NOT use PCS. I've gotten to know Chris and crew over the years and I happen to think they are cool people. I like to establish a good rapport with the service guys and in five years they never missed a servicing and the pool and spa look and swim freakin' amazing. I guess when your business grows to a certain size you'll pull in some drama and if nothing else, Yelp is a magnet for drama lol. What can I say? We had a new pool pum installed for 3600.00. after one day we noticed other system wasn't going through its cleaning cycle. Alos the lights were not working. a man came out and redid the wire and it seemed like everything is working. Today I go to turn on the jacuzzI and the heater won't turn on. I looked over the system and a plate covering over an electrical box is missing a screw and was open to the weather. you would think for 3600.00 dollars you would get better service. I have called on Pool Care Solutions several times and they are always quick to come out and help. First, I had them install and one touch control system for my pool/spa heat and lights. Their quote was substantially less than what my own pool quoted me, so I went with them and was very happy with the price and service. Since they I have called them out to fix minor things on my pool heater and they came out same day to take a look and fixed the next day. Chris is the owner now and it wasn't much better when Dennis owned it. I had high hopes for change. I knew we should have looked around but we have been using them to clean the pool since we moved in, years ago. So, we hired pool care solutions to remove old coating in pool, replace tile and paint the deck. While we were away from the house for a week, the pool coating was jack hammered off and the new tile applied. Then no one showed to work for quite awhile. Well, needless to say ... when they did finally show up to start ... the pebble tech installed was the WRONG type. What we ordered had glass beads in the pebble tech mix but what we got was just plain pebble tech. Big price difference, you know. Not what we ordered. Chris had the nerve to stand at the edge of the pool and claim that the beads would shine after it was acid washed the next day. Needless to say that never happened! It's in and stuck now. And he knew that! Chris had the audacity to deny what we requested (we have the original samples), with a straight face and offered a $500 credit. I can't print here what I want solution to be! I was livid, still am a little. Tile ordered was correct and looks great. (surprise) Chris never returned to the house after he was confronted. Pool was being filled and light went out in pool, wiring replaced and the light totally went out in hot-tub and had to be replaced, at our expense, even though there had never been any problems with the lights BEFORE they touched them. It kept throwing the breaker, which it had never done. I thought for sure the light was going to be $499.95 (get it) but it was $400. Finally lights are in and pool is filled but deck is not painted. When they did finally show up to paint, it will have to be touched up as they were dry brushing and a-lot got missed but i wanted them OUT! GONE! Totally unreliable for major work! Barely reliable for pool maintenance. Problems reported through the years but never any follow through, only excuses. There are enough pool companies in town not to be stuck with one ... just because! Do the research and shop around or you may be in our shoes ... $15,000 later and not happy with the work ... We bought a house with a pool that had been neglected for several years. Chris, the owner, came out and did a free inspection. He reviewed what needed to be done and we agreed to hire PCS to go down the list of repairs. The repairs were done well and in a timely fashion. In one case where a problem persisted, PCS stood behind their work and came back for free (actually several times for what turned out to be a difficult problem). We hired PCS to do our regular pool service as well as repairs and installing new equipment. PCS is not the least expensive service in the valley but they are honest and the work is first rate. It's a case of getting what you pay for. read more
