I have been a customer of Kool Pool for several years but noticed that the quality of the service had declined. I researched and interviewed several companies but before I switched to a competitor, we sold our home. In the spring of 2023, the owner, George, hired a manager, Robert, and out-sourced his bookkeeping to Elysium Accounting, located in AZ. Since then phone calls, texts and emails are not returned or even acknowledged. Refunds for over payment are not provided (they owe me money as a result of an over-payment caused by an incorrect invoice). What makes the situation even more frustrating is that over a month ago I reached out to them, and have continued to over the last 3 weeks, without any response to my communication voicemails, texts and emails. Lived in the valley a very long time and had gone through at least 4-5 pool companies. A Kool Pool is one of the best pool companies by far. Rob is the owner and he is very professional and returns my calls the same day. I have not had problems with their service and if there is an issue Rob has made it clear to contact him right away to correct any issue. Could not manage to show up when they were supposed to. Did not do a good job of cleaning the pool.

Not the cheapest, but by a long shot, the very best. I had the same pool guy for 7 years. He got worse and worse each year. Why I waited so long to try another pool service, was just a lazy habit I guess. George is a super nice guy and we hired him because of reviews on Yelp. Our pool and water features have never looked so bad. The first employee wasn't showing up and the second did about 10% of what he was contracted to do. I'm very disappointed, I really wanted it to work out. If you hire this service, maybe you'll have a positive interaction with a different technician, but you definitely do need to stay on top of it. read more

First time pool owner and not sure I'd find one that did at least a satisfactory job. But! He also made some recommendations going forward for how to prevent a recurrence, and advised me about a problem which was developing. I don't know what more you could ask of a professional. I had just moved into my home and discovered my pool pump was noisy and had excessive air in the system. I contacted George at Kool Pool. George visited my home within an hour and diagnosed the problem as an issue with the 3 way valves that share the pool and spa. To my surprise George returned first thing the next morning to repair the 3 way valves and resolve the issue. About a month later I also had Kool Pool "blast" the calcium deposits off of the pool wall above the water line. Very satisfied with the results. read more

George has been helpful in repairing and replacing older equipment and his fees are reasonable and fair. I recently bought a place in PD and was not happy with the service of the existing pool service company. Solutions to issues always seemed like overkill with a hefty price tag. When he told me I needed to replace the entire pump system I contacted George who came right away to look at the issue. He sent his electrician the following morning and as I suspected it was a breaker panel issue which he immediately addressed at a fraction of the cost of replacing the pump....which was never the issue in the first place. The weekly service is fabulous and we couldn't happier with things now. I would recommend George without hesitation. An absolute pleasure dealing with him and all the staff that I have met. Be careful with this company! Their work is very spotty. When Goerge and his team started servicing my pool in Palm Springs it was great. Super clean, the team was is super reliable and responsive. Then it went down the hill. My brand new (expensive pebble ) plaster looks disgusting after only nine months. This is expensive plaster and I saved three years to pay for this. It kills me to see it being ruined, that's a $29K damage caused by this company. The yellow plaster is a sign of laziness because the pool guy didn't take the time to brush it, and hasn't done it probably for weeks, if not for months. When I sent the owner George the pictures and called him to discuss the issue, the first didn't pick up. No surprise there, because he knew what was coming. This was not the first time, I had this issue with him. So, I called again, and he picked up saying he will send someone out the next day. This is the third time I'm dealing with the yellow coloring on my pool. The first two times he used excuses like "Your salt system is not working", or "Chlorine level is too low". Whatever it may be, it needs to be fixed and excuses do not matter. Brushing the pool and removing algy is part of the job, and so is leveling out the sale/chlorine level. It's not rocket science. Anyway, so this morning I called again (of course he didn't pick up). I texted him and get a text back saying the pool is now "perfect". I'm not local, so I sent a neighbor over to take pictures. The pool was not "perfect". The pictures speak for themselves. Then I get a text saying I should call the salt cell company to have them fix the salt cell... Isn't that George's job? I work 12 hour days and now I have to chase the salt cell company... trying to figure out whatever may or may not be the problem. I feel this is just pushing the bucket to the client, and it is lazy and unprofessional. I should just be able to rely on the fact that the pool is being cleaned properly. I can not recommend this company at all. Sorry. Very disappointed. read more

I have a vacation house in Palm Springs. Troy has been coming to my house twice a week for the last six months and my pool looks fantastic! Their service has been very dependable and I appreciate that they are at my house twice a week. I also feel like George (the owner) runs a very honest company. A couple of weeks ago my pump was not working, and there had been a big wind storm. The next morning my pool looked like it had been abandoned for years. Many weeks they wouldn't come twice, never filled in service sheets, and would forget to complete job (put basket away and check chemicals). Turnover rate of employees was high.
