I've used Palmetto Pools & Spas twice in the past month for some urgent repairs…read more First one was to replace the multiport valve on the Hayward filter. It was worn and I could no longer press the lever down to rotate the valve for drainage or waste-out. It was right before a big storm and I was worried that I would be unable to drain the pool if needed, due to the rain. Dan came out within a couple days to replace the valve assembly. Reasonable price. The second repair was the pump motor. The day before the big snow storm, the motor started making a terrible noise and I was worried it was about to seize up. With the deep freeze happening, it was imperative that I get the motor replaced quickly. Dan was able to come out right after the snow. I was lucky that the original motor held out through the freeze. It all worked out fine. Dan was knowledgeable about the pool equipment, friendly, and nice to deal with. Will use them again the next time I need a repair.

We had an awful experience with Palmetto Pools. From the start, their service was riddled with…read moreproblems. We contacted the owner, Dan, several times, but all we got were excuses. He never came out to inspect the pool personally. Instead, we had to take samples to a nearby pool supply store, where we consistently encountered low chemical levels. Whenever we raised issues, we were told it was our equipment and to call our builder. We did, and it wasn't the equipment. Our builder even came out to fix other issues that Palmetto wouldn't handle, like a liner that had come out of the track. We sent photos and videos of the problems, such as algae starting in our pool. In response, we were told that if we wanted it cleaned, there would be an extra charge. We already pay over $300 a month, so an additional charge for algae in the skimmer basket made no sense. Almost a 1/2 year- we did give them a chance. I have enclosed photos of the algae and what they left our system. In summary, promises were made but never kept. Their designers have very poor software, and it contradicts itself and adds dangerous items that the state will not allow In certain areas of the pool.

I also told them I was scheduled to go out of state on 7/12/25 for an indefinite amount of time. Received written estimate totaling $325 which was due the first day in cash or via Venmo, using my chemicals for these services, and including two one hour service calls. Pool was uncovered first visit on 6/27/25 and determined pool motor needed to be replaced. I declined their estimate to replace motor. I asked if they would just replace the cover and we'd call it quits. Was told it would be additional $225 to replace the cover. A net was used for about 10 minutes to remove a few of the leaves from the bottom and the guys left. I got motor replaced and asked for Lakeside services to be completed. I was notified second visit would take place 7/11/25 but was told estimated time could not be provided. I waited all day and was notified at 4:37 serviceman was on his way, and I told them it was beginning to storm by then. He arrived and called me from in front of my home to let me know he was there but because of storm would have to reschedule. I reminded him I was leaving the state the next day, didn't know when I'd return, so couldn't reschedule and to please refund me $225 since the pool had not been vacuumed or brushed not the water balanced. I was told since I had not rescheduled when Billy was at my home on 6/11/25 during the storm, I was not due any refund, that they had done everything outlined in the proposal, and since then they have failed to return my calls.
